Live from the Jake Nevil Fieldhouse in Villanova, Pennsylvania . . . this is . . . SHOOTING . . . STARS . . . WRESTLING !!!!The screen goes black and we hear the fans chanting ‘S-S-W! S-S-W!’
The opening montage starts us off as ‘INSIDE THE FIRE’ by Disturbed hits. As it fades out to black we still hear the crowd chanting ‘S-S-W! S-S-W!’ The camera comes up on the rowdy crowd pumping their fists as they chant, and the strobe lights go off on the ramp. The camera scans the crowd, focusing in on several signs in the audience.
We start the show off in the ring with the SSW General Manager Shane McMahon, who has some announcements. He announces that in 2 weeks SSW will make a return trip north of the border to Toronto, Canada for a commercial-free special. On that night we will see the return of ‘Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal’. Every mach will have a stipulation, decided by the spin of the wheel. Shane also announces that one of SSW’s most decorated tag teams will make their return at the show . . . Matt & Jeff . . . THE HARDYZ! Shane wanted to find the perfect opponent for them for their return match, and he has selected Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin . . . THE MOTOR CITY MACHINE GUNS!!!! He says tonight they are going to have a battle royal with the winner getting the shot at Jericho’s title at the event. He wants to see if some of SSW’s newest faces can establish themselves as major players for a long time to come.
‘I’M BACK . . . AND BETTER THAN EVER . . . GOT A KNACK . . . FOR MAKIN THINGS BETTER . . .’ and out comes Eric Bischoff!!!! Bischoff accuses Shane of taking credit for the deals that Bischoff made while in control. Shane thinks he has pushed him out of power, but Bischoff assures him that his contract is iron clad and he will not get rid of him that easy. Bischoff warns Shane that he has not seen the last of him tonight or any other night.
BREAKPrince Nana comes out and talks about Justin Gabriel being the crown jewel of the Embassy and how he should be one of the men in the ladder match tonight. He is going to prove it by winning the next match no matter who his opponent is. Out comes his opponent . . . SAMOA JOE!!!!
Match 1 – Singles Match
Justin Gabriel w/ Prince Nana vs. Samoa JoeGabriel is going nuts and Nana tries to calm him down. Gabriel attacks but Joe no-sells it and unleashes a flurry of offense on Gabriel. Joe hits the reverse atomic drop and the running sick kick, then drops all his weight on Gabriel with the back senton. Snap powerslam by Joe and he locks on a crossface, but Nana distracts the ref. Joe lets go and goes after Nana, but Gabriel low blows Joe from behind and then goes to the top for the 450 splash. Nana is still arguing with the ref and ends up hitting the ropes hard enough to trip Gabriel and crotch him on the top rope! Joe rocks Gabriel with the CCS Enziguri . . . MUSCLE BUSTAAAAAAH! Joe picks Gabriel up and locks on the rear naked choke, and Gabriel taps out!
Joe leaves as quickly as he entered, but the story is in the ring where Gabriel and Nana are in a heated argument. Gabriel is pissed, and he walks off from Nana and leaves him in the ring.
We get another promo from the home of AJ Styles. AJ says that the doctors have told him not to come back, but he is coming back anyway. And next week, he will be back in SSW. He is coming back for one reason, and that is Eddie Gilbert. He says that if Gilbert has any guts, he will show up next week and face him after what he tried to do to him. He dares Eddie to show up and finish the job. BREAKIN THE BACK: new backstage interviewer Gregory Helms gets a word with SSW Genesis champion Chris Jericho, and he says in 2 weeks in Toronto, Jericho will be defending the SSW title instead of challenging for the UWF world title . . . WASSUP WIT DAT???? Jericho says that the idea of having to defend the SSW title again after soundly beating the Rock last week is ludicrous. He not only defeated, but he dominated the longest reigning world heavyweight champion in history, and added his name to the long list of former world champions that he has defeated. And how does SSW reward him, by giving 6 guys that just came in off the street a chance to challenge him. He is the first-ever 2 time SSW champion, the face of this company, and this is just another example of the conspiracy against him. He will not stand by for this vilification!!!!
In walks Lance Storm! Storm tells Jericho that he owes him for last week, but Jericho says that he does not owe Storm anything! Storm says that he is guaranteeing victory in the battle royal tonight. And when he wins, they will finally get a chance to settle their ‘unfinished business’ in Toronto and he will unify the XWA and SSW titles! And when he is the undisputed champion, DON’T BLAME CANADA . . . BLAME YOURSELF!!!! After the break, we get some highlights from last week with Christian making his debut against Alex Riley, and Riley walking out in mid-match and losing by countout. Christian comes out and says that he finishes what he starts, because THAT’S . . . HOW HE ROLLS. Alex Riley comes out and says that he is the ‘Chosen One’, and all of Christians ‘peeps’ know it. He walked out because he realized that Christian is not even in his league because he is the ‘Rare Breed’. These people are not in his league either, and they don’t deserve to see him in the ring. If Cage wants to get embarrassed again, Riley has nothing better to do tonight.
Match 1 – Singles Match
Christian Cage vs. Alex RileyAnother good effort by these men, with Riley looking really strong in this one. He controls a good portion of the match, but the fans are behind Cage and he makes a late run at the end. Cage scores with the missile dropkick, but Riley rolls out of the way of the frog splash and Cage crashes hard. ‘You’re Dismissed’ is countered by Cage . . . KILLSWITCH!!!! 1 . . . 2 . . . 3!!!! However, Riley gets his foot in the ropes before the 3, but the ref does not see it. Riley tries to plead his case to the ref after the match, but the ref says that he didn’t see it and his decision stands. Riley is handed his first loss in SSW.
BREAKIN THE BACK: We see Jericho talking to one of the production guys about their being a conspiracy against him. He hears someone laughing and then the camera pans to reveal a man in a cowboy hat leaning against the wall drinking a beer. The man tips up his hat to reveal . . . ‘COWBOY’ JAMES STORM!!!! Storm tells Jericho he whines too much. His whining can be heard all over the UWF, from here to St. Louis to Florida to California. No one cares! Storm says that he has been something that Jericho hasn’t, a world champion. And after he wins the battle royal tonight, in 2 weeks he will have his first singles title when he beats Jericho for the SSW title. All he’s got to say about that is . . . ‘SORRY ABOUT YOUR DAMN LUCK!’ Storm drinks the rest of his beer, then walks off. Before the next match, we get a small clip of the confrontation between the Stampede Bulldogs and the No Remorse Corps, leading up to this match tonight. As both teams prepare for the match, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin come out and join Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan at the announce booth.
Match 2 – Tag Team Match
Stampede Bulldogs (Tyson Kidd & DH Smith) vs. No Remorse Corps (Davey Richards & Roderick Strong)The MCMG provide commentary during the match. Shelley says both of these teams think they are the best, but it was the Machine Guns that Shane McMahon hand-picked to face the Hardyz in their return to SSW. The match itself is what you would expect from tehse four guys, with the NRC working a very stiff style and targeting the back of Kidd for most of the match. After Smith gets the hot tag, all four men are going at it in the ring and Smith sends Richards flying off the apron with a Yakuza kick. Richards crashes into the announce table, which causes a confrontation between Richards and the Guns! While this is going on, Kidd is able to surprise Strong with a blockbuster, and then the Bulldogs finish him off with a backbreaker/ springboard elbow drop combo.
Afterwards, the Guns and the NRC have words at ringside. There is some shoving going on, but security is able to separate them as we go to break.
BREAKIN THE BACK: Lance Storm congratulates the Stampede Bulldogs on their win. He says that the Hart Foundation is taking SSW back over, and he tries to get them to join him and ensure that he wins the ladder match tonight. Smith says that they are on their own, and they are tired of being errand boys and living in the shadow of the Hart Foundation. It is time for them to stand on their own. They are going to be the next champions, and they are going to do it without the help of the Hart Foundation. Back to live action, the Fortunate Sons come out to the ring in celebratory fashion. Dibiase talks about his father, who is currently 1/3 of the 6 man tag team champions, and tells the story about how Oedipus rose up and killed his father. Well, Ted Jr. is not going to marry his mother, but what he is going to do is lead the Fortunate Sons to the UWF 6 man tag titles, even if he has to go through his own father to do it!!!! Last week they beat the top ranked 6 man team in the world, and he takes the credit for their win. Cody Rhodes interrupts and wants Dibiase to give him back his half of the tag team titles. Dibiase says that Cody has to earn the right to be a champion back because he let the Fortunate Sons down. Cody says that Ted let the Fortunate Sons down when he lost the SSW title, and if it wasn’t for Cody last week Dibiase would have got choked out by Taz . . . AGAIN. Dibiase and Cody look like they might go at it, but Hennig and Rotunda step in the middle. Cody and Rotunda get into a shouting match as well.
‘REALIST KILLAZ’! Out comes Project 187. Taz has the mic. ‘Do you think this is the first time any of us has got beat? Think again!’ They are the top ranked 6 man team in the UWF . . . so what? It ain’t about the rankings to them, it is about dominating. They got embarrassed last week, but it took all 4 of them to get the job done. Project 187 ain’t about that, Project 187 is about dumping little punks on their heads and choking them out. You want to be No. 1, then you fight us! Taz challenges all 4 members of the Fortunate Sons to a street fight next week, and it will be a 4 on 3 handicap match. If Project 187 loses, then they don’t deserve to be ranked No. 1. Dibiase accepts, then says that after they beat them again next week, the Fortunate Sons are going to be the ones that bring the 6 man titles home to SSW. Dibiase tells his dad that he will see him real soon.
IN THE BACK: Gregory Helms is with another new signee to SSW . . . BOOKER T. Booker says that he is going to win the battle royal tonight and get gold around his waist in SSW. NOW CAN YOU DIG THAT . . . SUCKA!!!!!BREAKMain Event – Battle Royal for a title shot at the SSW title in 2 weeks This is a long and grueling battle royal with all of SSW’s top names in it. Alex Riley eliminates Christian, but gets eliminated by James Storm. Justin Gabriel and Prince Nana have more miscommunication, causing Gabriel to be eliminated by Storm as well. Gabriel and Nana argue afterwards and Gabriel punches Nana. Joe looks impressive, eliminating David Hart Smith and Taz. Dibiase actually eliminates Cody Rhodes, who causes Dibise to be eliminated by Storm because the 2 were arguing. One by one, they are all tossed over the top rope until only 6 remain . . . SEVEN, JAMES STORM, LANCE STORM, SHEAMUS, SAMOA JOE, and BOOKER T. James Storm has a tremendous showing in the battle royal, eliminating more people than anyone else and continuing to avoid elimination himself. Joe manages to eliminate Seven, but he pays the price as Seven pulls him under the bottom rope and they brawl all the way to the back. Joe never returns to the match. Booker nails Lance Storm with the Bookend, but then when he does the spin-a-roonie Sheamus is able to eliminate him. It is down to James Storm, Lance Storm, and Sheamus. James Storm and Lance Storm tumble over the top but land on the apron, and as they are fighting Sheamus nails James Storm with the Brogue Kick and knocks him to the floor, eliminating him! It is down to Sheamus and Lance Storm, and they fight on for a good few more minutes. Storm avoid the Crucifix Bomb and nails a superkick, but Sheamus elevates Storm over the top rope to the apron when he goes for the piledriver. Storm grabs Sheamus and suplexes him to the floor, but Sheamus holds on and takes Storm with him and both men hit at the same time! WHO WON????
Shane McMahon is out as the referees argue about it, with one announcing Sheamus as the winner and the other announcing Storm. We go off the air with it still undecided who actually won the match.
