Shooting Stars Wrestling #54 - 'New Blood'

Before the show starts, we get a highlight package from last weeks show.  It shows the A-list retaining the tag titles against the Dynasty, then Mike Dibiase laying out Melina.  Bryan Danielson defeating Elijah Burke is also shown, as is Gail Kim winning a frantic 6 woman match to become the new women’s champ.  The final clip shows the triple threat rematch from Wrestlemania, with HHH eliminating both Nigel and Kurt to seemingly win the title, only to have Jeff Hardy cash in his contract and defeat HHH to become the new SSW Genesis champion.

The opening promo airs to ‘FAR BEHIND’ by Lunatic Calm

The screen goes black and we can hear the crowd chanting ‘S-S-W!  S-S-W!  S-S-W!’  The camera comes up as the strobe lights go off through the arena and the camera scans the rowdy crowd, who are yelling and pumping their fists as they chant.  We go to ringside, where Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan are ready to bring you tonight’s show.  They put over that tonight the ‘New Talent Initiative’ will kick off, plus in the main event they are going to see the 3 top challengers for the TV title going at it.  They get interrupted as ‘HERE COMES THE MONEEEEEEEEY’ hits and out comes Shane McMahon.

Shane wants to talk about last week’s controversy, and says that his decision is going to get him a lot of heat.  He says that the decision is going to stand and Jeff Hardy is the SSW Genesis champion.  The fans boo, but Shane tells them that he is not going to make it easy on Jeff.  This brings out Jeff Hardy, followed closely by Tyler Black.  Jeff talks about how people would not listen to him.  They would not take him seriously because of what he did to his brother.  Well, Matt does not need their pity or compassion because it has made him weak.  One day he will see that.  But now the people have no choice but to take him seriously because he holds the future of SSW in his hands!!!!  Tyler takes the mic next, and he cuts a promo on how the prodigal son has returned.  Tyler runs down Eddie, saying that he originally was sent to bring Eddie back into the Plague but then he realized how weak Eddie was.  Tyler admits that he never left the Plague all along!!!!  

This brings out Eddie Guerrero.  Eddie laughs, saying that Tyler did a good job because he fooled everyone, even him.  But don’t forget that Eddie learned a lot when he was part of the Plague.  And he is going to use that to take him down.  He tells Shane that he wants a match with Tyler tonight.  Shane agrees and Eddie vs. Tyler is made for tonight.

IN THE BACK: Nigel McGuiness gets interviewed by Kelly Kelly.  He talks about what happened last week, and Jeff Hardy is mistaken if he thinks he is done with him.  Nigel is interrupted by Brutus Magnus!  Magnus tells Nigel that he needs to move aside and make way for the ‘Modern Day Gladiator’ because he is going to be the first British World champ.  He says that he will not fail to bring home the gold like Nigel did, and he will make the Queen proud.  Nigel is pissed and he tells Magnus to meet him in the ring NOW!

Match 1: Singles Match

Nigel McGuiness
Vs.
‘The Modern Day Gladiator’ Brutus Magnus

This is a very good match that sees Magnus get in a lot of offense.  Magnus goes for his finisher, but McGuiness gets out and rocks him with some hard European uppercuts.  Nigel goes for the jawbreaker lariat but Magnus dodges and catches Nigel in the ‘Tormentum’ for a close 2!  Magnus goes up top, but Nigel cuts him off and then hits the ‘Tower of London’ for the 3 count!  

IN THE BACK: we see MVP and Larry Sweeney in the locker room.  Sweeney is on the phone.  MVP wants to know why people are not mentioning his name when they talk about the SSW title picture.  He goes on about how he is the highest paid entertainer in SSW and how he is a blue chip athlete.  Apparently he needs to make more of an impact to get noticed.  Sweeney gets off his cell phone and says that Shane McMahon needs to start taking notice because his client deserves better than this!    

Commercial Break

Back from the break, Trish Stratus comes out and talks about Beth Phoenix taking her out last week.  She calls Beth a sore loser and says she cost her the women’s title.  ‘MISS INDEPENDENT’ by Ne-yo hits and out comes CANDICE MICHELLE, ASHLEY LANE, and LOVE . . . THE HOTTIES!  LOVE has a mic and talks about how they are making their debut through the SSW-BQ talent exchange, and so far they are not impressed with anything they see.  SSW needs them there to give their women’s division credibility.  She talks trash to Trish, who doesn’t take it for very long until she slaps LOVE!  The Hotties jump on Trish and and beat her down, but out comes Beth Phoenix.  The Hotties back off, but Beth picks Trish up and gives her the Glam Slam!  She says that now that she has taken out the trash, she wants her title back.  Out comes Gail Kim, but the Hotties and Beth jumps on her as well!  Beth puts her in the torture rack and cranks away on her back until Mickie James comes out and makes the save.  Gail’s back is hurt afterwards, but we have Gail vs. Beth made for later on.

IN THE BACK: Elijah Burke and Monty Brown are with Kelly Kelly.  Burke talks about how he already has the TV title, but they want all the gold in SSW!  He tells the A-list that sooner or later they are going to have to face the New Breed.  THE BLACK POPE HAS SPOKEN!  Chris Jericho comes in and interrupts, complaining that he should not have to be in this 3 way dance tonight!  He is the best wrestler on TV and the TV title will be HIS!  He runs down AJ and DANIELSON, saying Danielson just got lucky last week and AJ is not as talented as him.  He says he will be the one that faces Elijah next week.  

Back in the arena, out comes Dolph Ziggler and he goes around to Mike and Joe at ringside and introduces himself.  Then he gets in the ring and introduces himself to the ring announcer and ref.  Then SAMOA JOE’s music hits and Ziggler gets a terrified look on his face.  Mike says that Joe is not Ziggler’s opponent, and wonders why he is out here.  Ziggler goes up to Joe and extends his hand, saying ‘Hi . . . I’m Dolph Ziggler!’  Joe looks at him and then goes on the attack, beating the hell out of him!!!!  Joe stays in the ring, saying he is not leaving until he gets a fight.  ‘FAINT’ by Linkin Park hits and out comes his opponent . . .

Brent Albright!!!!

Match 2: Singles Match

Samoa Joe
Vs.
‘The Shooter’ Brent Albright

Both of these men beat the hell out of each other in a very stiff match.  Albright kicks out of the Muscle Buster, and then gets out of the choke when Joe tries to slap it on.  Likewise, Albright locks the Crowbar on Joe and Joe manages to reverse it and lock the crowbar on Albright!  Albright has to go to the ropes to break it!  There is a ref bump, and suddenly MVP hits the ring and blasts Joe with the ‘Playa’s Boot’ in the corner!!!!  Joe falls to one knee, and MVP hits him with another Drive By kick!  Albright is back up and sees this, then starts fighting with MVP.  Albright reverses out of the Playmaker and hits the half nelson suplex, and MVP rolls outside!  Joe manages to get to his feet and gets face to face with Albright, and they start going at it again!  Referees and security come out and have to separate the two as we go to break.

‘LINE IN THE SAND’ hits and out comes the Dynasty, led by the ‘Million Dollar Man’ Ted Dibiase.  Ted Jr. takes the mic and talks trash to Morrison and Miz about what they did to Melina last week.  Mike talks about how sweet Melina smelled, and says that she probably enjoyed every minute of being next to a real man like him.  He says that when Morrison thinks she is sleeping she is shooting him texts about how she likes it rough.  He bets Morrison did not know that.  This brings out a pissed off Morrison, who hits the ring and tries to take on the entire Dynasty on his own.  Needless to say, the numbers game is too much for him and he gets beat down.  They lay out a chair and Mike is going to give him the butterfly brainbuster on it, but the Miz hits the ring with a chair and makes the save for Morrison.  

PROMO . . . we see darkness with fog rolling in.  The image of a mask slowly emerges from the smoke with the words . . . HE IS COMING!

Match 3: for the Women’s United States title

vs.
Beth Phoenix

THE HOTTIES come out and sit ringside for this match, and Beth works on Gail’s injured back.  Gail takes a beating but Beth cannot put her away.  Gail hits a bulldog, then goes up top for the missile drop kick, but LOVE leaves her seat and shoves her off the top rope!  The ref jaws with the HOTTIES, while Trish runs out from the other side and hits Beth with the Stratus-faction!!!!  Trish then takes out the HOTTIES with a pescado!  In the ring, Beth goes for the Glam Slam but Gail rolls her up in the victory roll for the 1 . . . 2 . . . NOOOOO!  Beth goes for the Beth Valley Driver, but Gail reverses it into a tilt a whirl head scissors into the ‘Christo’ (head scissors w/ armbar) in the middle of the ring!!!!  Beth fights to get to the ropes but can’t, and the former champion taps out!!!!

After the match, the HOTTIES join Beth in beating down Trish and Gail.  They lay out the women's title and Candice gives Gail the ‘Candy Wrapper’ on the title belt!!!!  LOVE pulls out a tube of lipstick and smears it all over Trish’s face until Micke James come back out to make the save.  James gets a mic and challenges the Hotties to meet them in a 6 woman tag next week.

Commercial Break

PROMO: we get a disclaimer that says ‘brought to you by Jillian Hall Productions’.  We are on the set of a movie where we see a stunt driver driving a car around the set.  The car gets crashed, and you hear someone yell ‘CUT!’  People rush the car and pull the driver out, and he pulls off his helmet to reveal LANCE CADE.  As the makeup lady comes in and powders his face, he looks at the camera and winks.  He says that he knows danger, and being a stuntman is a dangerous job . . . but not as dangerous as the world of pro wrestling.  Get ready SSW, Lance ‘Danger’ Cade is comin!

Match 4: Singles match

Eddie Guerrero
Vs.
Tyler Black

This match goes back and forth the whole way, with Tyler really showing that he can hang with Eddie.  Tyler looks to have the advantage in the match, but the crowd cheers Eddie on and he comes back.  Eddie grabs a chair, but the ref turns around before he can use it and he tosses it to Tyler and cowers like he is going to be hit.  The ref sees Tyler with the chair but he throws it down and tries to say that it was Eddie that was using it.  The ref puts the chair out of the ring, allowing Eddie to low blow the distracted Tyler from behind.  Eddie hits the 3 amigos and then goes up top for the Frog Splash.  Out comes Jeff Hardy, and when Eddie sees him he dives to the outside and takes out Jeff.  Eddie pulls himself up, but Tyler grabs him and tosses him face-first into the ring post!  The ref tries to pull Tyler off of Eddie, but Tyler hits the ref and he calls for the bell.

They toss Eddie back in the ring, and work him over.  Tyler holds Eddie while Jeff smashes him in the head with a steel chair, further opening the cut on his head.  Jeff wipes the blood off his face and smears it on his face like war paint.  Tyler hits the ‘God’s Last Gift’, then Jeff comes off the top with the Swanton Bomb!  The fans start chanting ‘We Want Matt!’, which pisses Jeff off.  He pulls a long spike out of his pocket and is going to stab Eddie in the head with it when HHH’s music hits!!!!  The Game comes out in street clothes carrying his sledge hammer, and Jeff and Tyler hit the road.  We go to break with an intense HHH staring down Jeff and Tyler as they bail.

IN THE BACK: Eddie is getting stitched up by the trainer in the back.  Eddie says that Jeff and Tyler wants to play numbers game.  Well, he just made a call and got himself a partner for next week, and he challenges them to a tag team match.

Main Event: 3 way dance

Chris Jericho
Vs.
AJ Styles
Vs.
Bryan Danielson

All three men pull out the stops to win this one.  Danielson and Styles double team Jericho in the early goings, but then end up fighting each other.  Jericho comes back in and hits the codebreaker on AJ, then locks Danielson in the Walls of Jericho.  AJ breaks it up with the superman forearm.  Jericho tries to hit a huricanrana from the top on Styles, but he holds on and turns it into the Styles Clash for the pin!!!!  JERICHO is eliminated!!!!

Afterwards, Jericho is pissed and he comes abck in and attacks both men.  He locks AJ in the Walls of Jericho and refuses to let go as referees and security try to pull him off.  Danielson comes back in and makes the save, chasing Jericho to the back.  AJ is in bad shape, and both Danielson and the refs check on him.  AJ refuses to let the ref stop the match, and he wants to continue.  The match continues, and AJ takes the fight to Danielson and nearly wins the match.  AJ htis the Spiral Tap, but Danielson kicks out.  Danielson reverses the Styles Clash into the triangle choke, but AJ rolls him up and forces him to break the hold.  AJ misses the syuperman forearm, and Danielson hits the Dagger Bomb before going right into the Cattle Mutilation!!!!  AJ holds on as long as he can, but eventually he has to tap out!  

After the match, Danielson checks on Styles but Elijah Burke comes out and attacks Danielson from behind.  He goes for the Elijah Express, but Danielson hits a knee strike and then starts raining down the trapping elbows to the side of the head!  Monty Brown hits the ring and lays Danielson out with the ‘Pooooooooounce!’ and Burke holds up the TV title over Danielson as the show ends.
