Live from Cobo Arena in Detroit, Michigan . . . this is . . .

Shooting Stars Wrestling #25 SSWlogo

SHOOTING . . .STARS . . . WRESTLING!!!!

The opening SSW promo airs to ‘MILLIONAIRE’ by Queens of the Stone Age

The screen is blank for a moment as we can here the fans chanting ‘S . . . S . . . W!!!! . . . S . . . S . . . W!!!!’  The screen comes up on a rowdy arena full of fans pumping their fists as strobe lights go off through the venue and the camera zooms in and out.  We go to ringside with Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan.

Mike – ‘Fans, I am Mike Goldberg along with my broadcast partner Joe Rogan coming to you live from inside the Cobo Arena in Detroit, Michigan!  It is time once again to bring you the ‘Next Chapter’ in the NWA: . . . Shooting . . . Stars . . . Wrestling!!!!  SSW’S first Great American bash show is in the books, Joe, and what a time we had on the 4th of July from Cleveland!’

Joe – ‘You’re right Mike.  What a night it was, and a big night for SSW in general.  We definitely showed why they call us the ‘Next Chapter’ for sure.  But as the Bash rolls along, we have some breaking news for the fans Mike.  As we know, both the NWA World 6 man titles and the Junior Heavyweight title have changed hands during the Bash, and 2 nights ago we crowned a new World Heavyweight Champion.’

Mike – ‘That’s right Joe, in controversial fashion, ‘Gorgeous’ George Wagner has recaptured the NWA World heavyweight title, putting Michaels on the shelf in the process!  But the SSW Bash show was not without some controversy of its own, especially in the SSW Genesis title match.  Who is the champion?  Honestly we don’t know but Owen Hart has the title belt and hopefully we will find out more about the title situation from GM Shane McMahon.  But tonight, Detroit’s very own Motor City Machine Guns, who came within a heartbeat of becoming the NWA World tag team champions, will meet Kid Kash and Jamie Noble tonight . . .’

Joe – ‘You mean Trailer Park Trash?’

Mike – ‘They really don’t like to be called that you know.  In addition we are going to be ‘The Shooter’ Brent Albright taking on Charlie Haas and Bryan Danielson defending the SSW Pure Championship against the electrifying ‘Sugar’ Shane Helms!  And that match is going to be up first!’

Singles match for the SSW Pure Wrestling Championship:

(champion)‘American Dragon’ Bryan Danielson
vs.
‘Sugar’ Shane Helms

Helms and Dragon exchange a flurry of holds to start off the match, with Dragon getting the better.  Helms is able to hold his own with his great quickness, forcing Danielson to use one of his rope breaks.  In frustration, Danielson strikes Helms with an open fist and gets a warning from the ref.  After a furious exchange toward the end of the match, Danielson traps Helms and rains down elbows to the side of the head, then floats over into the Cattle Mutilation!  Helms is unable to reach the ropes and is forced to give it up.

‘Here is your winner . . . and STILL the Pure Wrestling Champion . . . ‘American Dragon’ Bryan Danielson!

Commercial Break

Back from break, SSW General Manager Shane McMahon comes out to the ring.  First off, he thanks the fans for making the SSW Great American Bash show the highest rated show on TV on July 4th.  He also wants to address a bit of controversy that surrounded the ending to the Taz-Owen Hart steel cage match.  However, before he can make his announcement, he is interrupted by the SSW Genesis champion Owen Hart and the rest of the Hart Foundation.  Owen goes off on a tirade about how there is no instant replay in wrestling, and a tie goes to the champion.  Therefore he is still the champion!  Shane agrees with him, saying wrestling has never used instant replay.  But that doesn’t mean Owen is off the hook.  He will have to put the title on the line against Taz in 2 weeks!  Owen is furious, but Lance Storm steps in and asks if he can be serious for a minute.  He tells Shane that he cannot do that to Owen, and that he just wants Owen to lose the title by stacking the deck against him.  Shane tells Storm that he has a match tonight as well . . . against Taz!

Punk is backstage.  Idol approaches him and makes fun of him for losing the Cena.  He says that Punk ‘Got Punk’d!’  Idol thinks it is hilarious, but Beth Phoenix doesn’t seem that entertained.  She just rolls her eyes and crosses her arms behind him.  Punk slaps Idol, and then challenges him to meet him in the ring.  Punk walks off, and Beth giggles at Idol getting slapped and he just grabs her by the hand and drags her along.

Commercial Break

Singles Match:
CM Punk
vs.
Aaron ‘The Idol’ Stevens

Idol tries to charge Punk at the beginning of the match, but Punk slaps him in the face again and follows it up with several more open hand strikes and a spinning back-fist.  Punk dominates the early parts of the match, and appears ready to finish off Idol until Beth Phoenix provides a momentary distraction.  Idol takes over for a brief moment, but Punk hits the ‘kitchen sink’ knee in the corner followed by the bulldog.  Idol tries to get Beth to throw him a chair, but she refuses!  Idol argues with her, allowing Punk to scoop him up and nail the ‘Go to Sleep’ for the pin!

‘Here is your winner . . . C . . . M . . . Punk!’

After the match Beth and Idol argue, and Beth ends up knocking Idol on his ass with a huge forearm smash!  Beth gets a huge pop from the crowd as she walks out.

A Gods of Gravity promo airs with Paul London, Brian Kendrick, and Mickie James visiting several spots in Detroit.  They run down the city, and say that only the Motor City Machine Guns could be proud of a city like this.  They blame Shelley and Sabin for costing them the NWA tag titles at the Bash, and they say that the issues between them aren’t over, but they will be real soon.

Tag Team Match:
Trailer Park Trash (Kid Kash & Jamie Noble)
vs.
Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley)

The opening moments of this match are too fast to call, with the Guns flying all over the place.  Being in Detroit, the Guns are mega-over, and they dominate.  However, Kash and Noble settle down a bit and turn the tide, working over Chris Sabin.  Sabin takes a lot of punishment, but comes back to make the hot tag in to Shelley.  Shelley takes out both Kash and Noble, then the Guns hit some of their innovative double team moves.  Kash and Noble come back with some moves of their own, hitting a springboard doomsday device on Shelley.  There is a ref bump, and out of the back come the Gods of Gravity and Mickie James!  They grab Shelley and toss him into the railing, taking him out of the match.  In the ring, Kash and Noble double-team Sabin and finish him off with a springboard spiked ‘Money-maker’!  Mickie revives the ref and rolls him back in, and he makes the 3 count to resounding heat from the crowd.

Here are your winners . . . Trailer Park Trash!’

Commercial Break

We come back to live action in the middle of a huge brawl between the Motor City Machine Guns and the Gods of Gravity!  The brawl is happening in the backstage area, but it doesn’t take long for the action to spill out into the arena.  All four men are going at it and there are chairs and other weapons involved.  The Guns have the advantage and pull out tables, but Mickie interferes.  Sabin is going to give her the ‘Cradle Shock’, but Kendrick and London lay them out with chairs.  The GOG viciously beat down the Guns, bloodying them badly and putting them through the tables.  Kendrick gets on the mic and runs down the Guns and their hometown fans here in Detroit as the fans thrown garbage in the ring at them.  The EMT’S come out and have to carry the Guns out on stretchers.

IN THE BACK: Taz cuts a promo about how the clock is ticking on Owen Hart’s title reign.  In two weeks, the end will come at the hands of the ‘Human Suplex Machine’.  BEAT ME IF YOU CAN!  SURVIVE IF I LET YOU!’

Singles Match:
‘The Shooter’ Brent Albright
vs.
Charlie Haas

Joe and Mike put over the tremendous amateur background of both of these men.  They start out slowly, wrestling a grinding, mat-based match in the early goings.  Albright hits some big moves, such as hitting a belly to belly thrown into the turnbuckles, but he misses a top rope diving headbutt.  Haas hits an Olympic Slam, then a wrist-clutch exploder for close 2 counts.  During the action, the camera catches a man sitting in the front row of ringside, and Joe and Mike comment on how he is none other than Ted Dibiase Jr., who is employed by VWA!  Dibiase Jr. watched on intently as both men pull out all the stops but are unable to put the other away.  Haas locks on the Haas of Pain, but Albright manages to make it to the ropes.  Albright works on the shoulder, but Haas is able to somehow kick out of the dreaded half-nelson suplex!  Albright manages to lock Haas in the crowbar, but Haas reaches the ropes without having to tap as the time limit expires.

Ted Dibiase Jr. is shown watching and shakes his head in disgust.  The camera follows him as he gets up and leaves.

‘Ladies and Gentlemen . . . the time limit has expired therefore this match has been declared a draw.’

Neither man looks happy with this decision as they stare each other down intently

Commercial Break

Prior to the main event, SSW champion Owen Hart comes out and joins the announce team for some guest commentary.

Singles Match:
‘Human Suplex Machine’ Taz
vs.
Lance Storm

For the entire match, Owen puts over Storm and Canada in general, talking about how the Foundation has the best athletes in SSW.  Storm jumps Taz to start off the match, but Taz plants him with a belly to belly suplex.  He tosses Storm outside, then pounds him with right hands.  He whips Storm into the rail, then nails him with a ‘Brooklyn Boot’.  He tosses him back inside and decks him with a clothesline, then holds up both arms and screams out ‘FUCK THE WORLD’.  Storm gets a cheap shot in and then takes over, hitting a suplex.  He goes outside and hits a springboard missile dropkick.  Storm nails Taz with some punches, but Taz starts to no-sell them.  Storm ducks a clothesline from Taz and goes for a superkick, but Taz catches his leg and hits a capture suplex!  Taz plants Storm with 3 straight T-bone suplexes, then locks eyes with Owen and gives the cutthroat sign.  He locks on the Taz-mission, and Storm starts tapping out!

Here is your winner . . . the ‘Human Suplex Machine’ . . . TAZ!

Owen hits the ring after the match and starts brawling with Taz.  Taz locks him in the Taz-mission, but Storm breaks it up.  Owen grabs the SSW title and KO’s Taz with it!  Storm and Owen put the boots to Taz until out of the back runs John Cena!!!!  Cena hits the ring and evens the odds, but the SSW tag champions the Hart Foundation also hit the ring.  Then out of the back comes CM Punk!!!!  Punk, Cena, and Taz clear the ring of the Hart Foundation!  Punk leaves the ring and stares down Cena, saying that he is not going to be able to get rid of him that easily!  Taz and Cena are left in the ring, and they stare each other down as the show ends.
