SHOOTING . . .STARS . . . WRESTLING!!!!

The opening SSW promo airs to ‘MILLIONAIRE’ by Queens of the Stone Age

The screen is blank for a moment as we can here the fans chanting ‘S . . . S . . . W!!!! . . . S . . . S . . . W!!!!’ The screen comes up on a rowdy arena full of fans pumping their fists as strobe lights go off through the venue and the camera zooms in and out. We go to ringside with Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan.

Mike – ‘Hello fans, and welcome to Shooting . . . Stars . . . Wrestling!!!! We are live from the Chevrolet Center in Youngstown, Ohio for another big night. And Joe, can you believe we are less than 2 weeks away from the start of the Great American Bash????’

Joe – ‘I know Mike. The Bash is going to get kicked off in St. Louis on July 1st, and it rolls through the home of the Cleveland Indians on July 4th for the national broadcast here in SSW!’

Mike – ‘That’s right. We here in SSW are stoked about hosting the live broadcast of the Bash, and tonight we are going to find out who will be facing the NWA World Heavyweight champion on July 4th.’

Joe – ‘That’s right Mike, and we learned before the show came on the air that Owen Hart vs. Bryan Danielson is going to start off the show tonight!’

Mike – ‘That is huge! SSW General Manager Shane McMahon is going to give that match all the time it needs because he wants to make sure we will have a winner. So sit back fans, because we are about to find out who from SSW is going to be facing the champion!’

Winner gets the world title shot at the Great American Bash

SSW Pure Champion ‘American Dragon’ Bryan Danielson
Weight: 185 lbs
Hometown: Aberdeen, Washington
Music: ‘The Final Countdown’ by Europe
Finisher: Cattle Mutilation
vs.

SSW Genesis Champion Owen Hart
Weight: 227 lbs
Hometown: Calgary, Alberta Canada
Music: Hart Foundation Theme from WWE
Finisher: The Sharpshooter

Danielson and Owen stand across the ring from each other as the introductions are made. Both men get nose to nose, then the bell rings and they circle each other. For 5 minutes, both men go back and forth, exchanging holds and reversals. Danielson gets the better of Owen at the onset, beginning to work the arm over. Owen responds, hitting a headscissors on Danielson. Owen hits a leg trip and covers for a 1 count, then Danielson responds with one of his own and a cover for another 1 count. Owen gets a side headlock, but Danielson reverses into a headscissors that Owen bridges out of and gets a backslide for a 2 count. They pop up and Danielson gets a small package for another close 2, and then both men spring up and are faced off as the crowd gets on its feet. Danielson and Owen are face to face again as we have to take our first . . .

PROMO

We see an old-time TV set as the image of an American Flag waves across the screen. The national anthem is playing, sounding like it is playing on an old record player. The image of the flag changes to a shot of people eating hotdogs and apple pie, then a shot of a baseball game. Then the anthem slowly switches from old-timey to a heavy metal version and the black and white images are replaced with images of wrestling matches featuring competitors from SSW. The Great American Bash will air live nationally on July 4th from the home of America’s past time, Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio.

Commercial Break

Back from break, the match continues as Danielson is working on the arm of Owen. Owen keeps trying to escape, but he just locked into another hold by Danielson putting pressure on the arm. Owen reverses the move, but Danielson knocks his arm away and hits a standing drop kick. Danielson nails Owen with several European uppercuts, but Owen catches him with a spinning wheel kick. Owen goes for the enziguri but Danielson ducks and then locks Owen the Mexican surfboard! Owen is screaming in pain but Danielson has to let go to avoid his own shoulder being pinned to the mat. Owen backs off, but then thumbs Danielson in the eye to buy time. He hits a gutwrench suplex, then drops a leg on Danielson for good measure. He goes up top, but Danielson is there to meet him and they fight up there. Eventually, Danielson gets the upper hand and hits a super-plex! Danielson goes to the apron and tries to springboard in, but Owen recovers in time and manages to drop kick Danielson right in the knee as he comes down!

Owen goes to work on the knee, hitting a Dragon Screw leg whip and then locking in a leg lace. Danielson fights out, but Owen nails him with the enziguri and then laying his leg across the middle rope and jumping down on it with all his weight. Owen goes for an Indian deathlock, but Danielson gets to the ropes. Owen lets Danielson up, but gets met with a boot to the face as he charges in. Danielson comes off the 2nd rope and floors Owen with a diving European uppercut. Danielson tries to walk off the pain in his knee as Owen rolls outside, but when he goes after him Owen pulls his legs outside and rams his knee into the ring post, then locks him in the figure four around the post!!!! Owen slides in and grabs the leg again, but Danielson gives him a taste of his own medicine and hits an enziguri! Both men are down . . .

Mike – ‘Fans, stay with us. We have to take another . . .’

Commercial Break

We come back to live action just in time to see Danielson leap off the top turnbuckle with a diving headbutt on Owen. Cover for the 1 . . . 2 . . . NOOOO! Owen kicks out! Danielson picks Owen up in a vertical suplex, but then spins him into a sit-out powerbomb for another 2 count! Owen kicks out again! Danielson waits for him to get to his feet, then goes for a roaring forearm but Owen ducks and hits a German Suplex out of nowhere for a 2 count! Both men are down for a bit, but Owen hits a bulldog on Danielson and starts getting back the momentum. He goes up top, then drives a top rope elbow into the heart of Danielson and gets another 2 count! Owen finally nails the enziguri on Danielson for another 2, then he scoops him up in a tombstone piledriver attempt. Danielson reverses, only to have Owen reverse it again. Danielson reverses it one more time, but Owen grabs his leg and trips him forward, coming up with the leg and trying to lock on the sharpshooter. Danielson spins away, sending Owen flying, then hooks him in a Tiger Suplex. The ref counts 1 . . . 2 . . . NOOOO! Owen kicks out! Danielson holds on, and then turns it right into the Cattle Mutilation! Owen does not tap, and he inches toward the ropes and forces Daneilson to break it. He turns Owen over, trapping the arm and raining down the elbow strikes on his head. Owen covers up and manages to turn inside, nailing Danielson with a low blow to break it the move!!!! Owen goes for another tombstone piledriver again, but Danielson slips off the back and catches Owen with a ‘Regal-plex’ out of nowhere! The ref counts 1 . . . 2 . . . 3!!!!

And here is your winner, in 38 minutes and 48 seconds . . . and the man that will get the world title shot at the Great American Bash on July 4th . . . ‘American Dragon’ Bryan Danielson!!!!

The fans are on their feet, giving both men a standing ovation. Owen is pissed and is throwing a fit in the ring as we go to break again.

PROMO.

The Motor City Machine Guns talk about how the Gods of Gravity are just ‘MCMG wannabes’. Ever since they came to SSW, they have targeted the Guns because they know the Guns are better than they are. They tried to take them out, but didn’t get the job done. Now the guns are looking for them, and they are running scared. Sabin talks about the upcoming Bash, and that SSW is going to represent to the rest of the NWA. The Guns want to represent as well, and they are owed a tag title shot. Except they don’t want the shot at the SSW tag titles . . . they want a shot at the NWA World tag team titles!!!! Shelley tells Shane McMahon that he needs to make that match happen because that is the match that every SSW fan wants to see!

Commercial Break

Mike – ‘What an amazing match we just witnessed fans! Bryan Danielson will be moving on to face the NWA World Heavyweight Champion at the Great American Bash on July 4th!’

Joe – ‘And who knows who that will be. The last 3 years the NWA World champion going into the Bash has lost the title.’

Mike – ‘Fans, Owen Hart is still in the ring protesting, but we have more show coming at you. We are going to see Team Domination taking on the Hart Foundation in a non-title match, plus we are going to have the ever popular ‘3 way dance’ featuring ‘Sugar’ Shane Helms, Yoshihiro Tajiri and Kofi Kingston.’

Owen Hart is still throwing a fit still, and he says that he is not leaving the ring because he deserves to be the one to challenge for the world title at the Bash! This brings out General Manager Shane McMahon, who tells Owen not to worry. Now we are going to be able to see the SSW Genesis title defended at the Bash as well. Because Owen is going to be defending the title in a steel cage!!!!

Mike – ‘That is huge news fans! The SSW title is going to be on the line at the Bash, and it is going to be inside a steel cage!!!!

Shane then tells Owen that the man he will be facing at the Bash is none other than . . .

‘WAR MACHINE’ by Kiis hits and out comes . . .

‘The Human Suplex Machine’ TAZ!!!!

Owen is livid, shaking his head no as Taz comes out on the ramp next to Shane and gives Owen the cutthroat sign.

We get a promo backstage of Kurt Angle trying to fire up Team Domination for their non-title match against the hart Foundation tonight.

3 way dance:
‘Sugar’ Shane Helms
vs.
Yoshihiro Tajiri
vs.
Kofi Kingston

The action is all over the place in this one at the start. Tajiri sends Helms outside and peppers Tajiri with buzzsaw kicks, but Helms climbs to the top and lays both men out with the hurricane flying bodypress. As they are down, Helms goes for the shining wizard on Tajiri but he ducks, and Helms nails Kofi instead. Tajiri gets whipped into the corner, but catches Helms charging in and hooks him in the Tarantula. Tajiri is defenseless though, and Kofi is up and nails him with the ‘Trouble in Paradise’. Tajiri is down, and Helms and Kofi exchange a blistering set of moves and reversals, ending with Helms nailing him with the ‘Sugar Smak’ (super kick). Helms clibs back up top, but Tajiri is there to cut him off and he hits a 2nd rope brainbuster!!!! Kofi breaks up the pin, but Tajiri hits the handspring rebound elbow on Kofi but the ref gets knocked down as well. Suddenly, ‘WAR MACHINE’ by Kiss hits and out comes Taz!!!! Taz gets in the ring and gets nose to nose with Tajiri.

Mike – ‘Taz is back! And he is face to face with the man that took him out a few weeks ago, the hired assassin . . . Tajiri!’

Taz points at his chin and dares Tajiri to hit him. Finally, Tajiri hauls off and tries a head kick, but Taz ducks underneath and then plants Tajiri with a Dragon Suplex!!!! Taz picks Tajiri up and locks on the Taz-mission, choking him out!!!! Finally, Taz lets go and tosses Tajiri to the ground like a rag doll. He raises his arms and yells ‘FUCK THE WORLD’, then he leaves the ring. Meanwhile, Kofi climbs up top and hits a frog splash for the pin on Tajiri, eliminating him!!!! The match continues for a few moments after that, and Helms tries to sneak up behind Kofi and roll him up. Kofi kicks out and slams Helms, but misses the leg drop with theatrics. Both men are up, but Kofi misses the ‘Trouble in Paradise’ and Helms manages to hook him up and hit the ‘Vertea-breaker’ for the pin!

Here is your winner . . . ‘Sugar’ Shane Helms!!!!

Commercial Break

IN THE BACK: We see CM Punk and John Cena having to be separated by the SSW locker room. Cena says that he got even with Punk, but it was not how he wanted. Punk ‘punked out’ last week and he is a chicken shit! Punk says that he beat him by countout, and that means nothing. Punk is ‘straight edge’, and he is better than Cena. Shane McMahon comes in and says that they need to break it up, and he has a solution. He says that he tried to announce the first big match for the Bash last week and got interrupted. Well, he is going to make that announcement now. At the Bash, it is going to be Cena vs. Punk in a good, old fashioned 2 out of 3 falls match! But not just any match. There will be no countouts or DQ’s. First fall will be a street fight, 2nd fall will be submission-only, and 3rd fall will be a cage match!

Non-title match:

(SSW tag team champions) Hart Foundation (Teddy Hart & DH Smith)
vs.
Team Domination (Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin)

We are running short on time as this match begins, and Team Domination immediately go to work on Teddy. Teddy shows his athleticism, hitting a springboard drop kick that takes out both members of Team Domiantion, then he hits a corkscrew splash onto Benjamin on the outside. Benjamin gets isolated on the bad side of the ring, and the Foundation work him over good. Every time he gets to the corner to tag Haas, the ref gets distracted and doesn’t see the tag. Finally, Has gets fed up and hits the ring, taking out both members of the Foundation. All four men end up going at it, and the ref quickly loses control. In the melee, Jimmy Hart tosses the megaphone in to Teddy, but he misses Shelton and KO’s his own partner instead! Haas and Benjamin hit a double flapjack on Teddy, then Haas locks the ‘Haas of Pain’ in on Harry! Harry is out, and the ref checks his arm and raises it once . . . twice . . . three times!!!! Team Domination has beaten the SSW tag champs!

Mike – ‘Things continue to go wrong for the Hart Foundation. That is a big win for Haas & Benjamin.’

Joe – ‘I wouldn’t be surprised if that puts them in line for a shot at the tag titles some time down the line. Hey, wait a minute . . .’

Lance Storm hits the ring and helps Teddy and Harry attack Team Domination. Storm has a flagpole with the Canadian flag on it, and he whacks both Haas and Benjamin with it. Teddy and Harry pick Haas up and hit the ‘Hart Attack 2.0’ (springboard doomsday blockbuster), then Storm lays Shelton out with a ‘Deep Impact’ piledriver.

Cameras backstage show Kurt Angle laying in the locker room unconscious, the victim of an obvious attack earlier in the night.

Back in the arena, Storm covers Haas and Shelton with the Canadian flag and demands that the Canadian national anthem play as the show goes off the air
