Live from the Akron Civic Center in Akron, Ohio . . . this is . . .

Shooting Stars Wrestling #16 SSWlogo

SHOOTING . . .STARS . . . WRESTLING!!!!

Before the show comes on the air, we get promos from the Final Four competitors in the Pure title tournament. After tonight, we will be down to the final two that will do battle at Wrestle War for the Pure title.

Danielson – ‘Brent Albright . . . Shooter . . . tonight is the night. Tonight we find out exactly who is the best pure wrestler. You say that you are, and I KNOW that I am. There is a reason why I am the ‘Best in the World’ and you are going to find out tonight. I respect you, but make no mistake. I will do whatever it takes . . . whatever it takes . . . to prove to you, to prove to myself, and to prove to all the people out there that I am the Best Wrestler in the World!’

Albright – ‘Bryan Danielson, there is no doubt that you are one of the best wrestlers in the world. But you’re not the best. That honor belongs to a former 7 time amateur freestyle champion. That honor belongs to the man with the most feared finisher in the NWA . . . The Crowbar. That honor belongs to the Shooter. Tonight, we are both going to test ourselves. And after tonight, the Shooter is going to the finals, and I’m taking your shoulder with me as a trophy!’

Angle – ‘Tonight, Team Domination continues to make its mark in SSW. Finlay was the first to be ‘dominated’ last week, and this week I take on maybe one of the best Canadian athletes in the NWA in Lance Storm. Storm, you’re a great athlete, but let’s face it. You’re not even in my league. How many Gold Medals have you won? I thought so. This Pure Division was made for a guy like me. After tonight, your Olympic Hero and this wrestling machine is going to be going to the Finals. Oh, it’s true . . . it’s damn true!!!!’

Storm – ‘If I can be serious for a minute. All you people out there need to listen up. Tonight, I am going to show all of you exactly what being Canadian is all about. Kurt Angle, your Olympic Gold Medalist, is going to find out. I have said it before and I will say it again, Canadian athletes are superior to American athletes in every way. And when I advance to the finals, I will be one step closer to the Hart Foundation securing all the gold in SSW. And the only thing I have to say about that is: Don’t blame Canada . . . blame yourself!!!!’

The SHOOTING STARS WRESTLING promo airs to ‘LIGHT IT UP’ by Rev Theory

The screen is blank as we hear the fans in the arena chanting ‘S . . . S . . . W!!!! . . . S . . . S . . . W!!!!’ The screen comes up on a rowdy arena full of fans pumping their fists and chanting along as strobe lights go off and the camera pans through the crowd. Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan are standing ringside.

Mike – ‘Hello wrestling fans! And weeeeeeelcome to Shooting . . . Stars . . . Wrestling!!!! At the top of the program you heard from the four men that will face off in the semi-finals of the Pure title tournament, and after tonight we will be down to just 2. Those two men will go on the Wrestle War this Sunday to determine the first ever Pure Champion!’

Joe – ‘That is HUGE Mike! The Next Chapter is going to be in the house at Wrestle War, but not just in that match. We learned last week that CM Punk will also be in action at Wrestle War, and he will take part in the first ever ‘Money in the Bank’ Ladder match! The winner of that match gets a shot at whatever NWA title they choose. It can be a World title, or even a promotional title like the Genesis title!’

Mike – ‘But that is not all the news surrounding the ‘Straight-Edge Superstar’. Just days ago on Nextchapter.com, General Manager Shane McMahon announced that the match that every SSW fan wants to see . . . CM Punk vs. John Cena . . . has been officially signed and will take place at NWA LIVE III coming up on May 17th!

Joe – ‘Fans, there is so much going on in SSW right now, and it is going to be a big night as we are on the road to Wrestle War! Wait a minute . . . what is this?’

‘MISERIA CANTERE: THE BEGINNING’ by AFI hits and out comes the man that will be in the first ‘Money in the Bank’ Ladder match . . . CM Punk!!!!

Punk – ‘You know, it is good to be CM Punk right now. Why, you ask? Because CM Punk’s star is on the rise not just in SSW, but in the entire NWA! Shane McMahon may have put all of his stock and this company’s stock into John Cena, but there is only one person that has taken it to the next level and that is C . . . M . . . Punk. That is why I am the one in the Money in the Bank match. Speaking of which, I wonder where John Cena will be this weekend? Oh, that’s right, he’ll probably be hanging out in his Mom’s basement with all his buddies from high school watching CM Punk on pay per view. And after I win the Money in the Bank Ladder match, I will have the right to challenge for any NWA title I want. But before I do that, there is one more piece of business I have to take care of. And that is you John Cena. It is no secret that I am straight-edge, and I am simply better than you, but now I get to prove it because on May 17th, at NWA LIVE III, it is going to be CM Punk vs. John Cena. And you know what John? I can’t wait. I can’t wait to show you and all these people who the better man is. See, my issues with the Hart Foundation can wait, because this thing between us has to end. I’m in your head Cena, I’ve got your number!’

‘BASIC THUG-A-NOMICS’ hits and out comes John Cena to the ring. He stops in the isle and takes off his hat and tosses it into the crowd, then takes his shirt off and does the same thing. Cena is getting ready to charge the ring, but a bunch of SSW security comes out and blocks him. Shane McMahon comes out and says that he has a lot invested in this match between them and he is not going to let them ruin it. They both have the night off tonight, and if either one of them lays a hand on the other tonight they will both be fined and suspended. Punk and Cena stare each other down as we go to break.

Commercial Break

We get footage of Jamie Noble getting shoved down by Kofi Kingston last week after spitting chewing tobacco on him

Kofi Kingston
Weight: 225 lbs
Hometown: Jamiaca
Music: SOS by Collie Buddz
Finisher: Trouble in Paradise (450 kick)
vs.

Jamie Noble
Weight: 202 lbs
Hometown: Wheeling, West Virginia
Music: ‘Country Boy Can Survive’ by Hank Williams Jr.
Finisher: Tiger Bomb/ Trailer Hitch

Kofi goes on the offensive as soon as the bell rings, hammering Noble with forearms and tossing him into the corner. Kofi charges, then leaps onto Noble’s shoulders in one jump and hammers down with right hands. Kofi hits an armdrag, then a spinning heel kick that knocks Noble to the outside. Kofi goes after Noble, but as he crawls back in the ring he distracts the ref enough for Kash to get in a cheap shot on Kofi. Noble takes over, hitting a fireman carry into a double knee gutbuster for a 2 count. Noble tries to ground Kofi for a submission, but he fights back and hits a tornado DDT. Kofi hits a brainbuster and goes up top, but Kash is on the apron and shoves him off to the mat. The ref sees this and calls for the bell

Your winner as a result of a DQ . . . Kofi Kingston

Kash and Noble are not done as they continue to beat Kofi after the match. They pick him up in a double suplex, then drop him on his head in a double-team brainbuster. The fans pop as out of the back comes Elijah Burke to make the save for Kofi, chasing off Kash & Noble who do not appear happy about it.

Deuce & Domino are backstage. They complain about how they are getting disrespected by Shane McMAhon. They should be getting their rematch for the tag titles, but instead they keep having to fight these other tag teams. They are not some jobbers at the bottom of the ladder, they are Deuce & Domino, the former champs! They deserve their shot. Things better change around here and fast before they go elsewhere.

Commercial Break

The Hart Foundation music hits and out comes the SSW Genesis champ Owen Hart alone. Owen gets in the ring and tells Shane McMahon that his plan will not work. It doesn’t matter who he gets, no one is taking this title from him. He asks if Shane thinks he’s scared of Taz, and the crowd starts chanting ‘YOU’RE SCARED’! at him. Owen tells them to shut up, and he promises that he will still be the champ next week, and if Taz was here right now he would slap him in the face! Queue up ‘War Machine’ by Kiss and out comes the ‘Human Suplex Machine’ Taz to the ring!!!!

Owen is obviously intimidated by Taz, and he backs off when he comes face to face with him. Taz calls him a bitch and tells him to be a man and say that shit to his face. Taz does not back down, and he tells Owen that he is going to take his title next week and there ain’t nothing he can do about it. Owen gets in Taz’s face and asks who he thinks he is, pointing a finger into his chest. Taz looks down at his finger as he continues to jab it into his chest, but he grabs hit and tosses Owen over his shoulder to the mat with a judo throw. He immediately locks him in a cross-arm breaker, and Owen is tapping out!!!! The rest of the Hart Foundation runs down to the ring, and Taz lets go of the hold and stands to face them. He invites them into the ring, but they want none of him either and they back off, Storm goes around and pulls Owen out of the ring and Owen is holding his arm in obvious pain as they leave.

A promo airs for Wrestle War. It highlights the NWA World title match between SHAWN MICHAELS and GORGEOUS GEORGE WAGNER, as well as the first ever ‘Money in the Bank’ ladder match. Wrestle War is live from St. Louis in less than 6 days!!!!

Commercial Break

Pure title tournament Semi-Finals
Kurt Angle (w/ Team Domination)
weight: 232 lbs
hometown: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
music: Theme music from TNA
finisher: Olympic Slam, Ankle Lock

vs.

Lance Storm
Weight: 228 lbs
Hometown: Calgary, Alberta Canada
Music: ‘El Phantasmo & the Chicken Run Blast-o-rama’
Finisher: Canadian Maple Leaf/ Deep Impact

Angle shoots a double leg takedown on Storm at the very beginning of the match, then pretty much tries to keep the action on the mat the rest of the time. Storm surprisingly holds him own on the mat with Angle, but is forced to use 2 of his rope breaks to get out of submission holds that Angle locks on out of nowhere. Storm manages to fight his way off the mat and hit a spinning heel kick that rocks Angle, then he follows it up with a springboard missile dropkick. Storm goes to work on Angle’s leg, forcing him to exhaust 2 of his breaks escaping from the Sharpshooter and the Canadian Maple Leaf. Storm hits the ‘Deep Impact’ piledriver on Angle, but he gets his foot on the ropes and uses his final rope break to avoid the pin. Angle fights back, tossing Storm around the ring with various suplexes, and he gets him in the corner and rains down mounted punches. Storm tries to reverse the move into a powerbomb, but Angle holds on and locks in a triangle choke! Angle rains down elbows to the head of Storm as he is trapped in the move, but Storm uses his final rope break. Angle waits on Storm to get up and goes for the Olympic Slam, but Storm reverses it into a tornado DDT for a 2 count. Storm goes for a super kick on Angle, but he dodges and hooks Storm in a backslide. He takes Storm over, and his feet are hooked in the ropes. However, Storm is out of rope breaks and the ref counts 3!!!!

Here is your winner . . . Kurt Angle!!!!

Angle celebrates the controversial victory as he heads up the ramp, where he is met and congratulated by fellow teammates Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas.

Commercial Break

IN THE BACK: Mickie James is with Paul London & Brian Kendrick, the Gods of Gravity. London talks about how it is THEIR time now that the Machine Guns are out of the picture. That is the way it should be. They are going to show SSW that they are the top performers and not ‘wannabe’s’ like Sabin & Shelley. Kendrick disrespectfully runs down some of the other tag teams in SSW while Mickie just stares and salivates over them like an awe-struck fan. London issues a challenge to the Hart Foundation for a tag title shot.

Team Domination (Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas)
Weight: 480 lbs
Hometown: Orangeburg, South Carolina & Tulsa, Oklahoma
Music: Kurt Angle’s TNA music
Finisher: Dominant Force (Fireman carry flapjack by Haas into Flatliner by Benjamin)

vs.

Deuce & Domino
manager: Cherry
Weight: 475 lbs
Hometown: The other side of the tracks
Music: generic 50's music
Finisher: Crack 'em in da Mouth

Deuce & Domino are on a mission and they attack before the bell rings. After a few moments of brawling, Haas & Benjamin methodically take over and ground Domino with superior mat skills and work him over. Deuce gets a boot up to the back of Haas’ head as he comes off the ropes, and D & D take control of the match and keep Haas in their corner. Benjamin manages to get the hot tag in and takes out D & D with a double flying clothesline. Shelton hits the ‘Shell Shocka’ (T-Bone powerslam) on Domino but only gets a 2. Shelton goes up top, but Deuce is up and shoves him off to the outside. Haas catches Domino in a German Supelex, but Deuce comes off the 2nd rope with an elbow to the gut to break it up. They set him up for the ‘Crack Em in the Mouth’, but Shelton pulls the top rope down and Deuce spills to the floor. Shelton goes for a kick on Domino, but he catches the foot and spins him around and Shelton follows through with the Dragon Whip kick. Domino is dazed, and Haas scoops him on his shoulders and they hit the ‘Dominant Force’ (fireman carry flapjack by Haas into spike flatliner by Benjamin) for the pinfall!!!!

Ladies & Gentlemen, your winners . . . Team Domination!

Commercial Break

IN THE BACK: TAZ cuts a promo. His face is covered by a ripped up towel.

Taz – ‘Owen Hart, tonight you showed your true colors brutha. When you take away your boys, when you take away that jackoff screaming in the megaphone, your nothing but a pussy! You see, you don’t need to worry about CM Punk or John Cena. Because after next week, there ain’t gonna be nothing left of your sorry ass! Next week, with these hands, Owen Hart, with these hands I am gonna slap the Taz-mission on you and choke you out. And that belt that you love so much is coming with me. You’re lookin at the next SSW Genesis champ, and there ain’t shit you can do about it because I’m Taz, the Human Suplex Machine! Beat me if you can! Survive if I let you!’

Pure title Tournament Semi-finals
‘The Shooter’ Brent Albright
Weight: 230 lbs
Hometown: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Music: ‘Faint’ by Linkin Park
Finisher: The Crowbar

vs.

‘‘American Dragon’ Bryan Danielson
Weight: 185 lbs
Hometown: Aberdeen, Washington
Music: ‘‘Self Esteem (AMERICAN INTRO)’ by The Offspring
Finisher: Cattle Mutilation

These two put on an absolute clinic in 15 minutes of action. Danielson control the opening moments, and he surprisingly works over the arm of Albright. Danielson locks in a cross-arm breaker and forces Albright to use one of his rope breaks early on, but Albright starts a comeback. He catches Danielson with a belly to belly throw off the ropes, and then hits a Samoan Crash. Albright does not go for very many submissions early on, but he manages to trip up Danielson and lock on the Sharpshooter as Danielson goes for a butterfly suplex. Danielson is forced to go to the ropes and use one of his ropes breaks. Both men stand toe to toe and exchange hard chops and forearm shots, but Albright snatches Danielson’s arm and tries to lock on the Crowbar. Danielson fights it, and slaps Albright’s arm away and hits a standing drop kick. Danielson ties him up in a Mexican Surfboard and rocks back as the fans chant ‘Whoa! Whoa! Whoooooooooaaaaa!’ Finally, Danielson gets him up in the move, but his own shoulders are pinned to the mat and he is forced to release it. Albright reverses a whip and catches Danielson in a sleeper, but he reverses it into a Regal-plex for a close 2. Danielson knocks Albright down with a roaring forearm, then goes up top for the diving headbutt. Albright is up, and he climbs up and hits a super-plex on Danielson! Both men are down, but as they climb to their feet Danielson hits a Tiger Suplex on Albright for another 2 count. Danielson rolls through and hooks Albright in a crucifix, then starts raining down hard elbow shots to the side of his head. Albright manages to block it, and then hooks Danielson in the Crowbar out of nowhere!!!! Danielson is ready to tap, but manages to reach the ropes at the last possible second. Albright waits on Danielson to get up and goes for a half-nelson suplex, but Danielson dives forward, sending both men spilling to the outside of the ring. The ref starts his count, and gets to 12 before either man stirs. Albright makes it back in the ring first, but he tries to scoop Danielson back into the ring from the apron with a slam. Danielson holds on, rolling Albright into a small package for the surprise 3 count!!!!

Here is your winner, and advancing to the finals of the Pure title tournament . . . ‘American Dragon’ Bryan Danielson!!!!

Mike – ‘What a match by these two great wrestlers! Now we know it will be Bryan Danielson vs. Kurt Angle this Sunday at Wrestle War to determine the first SSW Pure Champion!!!!’

Joe – ‘I can’t believe it Mike! Danielson came out of nowhere with that Small Package to win it. This guy really is a complete wrestler! Kurt Angle is in for a big time challenge at Wrestle War.’

Albright and Danielson shake hands after the match, and a disappointed Albright raises Danielson’s hand in a classy gesture. However, Team Domination’s theme music hits and out comes the man Danielson will meet at Wrestle War . . . Kurt Angle. Angle and Danielson get nose to nose in the middle of the ring as the show comes to an end.

FROM WRESTLEWAR:

Tournament final for the SSW Pure Championship
Kurt Angle (w/ Team Domination)
weight: 232 lbs
hometown: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
music: Theme music from TNA
finisher: Olympic Slam, Ankle Lock

vs.

‘American Dragon’ Bryan Danielson
Weight: 185 lbs
Hometown: Aberdeen, Washington
Music: ‘The Final Countdown’ by Europe
Finisher: Cattle Mutilation

Both men get an equally good reaction from the crowd, and Angle comes out along with the rest of Team: Domination. They pump him up before the match and Haas puts his mouthpiece in, then they leave and go to the back. The bell rings and both men circle. The early goings in this one is a technical masterpiece, with Danielson shooting single leg takedowns and going to work on Angle’s knee. Danielson sets Angle up for the Mexican Surfboard, but instead of rocking back he stomps down on both legs, driving both knees hard into the mat. Danielson lets Angle up and they get nose to nose, then start trading hard slaps and European uppercuts. Angle catches Danielson with an arm wrench that takes him to the mat, and then goes to work on the shoulder of Danielson. Angle traps Danielson’s arm behind his back and hits a Northern Lights Suplex, but somehow Danielson manages to reverse out of a headscissors attempt and lock on a ‘Regal Stretch’ out of nowhere!!!! Angle is in trouble, but he manages to reach the ropes and use a rope break to get out. Angle absorbs some European uppercuts from Danielson, but catches him and plants a belly to belly. Angle goes to work on the arm again, Danielson slaps Angles arm away and hits a standing dropkick followed by a snapmare and a vicious kick to the spine. Angle’s eyes are wide and he stands up, then blasts Dragon right in the face with a vicious headbutt!!!! Danielson is cut above the eye, and Angle rocks him with a vicious lariat. Angle hits another belly to belly then goes for the Olympic Slam but Danielson slips off and hooks in the crossface chickenwing. Angle has to use another rope break to get out.
Angle bails to the outside and Danielson goes for a suicide dive, but Angle sidesteps at the last second and Danielson crashes to the floor. Angle hits a vertical suplex on the floor, then tosses him back in and hits a super-plex for another 2. angle shifts his attack to the back of Danielson, but he catches Angle by surprise with a diving European Uppercut from the 2nd rope. He sets Angle up top for the super back suplex, but Angle knocks him off and hits a moonsault for another close 2. Angle locks in the ankle lock on Danielson, and Danielson is forced to use a rope break to get out. Both men stand toe to toe and exchange slaps and European uppercuts, but Angle ducks a forearm by Danielson and hits a German, then holds on and hits a series of 4 rolling German Suplexes. Danielson manages to block the last one and go behind, hitting a Tiger Suplex on Angle!!!! Angle kicks out at 2, and Danielson holds on and goes right into the Cattle Mutilation!!!! Angle somehow does not tap out to the hold and manages to fight his way back to his feet, reversing the hold and taking Danielson over in a backslide for a close 2 count! Danielson is back up, but misses a roaring forearm and Angle catches him in the Olympic Slam!!!! 1 . . . 2 . . . NOOOO! Angle pulls the straps down, then locks on the ankle lock again!!!! Danielson fights, then manages to reverse it into a victory roll for a close 2 count. Both men scramble to their feet, and Danielson rocks Angle with a hard roaring forearm that nearly knocks him out. Danielson up top but misses the diving headbutt. Angle goes for another Angle Slam, but this time Danielson reverses it into a crucifix and takes Angle over. Danielson traps both arms, then starts raining down more hard elbow shots. Danielson hits a series of elbows, then rolls Angle over onto his stomach and locks in the Cattle Mutilation again!!!! Angle fights and manages to get his foot on the bottom rope, but he is out of rope breaks. Angle will not tap, and Danielson rolls back over and then starts raining down more MMA elbows!!!! Angle is defenseless and getting pummeled, and the ref stops the match due to Angle being unable to defend himself!!!!

Shelton and Haas immediately climb in the ring to check on Angle, who is woozy. Angle gets his bearings and tries to protest the refs decision, but to no avail. Danielson extends his hand to Angle, and he finally shakes his hand as he is given the title belt.
