Tony Schiavone: "Hello wrestling fans and welcome to The Road to Wrestle Kingdom! We are coming to you live from the mecca..... Madison Square Garden! And what a show we have for you. We are down to the final four in the tournament! After tonight we will know who will face off next week at the Tokyo Dome to become the New Japan Heavyweight Champion!" Jesse Ventura: "That's right Schiavone! And it won't be easy for any of them. We know that Minoru Suzuki was in a battle last week and there's no way he can be 100% and what about Sting? He just got busted open a couple of days ago! If you ask me, Misawa has the golden ticket after receiving a bye into this round!" Tony Schiavone: "We shall soon find out, but right now we are going to open things up with the WWF WWF Junior Heavyweight Title Match: Kenny Omega vs Tiger Mask This match was supposed to be at Lockdown , but Omega and Tiger agreed to have it on here as requested by NJPW , NWA and Vince himself . The two men as per custom in NJPW matches both respect the traditions . They wait for the introduction to go all the way through . They accept flowers and bow to the crowd . The bell rings and they circle one another . They lock up collar and elbow. Omega with a duck under go behind goes for a release German . Tiger blocks , spins out to the left now he attempts a release German , Omega drops down catches Tiger’s foot and scores a drop toe hold and from there works a makeshift ankle lock . Tiger rolls through , has the up position on Omega and now he works a standing Indian Death Lock ! Omega reaches up grabs the head and pulls Tiger into a Small Package !!! 1……..2……..Tiger gets out of it , both men back to their feet . They bow to one another and shake hands . The match continues . Tiger with a hip toss on Omega and then a dropkick sends him to the corner . Tiger monkey flips his man out if the corner . Tiger though runs right into a leaping lariat by Omega !!! The first big move of the match is finally scored .
Omega hits a snap Suplex on Tiger and then goes up top . Tiger staggers to his feet , Omega comes off with a Crossbody !! 1…..2…..Nooo !!! Tiger is out . Omega with. Face crusher and covers again …1……..2……Nooo !!! Tiger kicks out . Omega goes to pull his man up , he’s going for a double Underhook Powerbomb , but Tiger back drops out of it ! Tiger now with a Flying Tiger Space Drop !!! Tiger rolls his man back in , he hits a Tornado DDT on Omega !!! Tiger covers 1……2……Omega kicks out !!! Tiger pulls his man up and goes for a Tombstone Piledriver, but Omega locks out his body and gets off a Destroyer Piledriver on Tiger !!! Omega covers 1……..2…….Tiger grabs the bottom rope !! Omega pounds the mat in frustration ! Omega pulls Tiger up and puts him on the top rope . Omega now just dropkicks his man down to the floor . Omega now hits a Swanton Flip Dive out in the floor !! Both men are down !!!
They get back to their feet at the same time , the ref gets to 18 count as per NJPW rules and both men slide back in . They slide back in the ring and exchange forearm . The fans are on their feet . Omega with a Roaring Clothesline!!! He waits , Tiger staggers to his feet . SNAP DRAGON SUPLEX !!! 1…….2……..Nooooooo !!! Tiger kicks out . Tiger staggers up …. V TIGGER BY OMEGA !!!! Tiger staggers and falls out of the ring . Omega goes up top and goes for a Plauncha , but Tiger pulls off a rare desperation Superkick as Omega is coming down !!! Tiger rolls his man back in . A stunned Omega tries to pull himself up using the ropes , Tiger Feint Kick !!! Omega staggers backward … SPRINGBOARD CLOTHESLINE BY TIGER !!! Tiger now with a TIGER DRIVER 85 !!!! 1………2………3 !!! Tiger Mask is the new WWF Junior Heavyweight Champion ! He helps Omega to his feet . The two men shake hands and embrace , celebrating their epic war.
Tony Schiavone: "What a way to kick off the show! An incredible match and a great display of sportsmanship by both men in the end. I woukdnt mind seeing these two meet up once again!" Jesse Ventura: "Hey! Anytime that Omega or Tiger Mask is in the card, you can bet your going to see something pretty special!" Tony Schiavone: "I couldn't have..... now hold up! What's this all about?" Schiavone is interrupted by the appearance at ringside of......
Madusa: "Jesse Ventura! Is this really what you want to be doing? Color commentary with this fool? Your better than this! He sent me to get you Jesse! We have work to do! It's time! The plan is starting. Let's go!" Jesse looks at Madusa for a few seconds then takes his headset off and leaves with Madusa!
Tony Schiavone: "What in the world is going on here? Why was Madusa out here? And who is this "He" she was referring to? I'm just as lost as you are fans, but it looks like "The Body" has left with Madusa!" Semi-Final Match: Ricky Steamboat vs Misawa Misawa using his speed to get flash roll up’s and takeovers. After a HOT opening they settle into chinlockery. There’s a fantastic dropkick from Misawa right afterwards though and Steamboat bumps landing on his neck and staying there all folded over like a pancake. Misawa does something cool when Steamboat skins the cat. He lets him expend the energy then just dropkicks him over the top. Steamboat takes exception and brings the CHOPS!! Misawa responds with a frogsplash and a German suplex. He goes for a piledriver but that leads into a near falls, which leads into Steamboat holding Misawa down for the win. Steamboat advances to the finals!
Tony Schiavone: "How about the tenacity of Steamboat? Misawa was clearly the odds on favorite to win coming off the bye. But Steamboat is unphased by that and finds himself in the Finals next week!" Grudge Match: Kerry Von Erich vs Lex Luger Luger shows off to the crowd by doing a flex. C&E start, Luger shoves Kerry into the corner, then does a flex. C&E again, Kerry shoves Luger away just a bit and does a flex. Luger is mad. HE does the flexing!
Test of strength offered by Luger, Kerry doesn’t go for it at first, but then he does. Luger with the advantage. Kerry powers up, Luger with a knee to the belly and powers Kerry back down as Schiavonereminds the tv audience this is a batgle between the #1 and #4 contender for the NWA World title, so a very importantmatch for both men. Luger gets a two count and Von Erich powers up again. Kerry kicks out, runs with a shoulderblock, no movement, but then catches a boot from Luger and hits him with the discus punch.
Off the ropes, Von Erich caught in a bearhug. We stay in that for a bit before an ear clapper from Kerry breaks the hold. Luger with a double axhandle to the back, Kerry falls out to the floor. Von Erich rammed into the steps. Luger does some posing. Lex back out and rams Kerry into the ringpost.
Von Erich on the apron, blocks a right hand, hits a shoulderblock through the ropes, and then a sunset flip, which Luger blocks. Luger run into the corner. Another shot to the back from Luger. Von Erich up with some right hands, lifts Lex for a slam, but can’t hold him up and Luger gets two. The ref checks on Kerry as Luger goes to the corner and takes off the top turnbuckle pad.
Luger scoops Von Erich and hits a backbreaker. Luger misses a splash. Roundhouse rights from Kerry, off the ropes, clothesline. Clothesline. Luger still up. Discus punch! Cover, 1......2....... Luger gets his foot on the bottom rope.
Von Erich grabs a sleephold, but Luger lifts him up in a piggy back situation and runs backwards driving Vin Erich into the bare turnbuckles! Kerry is in pain! Luger hoists him up...... Torture Rack! Von Erich tries fighting out but is in too much pain and submits! Luger is your winner!
Tony Schiavone: "Luger got away with highway robbery there! But nonetheless, the #1 Contender gers the victory. We won't be able to fit his head through the door now!" NWA Super Juniors World Title Match: Jay White vs Chris Jericho vs Jushin Liger Liger attacks Jay White from behind to start, knocking him to the floor. Jericho gets on Liger, booting him. Jericho with chops and fists in the corner. Jericho can’t whip him, so Liger just elbows him down. Shoulder tackles in the corner. Whip into the corner, Liger hits a shoulder block. Jericho charges, Liger catches him and hits a running powerslam. Sets him up for a powerbomb, but here comes White to clip him in the knees. Liger whips White in, White gets the boot to the face. Liger boot to the gut and a snake eyes in the corner. Jericho trips up Jushin. When he turns around, White dropkicks him out, and then clotheslines him over the top. He comes outside, then hits a drop toe hold on Liger sending him face first into the steps. Jericho dropkicks Jushin on the floor knocking the back of his head into the steps. Back in, Jericho and White go face to face. Jericho wins at the start, then White comes back with a knee to the gut. Crowd boos White. Jericho takes him down for a Walls of Jericho attempt, but that gets reversed into a cradle for two. Whip in, Jericho gets a crossbody, White rolls through and uses the ropes for two. Jericho rakes his eyes, then puts him in the Walls. White is reaching for the ropes until he finally makes it, but then Jericho pulls him back out to the center. Liger comes in to deck Jericho from behind. He tosses him shoulder first into the ringpost sending Jericho out. White hits a DDT. White goes to spear Jushin, but Jericho comes in to clothesline him. He turns to Liger, so he spinebusters Jericho. White breaks that up. Liger goes for a spinebuster on White but it gets countered for a rollup for two for White. Liger ducks a charge sending him out. Jericho rolls up White for two. White charges in at Jericho, ducked and Jericho hits a bulldog. Springboard dropkick on Liger on the apron. White pops up, hits a Slingblade on Jericho, covers and gets the pinfall to retain the title.
Tony Schiavone: "Dont look now folks, bit Jay White is building a very impressive list of successful title defenses lately. In the span of just three weeks, he has defeated Rey Mysterio, Kevin Von Erich, Chris Jericho and Jushin Liger. And now next week in the Tokyo Dome he will defend against The Great Muta! That's a match that I can't wait to see!" The Mega Powers vs Ole & Arn Anderson Ole and Arn attack Hogan and Savage in the entry way ! Arn with a hammer lock on Hogan introduces his shoulder to the ring post . Ole bashed Savage in the back with a chair , passed him off to Arn who hit a spine buster out in the floor . They roll Savage in the ring . Arn with a second spine buster now . He tags in Ole , who comes in and works a seated chinlock ! Savage is in real trouble early on this match . Savage somehow finds the safety of the ropes . The damage has been done however .Ole tags in Arn . Arn with a big body slam and then a back breaker . He tags in Ole and he applies a body scissors. The fans explode as Hogan gets up on the ring apron and cheers Savage !!! Savage fights to his feet . Savage slams Ole to the mat and then tags in Hogan !
Hogan is comes in. Right hand to Ole . Arn comes in , big boot to him . Hogan goes for a big elbow drop and Ole moves !!! Ole stomps on the shoulder and now works a hammer lock !! Arn comes in , Anderson slam on the arm . Arn places the arm on the bottom rope and crashes down on it with a his full weight . He tags in and Ole comes in and puts on a step over Arm Lock !! Hogan is struggling not to tap . Savage cheers on his friend and partner . Hogan responds . He fights to his feet . Ole is on Hogan’s shoulders when he hits an electric chair drop !!! Hogan tags in Savage . Hogan hits Arn with the Ace Bomber as he’s coming in . Savage comes off the top rope …… ELBOW DROP BY SAVAGE !!!! He covers 1…….2…….3 !!! The Mega Powers win !!!
Tony Schiavone: " This Mega Power team may be a major force soon in the NWA. And with a win over the always tough, Andersons team, that van only shoot them up the rankings. If you ask me, the world tag champions, Blackwell and Patera, better keep an eye on this team!" Semi-Final Match: Sting vs Minoru Suzuki The bell sounds and Suzuki charges in but Sting moves. He works on him in the corner before sending him over the ropes to the outside. Sting hits a back body drop on the floor before rolling him back in. Suzuki recovers and hits Sting with a few uppercuts and a knee to the head. He stomps away on Sting and slaps on a headlock. Sting throws him into the ropes and takes Suzuki down with an arm drag. Suzuki gets back to his feet and gets out of the ring to regroup. Back in the ring, he tries to shake hands with Sting but he is having none of it. Suzuki shoots in and sweeps the leg and tries to pin Sting to the mat. He locks him in a chicken wing and hits a few vicious elbows to the head. Sting fights back and hits a Sunset flip for a two count. Suzuki quickly gets back to his feet and takes Sting down once again. Suzuki works him into the corner and hits an uppercut which has Sting reeling and he follows that up with a dropkick. Sting fights back and hits a suplex and tries to regain his composure. Suzuki is the first one up, though, and hits Sting with another shot to the head. Sting gets back to his feet and sends Suzuki into the ropes but both men take each other out with a shoulder block. He locks Sting in an armbar and reaches for the ropes for leverage. Sting mounts a comeback and puts Suzuki in the abdominal stretch but he quickly gets to the ropes. Suzuki punches Sting in the head and it knocks him back down to the mat. He works on the fingers but Sting gets back to his feet and starts to fire up. Suzuki hits a thumb to the eye that slows that down, and puts Sting in a Double Underhook. He throws Sting into the corner but he reverses it and hits a dropkick. Sting with a clothesline, and goes up top but Suzuki meets him there and hits a throw. He puts Sting in the Stretch but Sting gets to his feet and fires up again. Sting hits a flurry of offense and goes for a Stinger Splash but Suzuki moves and Sting crashes hard into the turnbuckles and his head bounces off the steel corner post. Suzuki is in the mat as Sting lays slumped on the turnbuckle. Lex Luger makes his way to the ring.
Luger is checking on Sting, who is knocked silly. Luger is trying to revive Sting and raises his limp body up. Sting, still groggy, staggers backwards and Suzuki rolls him up for the pinfall. Suzuki advances to the finals!
Tony Schiavone: "Ohhh my, I have a feeling that isn't going to sit well with Sting once he gets his senses back to him. Luger helping Sting, if you can call it that, actually cost Sting a trip to the finals!" NWA World Tag Team Title Match: Rock & Roll Express vs Ken Patera & Jerry Blackwell Patera comes in and tries to straight go for a takedown on Gibson , who side steps , slides under the attack and scores with a drop toe hold . Gibson plays it smart . Instead of transitioning to a head lock and giving Patera a chance to power out , he stays in the leg with a grapevine . He slams the knee into the mat and then puts Patera into kind of a reverse Figure Four . He reaches out and is able to tag in Ricky . Morton comes in and elbow drops the leg from the second rope , while Gibson pins it to the mat . Morton works a half crab . Patera turns his body and using the power of the upper body strength , kinds belly crawls to the corner and is able to tag off to Blackwell . Blackwell straight up comes in and clotheslines Ricky and then hits a big leg drop across the chest . He covers 1……2….. Morton kicks out ! Blackwell whips Morton into the corner and does kind of a Vader Bomb type maneuver. You can almost hear the air rush out of Morton’s body . Blackwell tags Patera in .
Patera slightly favoring the leg stays on the attack . He hits kind of a variation of a sidewalk slam and now works a Bearhug on the mat . Morton fights like hell to keep his shoulders off the mat , leading to several two counts . Ricky is beginning to crumble in the arms of Patera . Gibson becomes cheerleader. Morton is slowly showing signs of life . He gets to the ropes and Patera stomps on his chest and tags in Blackwell . Blackwell comes in and goes for an elbow drop , but Ricky gets out of the way . Blackwell hits the mat . Step Up Enzuguri by Ricky . He tags Robert back in . Robert bounds off the ropes at 100mph and hits a flying forearm as the staggered Blackwell is getting to his feet ! Blackwell on one knee . DOUBLE BASEMENT DROPKICK BY RNR !!!! Robert covers 1………2……..Blackwell with a foot on the ropes . Robert works a chinlock ! Blackwell powers to his feet and gets off a side slam . He stumbles to the corner and tags in Patera . As Patera closes in for a double axe handle , Gibson attacks low with kind of rolling clip to Partera’s knee that he worked on earlier .
Patera goes down . Gibson waste no time this time around , he goes right into a Figure Four !! Kenny is rocking back and forth thriving in pain . Blackwell tries to come in and elbow drop Gibson , but Gibson rolls to one side and Jerry hits the mat . This does allow Patera to get to the ropes for the break . Patera rolls to the outside to try and give the leg a break …. FLYING SPRINGBOARD FOREARM BY RICKY !!! Patera stumbles backward into the railing and hits his head . Blackwell on the other side of the ring while that was going on had tossed Gibson out and then Bearhugged him and slammed him into the ringpost where Gibson hit the back of his head . The two legal men are out cold on the floor . Blackwell and Morton have each now attended to their respective partners and are trying to revive them the ref hits the 20 count . The ring announcer tells us this match has ended in a double count out .
NWA World Title Match: The Rock vs Seth Rollins The match began with some trash talking as Rollins put his hand in Rock’s face and told him to just bring it. Rock was aggressive with a Samoan Drop for a two count. Rollins left the ring, Rock chased him back in the ring and tackled him. Rollins came back with a forearm. Seth trash-talked Rock followed by a slap to the face. Rollins missed a corner charge and Rock sent him face first into the mat. Rollins hit a stun gun that sent Rock into the top rope. Rollins got in some chops, Rock broke free and Rollins hit a spinning heel kick. Rollins with a suplex followed by the cocky pin. Rock powered out of a Boston Crab attempt, but Rollins stopped him with a back elbow. Rollins went up top and hit a missile dropkick for a two count followed by a chinlock. After about a minute of that, Rock came back with punches and Rollins put him down with an elbow again. Rollins went up top, so Rock backed into the ropes to crotch him on the top. Rock hit a superplex with his feet on the middle ropes instead of the top rope. Rock fought back with punches followed by an overhead throw across the ring. Rollins with the whip into the turnbuckle followed by the bulldog out of the corner. Rollins hit the kneedrop off the middle rope. Rollins covered for a two count. Seth argued with referee, which included Rollins and the ref shoving each other. Rollins went to the middle ropes, he jumped off, Rock caught him and Rock slapped on the Sharpshooter submission to a huge pop. Rollins makes the ropes to break. Rollins followed that with a Rock Bottom for a two count. Rollins continued the offense with a running back splash on Rock’s chest. Rollins teased a People’s Elbow, he ran the ropes, The Rock kipped up to his feet and tossed Seth over the top to the floor. Rock sent Rollins face first into the steel steps as referee left the ring with them. Rock cleared off the announce table. Seth sent Rock into the announce table and cleared off the table. They went on the table with Rollins teasing a Rock Bottom, but Rock fought out of that and Rock gave Rollins a Rock Bottom through the table.
Rock sent Rollins back into the ring and Rollins kicked out at the last possible moment. Rock tried for a Rock Bottom in the ring, but Rollins elbowed his way out of it and Srth slapped on the Boston Crab. The fans were screaming about it as Rock tried to fight it and Rock managed to get his right hand on the bottom rope to break the hold. Rock came back with an inside cradle for a two count. Rollins sent Rock into the ropes, Rock jumped off with a forearm, Rollins moved and Rock hit referee with the forearm to knock him down. Rollins followed up with the NWA Title and he hit Rock in the head with the title. Another ref rushed into the ring, 1.......2.......NO!!! Rock came back with a kick to the gut followed by a DDT for two. Rock hit Rollins with the spinebuster followed by the People’s Elbow to a huge pop. Rock covered, but onky got 2!! Rollins hit a low blow kick on Rock, then he sent Rock face first into the cornerpost and Jericho got a ROLLUP while putting his feet on the ropes for leverage as the ref counted three!! Rollins takes his title and heads backstage as the Madison Square Garden fans are in riot mode over the outcome.
