It’s standing room only inside the temple and the fans are RABID …. Pyro erupts from the ringposts and above the entranceway …. As the pyro explodes, the camera focuses on the MLW flag flying above the arena before panning the crowd …. We hear the voices of MAURO RENALLO and PAT McAFEE welcoming us to the show …. Mauro says MVP and Shane Taylor are getting the royal treatment ahead of Taylor’s title match against Killer Kross next week. Pat McAfee hypes tonight’s main event, with Deonna Purazzo defending the Diamonds title against Candice LeRae …. The Stampede Bulldogs will also make their Temple debut tonight as well as Adam Cole vs. Uhaa Nation …. We go up to the ring ….


TAYNARA CONTI
vs.
XIA LI

Xia Li once again looks good here, and is in position to pick up the win it looks like until she spots BOA watching her from the crowd again …. This throws Xia off her game and allows Tay to fire up, finally hitting the DD-Tay (Hammerlock DDT) to get the pinfall ….

Outside the ring, Xia is dejected …. For the 2nd week in a row, BOA approaches her and hands her a piece of paper …. She looks horrified reading it …. She snaps and hits the ring, viciously attacking Conti! Xia just wrecks her, and more refs have to come out to pull Xia off …. She storms out of the ring and makes a hasty exit as BOA watches ….



IN THE CATACOMBS –

There is a segment in the catacombs involving The North, War Machine and La Faccion Ingobernable where each lay their claim to challenging for the MLW tag team titles …. The North talk about how they knock it out of the park every time they get handed the ball, but yet they are never handed title shots …. War Machine talk about how there isn’t a tag team in MLW that can say they are worthy until they go to war with them …. La Faccion Ingobernable say they are Lucha Royalty and the Temple belongs to them …. The end result is the 3 teams meeting tonight in a 3 way dance ….


PROMO –

We get a promo hyping the Great American Bash on July 21st. An announcement is forthcoming concerning the location of the show, but the musical guest is announced as IMAGINE DRAGONS ….

The Bulldogs are OVER with the Temple crowd …. The Acclaim have some moments, but the Bulldogs get the win with their finisher, the ‘Calgary Stampede’, which is a powerbomb (Smith) + top rope mushroom stomp (Kidd) ….



IN THE CATACOMBS -

Charly is talking about tonight’s main event when Bobby Roode cuts her off …. He grabs her by the arm and orders her to follow him as he storms into Donald Trumps office ….

Roode cuts a promo on Trump and says this is how NOT to use someone of Bobby Roode’s caliber …. He is a star and he deserves to be treated like one …. Trump wants to make wrestling great? Bobby Roode is great and that is why Trump signed him …. He demands that Trump put him in the Openweight tournament that begins next week …. Trump agrees to do it, but says that glory in the Temple is earned in the ring …. Roode can have what he wants, he just needs to win …. And that match is next ….


BOBBY ROODE
vs.
JOHN BRADSHAW LAYFIELD

The former AWF champion is booed in the Temple as he comes out and cuts a promo talking about Border control …. This actually causes Roode to get a decent pop as the fans are chanting ‘GLORIOUS’ during his entrance …. Roode attacks the match with something to prove, but Bradshaw’s brawling style is more than a match …. JBL goes for the Clothesline from Hell but Roode counters with the Double R spinebuster for a 2 count …. The Glorious DDT finishes JBL ….


IN THE CATACOMBS –

BOBBY LASHLEY arrives at the arena and threatens the security guard to tell him where MVP is …. He pushes his way past him and goes looking through the Temple, and ends up in the ring ….

Lashley calls MVP and Shane Taylor out, and we hear MVP’s voice but it is coming from the top of the Temple and Trumps personal box …. Shane Taylor is sitting behind him with 2 girls in his lap that are pouring Cristal for him ….

MVP – “Hey! Hey Bobby! Calm down bro. Don’t get so heated. Coming out here all angry, taking it out on the peons backstage. I mean, how could you NOT see this coming? Oh, that’s right. Because I AM the one that did all your thinking for you! You could have had all of this too, but you let your ego get in the way. You were too worried about being the ‘Almighty’. You see, Im not about ego, I’m about BUSINESS. And I made a business decision. I went with the hottest young prospect in wrestling, ‘Your Boy Shane T’. The man that is going to be the next MLW champion next week …. So Bobby you just need to go to the back, check your ego, work hard and MAYBE when Shane Taylor becomes the next MLW champion he can give you a title shot ….”

Lashley doesn’t like that and leaves the ring to head through the crowd toward the skybox …. MVP tells someone to stop Lashley, and an over-sized bouncer steps in front of Lashley …. Lashley DESTROYS the bouncer and then starts beating the shit out of all the other security that tries to get in his way …. The ring rats go running off screaming, and Taylor attacks Lashley and busts a bottle of champagne over his head!!!! Lashley is down, and Taylor and MVP stand over him talking shit before walking off, leaving Lashley laying ….


– IN THE CATACOMBS

Charly Caruso is with Bianca BelAir …. She asks her thoughts on tonight’s main event between Candice LeRae and Deonna Purazzo ….

BELAIR – “Psssssffft. How you gonna ask me my thoughts on some weak and frail girl like Candice LeRae.”

CHARLY – “Well, Candice DID beat you to earn this title shot tonight …”

BELAIR – “Guuuuuurl, UH-UH! Just look at these shoulders. They were made for a reason, and that is because I am the one and only alpha female that everyone else in this division are content to hang on to and let me carry them to the top. Like Gina Carano. A failed MMA star, a failed movie star. I ain’t ever failed at NOTHING. That is why I’m the EST.”

Gina Carano walks up …

GINA – “You know Bianca, I see your mouth open and I hear words coming out. But no matter what you say, it translates in my ears as ‘I want to fight’. So if you want to fight, all you got to do is ask.”

BELAIR – “Guuuuuurl, UH-UH. I’m just keepin it 100 … You don’t even go here!”

BelAir starts taking off her hoop earrings like she is ready to fight right now. Charly tries to keep the situation under control. Gina stands there and doesn’t even flinch.

BELAIR – “You need to watch who you are talking to. Im not Becky Lynch, I’ll go straight hood on your ass.”

GINA – “Sounds like fun. Let’s do it.”

BelAir backs off and says they will do it on her time and they can do it next week ….


ADAM COLE
vs.
UHAA NATION

The action goes back and forth here as both guys look very good …. Adam Cole has not missed a beat since being off for almost a year, and we saw that when he beat Bobby Roode at MLW #26 …. Uhaa shows his athleticism and hangs with Cole the whole way, and gets a great rub in this match by going toe to toe with a former world champion …. There is an insane closing stretch full of false finishes, including Cole kicking out of the Apollo’s Chariot (blue thunder bomb) and Uhaa kicking out of the Florida Key ….. This one ultimately goes the 15 minute time limit with neither man being able to win ….

POST MATCH: Cole invites Uhaa back to the ring for the obligatory ‘5 MORE MINUTES’ as the crowd chants …. Uhaa acts like he is going to accept but ultimately passes on the invitation and goes to the back, leaving Cole to soak up the love from the fans ….


PROMO –

VALIFORNIA is in the back with SoCal Val …. Raquel Gonzalez stands behind Deonna Purazzo and Chelsea Gree, carrying all of Valifornia’s gold including the Diamonds title, the SHINE tag team titles and the UWF world tag team titles ….

PURAZZO – “You know, I asked for this time and then all I am asked about that is defending MY Diamonds title against Candice LeRae. That is an insult! Candice, all you are is a housewife cosplaying as a wrestler and you don’t belong in the ring with the Virtuosa. Tonight I am going to and destroy you systematically while the whole world watches. Because when it comes to womens wrestling, The Virtuosa IS the main event ….

Which brings me to YOU, Alexa Bliss. You call yourself the ‘Goddess’ of womens wrestling, but the reality is that the only reason you are the women’s champion is because the Virtuosa allows it. So I just want to say, ‘you’re welcome’. That’s right, you’re welcome for allowing you to not only be champion, but to remain champion. I hope that you have enjoyed your little ‘Summer of Bliss’, but that is all over on July 4th at the Great American Bash All-Star show. That is when you will come face to face with the most dominant force in women’s wrestling. And then, after we beat you and your little pet Nikki Kross, just like Candice LeRae you are gonna know that your time is up …. “



WAR MACHINE (Hanson & Rowe)

LA FACCION INGOBERNABLE (Angel Garza & Alberto Del Rio)

THE NORTH (Ethan Page & Josh Alexander)

Balls to the wall action in this one as War Machine starts on fire and wrecks the other two teams …. The North actually take control and work War Machine over while LFI watches from the outside content to let the other teams do all the work …. Garza comes in to break up the pin, and it breaks down into mass brawling …. War Machine runs wild with Hanson putting Page, Alexander, Garza and Del Rio in the corners and then hitting the running clotheslines for infinity …. Alexander cuts him off with a superkick and The North hit the Northen Assault (Torture Rack flipped into spinebuster) on Rowe but Garza breaks it up …. Garza hits the Wing Clipper on Page, but Hanson breaks it up …. Spin Kick of Doom takes out Garza and Del Rio gets hit with Thor’s Hammer …. The North break it up and Alexander hits the Death Knell (Chickenwing piledriver) on Del Rio …. Thors Hammer takes out Alexander and War Machine hits the Fallout on Del Rio to get the pin ….


IN THE CATACOMBS –

In the catacombs of the Temple, Xia Li is leaving the arena with her bags …. She still has her ring gear on and is leaving in a hurry after what happened earlier …. Charly Caruso catches up with her and asks why she attacked Taynara Conti? And what are the mysterious letters she has been receiving from BOA???

Xia stops and lowers her head …. All she says is ‘She’s coming’ …. Charly asks who is coming and all Xia says is the words ‘Tian Sha’ …. What does that mean? Xia just shakes her head and opens the door, only to find BOA is standing there! Xia drops her bags and takes a swing at BOA, but BOA catches her fist in his palm! He has her fist in his grip, and then her turns her arm over and draws a Chinese symbol on her wrist …. Xia looks down at it and immediately becomes afraid …. BOA leaves and Xia is just standing there staring at the mark …. She follows BOA through the door ….


PROMO –

We get one last promo hyping the beginning of the Strong Openweight title tournament …. It starts next week and is in Block format with the winners of each block meeting at the Great American Bash to determine the first champion …. We get a list of participants:

This match has a good build, with Deonna continuing to take Candice lightly as she looks ahead to the tag team match at the Great American Bash All Star show …. The fans rally behind Candice, who is in the role of the ultimate underdog here ….

Purazzo tries to embarrass Candice early on, leading to Candice firing up and taking control with strikes and hits the suicide dive into the tornado DDT on the floor! Candice has Deonna on the ropes …. Gonzalez is ringside and she gets involved, slamming Candice back-first into the ring post …. The ref tosses Gonzalez from ringside and sends Valifornia to the back …. Candice misses the Lionsault and Deonna goes for the Venus DeMilo, but Candice fights out and into the Gargano Escape!!!! Deonna counters out and works into a hanging armbar, but Candice escapes and hits Ms. LeRae’s wild ride for a good near fall …. Deonna gets desperate and grabs the Diamonds title from SoCal Val, but Candice avoids a belt shot from Purazzo and takes her down in the Gargano Escape in the middle of the ring! Purazzo is tapping!!!! She is tapping but the ref is distracted! Here comes Chelsea Green and she nails Candice with the curb stomp to break up the move! From here Purazzo hits the Queens Gambit (Styles Clash) and pins Candice to retain the title ….

Purazzo quickly grabs the title and leaves with Green and SoCal Val …. The look on Purazzo’s face tells the story here, as she knows that she has barely escaped with her title in this match …. Candice gets an ovation from the Temple following her performance here ….
