KING OF THE RING – The Elite 8
Live from the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan

The pyro goes off as we go ringside with Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg of SSW, who are here to welcome the fans to tonight’s show.  Tonight we will determine the Final Four of the King of the Ring tournament as the foundation of the UWF continues to be shaken.  We are also going to see 2 big UWF World title matches, as well as a big women’s tag team match that is going to kick off our show tonight!!!!

Match 1: Women’s Tag Team Match

(UWF Women’s Champion) Trish Stratus & (United States Women’s Champion) Lita
vs.
Hamada & Beth Phoenix

Fans are hot for this opener and the ladies put on a great show.  Domination by the UWF Women’s champ to start it off, as she and Beth go at it.  Hamada enters the ring and gets a cheap shot on Trish, allowing Beth to take over.  Beth and Hamada make quick tags in and out, but the fans urge Trish to rally.  Trish fights her way out of a Fisherman Buster attempt by Beth, then strikes out of nowhere with the Chick Kick and both ladies are down.  Trish crawls to the corner, then makes the hot tag to Lita just as Hamada is tagged in as well.  Hamada and Lita go one on one for the first time in the match!  Lita hits some forearms and then comes off the ropes with a clothesline that takes Hamada down.  Lita with a Thesz Press and rains down some right hands, but Beth knocks her off.  Trish is back in and she and Beth are fighting now, and the action spills outside.  Trish tosses Beth into the post, then tries to get on the apron.  Lita goes for the Twist of Fate on Hamada, but she shoves her off right into Trish!  The collision knocks Trish off the apron and sends her crashing into the railing, and allows Hamada to nail Lita with the Hamada Driver and score the 3 count!!!!

Back at ringside, Mike and Joe talk about how the crowd is hyped following that hot opening match.  That is a big victory for Hamada, who has been stalking the United States Women’s champion for several weeks.

IN THE BACK: Christy Hemme is with CM Punk, who is getting ready for his match tonight against Bruiser Brody.  Punk has an intense look on his face and he is taking up his hands.  Punk talks about the task that is ahead of him tonight, but says that he would not have it any other way.  He thrives on the competition, and if he WASN’T facing Brody tonight, he would be disappointed.  But tonight, he promises to make Brody be the one that ‘goes to sleep’.  He is going to be the first straight edge King of the Ring.

BREAK

PROMO airs for the next match, showing both men’s path through the tournament to get to this point.  Austin cuts a promo backstage, saying that he sat at home in the last round and had a couple of Steve-weisers while he watched his opponent, Ripper Collins.  Well, Stone Cold got tired of sittin at home and this week he is there to open up a can of whoop ass and go on to become the King of the Ring.  And that’s the bottom line . . . cause Stone Cold said so.

Match 2: King of the Ring Elite 8

(4) Steve Austin (XWA)
vs.
(2) Ripper Collins (HIP)

Collins clips Austin’s knee as he is up on the ropes posing for the crowd before the match, then he goes to work on the leg.  Austin cannot even get his jacket off, but he reverses a whip on Collins and hits the Thesz Press followed by some big time right hands!  Austin hits the forearm to the chest of Collins, and he rolls outside the ring.  Austin follows him, taking off his vest and choking Collins with it!  He whips Collins into the rail and then tosses him back inside.  Austin with the mudhole stomping on Collins, ending with the double bird.  Austin hits a suplex, then chokes Collins on the middle rope.  Austin goes for the body guillotine, but Collins moves out of the way and Austin straddles the middle rope.  Collins goes for the leaping DDT, but Austin shoves him off and goes for the Stunner but Collins catches his leg and hits a Dragon Screw leg whip!  Collins with a figure four to Austin, but Steve fights to the ropes.  Collins continues to stomp on the knee, but Austin summons the strength to catch Collins with a spinebuster off the ropes.  Austin hammers Collins with rights, then knocks him down with a back elbow.  Austin tries to get the feeling back in his leg, then he takes Collins up and hits a big super-plex!  Austin covers, but only gets the 2 count.  Austin sets for the stunner, but Collins tosses him off right into the ref!  Austin stumbles back and Collins spins him around but gets kicked in the gut and dropped with the stunner!!!!  Austin immediately hooks the leg, but knows the ref is down and tries to revive him.  LOW BLOW FROM BEHIND BY COLLINS . . . he rolls him up in a school boy . . . 1 . . . 2 . . . NOOOO!  Austin kicks out!!!!  Collins goes for the figure four again, but this time Austin kicks him off into the turnbuckle!  The ref is still groggy as Austin goes for another stunner, but Collins shoves him off again and this time Beuregard tosses powder into Austin’s eyes!!!!  Collins grabs him and hits the leaping DDT, hooking the leg and getting the 1 . . . 2 . . . 3!!!!  Austin kicks out right at 3, but it is too late.  Collins advances to the Final Four!

PROMO airs for the next match, showing both men’s path through the tournament to get to this point.  Gilbert cuts a promo, talking about how this tournament is already over and they should just stop and give him the crown right now!

Match 3: King of the Ring Elite 8

(4) ‘Hotstuff’ Eddie Gilbert (RWA)
vs.
(6) AJ Styles (SSW)

This one is a match up of Eddie’s experience vs. AJ’s athleticism.  They exchange holds at the beginning of the match, and it is clear that AJ is the faster of the 2 as he takes Gilbert down with lightning fast arm drags.  AJ bars the arm, but Eddie quickly maneuvers him to the ropes and pops him with a short right hand, then tosses him into the ropes.  AJ reverses and leaps over, nailing Eddie with the phenomenal drop kick!  Eddie bails out and AJ fakes a springboard dive, but Eddie grabs AJ by the leg and pulls him to the floor, causing AJ to hit his head on the ring apron!  Eddie tosses AJ into the railing, but AJ springs up onto the top of the rail and hits an Asai Moonsault!  AJ tosses him back in the ring and goes for the superman forearm but Eddie ducks.  AJ rolls to his feet, but Eddie scores with a standing drop kick!  Eddie picks AJ up for a back suplex, but AJ flips over and lands on his feet and then rolls Gilbert up from behind!  Gilbert kicks out at 2, shoving AJ off into the ropes and hitting a vicious clothesline on the rebound!  Eddie drops a big knee on the forehead of AJ, then drops an elbow for a 2 count!  Eddie tosses AJ into the ropes and catches him in the sleeper, and AJ starts to fade fast.  The fans cheer him on as the ref raises his hand and it drops once . . . twice . . . thr . . . NOOOOO!  AJ’s arm is up and he gets to his feet, nailing Gilbert with elbows to the mid-section!  He shoots Gilbert off but misses a discus clothesline and Gilbert slaps the sleeper on again!  This time AJ turns inside and nails Eddie with a big back suplex!  Both men are down!  AJ gets to his feet, nailing Gilbert with a couple of rights and then a discus clothesline!  AJ slams him, then hits the big high knee drop to the chest for a 2 count.  AJ calls for the Styles Clash, but Eddie back drops him over the top rope and AJ catches himself and lands on the apron.  SUPERMAN FOREARM BY AJ!!!!  1 . . . 2 . . . The fans boo and shower the ring with trash as Gilbert and Hart celebrate.  AJ is holding his groin in serious pain, and has to actually be helped out of the ring by the ref.  AJ gets standing ovation from the crowd as he leaves.

BREAK

IN THE BACK: Kelly Kelly is with Chris Jericho and she tries to get his comments on his match tonight with the red hot Tiger Mask.  Jericho dismisses this as another attempt for everyone to disrespect him.  He told everyone that he was their uncrowned King, and people still said he couldn’t do it.  No one said he would beat Maxx Payne, but he beat him fair and square in the middle of the ring!  Now people are talking about the roll Tiger Mask has been on.  Jericho doesn’t care, because he is going to beat Tiger Mask just like he beat everyone else.  You see, people like Eddie Gilbert can go out and talk about how they are going to win, but when Jericho gets in the ring, he backs it up because he is the very best at what he does . . .

Match 4: for the UWF Junior Heavyweight title

(Champion) Michael Shane
vs.
Tyler Black

Before the match, Evan Bourne, GWF Prodigy champion, makes his way out to ringside and joins Mike and Joe.  They wonder why he is here, and he is here to expose the tragedy taking place because he is not the one getting the title shot!  Who the heck is Tyler Black anyway?  In the ring, both men shake hands before the match and then they proceed to engage in a technical classic.  For several minutes they exchange holds and reversals, with neither man getting a clear advantage.  They end in several stalemates, which warrant good ovations from the crowd.  Black strikes first with a big forearm and then snap mares Shane, stomping him in the face.  Mike and Joe put over Tyler as the next big thing in the Junior Division, and that he has been rising through the ranks in SSW for quite some time.  Black nails the paroxysm on Shane followed by a standing shooting star press, but Shane kicks out at 2.  Shane fires back off the ropes with the flying forearm and both men are down.  Shane kips up and then slams Black, then he goes up top for the big elbow.  Black is up and Shane jumps anyway, and Black meets him in mid-air with a drop kick!  Black picks Shane up and power bombs him into the turnbuckle!!!!  However, Shane strikes out of nowhere with the Sweet Chin Music!!!!  Both men are down again, and Bourne is on the headset bitching about how ridiculous this is.  The fans deserve a better champion . . . a champion like him!  The ref starts his count, and Black is up by the count of 8.  Black goes for God’s Last Gift, but Shane reverses out of it and rolls him up for a 2 count.  They both pop up to their feet, and Black scores out of nowhere with the Pele kick!  He goes up top for the Phoenix Splash, but Bourne leaves the broadcast table and trips Black, causing him to be crotched on the top rope!!!!  Bourne slides in the ring and attacks Shane, forcing the ref to call for the bell!

Shane fights back, hitting the flying forearm off the ropes on Bourne, then Black clotheslines him over the top rope!  Bourne gets on the mic and says Black doesn’t deserve a title shot but he does and he wants it, and Shane accepts.  Black jerks the mic out of Shane’s hand, and says he was robbed and wants his rematch.  He says they should make it a 3 way dance, and Shane accepts the challenge for the Final Four!

Jericho is nearly in tears as he becomes the 2nd man to make it to the Final Four.  The fans give both men a big ovation for their efforts, and as Tiger Mask gets up the fans break out in a ‘THANK YOU TIGER!’ chant.
