Gateway to Progress Press Conference

 Gene Okerlund: "Hello.everyone! Gene Okerlund here on a special assignment in the beautiful Cleveland Browns stadium! I wish I had more information for you to share, but all I was told was to pack my bags and get on the next plane out to Cleveland! I do see many members of the associated press. And as I speak, I can see the owner if Gateway Wrestling,  Mike Smith..... along with the General Manager of Progress Wrestling,  Pat McAfee arriving at the podium.  Let's turn it over to them."  





Pat McAfee: "Thank you Gene! And welcome to everyone in attendance. Mr. Smith and I have, what we feelis a huge announcement to make. As you know, Progress Wrestling is approaching its one year anniversary on July 4th. And in very short time, Mr. Smith has made Gateway Wrestling a household name. But today, we are here to announce a merger between the two companies!"    




Mike Smith: "We feel that this is a huge step going forward for everyone involved, and we are excited about the future."                  

Gene Okerlund: "Gentlemen,  if I may? You proclaim a merger. But what does that do for all the contractual talent going forward? And why are we here in Cleveland?"              

Mike Smith: "Pat and I want to make this very clear..... this is not cut- throat business. This is a business merger! But just like any business mergers, there will be casualties. And after careful discussions, we have came to an agreement on how to handle that."            

Pat McAfee: "Which leads us to the answer of your second question...... why are we here in Cleveland? And we can now announce that Gateway and Progress will hold a joint card during the Great American Bash Tour on July 31st, right here in the Dawg Pound! There will be many match announcements to come, but what we can tell you right now is that every title will be unified! For example, whoever is the Gateway champion and the Progress champion when July 31st rolls around, will meet in a match to unify the titles."        

Mike Smith: "We are going to find out who the very best is with a series of under card matches as well. The people who lose the respective matches that day, will unfortunately find themselves no longer under any contract, and will become free agents!"              

 Gene Okerlund: "OHHHHH MY! What a blockbuster announcement! Just when you thought the Summer and the Great American Bash couldn't get any hotter! Fans, whatever you do..... make your plans to join us here in Cleveland on July 31st for history in the making!"              

WOW!! That is a HUGE announcement! This is gonna be a crazy summer
