I'm usually joined by the Brain here on commentary, but he hasn't been heard from since being ran off by Mr. Perfect last night. But nonetheless, we have a tremendous card lined up......"
Bobby Heenan: "HEY! Whats the big idea starting without me?"
Gorilla Monsoon: "So nice of you to join us Brain! We thought Mr. Perfect may have gotten rid of you for good after last night!"
Bobby Heenan: "Are you kidding? I wouldnt miss this show for the world Monsoon! Because tonight, one of the members of The Heenan Family will become the first ever Gateway Heavyweight champion!"
Gorilla Monsoon: "Highly unlikely! Have you seen who all is in this Rumble? And that's not counting the surprise entrants we don't know about! We will find out just who will become the Gateway Heavyweight Champion a little later, but right now, we have a incredible matchup coming your way!"
Gary Michael Capetta introduces Mustafa Ali and Dean Malenko respectively and then the lights go down and a spotlight hits and the crowd erupts as Capetta introduces........
Jushin Liger vs Dean Malenko vs Mustafa Ali
The fans go wild to begin and Mustafa offers a handshske to Jushin, who accepts. Malenko however is not impressed with all the sportsmanship and leaves the ring to talk trash to the fas as Mustafa scoring with an early dive. Liger cuts him off and lee hits the RANA to the floor on Malenko. Back in and Ali follows with chops on Malenko. Mustafa picks up the pace and hits the seated senton as Liger breaks up the pin. Liger works over Malenko and hits the corner dropkicks and back breaker for 2. Knee strike to Malenko but Malenko hits go to sleep as Mustafa makes the save. The back handspring kick follows, but Liger powerbombs Mustafa and covers for 2. Malenko hits the super RANA and Liger follows with a destroyer on Ali. They work into counters, but Malenko hits a pop up cutter on Ali for 2. Malenko heads up top and Liger cuts him off and hits the double stomp. Mustafa RANAs and cradles Liger for 2. The lung blower follows for 2. Malenko saves Liger from bloody cross, they brawl and Liger and Ali head up top. Malenko back over and hits a MOONSAULT SLAM ON BOTH MEN! Malenko hits a cradle driver, but Liger cuts him off with a reverse RANA. Knee to Mustafa and dumps him, and Liger hits a brainbuster on Malenko followed by a shooting star press!! 1.......2.......Mustafa tries to break the pin.......3!!!! Jushin Liger is victorious! Mustafa watches on as the ref declares Liger the winner. Mustafa applauds Liger, as Malenko leaves the ring disgusted.
Gorilla Monsoon: "Impressive debut for Jushin Liger here tonight as he lives up to the hype coming in here to Gateway!"
Bobby Heenan: "Wait!! That was Jushin Liger? I thought that was the Red Power Ranger! Who knew??"
Gorilla Monsoon: "WILL YOU STOP?? Plenty more action coming your way fans. Let's get back to the ring!:
Beer Money vs Power and Glory
Gorilla states on commentary that both these teams requested this match tonight after not getting along at Battlebowl. They started by brawling around ringside. Roma looked to piledrive Roode on the ramp but Roma ate a backdrop for his troubles. Hercules hit Storm with the suplex on the floor and joined Roma in the ring to double team Roode. Roode made his own comeback which allowed Storm a chance to climb back in the match. Storm hit Roma with a lungblower off the top. Power and Glory looked for a Spike Piledriver but Storm escaped, hit a frankensteiner on Hercules which Roode followed with a frog splash for a close near fall. Everybody hit a big move and all four men were down. Beer Money hit the Beer Money suplex. Beer Money connected with the DWI on Hercules to score the win!
Matt Riddle vs Jeff Cobb
Right from the bell Riddle goes for the knee but Cobb evades the move. Early on we see how evenly matched they were on the mat as both utilised their wrestling backgrounds to nullify each other. But when the action picks up and these guys start trading blows and suplexes it soon becomes clear that this match is something special. It almost becomes a game of ‘can you top this’ between the two, an example being Riddle goes for his rolling gutwrench suplexes so Cobb decides to just spin Riddle from side to side in repeated gutwrenches before suplexing him. Also the open hand chops that both guys lay into each other with echo through the arena and both men’s chests are beaten red at this point.
Riddle showed incredible strength to get Cobb up for the jumping tombstone and when Cobb kicks out at one and then the follow up is two fisherman busters the arena explodes. Cobb hit a destroyer followed by a pop-up German suplex that made the audience leap up out of their chair. Riddle somehow survived that and avoided the Tour of the Islands and hit a Bro To Sleep! Both men are down on the mat as the bell rings. The ref states the time limit has expired and rules the match a draw! Riddle and Cobb stumble to their feet as the audience gives them.a standing ovation. Riddle and Cobb shake hands in appreciation.
Capetta goes over the rules of the match..... your typical Rumble match..... to be eliminated, you must go over the top rope and both feet must hot the ground! The last man standing will be the Gateway Heavyweight Champion. Capetta announces the man who drew #1......... HAKU!!! Heenan is throwing a fit on commentary then Capetta announced participant #2....... THE BARBARIAN!!
The crowd is kind of shocked at first and then realizes how awesome this is going to be! The IWGP Tag Champions have no issues going right at it as they start beating on each other. Barbarian runs into a boot in the corner and Meng drops him with a running clothesline. He delivers some clubbering blows but Barbarian comes back with a slam and then his own clothesline. He delivers some clubbering and goes to a neck crank. Meng tries to dump Barbarian, as the Brain yells out NO on commentary, but Barbarian lands on the apron and comes back in with more blows to the back. The timer is off as Drew McIntyre is in at #3!
The Faces of Fear immediately team up to deliver a double clothesline that sends Drew to the mat. They double McIntyre with chokes and kicks. McIntyre gets to his feet and starts firing off right hands. Mr. Perfect is #4.
Heenan loves the fact that Perfect is going in with the Faces of Fear in the ring. That is until Barbarian gets tossed by McIntyre! Perfect and Drew work together to take Meng down and then turn on each other.
McIntyre gets to his feet and chokes Meng and then Perfect goes after Drew. He does a backflip sell off a head-butt which is impressive. Ricochet is in at #5 and McIntyre ends up tied in the ropes. Instead of working together, they turn on each other and that lets Drew get free and everyone is screwed again. Meng gets a lariat and Perfect continues to bump like a madman off anything McIntyre does to him. Austin Theory is #6 and he delivers an elbow to Drews head as it’s now four on one!
Mcintyre fights off all four of them and dumps Ricochet over the top. Perfect slams Meng as Theory is left alone with McIntyre. Doesn’t go well for him! Meng goes back to Mcintyre again. Drew chokes him out on the ropes.
Damian Priest is #7
Theory continues to attack McIntyre and really, as he is choking the life out of Priest at the moment. Drew is mauling Priest and Meng comes over with a shot and Drew chops the crap out of him. Theory tries and gets the same. Buff Bagwell is #8 and he walks right by Drew and chooses to flex his muscles for the crowd instead. McIntyre casually dumps Priest ovee as Perfect and Theory try to double McIntyre, so he stacks them up in the corner and squashes both. The timer goes off as Eddie Kingston is the next to enter at 9. Perfect backdrops Meng to the floor and The Brain is livid about it on commentary. Time for #10 and it’s Pete Dunne! The masses just brawl it out then McIntyre delivers Claymores to everyone and then we hear.......
ITS RODDY PIPER!!!!
McIntyer looks at out the NWA World TV champion, as Piper just gives that shit eating grin to Drew, allowing Pete Dunne to eliminate McIntyer! The crowd erupts as Drew is eliminated and Piper laughs it off and leaves ringside!
Theory hits a lowblow on Perfect! Kingston and Theory clothesline each other at the same time. Buff Bagwell is the only man standing. And what does he do? He flexes some more for the crowd until participant #11 comes out........
The crowd erupts as Warriors music hots and he sprints to the ring. Clothesline attempt by Bagwell but Warrior ducks and rebounds off the ropes and hits a flying shoulder tackle to Buff! Warrior throws Bagwell over to the floor! Theory runs at Warrior, who military press slams Theory over as well! #12 is Lance Archer!
Archer goes right at Warrior and slows his assault down. Kingston tries eliminating Perfect, but isn't successful. #13 is Diamond Dallas Page! Archer and Kingston cross oaths and knowing those guys...... the fight is on as the bodies start to fill the ring again. #14 is Tully Blanchard!
The brawl between Archer and Kingston goes to the ropes as Blanchatd wastes no time grabbing their legs and eliminating both of them! Kingston and Archer could care less and continue fighting to the backstage area as # 15 comes out....... MJF!
MJF immediately goes after Mr. Perfect! And they have a slugfest. Warrior eliminate Pete Dunne. Then tosses DDP out as well. #16 is Walter as MJF throws Mr. Perfect over the top! Heenen is ecstatic on commentary. Walter just starts chopping the piss out of everyone until he turns around and Warrior quickly clotheslines Walter to the floor as #17 is next.......
The crowd can't believe it! Reigns gets a massive pop. He enters the ring and him and Warrior have a stare down. The audience gets to their feet and chants "THIS IS AWESOME!" After a few seconds Warrior starts pounding his chest and they are about to collide until Blanchard takes out Warrior with a running knee and MJF attacks Roman! # 18 is Bryan Danielson! And the bodies pile up once again as we get closet to the end, the fatigue factor is setting in for some as #19 Andrade enters. Andrade goes after Danielson as Tully and MJF work over Warrior and Reigns until the last man, #20 comes out.... Randy Orton!
Orton enters and hits an RKO to Andrade! Then another RKO to his tag team partner and rival, Tully Blanchard. Danielson thinks quickly and throws Andrade over. Danielson then picks Tully up to do the same but before he can eliminate Tully, Orton delivers an RKO ro Danielson! Orton hits his pose as MJF tosses Danielson out! Orton picks his partner, Blanchard off the mat, only for Tully to hit a low blow on Orton! Tully tosses Orton over!
We are down to 4 men!! Tully..... Roman...... MJF...... and the Ultimate Warrior! The crowd erupts as all 4 men get in seperate corners. Reigns comes charging out and hits a Superman Punch to Tully! Warrior hits a shoulder tackle to Reigns! MJF throws Tully over to the floor! Warrior hits MJF with a clothesline knocking him over the ropes, but MJF lands on the apron. Warrior turns around...... SPEAR FROM REIGNS!!! Roman in the corner...... SUPERMAN PUNCH TO WARRIOR! Reigns tosses Warrior over to the floor! Reigns celebrates!!! The lights go off! After a few seconds we see the lights back on and there is.......
THE HOUSE OF BLACK!
Malachi sits on the mat as Brody and Matthews attack Reigns! Powerbomb from King to Reigns. Matthews then hits Murphy's Law (Pumphandle lift into Samoan Drop ) Malachi stands up and looks down at a beaten Reigns and the lights go back off! After a seconds they come back on and the House of Black are gone. MJF is still on the ringapron, sees Roman down on the mat. He rushes in and lifts Reigns up and throws him over the top, eliminating him! Your winner...... AND NEEEWWWWE GATEWAY HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION........ MJF!!!!!
Bobby Heenan leaves the commentary table and grabs the Gateway Heavyweight title and puts it around MJF's waist as the show fades to black!
