HUGE pyro explodes from the stage and entranceway as we are back in the home of AEW, Las Vegas Nevada …. 20,000 strong have packed the T Mobile Arena on the Vegas Strip and they are on their feet …. Joey Styles joins us ringside as VEGAS … IS … ALL ELITE!!


The show begins with the closing moments of the impromptu Fatal 4 way match for the tag team titles as the show went off the air last week …. As THE OUTSIDERS, THE REVIVAL, THE BRISCOES and the STEINERS were locked in a 4 way battle, EDDIE & CHAVO GEURRERO made their AEW debuts, taking advantage of the chaos to STEAL the AEW tag team titles!  After a ref bump, EDDIE would hit a frog splash on DAX HARDWOOD, then use the unconscious referees hand to count the fall, making it official!  EDDIE & CHAVO would high-tail it through the crowd in possession of the tag belts!




HALL & NASH would protest the decision after the match, with the ref saying he didn’t know what happened …. NASH loses his cool and powerbombs the ref!  More refs come out to the ring to check on the fallen ref, but NASH attacks them and powerbombs 2 more refs …. This time HALL is the one to pull NASH off, but NASH shoves his partner down!  NASH walks out of the ring, leaving HALL and X-PAC behind ….


We follow this up with DANA WHITE coming out to the ring …. Last week’s show ended in controversy but he is here to tell everyone that CHAVO & EDDIE GUERRERO are signed to AEW, but they are NOT the AEW tag team champions …. WHITE orders THE GUERREROS to return the tag team titles by the end of the night ….

We go back to JOEY, who hypes the main event …. The entire show is built around the showdown between SHAWN MICHAELS and THE ROCK for the AEW title …. JOEY announces a women’s gauntlet match for next week to determine the next challenger for TESSA BLANCHARD’s AEW womens title ….

MATCH 1: BETH PHOENIX vs. DAKOTA KAI ———— Women’s Match

Hard hitting match that sees BETH get the win after hitting the Glam Slam ….

POST MATCH: BETH cuts a promo and says that her and ASUKA never got a chance to get in the ring for the IWA Women’s title, but she promises that she will see ASUKA next week in the gauntlet match ….


VIDEO PACKAGE -

The HOUSE OF BLACK’s recent rampage is highlighted … we see their attacks on ADAM PAGE and AJ STYLES  in recent weeks as well as their attack on BRIAN CAGE last week … It is announced that BRIAN CAGE has been injured and will surrender the United States title …. We will crown a new champion in a 16 man tournament …. Beginning next week ….


MATCH 2: KURT ANGLE vs. MARCEL BARTHEL w/ Imperium ———— Singles Match

These guys tear it up as IMPERIUM continues to try to recruit ANGLE …. This is a great display of strong style and technical wrestling …. BARTHEL is able to counter the ankle lock by rolling ANGLE head-first into the buckles, but as BARTHEL goes to the top rope ANGLE pops up and runs up the ropes hitting a top rope Angle Slam!!!!  ANGLE hooks the leg and gets the 3 count ….

POST MATCH: WALTER and AICHNER enter the ring, but WALTER holds AICHNER back from going after ANGLE …. WALTER says ANGLE passed his test and now he wants him to stand with IMPERIUM …. ANGLE says ‘no thanks’ …. WALTER says that is unfortunate that ANGLE does not respect their vision of a better AEW …. BARTHEL & AICHNER attack ANGLE from behind, but he fights them off …. German suplex to BARTHEL, followed by an Angle Slam to AICHNER!  He pops up, but gets his chest caved in with a vicious chop from WALTER!  ANGLE is down, and WALTER says “let this be a lesson to you.  We are IMPERIUM, and to us this mat is sacred!”


VIDEO PACKAGE -

We get a video package hyping the upcoming GLOBAL FORCE WRESTLING shows …. QUINN MCKAY interviews AJ STYLES, who will be the first person with the opportunity to ‘Run the Gauntlet’ to earn a IWA world title shot against RIC FLAIR ….




Up next, the IWA World Television champion ‘American Dragon’ BRYAN DANIELSON comes out to the ring …. DANIELSON promo …. He says he is the best wrestler in the world and last week he issued an open challenge …. He’s not going to be like JUNGLE BOY and just face a bunch of jobbers just to make a bunch of title defenses …. He’s not here to pad his stats, he’s here to face WORTHY challengers …. He’s the best and he wants to face the best …. It’s about quality over quantity …. He wants to know who his challenger is going to be …. Out comes JAY LETHAL!


MATCH 3: ‘American Dragon’ BRYAN DANIELSON vs. JAY LETHAL ———— IWA World Television Title Match

Great back and forth match …. DANIELSON ends up countering the Lethal Injection into the Crossface Chickenwing, trapping LETHAL in the middle of the ring and he has no choice but to tap out ….

POST MATCH: DANIELSON points to his head, indicating he outsmarted LETHAL and lured him into his trap …. DANIELSON takes the mic and goes to issue another open challenge for next week, when ‘KINGDOM’ by Downstait hits …. OUT COMES CODY RHODES!!!!  


CODY comes to the ring much to the surprise of DANIELSON, but CODY just has a smile on his face …. CODY extends a handshake to DANIELSON!  DANIELSON eyes CODY cautiously, but instead just rolls out of the ring with the TV title and leaves ….

VIDEO PACKAGE –

We get a big hype package for THE ROCK vs. SHAWN MICHAELS for the AEW title ….this is one of several video packages on the match that have aired during the show, and the show is really built around this one match ….

DANA WHITE is out before the main event …. Before we get to it, WHITE calls out EDDIE & CHAVO GUERRERO …. He wants them to turn over the AEW tag titles RIGHT NOW!  Out come EDDIE & CHAVO, and WHITE puts over the GEURRERO family and says that they should earn the titles to honor the GEURRERO legacy …. we get a comedy spot where they talk about how they can’t help it because all they do is ‘Lie, Cheat & Steal’ …. WHITE won’t return the tag titles to the OUTSIDERS, because KEVIN NASH has been released from his AEW contract for attacking AEW officials …. So what he is going to do is hang these titles above the ring and anyone who can climb a ladder and pull them down can be the new champions!  Here come RICK & SCOTT STEINER!  As they head toward the ring they are attacked from behind by THE REVIVAL!  As the REVIVAL and STEINERS brawl, THE BRISCOES hit the ring and start brawling with THE GUERREROS!!!!  It is a chaotic scene as we go to break ….


MAIN EVENT: (Champion) ‘Heartbreak Kid’ SHAWN MICHAELS vs. THE ROCK ———— AEW Heavyweight title Match

They brawl on the ramp to start, and ROCK suplexes HBK on the ramp …. HBK sends ROCK off the ramp into the crowd, then he hits a running cross body off the ramp into the sea of fans to take out THE ROCK …. Back in the ring HBK hits a swinging neckbreaker and keeps the pressure up, but ROCK rallies with a Samoan drop for 2 …. ROCK fires off with the right hands, then a flying clothesline off the ropes …. ROCK with the spinebuster, then he kicks in the arm …. THE ELBOW PAD COMES OFF!  ROCK hits the ropes for the People’s Elbow, BUT HBK KIPS UP AND NAILS SWEET CHIN MUSIC OUT OF NOWHERE!  Both men are down!  The ref starts the count, but HBK crawls over and lays an arm over ROCK at 9 …. 1 … 2 … Nooooo!  ROCK rallies, and we get another ref bump as ROCK has the win with the Rock Bottom … ROCK tries to get the ref up, but HBK low blows him from behind!  HBK has the AEW title, and he tries to hit THE ROCK with it but walks into another Spinebuster!  ROCK sets for the People’s Elbow but as he comes off the ropes he is cut off with a SPEAR FROM ….

ROMAN REIGNS!!!!  

What the hell????  What has REIGNS done here????  Reigns rolls out of the ring with both men down, and he just watches … The ref stirs as both men struggle to get back to their feet, and HBK tunes up the band!  SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!!!  HBK falls on top as the fans are in shocked disbelief … 1 … 2 … 3!


Roman Reigns cuts his eyes at HBK as he walks by, but then turns his smoldering stare back at THE ROCK …. The show fades to black ….
