• The Rock challenged Shawn Michaels to a steel cage match for the AEW title but HBK layed him out with Sweet Chin Music and then turned down his challenge ….
• The Miz took out TNT champion Finn Balor during THE DIRT SHEET
• The N.W.O retained the AEW tag team titles over the Revival when Kevin Nash faked an injury
• Daniel Bryan defeated Cody Rhodes in a bloody Texas Bullrope match when Cody’s wife, Brandi, threw in the towel for Cody ….


HUGE pyro explodes from the stage and entranceway as 10,000 strong are on their feet in the AEW ‘Asylum’ in Southern California …. Mauro Renallo and Corey Graves join us ringside as LOS ANGELES … IS … ALL ELITE!

We get a lot of hype from the announcers about the upcoming ’99 in the Shade’ show from OAKLAND … They hype tonight’s main event, which will be TONI STORM defending the Empower Women’s title against RONDA ROUSEY!  SASHA BANKS & BAYLEY are also here to defend the Empower womens tag titles as well ….


The show starts off with the music of the former IWA World champion … HULK HOGAN!!!!  HOGAN comes out and gets a good reaction as he cuts a promo and addresses his issues with BRIAN CAGE …. HOGAN says that he tried to steer CAGE in the right direction, but then CAGE spit in his face and turned on him …. They will meet at ‘Chris Jericho’s Rager at Sea’, but HOGAN doesn’t want to wait until then …. After CAGE cost him the IWA World title in Dallas, HOGAN is here to call out CAGE tonight!!!!  

CAGE’s music hits and out comes ‘The Machine’ …. He comes straight to the ring and acts like he is going to climb in, but thinks better of it and takes a mic instead …. CAGE cuts a promo on HOGAN and says he can have a ringside seat because CAGE already has a match tonight …. HOGAN can watch him and see what his future is at the ‘Rager at Sea’ when CAGE will finally destroy the farce that is ‘Hulk-a-mania’ once and for all …. HOGAN is just a man, but CAGE is a ‘Machine’ ….


PROMO:

TNT Champion FINN BALOR is interviewed in the locker room …. He says everyone is lining up for a shot at the TNT title and he is going to make sure that this title is the workhorse title in AEW …. He is going to elevate it and prove that is just as important as the AEW title …. But while that line is forming, everyone that gets in it better make sure they don’t miss when they come for FINN, and that includes THE MIZ ….

Instead, BALOR is interrupted by PAUL HEYMAN and JON MOXLEY …. HEYMAN says that MOXLEY is a guy that never misses …. He didn’t miss when he drove the stake right through the heart of CM PUNK, and when they complete their takeover of AEW he isn’t going to miss …. So if a line is forming for people that want a shot at BALOR, then JON MOXLEY is at the very front of that line …

FINN repsonds “Sounds like fun, I’ll see you tonight …”


#1 Contender to the TNT title match: ‘Limitless’ KEITH LEE vs. RICOCHET vs. ALIESTER BLACK vs. MIRO
Balls to the wall action in this one …. Lots of high-flying from RICOCHET and lots of big hoss stuff from LEE and MIRO …. BLACK takes LEE out with the Black Mass that knocks LEE all the way to the floor, but MIRO with the Matchka kick takes out BLACK …. He goes for the Accolade but RICOCHET cuts him off and hits the Bena-driller to take out MIRO!  RICOCHET all the way to the top rope and hits the 630 on BLACK for the 3 count!  RICOCHET gets the TNT title shot next week! ….


BACKSTAGE:

THE REVIVAL cut a promo about the finish of last weeks tag team title match, where KEVIN NASH proved that he was faking his knee injury when he entered the match and powerbombed DAWSON, leading to SCOTT HALL & X-PAC retaining the tag titles …. THE REVIVAL say things aren’t over, but they are interrupted by MATT RIDDLE & JEFF COBB …. RIDDLE is all ‘chill’ and ‘bro’ but he says that the REVIVAL have had, like, a million chances and the CHOSEN BROS want to know when they are going to get an opportunity?  THE REVIVAL say they will have to go through them first, and we get a match for later on in the show ….


Empower Womens tag team titles: (Champions) SASHA BANKS & BAYLEY vs. The A-LIST (Maryse & Taya Valkyrie)
Good match that sees the champs retain after BANKS forces MARYSE to tap out to the Banks Statement  ….

POST MATCH: SHAYNA BASZLER and RONDA ROUSEY hit the ring and attack BANKS & BAYLEY and lay them out, no doubt trying to send a message to CHARLOTTE FLAIR …. ROUSEY says that she is coming for TONI STORM tonight ….


BACKSTAGE:

THE ROCK arrives at the building …. QUINN MCKAY is there to meet him and asks him about SHAWN MICHAELS turning down his challenge last week …. ROCK says he has a little motivation for SHAWN MICHAELS’ candy ass …, CHARLY asks about Chris Jericho’s Rager at Sea and how ROCK is entered in a 10 man battle royal for a potential shot at the World title …. So is SHAWN MICHAELS …. ROCK says he knows all about CHRIS JERICHO because while CHRIS JERICHO was in AEW THE ROCK was whopping his monkey ass all over California!  As far as SHAWN MICHAELS, boy toy, is concerned, HBK can’t run forever …. THE ROCK asks him to reach down into his little leopard print panties and see if there is a sack of testicles in there, and if there is see if he has enough sugar in them to go ‘One … on one … with the Great One!’  But the ROCK bets all he is going to find is a little vagina in his pants and that is why he needs to surround himself with 3 bigger men lilke the N.W.O ….. Well, THE ROCK is all man and he ain’t waiting until August 9th  …. Tonight, SHAWN MICHAELS is gonna smell what the Rock is cookin!


’The Machine’ BRIAN CAGE vs. HEATH SLATER
Squash match as CAGE destroys SLATER …. The announcers talk about how CAGE has turned bitter and is intent on destroying HULK HOGAN and ‘Hulk-a-mania’ in general …. CAGE obliterates SLATER with power moves and finishes him with the Drill Claw for the 3 count ….

POST MATCH: CAGE orders his music to play as he mimics HULKS HOGANS posedown routine …. HULK HOGANS MUSIC HITS!!!!  HOGAN comes out to the ring and the fight is on!!!!  It’s like a hockey fight at first, but HOGAN quickly gets the advantage …. He blocks CAGE’s right hands and fires off 3 rights of his own, then whips him off the rope …. BIG BOOT!  HOGAN hits the ropes for the leg drop …. BUT CAGE ROLLS OUT OF THE WAY!  Discus Clothesline nearly takes off HOGAN’s head!  CAGE rips off HOGAN’s ‘Hulk-a-mania’ shirt and spits on it, then picks HOGAN up and drills him with a powerbomb!  

CAGE leaves the ring and starts to walk away, but HOGAN is stirring and trying to get to his feet!  CAGE returns to the ring and plants HOGAN with a 2nd powerbomb!  CAGE stands over HOGAN, who tries to use CAGE’s boots to pull himself up …. He wont die!  CAGE grabs him and drills him with a 3rd powerbomb!  THEN A 4th POWERBOMB!  HOGAN is down now and not moving as trainers come in to check on the Hulkster.  CAGE won’t let them get to him, as he stands over HOGAN and poses …. CAGE then leaves as HOGAN is tended to by the physicians  


BACKSTAGE:

The A-LIST are backstage in their private dressing room as ALEXANDER HAMMERSTONE stands guard at the door …. TAYA and MARYSE are upset that they lost earlier and MORRISON & MIZ are trying to calm their wives down respectively …. MIZ is pissed that MARYSE is upset and vows to do ‘something’  ….


TNT Title: (Champion) FINN BALOR vs. JON MOXLEY w/ Paul Heyman
MOXLEY attacks early and they brawl …. FINN battles back with a shotgun dropkick on the floor sending MOXLEY into the railing …. The fight goes back and forth, but MOXLEY attacks the knee …. FINN hits a Bloody Sunday for a 2 count, then hits the Coup De Grace but can’t cover because of his knee …. HEYMAN with the distraction, and MOXLEY gets up and clips the knee and then hits the Paradigm Shift!  MOXLEY covers, but the ref is pulled to the outside before he can finish the count by ….

CM PUNK!!!!  PUNK is here and comes out of the crowd to attack MOXLEY!  PUNK beats MOXLEY’s ass around the ring and then wears him out with a chair!  MOXLEY quickly makes a run for it with HEYMAN in tow as PUNK gives chase …. BALOR watches from the ring, still champion, when all of a sudden THE MIZ appears behind him and lays him out with the Skull Krushing Finale!  MIZ picks up the TNT title and looks at it before tossing it down on BALOR ….

We get another promo hyping ’99 in the Shade’ from OAKLAND  ….


THE CHOSEN BROS (Matt Riddle & Jeff Cobb) vs. THE REVIVAL (Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder)
Great tag team match as THE CHOSEN BROS show they can hang with tag team machines like THE REVIVAL …. THE BROS pull the big upset when RIDDLE pins WILDER after COBB & RIDDLE hit a Lawn Dart + Final Flash knee strike combo ….


Empower Womens title: (Champion) TONI STORM vs. RONDA ROUSEY w/ Shayna Baszler
STORM comes out a house of fire, but ROUSEY absorbs the attack and fires back with strikes …. ROUSEY hits a couple of judo throws, but STORM reverses the Pipers Pit into a tornado DDT and both women are down …. STORM goes for Strong Zero but her arm is hurt …. TONI goes to the top instead, but ROUSEY cuts her off and hits Pipers Pit from the top rope!  ROUSEY locks in the armbar!!!!  STORM fights it, tries to get to the ropes but ROUSEY lets go of the hold and pulls her back to the center of the ring and locks it on again!  STORM is trapped and has no choice but to tap out and we have a new champion!!!! ….




We are running short on time as AEW champion SHAWN MICHAELS’ music hits …. HBK comes out and says he is out here last because he is the true ‘main event’ of this company, not 2 chicks …. HBK says the ROCK thinks just because he comes from a legendary wrestling family it entitles him to get all the title shots …. He’s tired of facing the ROCK because he has his eyes on something bigger and that is the world title …. He cuts a promo on the battle royal at ‘Chris Jericho’s Rager at Sea’ and says that he is used to beating CHRIS JERICHO because he’s the guy he took the AEW title from …. There isn’t a man in that battle royal that can hold HBK’s jock so he isn’t worried because between these ropes HBK is the best there is ….

THE ROCK’S MUSIC HITS!!!! ROCK comes out to the ring with a mic …. HBK yawns and tells the ROCK to go fight VELVETEEN DREAM again because HBK has better things to do …. ROCK gestures to the big screen, where we see that there is a forklift blocking the door to the N.W.O’s locker room!  HBK’s expression changes as he realizes he is out there with no backup …. ROCK fires off a right hand!!!!  ROCK proceeds to beat the shit out of HBK and he is bumping all over the place!  ROCK BOTTOM TO HBK!  ROCK takes off his shirt and tosses it in the crowd and hits the ropes for the People’s Elbow, but then he suddenly stops …. ROCK looks outside the ring, his eyes fixated on the announce table …. He tosses HBK to the floor, then takes him up on top of the announce table …. ROCK BOTTOM THROUGH THE ANNOUNCE TABLE!!!!  The crowd is eating this up and chanting ‘ONE MORE TIME!’  ROCK starts to leave, but the chants grow louder and ROCK returns to the ring …. ROCK BOTTOM THROUGH THE SPANISH ANNOUNCE TABLE!!!!  ROCK tosses HBK back in the ring and locks on the sharpshooter!!!!  The show goes off the air with ROCK cranking back on the Sharpshooter and HBK tapping out in the middle of the ring!

I have really enjoyed this Hogan/Cage buildup

Glad Ricochet wins this but I would like to see more out of Aleister

Another solid promo from The Rock

Hogan just got a taste of what The Machine is all about

Miz and Morrison should stop worrying about their wives and more on their potential challenges

And speaking of Miz.....why is he sticking his nose in this match??

Man , I enjoy the hell outta working with you . This build up has been amazing .

That opener was great . I would like to see Ricochet in a more prominent roll . If pushed right and character build up . I can see an X Division World title .

I really like the A List faction .

Huge upset by the Bros .
