HIGHLIGHTS:

We see a recap of AEW #23:

• Steve Austin showed up in AEW to issue a challenge for anyone to face him on July 4th.  His challenge was accepted by The Rock, who went face to face with Austin in an iconic showdown
• Nikita Koloff def. Miro and Ivan Koloff in a handicap ‘I Quit’ match, winning back his contract and releasing Ivan’s hold on him ….
• After being provoked by Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin got involved in the main event for the AEW title, resulting in the match being thrown out.  Austin would then lay out Rock and HBK with Stunners
• On WCW #14, The Rock returned the favor, laying Austin out with the Rock Bottom and seemingly accepting Austins challenge for July 4th ….


HUGE pyro explodes from the stage and entranceway as 10,000 strong are on their feet in the AEW ‘Asylum’ in Southern California …. Mauro Renallo and Corey Graves join us ringside as LOS ANGELES … IS … ALL ELITE!

Instead of going immediately to MAURO and COREY at ringside, CM PUNK starts off the show in street clothes and sits in a chair in the middle of the ring …. PUNK cuts a promo and says that he is going to fuck up this whole show unless PAUL HEYMAN comes out here and faces him …. We see highligts of PAUL HEYMAN turning on CM PUNK and helping JON MOXLEY defeat him 2 weeks ago ….

This brings out HEYMAN and MOXLEY.  HEYMAN says no need to make demands, he is out here freely to address PUNK …. He says he tried to get PUNK to play ball, and got them a sweet gig …. PUNK was a world champion, PUNK was the so-called ‘Best in the World’ …. HEYMAN came out and put him over every week, the whole time putting up with PUNK’s prima donna, spoiled brat attitude.  When ‘the real’ CM PUNK reared his ugly head, PUNK became no longer ‘Championship Material’ …. HEYMAN says he is an opportunist, and he made a business decision …. And no matter if CM PUNK likes it or not, he knows he’s right and he can’t touch him …. HEYMAN drops the mic and he and MOXLEY leave ….

PUNK says maybe not …. He might not be able to touch HEYMAN, but he will destroy the person that HEYMAN has latched onto, and that is JON MOXLEY …. Then he will kill the UWF once and for all ….


PROMO:

We get a promo featuring the women of EVOLVE wrestling …. Beginning this week, the women of EVOLVE will be featured regulary on AEW television …. The video ends by saying “EVOLVE IS ALL-ELITE” ….

Back to live action, we get comments from MAURO and COREY about the announcement …. They are starting off the partnership in a BIG way tonight as the IWA world champion ASUKA will be on hand later on tonight …. But up first is our first-ever Evolve match on AEW Television, and it features the Evolve Womens champion ....


(Evolve Women’s Champion) TONI STORM vs. TEGAN NOX
This match never gets started …. As TEGAN is making her way out to the ring RONDA ROUSEY shows up out of nowhere and attacks her!!!!  TONI leaves the ring and comes to the aid of NOX, and ROUSEY backs off but when TONI turns her back to check on TEGAN, she attacks her as well!!!!  ROUSEY leaves both TEGAN NOX and the Evolve Womens champion laying ….

POST MATCH:  ROUSEY looks at the camera and says that this will keep happening until she gets her rematch with CHARLOTTE FLAIR ….


IN THE BACK:

THE REVIVAL cuts a promo calling out HALL & NASH …. Next week, THE REVIVAL get their shot at the tag titles …. DASH & DAWSON are gonna show them what real tag team excellence is ….


MAURO & GRAVES talk about the explosive beginning of the partnership between AEW and Evolve …. Still tonight we have IWA World champion ASUKA plus TESSA BLANCHARD vs. SHAYNA BASZLER to come ….

IN THE BACK: The N.W.O is watching THE ROCK on the monitor and HBK kicks the monitor over …. HBK says ROCK shot his shot last week and couldn’t get the job done …. But STEVE AUSTIN, HBK hasn’t forgot about him …. He still has a receipt coming courtesy of Ole HBK …. And as far as the little challenge to the RADICALZ, well, the RADICALZ aren’t even in the same league as the N.W.O …. And come July 4th they will prove it and HBK will prove why he is simply the best in-ring performer of this generation ….


Back in the arena, the Canadian National Anthem plats and LANCE STORM comes out …. “If I can be serious for a minute…”  STORM cuts a promo continuing to put himself over as the best technical wrestler in the world STORM makes another open challenge and wants someone to face him in a Pure Rules match …. As STORM is monologuing, someone slides in the ring behind him … IT’S EDGE!!!!  STORM turns around … SPEAR BY EDGE CUTS HIM IN HALF!  EDGE’S music hits and he plays to the crowd, who give him a big pop ….


NEXT WEEK: CODY vs. BRYAN in a Texas Bullrope Match plus HALL & NASH defend the AEW tag team titles against THE REVIVAL ….


[b]TESSA BLANCHARD vs. SHAYNA BASZLER
Match progresses at a good pace when suddenly CHARLOTTE FLAIR shows up and attacks BASZLER for the DQ finish!  CHARLOTTE takes a chair and smashes BASZLER in the knee, then locks on the Figure 8, sending a message to RONDA ROUSEY to counter what ROUSEY did earlier on the show …. ROUSEY comes out of the back but CHARLOTTE gets right in her face …. The announcers remind everyone that the 2 are under a ‘no contact’ order …. ROUSEY pulls BASZLER to safety and CHARLOTTE invites her in but ROUSEY & BASZLER leave ….


VIGNETTE:

We get a video package for the return of Olympic Gold Medalist KURT ANGLE ….


Up next, CHARLY CARUSO welcomes IWA Women’s world champion ASUKA onto the stage …. CHARLY talks about the controversial finish to the World title match at the IWA 1 Year Show, with BRITT BAKER claiming that she never said ‘I Quit’ …. BAKER wants a rematch, but ASUKA was also challenged by former women’s champion BETH PHOENIX recently …. She tries to get a response from ASUKA about BAKER’s challenge, but ASUKA turns down the offer …. She will not face BAKER in another ‘I Quit’ match, instead she wants to face BAKER one last time …. As she speaks broken English she screams the words ‘HELL … IN A CELL!!!!’


[b]TNT TITLE MATCH: (Champion) FINN BALOR vs. X-PAC
X-PAC comes out with BALOR’s TNT title after stealing it 2 weeks ago …. BALOR attacks with a dive and the fight is on.  During the match the OUTSIDERS come out and try to get involved on X-PAC’s behalf, but THE REVIVAL come out also and attack the OUTSIDERS!  DAWSON clips the knee of NASH and he is down!!!!  BALOR takes advantage of the distraction and hits the shotgun dropkick, followed by the Coup De Grace for the 3 count to retain the title! ….

The N.W.O is sent to higher ground as it is obvious the REVIVAL came out not to help BALOR, but to get at the OUTSIDERS …. NASH is shown visibly limping and selling the knee injury as HALL & NASH and X-PAC leave …. BALOR celebrates in the ring ….

Can’t wait for Punk to get his hands on Moxley .
