HIGHLIGHTS:

We get a recap of the events of AEW #36 ….

• CM PUNK and JON MOXLEY opened the show with a wild brawl that saw both men fall from the 2nd level balcony and crash through some tables below …. Both men were taken out of the arena on stretchers
• ‘Hangman’ ADAM PAGE confronted AJ STYLES, only for MALAKAI BLACK to debut and attack both men
• BRYAN DANIELSON talked about attacking World TV champion JUNGLE BOY, but was confronted by JUNGLE BOY’s former tag team partner LUCHASAURUS …. DANIELSON then forced LUCHASAURUS to tap out in the main event, seemingly sending a message to JUNGLE BOY ….
• The show closed with an out-of-control brawl between the N.W.O and the BLOODLINE, which started in the back with the BLOODLINE attacking the N.W.O during an interview …. The fight ensued for over 15 minutes and made its way all the way out to the ring before security was able to break it up …. DANA WHITE decalred that the only way to solve the issue between these two factions would be in WAR GAMES!!!! ….


HUGE pyro explodes from the stage and entranceway as 10,000 strong are on their feet in the AEW ‘Asylum’ in Southern California …. Joey Styles and Pat McAfee join us ringside as LOS ANGELES … IS … ALL ELITE!


JOEY STYLES & PAT McAFEE hype what happened last week, and DANA WHITE making the WAR GAMES match official …. Tonight, former world champion ASUKA will finally get her hands on RHEA RIPLEY, and ROMAN REIGNS will face KEVIN NASH of the N.W.O ….


1. ‘Hangman’ ADAM PAGE def. ELI DRAKE …. (Buckshot Lariat) ….

POST MATCH: PAGE declares himself for the Casino Battle Royal, but first he wants to address MALAKAI BLACK …. PAGE says BLACK chose to target him, and PAGE will not back down from a fight …. THE LIGHTS GO OUT! We see MALAKAI BLACK in the rafters watching, and PAGE stares him down to end the segment ….


BACKSTAGE –

TESSA, RONDA ROUSEY and SHAYNA BASZLER are in the back …. They may not be best friends, but they have a common enemy and that is CHARLOTTE FLAIR …. They know CHARLOTTE has backup, but no one can stand against this 3 woman team …. It’s all about exterminating the ‘Horsewomen’, and they challenge CHARLOTTE, SASHA & BAYLEY to a 6 woman tag match ….


2. THE REVIVAL (Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder) def. JAY & MARK BRISCOE …. (DAWSON rolls up MARK and has his feet on the ropes for extra leverage) ….


BACKSTAGE –

STEINERS issue a challenge to the OUTSIDERS for the tag team titles …. THE REVIVAL and BRISCOES come out …. WHITE books a 3 way dance with the winners getting the next title shot ….




Up next, TNT champion ‘The Machine’ BRIAN CAGE comes out and talks about how he is going to destroy MJF at Wrestle Kingdom and become the X Division champion …. He cuts a promo on BROCK LESNAR and accuses him of taking cheap shots at him the last couple of weeks …. BROCK caught him off guard and that wont happen again ….

‘HERE COMES THE PAIN!’

BROCK’s music hits and Viking BROCK comes out to the ring to confront CAGE …. CAGE meets BROCK head on as he enters the ring and the two big bulls collide in a brawl! CAGE eats a German Cuplex as the fans chant ‘1!!!!’ …. Another suplex …. ‘2!!!!’ CAGE tries to escape but BROCK pursues him. It’s a trap as CAGE hits a low blow and then powerbombs BROCK onto the apron!!!! This allows CAGE to take over, and he hits another powerbomb in the ring! BROCK is down. CAGE goes outside and sets a table up on the floor AND THEN POWERBOMBS BROCK FROM THE RING TO THE FLOOR THROUGH THE TABLE!!!! HOLY SHIT!!!! Trainers immediately come out and check on BROCK while CAGE gloats in the ring! The put a hard collar on BROCK and try to load him on the stretcher but BROCK rises from the ashes! He rips the neckbrace off and rolls back into the ring! HOCKEY FIGHT!!!! BROCK scoops CAGE up for the F-5, but CAGE slips off and low blows BROCK again!!!! Another powerbomb!!!! CAGE tells BROCK to ‘Stay Down!’ …. Of course, BROCK tries to get up and CAGE picks him up and KILLS him with the Drill Claw!!!! BROCK is down this time, and trainers come in to attend to him as CAGE stands over him holding the TNT title over his head!



BACKSTAGE –

THE ROCK and the BLOODLINE discuss WAR GAMES …. THE ROCK lays out the challenge that if the BLOODLINE wins WAR GAMES, then the ROCK gets another shot at SHAWN MICHAELS and the AEW title …. When he lays out this challenge it seems to take ROMAN REIGNS by surprise …. REIGNS says he is going to go out and lead by example when he takes out NASH in the main event ….


3. KAZUCHIKA OKADA def. JOHN MORRISON …. (Rainmaker) ….




Up next, DANIEL BRYAN comes out to the ring …. DANIELSON gets some boos from the crowd as he instructs the ring announcer to address him as ‘American Dragon’ BRYAN DANIELSON …. DANIELSON then cuts a promo on JUNGLE BOY and attacking him at the BGR show …. Last week, LUCHASAURUS tried to be the hero and stick up for his friend, but DANIELSON kicked his head in just like he’s going to do to JUNGLE BOY at Wrestle Kingdom …. LUCHASAURUS took his place under the guillotine, and he wonders if there is anyone else? DANIELSON says that JUNGLE BOY has been the TV champion for 2 weeks and he’s already hurt, but DANIELSON is here every week …. He was the #1 contender before JUNGLE BOY even won the title ….

CAMERON GRIMES comes out to interrupt and GRIMES has a new lease on life after upsetting DAMIEN PRIEST last week …. GRIMES talks about how he is back on the right track and is going ‘To Tha Moon!’ …. GRIMES asks DANIELSON if he wants to challenge him ….


4. ‘American Dragon’ BRYAN DANIELSON def. CAMERON GRIMES …. (Referee Stoppage …. GRIMES strings together some good offense, but DANIELSON weathers the attack and kicks GRIMES’ head in …. DANIELSON locks on a guillotine choke and GRIMES stops responding and the ref calls it) ….


POST MATCH: DANIELSON is being booed by the crowd and he says the fans that are booing him are fickle because he hasn’t changed who he is …. This is a mans sport and there is no room for ‘Boys’ …. Suddenly DANIELSON is tackled from behind by someone that has jumped the rail!!!! Security immediately hits the ring and pulls him off of DANIELSON, and BRYAN hits some potato shots for good measure on the ‘fan’ as security drag him off …. However, as they drag the person toward the back we get a good shot of his face and we see that it is BOB ARMSTRONG!!!! That is a man that JUNGLE BOY considers a mentor come to get some payback for what DANIELSON did to JUNGLE BOY! The camera focuses on DANIELSON, who has some blood dripping from his lip as ARMSTRONG is taken away ….




BACKSTAGE –

We get a video package recapping the brawl between CM PUNK and JON MOXLEY last week that saw both men fall off the 2nd level balcony and crash through some tables …. PUNK cuts a promo and says since they both left on stretchers last week …. He challenges MOXLEY to send him out on a stretcher again, if he can, and he challenges him to a Stretcher Match ….


5. RHEA RIPLEY def. ASUKA by DQ …. (RIPLEY baits SHIRAI into getting involved, and she attacks RIPLEY causing the DQ ….) ….

POST MATCH: ASUKA and IO argue after the match, but this allows RIPLEY to attack them and lay them both out with the Riptide


6. ROMAN REIGNS def. KEVIN NASH w/ Scott Hall …. (Spear) ….

POST MATCH: HHH and HBK attack along with HALL & NASH …. The ROCK comes out with the USO’s and we get another face-off and the N.W.O bails out …. HBK takes the mic and says that he accepts THE ROCK’s challenge …. But he has a challenge of his own …. ‘WHEN’ the N.W.O beats them in WAR GAMES, THE BLOODLINE is done in AEW …. THE ROCK accepts!!!! Once again, this draws a look from ROMAN REIGNS ….

THE ROCK’s music hits and they stare down the N.W.O as the show ends ….

You can get a lot of mileage out of Hangman and Malacki in my opinion

Any day the Revival win is a good day

If Cage has any chance of beating MJF, he better handle his business with Brock first

What the hell was Grimes thinking
