HIGHLIGHTS:

We see highlights of last week’s show to kick us off ….


HUGE pyro explodes from the stage and entranceway as 10,000 strong are on their feet in the AEW ‘Asylum’ in Southern California …. Mauro Renallo and Corey Graves join us ringside as LOS ANGELES … IS … ALL ELITE!

At ringside, Mauro and Corey hype the IWA 1 Year Anniversary show on June 12th from LA …. AEW is going to be the host promotion and they put over how challenging the last year has been on the IWA but they have survived and are now thriving …. AEW is proud to host the 1 year celebration of the IWA ….

They also hype tonight’s main event, the 2nd ever ‘MATCH BEYOND’ that will crown the very first TNT champion ….




The show begins with the arrival of PAUL HEYMAN …. HEYMAN is alone and he says that he has been doing damage control for the past week after CM PUNK laid out NICHOLAS DEVANNES with the GTS …. HEYMAN talks about everything he has done for PUNK, but PUNK comes out to interrupt HEYMAN’s promo …. PUNK says that he doesn’t give a shit about DEVANNES or the UWF …. He is the one that beat JOHN CENA and kept the UWF title relevant long after it should have died, and he doesn’t owe DEVANNES, DEVANNES owes HIM!  He says that he is still going to beat HULK HOGAN and be the world champion, but he’s going to do it for himself and NOT for the UWF …. As far as JON MOXLEY goes, it wouldn’t be the first time MOXLEY has had PUNK’s ‘sloppy seconds’ …. HEYMAN holds his hand over his mouth in shock at the statement, and on queue JON MOXLEY’s music hits!  

MOXLEY is blocked by security from entering the ring, but PUNK tells security to let him go and they can settle it in the ring!!!! ….


CM PUNK vs. JON MOXLEY ends in a no contest
MOXLEY hits the ring and immediately starts brawling with PUNK!!!!  PUNK fires up with some strikes but MOXLEY clotheslines him over the top to the floor and then hits a suicide dive …. PUNK blocks the Paradgim Shift on the floor and backdrops MOXLEY into the crowd, and they brawl their way up into the stands …. Not long after that the ref throws the match out ….

POST MATCH: Security comes out to try to get the 2 separated …. PUNK is pulled off MOXLEY, and as PUNK is being restrained MOXLEY takes the opening to kick PUNK right between the legs!  PUNK goes down as security is able to restrain MOXLEY and drag him away ….


CHARLY CARUSO interviews ‘The American Nightmare’ CODY RHODES along with BRANDI ….

CODY says BRYAN got a fluke rollup, but it takes real POWER to KO someone.  BRYAN’s win meant nothing because CODY established the Bionic Elbow as the most devasting finisher in AEW …. He starts to put over his version of the Bionic Elbow as a devastating KO elbow …. He left BRYAN laying with that move last week …. CODY brings up BRYAN’s concussion issues in the past, and says that is why he isn’t here this week …. He calls BRYAN ‘fragile’ …. CODY is a rock because he has built his legacy on the bedrock that was the Rhodes’ name …. Now he is bigger than that …. It’s time for everyone in AEW to wake up and realize that they are living in the ‘American Nightmare’ ….


Up next, AEW champion SHAWN MICHAELS comes out along with AEW tag team champions HALL & NASH and X-PAC …. HBK says that they have always been labeled as the KLIQ because they have each others backs in this ring, in the back, when they are out at the bar, or anywhere else …. No one can touch them …. What they really are is the NEW WORLD ORDER of wrestling because they rule the world of wrestling …. So now the KLIQ is officially going by the NWO name ….


MICHAELS says that there is one missing piece to the puzzle and that will happen tonight when X-PAC becomes the TNT champion …. HBK says that everyone will bow down to the NWO, especially that ‘eyebrow raising jabroni’ DWAYNE ….

‘IF YA SMEEEEEELLLLL … WHAT THE ROCK … IS COOKIN …..’



Out comes The ROCK and he says that you can name a pile of monkey crap anything you want … THE KLIQ, THE NOW, the GET ALONG GANG … it doesn’t matter it is STILL a pile of monkey crap!  ROCK says that SHAWN MICHAELS is pissing in his little pink panties because he knows the ROCK is coming for his AEW title …. That will come in due time, but tonight THE ROCK is just here to fight!  ROCK heads to the ring but HBK tells him he is a fool …. Look around, there are 4 of them and only 1 of you …. ROCK says that he never said he was coming alone ….

The lights go out and tribal drumming starts playing …. There are tiki torches lining the ramp and at the top of the ramp appears ….


The Usos and ROMAN REIGNS!!!!  REIGNS and the USOS are doing a gimmick similar to their 2021 gimmick but they are faces and they have come to the aid of THE ROCK!  The Tribe is all together, and they hit the ring!  HUGE brawl breaks out as we see the Samoans sending the newly-christened NEW WORLD ORDER running to the back ….


LADDER MATCH w/ Nikita’s contract hanging above the ring: NIKITA KOLOFF def. MIRO BARNYASHEV w/ Ivan Koloff
This is supposed to be the blowoff match between NIKITA and the Russians, with NIKITA’s freedom from IVAN hanging in a briefcase above the ring …. After a brutal match, NIKITA is able to retrieve the briefcase, but when he opens the briefcase it is empty!  MIRO and IVAN use this as an opportunity to attack and bloody NIKITA by assaulting him with the Ruissian Chain …. IVAN says that the only way NIKITA will get his life back is to drive MIRO and IVAN from AEW once and for all …. NIKITA takes the microphone and challenges BOTH of them to an ‘I Quit’ match ….

NOTES:

- Haas & Benjamin are the 2 guys that start out the match ….
- As soon as RVD eliminates Cesaro with the 5 star frog splash, Velveteen Dream sneaks in and grabs RVD and throws him into the ring post followed by the Dream Valley Driver to eliminate him
- It takes everyone in the match to eliminate Brian Cage …. He gets a  Black Mass from Aleister Black, and Velveteen Dream and RVD get in opposite corners and hit the Purple Rainmaker followed by the 5 star frog splash for the elimination
- Daniel Bryan makes an appearance, attacking Cody Rhodes and leaving him laying, leading to Finn Balor eliminating him following the Coup De Grace ….
- X-PAC spends most of his time hiding outside the ring to avoid being eliminated …. He sneaks back into the ring to eliminate Adam Page with the X-Factor.
- RVD pins ADAM PAGE after the 5 star frog splash, but then when he goes to do the same to BALOR, VELVETEEN DREAM trips RVD and crotches him on the top rope …. BALOR with the shotgun dropkick and then the Coup De Grace to eliminate RVD ….

The Final Four are BALOR, X-PAC, VELVETEEN DREAM and ALEISTER BLACK …. X-PAC proposes an alliance with DREAM, but then low blows him and hits the X-Factor!  DREAM is eliminated …. BLACK with a bicycle knee to BALOR, who fires back with a Pele kick, allowing X-PAC to hit the X-Factor on BLACK and eliminate him!  It is down to BALOR and X-PAC …. X-PAC tries for another X-Factor but BALOR escapes and hits the Shotgun Dropkick followed by the Coup De Grace!  X-PAC kicks out at 2!!!!  BALOR will not be denied, coming back with the Bloody Sunday to finally put X-PAC away and become the 1st TNT champion!

I feel like i should know this, but what is Punk referring to about Moxley having sloppy seconds?

Whatever it is, it sets a fire under Moxleys ass
