HIGHLIGHTS:

We see a recap of AEW #25:

• Ronda Rousey defeated Toni Storm to win the Women’s Empower championship
• CM Punk returned and attacked Jon Moxley during his match with Finn Balor
• Brian Cage violently attacked Hulk Hogan, powerbombing him multiple times until Hogan was unable to get up
• The Rock attacked Shawn Michaels, putting him through 2 tables and having the Sharpshooter locked on him as the show ended ….


HUGE pyro explodes from the stage and entranceway as 10,000 strong are on their feet in the AEW ‘Asylum’ in Southern California …. Mauro Renallo and Corey Graves join us ringside as LOS ANGELES … IS … ALL ELITE!

We are on the road to ’99 in the Shade’ show from OAKLAND …

The opening monologue is interrupted by the arrival of SHAWN MICHAELS and the N.W.O …. SHAWN MICHAELS is pissed at THE ROCK for what happened last week plus what happened at the Bunkhouse match where ROCK cost HBK the match …. He says THE ROCK wants him in a steel cage, HE’S GOT IT!  The rest of the N.W.O react with surprise and NASH even whispers to HBK trying to talk him out of it …. but HBK is furious and basically hysterical here ….

However, instead of the ROCK coming out, we get ROB VAN DAM instead!  RVD is fresh off winning the Bunkhouse Stampede match by eliminating HBK, and he has a mic …. He tells HBK to relax and says if he isn’t careful hes going to give himself a heart attack …. Look how red his face is …. Calm down dude …. HBK shouldn’t be upset that RVD beat him in the Bunkhouse match RVD is everyones favorite wrestler …. RVD says he’s not the ‘showstoppa’, he’s just the ‘whole … fucking … show’!!!!

This makes MICHAELS get even MORE pissed and he says RVD picked the wrong night …. HBK wants a match with RVD tonight …. RVD thinks about it for a second, but then turns HBK down!  RVD says he will think about it, but only if it’s a title match!  HBK is so pissed that he agrees!  HBK is totally unhinged here, and the other N.W.O members look worried about him ….


PROMO:

FINN BALOR cuts a promo on the MIZ and says MIZ got his feelings hurt a couple weeks ago when BALOR called him out …. He’s been in BALOR’s business ever since …. BALOR told the world that if you come for FINN, you better not miss …. He’s different, and they stopped making the cloth that he is cut from …. He’s going to show the MIZ tonight and then he’s going to show RICOCHET when they face each other next week for the TNT title …”


’Limitless’ KEITH LEE vs. MIRO
Big hoss battle here, as the announcers hype up LEE as being one of the final men in the Bunkhouse Stampede tournament …. MIRO works the back of LEE, but LEE battles back with the Pounce that sends big MIRO flying …. LEE hits the Spirit Bomb for the 3 count to put MIRO away ….


[clor=orange]RVD is warming up …. THE ROCK approaches him and tells him that if he beats HBK tonight then ROCK will whoop his monkey ass too and take the title ….[/color]


CHARLOTTE FLAIR & TESSA BLANCHARD vs. TEGAN NOX & DAKOTA KAI
Evenly contested match that is pretty clean …. FLAIR attacks the knee of NOX for most of the match, then ends up submitting her with the Figure 8 after a good 15 minute match …. NOX & KAI have several hope spots during the match and really hang with CHARLOTTE & TESSA for the whole match ….

POST MATCH:  Brand new Empower Champion RONDA ROUSEY comes out and taunts CHARLOTTE …. Her winning the title was a foregone conclusion because she and SHAYNA are the only real fighters in this company …. Now it’s her vs. CHARLOTTE for the title in a real main event at ’99 in the Shade’ …. When she is done with CHARLOTTE, all that will be left for her to do is go after the tag titles with her ‘bestie’ TESSA …. If she even has a career left after ROUSEY is done with her …. CHARLOTTE takes the mic and says ROUSEY is fragile mentally and physically and she is going to expose her and take the title …. This meteoric rise that ROUSEY thinks she is on is going to come crashing down to Earth because you are looking at the next Empower Champion ….


IN THE BACK: More shots of RVD warming up for his match in the back …. MATT RIDDLE approaches RVD and they totally have a ‘bro’ moment …. RIDDLE lets RVD know that the CHOSEN BROS will be keeping an eye on HALL & NASH during the match ….


Non-title match: FINN BALOR vs. THE MIZ
MORRISON gets involved in a good back and forth match as BALOR is setting up MIZ for the Coup De Grace …. This results in the DQ victory for BALOR and he retains the title ….

POST MATCH: BALOR gets double teamed by the world tag team champions but RICOCHET runs down to make the save …. This leads to an impromptu tag team match!!!! ….


Non-title match: THE A-LIST (Miz & John Morrison) w/ Alexander Hammerstone vs. (TNT Champion) FINN BALOR & RICOCHET
RICOCHET and BALOR work well together as a team …. MORRISON and MIZ attack the knee of BALOR during the match and do a number on it …. RICOCHET comes in and runs wild off a hot tag, and all 4 guys are in the ring …. BALOR with the shotgun dropkick on MIZ and goes up and hits the Coup De Grace, but hurts his knee in the process.  RICOCHET dispatches MORRISON with the Bena-driller and then, with THE MIZ down, RICOCHET goes up and hits the 630 and pins MIZ to win the match, stealing the pin from BALOR! ….

POST MATCH: The fans go nuts as RICOCHET celebrates.  He grabs all the title belts and holds them up, but then when he turns around he locks eyes with BALOR …. There is a tense moment before RICOCHET extends his hand and tries to hand BALOR one of the UWF world tag title belts …. BALOR doesn’t take it, and instead he reaches out and jerks the TNT title out of RICOCHET’s hands, never breaking eye contact …. Meanwhile, MIZ grabs the mic and protests, saying they never said it was a title match!  The A-List demands that the titles be returned to them, and the ref takes the titles from RICOCHET and gives them back to MIZ & MORRISON.  Meanwhile, BALOR and RICOCHET never break eye contact as BALOR leaves with the TNT title ….


We see a split screen with SHAWN MICHAELS and ROB VAN DAM walking to the ring for the main event …. Then the shot shifts to THE ROCK in the dressing room watching on a monitor, pacing back and forth like a caged animal ….


IN THE RING:

‘The Machine’ BRIAN CAGE makes his way out as we are getting ready for the main event …. CAGE recaps his victory over HULK HOGAN at the Inner Circles Rager at Sea, and claims that he has done what no one else could do …. Not CM PUNK, not STAN HANSEN, not HHH, no one …. He has destroyed HULK-A-MANIA …. In the end, he proved that HULK HOGAN isn’t ‘immortal’ … He’s just a man, but CAGE is a fucking machine, and he is a machine that is going to run roughshod through AEW and the entire IWA …. He tells everyone that they should fear the Machine ….

CAGE is interrupted by none other than Paul Heyman!  HEYMAN comes out and says something to CAGE that the microphone doesnt pick up, and then CAGE leaves with HEYMAN to end the segment ....


AEW TITLE: (Champion) ‘Heartbreak Kid’ SHAWN MICHAELS vs. ROB VAN DAM
They start out wrestling it out, but HBK hits a dropkick.  RVD gets a couple of reversals into a backslide for a 2, then sends HBK to the floor with a spin kick …. HBK blocks a dive with a straight right hand and RVD falls to the floor and then HBK tries to splash RVD off the apron but he gets the knees up …. RVD hangs HBK over the rail and then hits the twisting leg drop to the back …. RVD pounds away, but HBK counters with a spinning neckbreaker …. HBK attacks the leg, hitting a dragonscrew before locking on the figure four!  RVD makes the ropes but SHAWN continues the attack on the knee …. RVD rallies and hits a spinkick followed by the Rolling Thunder for a close 2!  SCOTT HALL is on the apron, but out of the back come MATT RIDDLE and JEFF COBB to confront the OUTSIDERS!    

The match continues in the ring as HBK reverses a suplex attempt into a DDT and then goes up top and hits the top rope elbow drop!  HBK gets a 2 count but then he starts to tune up the band, but RVD dodges Sweet Chin Music and hits a backbreaker!  RVD up top … 5 STAR FROG SPLASH!!!!  1 … 2 … X-PAC grabs the ref and pulls him to the floor!

THE ROCK’s music hits!!!!  ROCK comes running out and takes out X-PAC with a clothesline as a brawl breaks out between the CHOSEN BROS and OUTSIDERS!  Meanwhile, RVD rolls back in but gets hit with the flying forearm from HBK!  Kip up!  HBK starts tuning up the band, but doesn’t see THE ROCK has slid in the ring behind him!  ROCK BOTTOM!!!!  The ref has no choice but to throw the match out! ….

THE ROCK and RVD are in the middle of the ring and nose to nose, as RVD takes exception to ROCK being invioled in the finish …. RVD suddenly bolts for the ropes and hits a flip dive over the top onto HALL and NASH on the floor!  X-PAC is in and misses a spin kick on THE ROCK, resulting in a spinebuster from ROCK followed by the People’s Elbow!  ROCK stands tall to end the show, holding up the AEW title as HBK is fuming at ringside ….

i have said it before and i will say it again.The way you put your shows together really helps it stand out.
