HLW Presents J-Crown 2012 - Night 1 (5/15/12) Jcrown2

Adamle: Hello everyone and welcome to Night one of the J-Crown Tournament. I'm Mike Adamle alongside Steve Lombardo. Charlie Sheen couldn't be with us tonight but we have a special guest. Former World Juniorweight Champion, Alex Koslov. Welcome Alex.

Koslov: I would like to say it's an honor to be here, But alas, this is not the case.

Adamle: Why thank you, Alex. Steve the top junior champions from around the UWF are here to show who is the best.

Lombardi: Well Mike, 2nd best is more accurate. X-Pac is the World Junior Heavyweight Champion. In my opinion that makes him the best. But the winner of this tournament will in fact get a shot at X-Pac and that title at a future date.

Adamle: Also tonight we will see our World Heavyweight Champion, Tully Blanchard face off against HLW Champion, Mr Wonderful Paul Orndorff. Plus a Battle Royal to determine who will get a shot at Mercedes Martinez' HLW Ladies Championship on Night 2.

Lombardi: We could be crowning a new World champion right here tonight.

Adamle: Well as there are 9 entries in this tournament. We had a random drawing to see which 2 men will have a qualifying match to to be part of the 8 man tournament. The 2 names chosen are The IWS Junior Heavyweight Champion, Ultimo Dragon and the RWA Mid American champion, "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert. Your thoughts on these 2 men, Alex?

Koslov: I know Eddie quite well. He's a typical American wrestler, he will break any rule to win. As for Dragon. He's the high Flyer of this tournament. His problem is he worries too much about these fans. When he forgot about them and had Sonny Ono guiding him he was much more intimidating.

Eddie Gilbert vs Ultimo Dragon

(UD is pumped to start and is all over Eddie using his unique mix of Lucha and Japan styles. He hits a Hurracanrana sending Gilbert to the floor. He goes for an Asail Moonsault but Gilbert counters and drops him on his head. Now Eddie rolls him in and covers. 1.. 2.. NO! Gilbert goes to work on Dragon hitting a jawbuster, then puts him in a headlock trying to wear him down further. Eddie has control and goes for a Back drop but Dragon reads it and turn it into a Sunset Flip for a 2 count. UD then charges Gilbert as he rises and Eddie goes for the Hot Shot. He nails it! He covers...1.. 2.. 3!)

Winner: "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert

Adamle: What an opening match. It went back and forth but in the end it was Eddie Gilbert who moves into the 8 man tourney.

Lombardi: He's still at a disadvantage because he will still have to compete again tonight against Eric Embry.

Koslov: He will have his hands tough in that match.

Adamle: It's hands FULL, Alex. Up next our Women's Battle Royal. who will get a shot at Mercedes?

Lombardi: Mike correcting someone else's English...I've now heard it all.

Women's Battle Royal

1. Naomi Night
2. Manami Toyota
3. Mariko Yoshida
4. Cameron Lynn
5. Kaitlyn
6. Wesna Busic
7. Eve Torres
8. Wendi Richter
9. LOVE
10. Eden Black

(All 10 women want this shot and show it. Cameron and Naomi try to watch each other's back. Meanwhile LOVE is laying back with Wesna out in front protecting her. Eve teams with newcomer Kaitlyn to eliminate Eden Black. Toyota goes after Wesna. Landing big forearms but from behind attacks Yoshida. She has Manami in a Dragon Sleeper. Wendi dropkicks Wesna into LoVE then starts to attack them both Kaitlyn powerslams Cameron. Eve hits a Bulldog on Naomi. Wesna finally uses her power to dump Richter over the top. LOVE is staggered leaning on the ropes. Kaitlyn sees this and charges with a clothesline. Wesna pushes LOVE out the way and gets taken over by the clothesline instead. Yoshida has Toyota by the hair and gets a running start to toss her over but at the last second Manami hooks the ropes and sends Yoshida over instead.

Left in the ring is Naomi, Cameron, Kaitlyn, Eve, Manami & LOVE. Kaitlyn has Cameron up and is ready to eliminate her. But Naomi makes the save and they both instead take out Kaitlyn. Eve slams Manami to the mat the climbs for her Moonsault but LOVE races over and pushes her off and Eve is now eliminated. While LOVE is taunting her Toyota dropkicks her from behind sending LOVE out too. It's down to Manami Toyota, Naomi and Cameron. The 2 members of the Negro League attack but Toyota is fighting them both off and even hits a double Bulldog on them as the crowd cheers. Toyota grabs Naomi and drags her to the ropes. Naomi is fighting and calling out to Cameron. Cameron sees this and comes over then stops for a second. She bends down and grabs both their legs and flips them over.)

Winner: Cameron Lynn

(After the match Naomi looks dismayed that Cameron eliminated her but Cameron exclaims "We won". Naomi calms down and nods yes and raises Cameron's hand.)

Adamle: I thought we might have some trouble there, Steve.

Lombardi: Well it's every woman for herself and I think in the end Naomi realized that.

Koslov; Is this over? Can we get to some real wrestling now?

Adamle: Well Alex up next is Denny Brown from SCR vs XWA Junior Champ, and former WORLD champion, Michael Shane.

Koslov: Denny Brown is as interesting as a cow grazing. As for Michael Shane, I know him all too well. He is a skilled wrestler his problem lies in mental focus.

Denny Brown vs Michael Shane

(This match is a ground battle. Shane is a fine wrestler but Denny is at his best in this style and continues to gain the advantage on Michael. Michael gets frustrated and does a hair-pull takedown. From the ground Brown does a drop toe hold and brings him down again. Shane gets up and now Denny does a Hair-pull takedown on him. Shane gets a rope break and slides out the ring kicking the barrier in frustration. Denny goes out after him. Shane rolls back in as brown re enters Michael puts the boots to him. Then hits a side slam and a running Legdrop. He covers for 2. Shane goes for a slam but Brown floats over and hits a German. He covers 1.. 2.. NO. Denny goes for a figure Four Leglock. But Shane hooks him into a small package. 1.. 2.. MO! They both get up and Shane hits the Super-Kick. He covers 1.. 2.. NOOOO! Brown gets his foot on the rope. Shane slams Brown in the center of the ring he goes up top for an elbow drop....He misses! Brown locks on a Fujiwara Arm bar. Shane is scrambling for the ropes. He makes it! Brown goes after them and their tangled with the ropes. The referee tries to separate them He doesn't see Denny stick a thumb into the eye of Michael Shane. He does a double leg takedown the ref counts and doesn't see Brown using the ropes for leverage 1.. 2.. 3)

Winner: Denny Brown

Adamle: Well the SCR South East Junior Heavyweight Champion moves on.

Lombardi: That was one hell of a match. Both these men could've won that.

Koslov: As I said. Shane was the better athlete but Brown out-smarted him.

Adamle: Your insight so far has been great. Up next WLW Junior Heavyweight Champion, Luke Robinson takes on HIP Light Heavyweight Champion, Naomichi Marufuji.

Koslov: I have to admit I know very little about either of these men. Which means they're probably not very good.

Luke Robinson vs Naomichi Marufuji

(Luke is very cocky at the onset. He extends his hand to Marufuji then pulls it away and laughs. They tie up and Luke backs him to the ropes the ref calls for the break and Luke backs off but lightly pats the face of Marufuji. They tie up again. This time Marufuji backs Luke into the corner. Marufuji breaks clean but Luke pats him on the head like a dog. Marufuji hauls off and start chopping Robinson in the chest. The sound is echoing thru the arena as the fans let out another "OOOHHHH" with each Knife hand smash. Luke is able to land a low kick and a forearm uppercut to halt marufuji. Then a picture perfect Dropkick. He stands playing to the crowd who boo loudly. He whips Marufuji into the buckle and follows with a running Shoulderblock to the mid-section. He tosses him out then goes to the 2nd Rope for an elbow. He hits it and overs but only gets 2. Luke lands a few well placed kicks. He sends Marufuji into the corner again but when he charges he runs into a big kick. Then Marufuji hits the Shiranui (Sliced Bread #2). He covers 1.. 2.. NO! Luke gets his shoulder up as the crowd groans. Both men are up trading chops and punches. Luke goes for a kick but Naomichi catches it. Capture Suplex! Luke is down as Marufuji heads to the top. He goes for a Frog Splash but Luke gets his knees up. Luke grabs him into a Backslide. !.. 2.. 3!)

Winner: Luke Robinson

Adamle: Whoa would you consider that an upset, Steve?

Lombardi: I would but only a slight one. If you've been watching WLW this kid has been on fire.

Koslov: He was lucky. Marufuji Had him but went for the high risk spot and it cost him.

Adamle: Up next HLW takes stage as The Human Tornado takes on the SSW Impact Champion, Cody Rhodes.

Koslov: Cody is an excellent young competitor. He got out of the Mammoth shadow of his obese father and has become his own man.

Adamle: And the Human Tornado?

Koslov: The Human what?

Cody Rhodes vs The Human Tornado

(Cody is in the ring first standing very stoically then the Music hits and out comes The Human Tornado. HT takes his time getting to the ring as he is High-fiving fans and dancing down the aisle. From out of nowhere Cody jumps out the ring and pearl harbors Tornado. Rhodes slams him head first into the steel railing then fires a series of piston-like rights to the head of HT. Cody lifts his fist in the air showing the fans the blood that has come from a laceration on the head of HT. Cody slams HT head first on to the apron which leaves a big blood stain. He rolls him in but the ref cuts him off. The bell has never rung. Cody is screaming to ring it and finally he does and Cody kicks HT right in the face. He covers 1.. 2.. NO! HT kicks out as the fans cheer. Cody drops a knee into HT's back then clamps on a rear chinlock. Tornado is busted fairly badly.

Cody slams HT to the mat then readies for the Disaster Kick. HT rises but he ducks the kick and hits an Atomic Drop followed by a running Lariat.Cody is dazed and seated in the corner Ht quickly unleashes the House Party kicks much to fans delight. Afterwards HT takes a knee still trying to clear his head. He gets up and grabs Cody for his finisher the African Destroyer but Rhodes back drops out of it. Cody hits a wheelbarrow Suplex. He covers 1.. 2.. NO! HT kicks out once more. Cody goes up top he leaps at HT but HT moves out the way He struggles up grabs Cody. African Destroyer! Both men are down Ht crawls over and drapes his arm over Rhodes 1.. 2.. NOOOO!! Cody grabs the ropes with his left hand. HT slaps the mat. He lifts Cody up again slowly. He scoops him for a slam but Cody wriggles free and ha him from behind. Cross Rhodes! HT is out! Cody covers 1.. 2.. 3!)

Winner: Cody Rhodes

Koslov: Ha! Cody beats the Human Jabroni.

Adamle: HT was fighting from behind the whole way.

Lombardi: Still He was able to hit the African Destroyer but Cody was too close to the ropes.

Adamle: Well Alex its our final tournament match of Night 1. CCW junior champ, Eric Embry and the man we saw victorious earlier tonight, "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert.

Koslov: Are you sure Embry is a junior? Do we have a scale? Anyway. Embry should win. He's fresh and He has been on a roll these last few months despite being defeated at Wrestlemania.

Eddie Gilbert vs Eric Embry w/ Percy Pringle

(Pringle is the ring barking at Gilbert who seems amused. Embry tells Percy to not get involved tonight. Pringle leaves the ring. The match is hard hitting. Not much in the way of high flying. The match winds up spilling to the outside. Embry hits a body shot then suplexes Gilbert on the floor. Eric is in the ring as the ref starts the count on Eddie. He makes it in at 7. Embry continues to wear him down. Gilbert fights back he hits a face plant. Then applies a rear chinlock Embry is able to stand with him on his shoulders and drops backwards. Both men are down. Embry is up first and sends Gilbert into the ropes Eddie ducks a clothesline. Then comes back with a Flying Back Elbow. He covers for 2.

Eddie continues to beat down Eric a while. Eddie goes for the Hot Shot but Embry lands a well-placed kick. Then Embry clotheslines Gilbert and the both go over the top. Embry re-enters first. Gilbert tries to enter but Eric has him and hokks him for a suplex. Gilberts floats over  and hits a Belly to Back Suplex. Both men shoulders are down. The referee counts 1.. 2.. Embry lifts his shoulder...3!)

Winner: Eric Embry

Adamle: Wow looking at the replay Embry barely gets that right shoulder up in time.

Lombardi: Great call by the referee. That was a split-second in time.

Koslov: These 2 men were evenly matched. I think it was Embry's extra girth that made the difference there.

Adamle: Well the first round is done. That means one thing. The UWF World Heavyweight Title Match

Lombardi: This is an interesting mach-up. In the past Tully Blanchard has been complimentary to Paul Orndorff. There definitely is a level of respect here.

Koslov: That may be so but as a former World Champion I can assure you, once that bell rings all that is forgotten.

Main Event: UWF World Heavyweight Championship-

"Mr Wonderful" Paul Orndorff vs Tully Blanchard(c) w/Dark Journey

(The crowd is somewhat mixed but most are for Hometown boy Orndorff. Match begins with a quick handshake. Then a quick forearm shiver by the challenger. Orndorff is unleashing big blows early on Tully. He whips Tully into the ropes and hits a Flap Jack. Paul bounds off the ropes and drops an elbow to to the neck of Blanchard. Then another. He covers but only gets 1. Tully scrambles to the corner but Orndorff follows in hitting right hooks to his rib cage. Orndorff definitely has Tully on the ropes here early. Dark Journey tries to jump on the apron. Paul tries to backhand her but she jumps down quickly. That second was all the champ needed. he kicks Orndorff in the knee and he goes down.

Tully is still feeling the effects of the early barrage but is now working over the right knee of Paul. He uses a Spinning Toe Hold which is really cranking on the knee but Orndorff refuses to quit. Blanchard does it again and Paul reaches up and eye gouges the Champ. Orndorff drags himself to the corner and uses the ropes to lift himself. He waits for Blanchard to turn towards him and then blasts him with a clothesline. Both men go down. Orndorff is trying to shake the leg out. He gingerly stands and As does Tully and Paul drops him back down with a hard right. Paul is able to put a little more weight on the leg and bodyslams Tully. He applies a surfboard type hold on Blanchard. The ref is asking Tully if he's had enough but he says no. Blanchard gets to a kneeand starts to fight out of it. When Paul releases the hold an blasts Tully behind the head. Paul hits a Side Slam and covers for 2.

The crowd is starting to get behind Orndorff. If Orndorff hears the cheers he doesn't show it. Orndorff Irish Whips Tully Towards the Corner but Tully reverses it and as Paul bounds of the buckle Blanchard kicks him right behind the right knee and Orndorff falls to the mat. The champ moves in quick and locks on the Figure Four Leglock. Orndorff is in agony. This is his shot at the World title and he finds the strength to slowly make his way towards the ropes, But he doesn't make it as he passes out. The ref counts 1.. 2.. NOOOO! Orndorff sits up as the fans cheer. He is now really pushing himself past the pain. He reaches out and grabs the bottom Rope. Tully waits till the count of 4 before releasing. Orndorff is in the ropes trying to shake the leg out but he looks in bad shape. Tully comes in and goes for the leg but Paul does a sprawl and drops a Sledgehammer to Tully's back. Then a Front facelock. The fans are appreciating these 2 wrestler's heart and desire. Tully gets to his feet and grabs Paul but he quickly rolls up the champ in a small package! 1.. 2.. NO! Tully kicks out! As Blanchard rises STO by Paul! He covers 1.. 2.. NOOOO! The fans can't believe it. Orndorff does a throat slash and grabs Tully. The fans know what's coming. Dark Journey is besides herself. Orndorff lifts him for the Piledriver...but his leg gives out!! He releases Blanchard Who then chop blocks him. He then lifts up the challenger and hits the Slingshot Suplex. He covers 1.. 2.. 3!)

Winner and STILL UWF Heavyweight Champion: Tully Blanchard

Adamle: I can't believe it. Orndorff had this.

Koslov: That's why Tully Blanchard is the World Champion. He outlasted Orndorff. That's what champions do.

Lombardi: This was Orndorff's first shot at the title. I'm sure it wont be his last.

Adamle: Well folks that's all for Night one. Tune in for Night 2 coming up in 4 days. As we see who wins the J-Clown. Thank You Steve and Special guest Alex Koslov. Good Night!
