Cole: Also on this show We will have the World Heavyweight Champion defending his title. Last year he barely defeated Paul Orndorff. Well tonight the rematch one year in the making. Paul Orndorff challenges Tully Blanchard for the World title. Add to that a Women's Battle Royal in which the winner will get a shot at Mercedes Martinez on Night 2 for the HLW Ladies Championship. Now As last year we will have 2 randomly chosen entrants who will have a "Play in" match. It will Be SCWE's own Adrian Street will face Joey Mercury of DSW. Lets get to it.

Adrian Street vs Joey Mercury w/Stacey Kiebler

(Adrian starts the match with slapping the face of Joey. Mercury is hot. He looks to go after Street but he jumps out the ring as Miss Jackie holds up a mirror and he primps his hair. Joey jumps out the ring also and the chase is on.Jackie jumps in front of Joel daring him to touch her. Stacey moves him to the side and slaps the taste out Jackie's mouth. Street is shocked and get put down by a right hand by Mercury. Joey rans Adrian's head onto the apron and rolls him in. Joey enters but is met with a knee lift. Street delivers a Slam and drops an elbow.  He goes for a Figure Four but Joey kicks him off. Does a kip up and hits Street with a Dropkick. Joey grabs Street and hits a Bulldog. He climbs up top but Adrian is up and meets him there. They fight it out but Street gains the advantage and hits a Super-Plex. 1.. 2..  NO! Street is blowing kisses to Jackie he gently reaches down to lift Joey but he is caught in a Small Package! 1.. 2.. NO! Adrian is angry and kicks Joey in the gut. Side Neckbreaker! Adrian now goes up for the Splash. He dives! But Joey gets his knees up! He hooks Adrian...Double Underhook DDT! 1.. 2.. 3!)

Winner: Joey Mercury

Cole: Big win for the DSW Junior Champion.

Armstrong: Mercury has been on a roll as of late. Utilizing a mix of ground based and aerial attacks. If he makes it to tommorrow He could win this.

Lombardi: Thats right. Due to the luck of the draw. Joey Mercury must win another match tonight to make it to night 2. We will see him later.

Cole: Up next. We will see who gets a shot at Mercedes Martinez on night 2.

Medics come out to check on her. As soon as that happens the Japanese women attack Naomi. Kana hits a series of kicks. Aja grabs her by the throat and sends her over the top. Taylor Wilde eliminates Black with a Flying Headscissors. Hotties get rid of Taryn Terrell. Immediately Candice is dropkicked to the floor. LOVE and Wilde look at the 3 intimidating Japanese Trio. LOVE shoves Taylor into them and eliminates herself. The 3 Women pound on Wilde. Hamada goes to send her over but she hooks the ropes and uses her legs to carry Hamada to the Floor. Kana charges and Taylor Leap Frogs her then hits a Mule kick to Kana's back which sends her to the floor.

But Kelly Kelly is rying to stay in the match telling the hedics she is fine. Her back is turned and she is blasted by Aja. aylor hits a series of dropkicks each one sending Kong back towards the ropes. Aja's back is to the ropes. She hits the ropes and Aja hits a Spinning Back fist. Taylor looks out on her feet. Aja scoops her up and is trying to toss her out but Taylor is trying to desperately hold on. Kelly Kelly is up and grabs Aja's leg and sends them both over.

Winner: Kelly Kelly

Cole: Kelly Kelly who looked done in the opening moments comes back to win!

Lombardi: Now she gets Mercedes Martinez. Not sure that makes her a winner considering Mercedes recent mood.

Cole: Up next the newly crowned HLW Cruiserweight Champion, Chris Candido faces the APW Juniorweight Champion, Paul London.

Arnstrong: This guy London is amazing. He has a motor that never stops. He can beat you in so many ways. As for Candido. I don't believe I've ever fasced him but his reputation preceeds him. The leader of the Uprising group he is as good as they come.

Chris Candido vs Paul London

(As always The Uprising have a contingent of fans in the arena but the majority is behind Paul London. London keeps Chris off-balance with a number of unorthodox maneuvers. Candido has to do something and he does. He rakes the eyes of Paul. Now Candido begins to give a Suplex Clinic. Belly to Belly, Side Suplex and then a hanging Suplex which gets a few cheers. Candido looks to get London on the buckle but Paul hits a hard kick to the face. and again. Then he does a Cross Body. 1.. 2.. NO! Candido kicks out. As he rises London gets him in a reverse roll up for another near fall.He goes for a Sunsetb Flip but Candido grabs the ropes and the referee doesn't see it! 1.. 2..

NO!!! London kicks out anyway. But now chris is kneeling over him raining piston like punches. Candido rises and lifts his arms looking for praise from the crowd. He doesn't get it. but when he turns he does get a Super-Kick for his trouble. London jumps out to the apron and does a Slingshot Senton. He covers 1.. 2..

NO!! Both men stand and start trading punches. Candido lands a kick and goes for a Powerbomb. London counters into a Frankensteiner! 1.. 2.. 3!)

Winner: Paul London

Lombardi: That was some match these 2 men left it all out there.

Cole: It goes to show you just how important this is to these men. Now we have a match up I really wanted to see. WLW Junior Kingpin Nigel McGuinness will face HIP's Hakushi.

Armstrong: This man Hakushi is a bit of a Mystery. The little I have seen of him has been very impressive. As for Nigel, I know him well...too well. The man's skill is rivaled only by his arrogance.

Nigel McGuinness vs Hakushi

(Nigel is not sure what to make of Hakushi at first. the Hip Junior champ uses that to his advantage by coming out fast and hard rifling chops to the chest Nigel. Nigel falls back into the ropes and goes for the Jawbreaker Lariat but Hakushi gets both his arms up to block. Still the force drives him back. He then advances but McGuinness catches him with an arm drag. He now has him down in an armbar. Hakushi works his way to his feet and hip locks Nigel over. He drops an elbow but Nigel rolls away. He then hits the tatooed man with a few European Uppercuts.  He sends him to the ropes and hits a Flying Back Elbow. Hakushi rises but goes right back down from a clothesline. Migel hits a Back Suplex and covers for a 2 count. Hakushi gets off an enzuguiri then he locks on a nerve pinch to the trapeezus of Nigel.

Nigel fights out with elbows. But Hakushi quickly hits a Neckbreaker. He covers 1.. 2.. Nigel kicks out! Hakushi climbs the ropes possibly looking for his "Praying Splash". igel is up! He goes up and nails Hakushi with another European Uppercut. Hakushi is stunned and crotches himself in the corner. McGuinness seizes the oppurtunity to hit the Tower of London! He covers for the 3 count.)

Winner: Nigel McGuinness

Armstrong: Outstanding match.

Lombardi: That could have gone either way in the end it was one mishap by Hakushi that cost him the contest. Both these young men were impressive.

Cole: But only one can move on to night 2 and that is Nigel McGuinness. I'd say he may have been the favorite coming in. Right now we have the Maple Leaf Champion, Dolph Ziggler coming to the ring to face SECW Junior Champ, Eddie Mansfield along with Percy Pringle.

Armstrong: Mansfield & Pringle are a devilish Duo. I know about Pringle first hand. He will do anything to help his man get a win. Dolph, a member of Excellence International, is my pick to win this whole thing. Since joining with Tully Blanchard he has really taken off.

Eddie Mansfield w/Percy Pringle vs Dolph Ziggler

(Neither of these men are "High Flyers" but the are fighters and that is exactly what they do. Mansfield jabs a thumb in the windpipe of Dolph. He then hits a back stabber. He covers for barely a 2. Eddie now lays in a few stomps as Percy applauds. Eddie stays in control. Getting a couple of near falls. But Dolph catches him with a Jawbreaker stopping his momentum. He follows with a Powerslam then a High Jumping Elbow drop. He covers for 2. He waits and hits the Legdrop Bulldog. 1.. 2..

NO! Dolph backs up looking for the Zig-Zag. but Mansfield has it scouted and drops forward and grabs the ropes. Dolph tries to pull him away but Mansfield does a Double Leg dive. He has his feetv on the 2nd rope. 1.. 2.. NOO! the referee sees his feet and stops the count. Pringle is livid and yelling at the ref. Dolph rolls to the apron. He and Eddie tie up each one trying to suplex the other. Dolph looks like he will win the battle. Then Percy pulls his leg out from under him. Doph slips and catches his own throat across the top rope. Eddie Suplexes him in. The referee is checking on the throat of Dolph. Percy flips Eddie a taped object. Then Pringle tries to get in the ring. As the ref goes to stop him Eddie jams the object into the windpipe of Dolph. Then pulls him up and delivers a Powerslam. 1.. 2.. 3)

Winner: Eddie Mansfield

Cole: You can hear the crowd booing as Mansfield gets his hand raised.

Armstrong: Like I said they are devious.

Lombardi: I'm no fan of Dolph Ziggler but I admit he got robbed here tonight.

Cole: Well its time for our final tournament match of the night. Joey Mercury returns to face AWA Champion "Mr Electricity" Steve Regal.

Armstrong. You have to wonder how much Mercury has after that rough opening match. As for Regal this man has taken the AWA by storm. He is the consumate wrestler. But for some reason he feels the need to not have confidence in ust that and will break the rules if he gets the chance.

Steve Regal vs Joey Mercury w/Stacy Kiebler

(Regal realizes stamina may be a factor here and immediately takes Joey down. He is really working his ground game. Making Mercury work. Stacy is trying to rally her charge but she has a concerned look on her face. Regal has an arm lock on but Joey calls upon reserves and lifts Regal up and sends him crashing to the mat, breaking the hold. Steve stands only to be scooped up & slammed by Joey. Joey hits the ropes and hits a knee Drop. He covers for 2. He goes for another slam but Regal; floats over and hits a Russian Leg Sweep into a leg lock. Mercury is in pain. But doesn't quit. He inches his way and makes the rope break.

Now Regal stomps on the injured knee of Joey. He locks on a Spinning Toe Hold. Mercury refuses to quit despite the pain. Steve does it again and this time Joey reaches up and pulls him by the hair into a small package! 1.. 2..

NOOO!!! Regal is in shock as he makes sure it wasn't 3. Joey uses the ropes to get to his feet gingerly. Regal charges but Joey gets his good leg up and Regal runs into the boot. Now Joey charges and Regal does a basement dropkick to the bad knee. Mercury goes down and Steve Rolls him up with a handful of tights as the ref counts 1.. 2.. 3!)

Winner: Steve Regal

Cole: Oh man! Tough break for Joey Mercury.

Lombardi: Regal earned that win despite the tights pull at the end. What a great first round!

Armstrong: This has been a great night of Junior action.

Cole: Not over yet! We still have the World Heavyweight Championship to be decided.

Tully Blanchard vs Paul Orndorff - UWF World Heavyweight Championship

(Intros are made and there is a difference in Orndorff. There is no bravado. No flexing. His face is emotionless. He is focused. There is only one thought in his mind, "WIN". The match starts and they both take turns on offense early but But Paul reverses a Suplex and then brings up Tully...and holds him there...and holds him more. The fans are starting to cheer. Finally Orndorff sends him crashing to the mat as the crowd pops. Tully struggles to his feet only to get his head taken off by an Orndorff clothesline. Paul starts to pull Tully up by the hair when the champ rakes the eyes of his challenger. He lands a boot to the sternum then hits a knee lift. Tully hits a series of standing knee drops to the chest and ribs. He then applies a reverse Chinlock.

Orndorff Starts to try to work his way up. It takes a bit but he finally maneuvers himself to hit a backdrop Suplex on Blanchard. Both men are down in the ring. As the ref starts a count. Tully gets to his feet first. He fires a roundhouse at Paul but he blocks it and pops him with a right hand. Tully swings again with the same result. Paul sends him into the corner then starts driving his shoulder into his mid-section. Paul pulls him out and hits a Powerslam for a 2 count. From out the back comes Chris Candido. Paul sees him and starts telling him to go back. Chris seems to not understand the reasoning of this. As Paul is distracted with Candido, Tully clips him from behind. Now Tully goes to work on the leg of Orndorff.

Candido who didn't leave is now slapping the mat trying to get Orndorff back on track. Tully applies a Figure Four but Paul is able to make a Rope Break. Now Dolph Ziggler makes his way to ringside. In the ring Tully hits a Bulldog. He sets up for his finisher. He hits it! 1.. 2..

NOOOO!!! Orndorff gets his foot on the bottom rope!!! Blanchard grits his teeth. He pulls Paul up again for another Slingshot Suplex. Orndorff blocks it. He gets free and hits a Short-Arm Clothesline. He signals to the crowd. You can see him favoring the leg but he doesn't care. He Gets Tully up...Piledriver!!! But Paul is grabbing at his knee. It takes a moment to collect himself and covers. 1.. 2.. But Ziggler puts Blanchard's foot under the bottom rope and yells at the ref to look. The count stops. Orndorff is pissed. Candido chases Dolph with a chair. Meanwhile Paul hooks the leg of the champ. but the referee is distracted by Dolph diving in the ring trying to get away from Candido. Paul slaps the mat 3 times himself. He can't believe this is happening. The ref pulls the chair away from Dolph & Chris. Orndorff is up yelling at he ref then yelling at Candido to leave the ring. Tully staggers up and grabs the chair ad rams it into the kidneys of Orndorff.  he tosses it away. Now the ring is cleare and Tully struggles but gets Paul up and hits another Slingshot Suplex. 1.. 2.. 3!)

Winner & STILL Champion: Tully Blanchard

Cole: Oh man! Paul had this won! He should be the World Champion right now.

Armstrong: This is where not playing by the rules comes back to haunt you.

Lombardi: I can't blame Orndorff. He told Candido to leave.

Cole: Regardless, Tully retains again. This was a great night of action and we have one more to go. Join us for night 2. In a couple of days. For Steve Lombardi & special guest Brad Armstrong, I'm Michael Cole. Good Night!

Armstrong: Do I get to say "winning"?
