Shooting Stars Wrestling #264 - 'The 8th Anniversary Show'

The camera pans the capacity crowd as they are all hold up their signs and are pumping their fists and chanting 'S-S-W!  S-S-W!  S-S-W!' ....





They send it up to the ring to Melissa Santos for tonight's opening match ....





THe lights drop and we hear the sound of a heart beating .... With each beat, a new image appears on the screen ....








And then the music hits ....








.... And out comes Prince Devitt, fully transformed into FINN BALOR!!!!  The fans are totally marking out and chanting 'HOLY SHIT!' as Balor makes his way to the ring .... James Storm doesn't know what to think, as he has a look of shock and fear on his face ....


Match 1: for the SSW Television title
(Champion) 'Cowboy' James Storm w/ Big Zeke
- vs -
Finn Balor

Storm is jawing with the ref and Big Zeke as the bell rings, and Balor charges across the ring and hits the running dropkick sending Storm crashing back into the corner!  Balor goes up top for the coup de grace already, but Zeke reaches in and pulls Storm under the rope to the outside .... Balor with a diving cross body that takes them both out!!!!  We are off and running from here with Balor in total control .... Balor lights Storm up with strikes and gets a couple of near falls, but Storm turns the tide with a dragon screw leg whip to Balors injured knee!  Storm goes all out in his assault on the knee, even locking in a figure four on Balor around the ringpost!  He breaks at 4, but Balor is on the outside and the ref starts counting .... Balor barely makes it back in the ring at 9!  Storm goes for the figure four again, but Balor kicks him off into the turnbuckle .... Pele out of nowhere by Balor!  Both men are down!  They get to their feet, then trade some strikes but Balor fires back with the slingblade!  Balor gets a 2 count!  Balor goes for the Bloody Sunday, but Storm kicks him in the knee!  LAST CALL SUPERKICK!  1 ... 2 ... Balor kicks out!!!!  Storm sets for the 8 Second Ride, but Balor grabs the top rope to escape .... Balor lands on the apron and rocks Storm with a rope-assisted enziguri!  Zeke tries to grab Balor but he nails a soccer kick to the chest!  Balor up top and hits the double stomp to Storms back!!!!  He grabs Storm and hits the Bloody Sunday!!!!  1 ... 2 ... 3!!!!  New champion!!!!


The fans LOVE this!  They shower the ring with streamers as Balor is handed the tv title ....





Joe Rogan leaves the announce table to get a post match interview with the new champion .... Rogan congratulates him and says he has never seen anything like what we just saw .... he asks Balor for a few words, to which Balor just replies 'FINN ... HAS ... RISEN!'

Match 2: singles match
Bobby Roode
- vs -
Bobby Lashley

The announcers talk up Lashleys split wrestling/MMA career and how he hasn't lost inside the cage .... But Bobby Roode has something to prove after he has kind of been lost in the shuffle since the split of Beer Money .... The match goes back and forth the whole way, with Roode being able to match Lashleys power by out-wrestling him .... There are several near falls down the stretch where it looks like Roode has the match won, and he locks on the crippler cross face on Lashley and nearly gets the submission .... Lashley battles back, hitting a spear for a near fall!  Roode avoids the Dominator, but Lashley catches him in a Davey Boy Smith running power slam and gets the 3 count!  

Lashley offers Roode a handshake after the match, but Roode is frustrated and just walks off dejected, leaving Lashley standing there ....

'GIVE ME BACK MY BULLETS' by Lynard Skynard hits and out come the BRISCOES!  Holy shit the Briscoes are back!  The fans love it as Jay and Mark head toward the ring, with Mark jumping around and acting all crazy ....





Huge 'WELCOME BACK!' chants as Jay takes the mic ....


Jay - 'You know, for the last couple of months ever since my brother got hurt, I've been sittin at home because the people in the back told me don't have anything for me creatively .... They ain't got nothing for Jay Briscoe .... Hell son, you ain't got to be creative with the Briscoes .... You just turn us loose and let us do what we do .... Now, we are just fine with getting paid to stay at home and work on the chicken farm, but we pro wrestlers .... We like to fight .... And I'm sick and damn tired of turning on my tv every week and seeing teams like the Young Bucks or the Wolves or f'n James Storm & Big Zeke talk about how they are the best .... You're looking at the baddest team walking Gods green earth boy, and we are back in the game .... So you boys can have your match tonight, but rest assured that the Briscoes are coming for our SSW tag straps and there ain't nothing can be done about that ....'


Match 3: tag team match
American Wolves (Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards)
- vs -
Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson)

The Briscoes remain at the announce table to add color commentary to this match .... Basically they talk trash about both teams and about how they are the baddest team around and they are back ....

The match itself is what you have come to expect from these two teams .... The Wolves offer a handshake at the start, but the Bucks give them the 'suck it!' crotch chop instead .... The Wolves attack and the action is all over the place .... Back and forth the whole way, and the fans are chanting 'This is Awesome!'  Both teams take turns hitting a lot of their signature moves .... The Wolves connect with the Alarm Clock (pop up by Eddie into a roundhouse by Davey) on Nick .... They go for the 'Thrill of the Hunt' (dual diving double stomps), but Matt breaks the move up .... Double super kick to Edwards takes him out .... Richards blocks a superkick by Nick and locks on an ankle lock, but Matt with a superkick to Richards!  The Bucks grab Davey and nail the 'More Bang for your Buck!' .... Nick keeps Eddie from getting in the ring while Matt makes the cover for the 3 count!  

The Bucks get their win back after hitting Eddie Edwards with the More Bang for your Buck





The Bucks celebrate, and they come around to the announce table and start talking trash to the Briscoes .... They get in each other's faces and the Bucks give them the 'suck it' crotch chop, which pisses the Briscoes off .... They go after the Bucks and there is some pushing and shoving before security can come in and break it up ....

Jay Lethal
- vs -
'The Pope' Elijah Burke

Pope starts the match off with a pimp slap to Lethal, which causes Lethal to snap .... Lethal beats down Burke after a cheap shot, but Burke battles back .... Burke gets the knees up as Lethal goes for the 'Hail to the King' elbow drop, and then works over the ribs .... Lethal shows great resiliency in fighting back, hitting a superkick and then the lethal combination .... Coji clutch, but Burke escapes to the ropes .... Lethal goes up top but Burke runs up the ropes and hits an X factor from the top!  2 count!  Burke pulls down the knee pads and goes for the Elijah Express but Lethal moves and Burke crashes in the buckles!  Superkick by Lethal!  LETHAL INJECTION!  Lethal hooks the leg and gets the 3 count!

Match 5: 6 man tag team match
Natural Selection (Ethan Carter III, Eli Drake, Brian Cage)
- vs -
The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins)

This is a WAR!  We get a long stand off in the middle of the ring to start, then when the bell rings all hell breaks loose .... Everything is out of control to start and the ref is just letting it go, but finally Ambrose and Drake end up back in the ring .... Ambrose gets worked over by Natural Selection but gets the hot tag to Reigns and he cleans house .... All 6 men end up in the ring and Rollins and Ambrose hit dual suicide dives to the outside on Drake and EC3!  Cage and Reigns battle it out, and there is a ref bump in the ring .... EC3 grabs a chair and lays out Reigns!  EC3 uses the chair on Rollins and Ambrose, then Natural Selection puts Rollins through the announce table with the Shields own triple powerbomb!!!!  Eli Drake pulls out a pair of handcuffs and they handcuff Reigns to the top rope!!!!  Ambrose is left alone against all 3 members of Natural Selection and they surround him in the ring .... Ambrose looks up and sees what's going on, and Natural Selection closes in .... Ambrose goes nuts and starts fighting off all of them!  The numbers game finally catches up with him, and Cage nails a tornado lariat that nearly takes his head off .... EC3 looks Reigns in the eye and taunts him as they beat on Ambrose, and Eli Drake pulls the ref back in the ring .... EC3 picks Ambrose up and drills him with the 1%!  1 ... 2 ... 3!  Natural Selection has beaten the Shield at their own game, and the crowd is stunned ....

Match 6: 3 way dance for the SSW Genesis title  
(Champion) 'Cowboy' James Storm w/ Big Zeke
- vs -
Antonio Cesaro
- vs -
AJ Styles

The introductions are done once everyone is in the ring, and this one has a HUGE big-fight feel to it .... Styles and Cesaro team up on Storm at the beginning and toss him out, then they go one on one for some intense action .... AJ hits the phenomenal dropkick, but Storm comes back in and jumps him and tosses him out .... Cesaro turns the tables on Storm and gets him in the Cesaro Swing!!!!  He goes for the neutralizer but AJ comes back in with the superman forearm and breaks it up .... Now it's AJ and Storm in the ring .... Storm turns the tables on AJ and lands the last call superkick for a close 2 .... He goes for the 8 second ride but Cesaro is back in and picks BOTH MEN up on his shoulders for a double Samoan drop!  Sharpshooter to AJ and he looks like he might tap out but Storm breaks it up .... 8 second ride to Cesaro!  AJ with the pele to Storm .... Zeke is on the apron .... PELE TO ZEKE!!!!  AJ up top for the spiral tap but Cesaro catches him .... Storm is up and they hit a tower of doom spot!!!!  Storm goes for the super kick on AJ but he moves and Storm takes out Cesaro instead!  AJ with the styles clash on Storm!  1 ... 2 ... Zeke pulls the ref out!  AJ hits a flip dive over the top onto Zeke while Storm gets the beer bottle .... CRACKS IT OVER CESARO'S HEAD!  The ref doesn't see this and Storm covers Cesaro for the 3 count to retain the title!!!!  


Zeke helps Storm out of the ring as he clutches the SSW title .... Thanks for celebrating 8 years with us fans!  Here's to 8 more!!!!

Okerlund: Step on in World Television Champion, Dolph Ziggler. We heard from your challenger earlier. He's tough man, champ.


Ziggler - 'Well, if you listen to all the dirt sheets out there and whispers from some of these promoters, I guess I should just walk out there tonight and hand this title over to Stan Hansen huh? That's what I should do right? Because he's bigger than me right? He's tougher than me .... He's got a bull rope, and he chews tobacco like we're still in the 80's .... Or maybe, just maybe, I should go out there tonight and do what I've been doing for the last 7 months .... Hell, what I've been doing my whole career and that's proving to the world that I'm the best damn wrestler between those ropes night after night in city after city and promotion after promotion .... So do you think tonight is going to be any different? Hell no! I'm out there to do what I do best and that is steal the show and outperform whoever is unlucky enough to be in the ring against me .... So sit back and watch because it's showtime ....

(champions) Edge & Christian

'Cowboy' James Storm & Big Zeke

Edge and Storm start the match and there is a tense standoff in the middle of the ring .... Storm is jawing with Edge, who talks trash right back .... A lot of history between these 2 .... Storm slaps Edge across the face! Edge attacks Storm and the fight is on! Edge gets the better of the exchange and hammers Storm with rights, forcing him outside where Zeke consoles him .... Christian up top and comes flying off with a body press that takes both men out .... Storm is tossed back in and eats a flapjack from Edge .... Edge and Christian with quick tags in and out to work Storm over, but Zeke ambushes Edge with a clothesline outside the ring .... Storm tags in Zeke who hits a few power moves and the SSW tag champs take over .... Storm gets a breather but quickly orders Zeke to tag him back in so he can punish Edge .... Storm works him over but talks trash the whole time about how he's better .... Edge battles back, getting out of the 8 second ride and hitting the edge-o-magic .... Both men are down .... Edge makes the tag to Christian while Zeke enters the ring and Christian hits a missile dropkick but Zeke doesn't go off his feet! Christian with a clothesline but Zeke is only wobbled, and he hits the ropes for another one but Zeke takes him down with a big boot! Zeke scoops Christian up but Edge comes off the top with a flying body press onto Christian that finally takes Zeke down! Edge crouches for the spear .... STORM CUTS HIM OFF WITH THE LAST CALL!!!! Christian grabs Storm and hits the Un-prettier! 1 ... 2 ... Zeke breaks it up .... He grabs Christian .... BOOK OF EZEKIEL!!!! 1 ... 2 ... Foot on the ropes!!!! Zeke can't believe it! Edge is back up and he and Christian hit a double team clothesline that sends Zeke over the top rope! Edge hits a dive off the apron that wipes out Big Zeke! Storm comes from behind and low blows Christian!!!! He picks him up for the 8 second ride, but Edge breaks it up with a spear to Storm!!!! Edge hooks the leg ... 1 ... 2 ... 3!!!!

Hansen comes stomping to the ring and Ziggler jumps him before he can even get his vest and chaps off .... Ziggler surprises everyone by beating down Hansen with right hands and kicks .... Hansen rolls outside to get away, but Ziggler follows him and Hansen rams him back-first into the apron .... Ziggler rolls back in and Hansen is able to shrug off his vest and he hammers Ziggler with clubbing forearms .... Ziggler catches him with a straight poke to the eye Roddy Piper style then jumps on his back and slaps on a sleeper hold! Hansen fights it and tosses Ziggler off, then lands a big boot to the face .... Hansen hammers Ziggler with clubbing blows, but Ziggler rolls to the apron .... Hansen follows him, but Ziggler counters and hits a zig zag on the apron!!!! Both men fall to the outside of the ring and the ref starts his count .... Ziggler makes it in at 7, and Hansen at 9 .... Ziggler goes for the dropkick, but Hansen catches his legs and catapults Ziggler into the top turnbuckle! Hansen hits a back suplex and then grounds him with a chinlock .... Ziggler fights back to his feet and then drops down in a chinbreaker to break the hold! Ziggler with a pair of clotheslines and then a hangman neckbreaker for a 2 .... Ziggler mounts Hansen in the corner and hammers him with right hands, but Hansen counters by hitting a hot shot on Ziggler into the buckles .... Hansen picks Ziggler up and hits a piledriver! 1 ... 2 ... 2 count! Hansen sets for the lariat, but Ziggler ducks at the last second and goes behind into a crucifix pin! Hansen kicks out at 2!!!! Both men to their feet and Ziggler scores with the perfect dropkick! Zig zag attempt, but Hansen shoves Ziggler off and catches him in a poweslam .... Boston Crab locked on by Hansen but Ziggler battles against it and won't tap .... He finally makes the ropes to break it .... Hansen moves in and continues to punish Ziggler, but Dolph battles back with a superkick right to the knee of Hansen! Hansen drops to one knee and Ziggler catches him in the fame-asser!!!! 1 ... 2 ... Nooooo! Hansen kicks out! Ziggler up top, but Hansen grabs the ref and shoves him into the ropes causing Ziggler to get crotched on the top rope .... Hansen climbs up and hits the superplex off the top!!!! Hansen picks Ziggler up for a power bomb, but Ziggler tries to fight him off with right hands .... Hansen charges for the lariat, but Ziggler gets out of the way and Hansen crashes into the turnbuckle .... School boy! 1 ... 2 ... 3!!!!

Winner and Still Champion, Dolph Ziggler

After the match Hansen is furious and attacks Ziggler from behind .... He finally nails the lariat and takes Ziggler out, but he's not done yet .... Hansen brings the bull rope in the ring and violently whips Ziggler across the back!!!! He wraps the bull rope around Zigglers neck and hangs him over the top rope! Referees pour out of the back and try to break this up but they can't .... Ziggler is gasping for air, and he starts to slip into unconsciousness .... Hansen finally lets Ziggler go and starts swinging the bull rope wildly around the ring .... The referees all scatter .... Hansen holds up the world tv title and let's out a howl as EMT's have come out to attend to the unconscious Ziggler at ringside .... Ziggler does a stretcher job out of the arena
