A highlight package airs of what happened before the show came on the air, including Alex Riley winning a money in the bank match to earn a spot on the SSW roster!!!!
United States Champion Trish Stratus comes out to the ring to a mixed reaction to open the televised part of the show. Trish talks about how she was set to defend the title against Beth Phoenix tonight, but Beth hurt her knee working out of something and she is not here tonight. The fans boo this because they know that Trish and Jazz injured Beth’s knee last week on TV. Trish tells them to stop booing her. Trish says that she knows that Shane has an opponent for her tonight, but it doesn’t matter who it is. It could be AJ Lee, but Trish has beat her before. It could be Madison Rayne, but Trish has beat her before too. Who else is there? Layla El? Please! Eve Torres? PRETENDER!!!! There is no one in SSW that can beat her. Hell . . . there is no woman in the UWF that can beat her.

Kong uses her power to toss Trish around the ring, but then Trish hits a drop kick to the knee that takes Kong down. Trish works on the knee heavily, then goes for the sharpshooter but Kong powers out. Trish charges but gets hit with a big right hand from Kong . . . SPINNING BACK FIST! Kong misses a big splash off the ropes! Trish rolls outside, and she grabs her Women’s title and is leaving. Kong chases her . . . BUT TRISH TURNS AROUND AND NAILS KONG WITH THE TITLE BELT! A camera crew in the back shows Shane McMahon laid out in a pool of his own blood. EMT’S are attending to him and Josh is there asking what happened but is told to stay back. Commercial Break IN THE BACK: Highlights are shown of Alex Riley winning the SSW contract in the non-televised portion of the show. Then we see Josh Matthews and Riley backstage, and Riley is still clutching the contract tightly to his chest. Josh asks him how he feels. Riley talks about all the names that were in the MITB match . . . and then there was the one name that rose above all the rest! The one star that shone brighter than any other . . . and that was ALEX RILEY! He signs the contract and says now it means that he is going to put his name right up there with all the other greats that have come through the doors of this company. Names like Owen Hart . . . IN THE BACK: Shane and the Fortunate Sons are celebrating. Nattie is there, and so are Fatal Attraction dressed in elegant attire. Shane has a bottle of champagne and is pouring it over Dibiase’s head. Dibiase talks about how his moment is finally here and Shane is finally on board. He has been telling Shane from the beginning that it pays to be the Fortunate Sons and now Shane knows. They kick Josh out so they can continue to celebrate. Punk lets go and collapses in exhaustion. Both men lay in the ring for a long time as they are being checked on by referees and medical staff, while the fans are chanting ‘MATCH OF THE YEAR! MATCH OF THE YEAR!’ AJ is helped up, but he shoves the EMT’s away and is determined to stand on his own!!!! Meanwhile they are checking on Punk in the opposite corner . . . and AJ stumbles out to the center of the ring where Punk meets him. They stare each other down . . . AJ OFFERS HIS HAND TO PUNK!!!! Punk reaches out and takes it and both men embrace!!!! AJ raises Punk’s hand, as the crowd is chanting ‘THANK YOU AJ! THANK YOU PUNK!’ We go off the air with Punk and AJ raising each others hands in the ring.
