AJ Styles vs Nikita Koloff : AJ uses his speed and hits some quick strikes to punish Nikita . In the end though the Russian Nightmare lives up to his name . After a leaping choke slam , he turns Styles inside out with the Russian Sickle for the 3 .

Roddy Piper vs Bob Backlund : Piper is very aggressive . Still reeling from Taz screwing him . He bloodies Backlund and then puts on the Sleeper . Taz comes out of the crowd . Piper losses it . Tosses Backlund to the side and goes out and fights with Taz , who Suplexes him through a table . Backlund wins by count out .

Jake The Snake Roberts vs JYD : Jake takes the short cuts . He puts JYD down with a Kneelift and hits the DDT . He covers , but JYD is on the ropes . No JYD comes back . Headbutt . Big Thump ! He covers , but Jake gets a foot on the rope . The two fight it out for another 15 minutes . A blind low blow by Jake and a DDT ends it at the 22 minute mark .

John Cena vs Mil Mascaras: Mil hits a lot of Lucha moves . Cena the classic hard hitting style . Mil tries for the cross body , Cena rolls through , gets Mil up on his shoulders . FU !! 1……2……3 !!!

Suzuki vs Tsurta : Suzuki got here by his impressive run at NJPW . Jumbo came to fight . He hits an exploder and then goes for the running knee . Suzuki side steps and then dropkicks the knee . Hits the Gotch Piledriver and gets the 3 .

Lex Luger vs Bruiser Brody : Lex is not sure what to make of the maniac across from him . Brody with a headbutt and then a diving knee . He goes for the GTS …. Luger shifts his weight . They run into the ref . He’s down . Andre comes out and grabs up Brody and Chokeslams him . Andre takes his leave . The ref comes to . Luger hits a Piledriver on Brody and gets the 3 .

Terry Gordy vs Harley Race : There are no pleasantries exchanged here . This is a fight . Gordy hits a running knee and then goes for the Piledriver . Race back drops out if it . Race late in the match after 3 falling headbutts . Hits a Bulldog for 3 .

Kurt Angle vs Otto Wanz : Otto punishes Angle with a Bearhug . Angle belly to belly yo get out of it and then gets an Ankle Lock to end it .

End night 1

Ive been amped for this tournament to begin, there is some major bragging rights in this

Nobody gets up from the sickle, and AJ is no exception

It doesnt take long to see some shady officiating.....why wouldnt Piper be awarded that match via DQ because of Taz putting him through the table. Backlund gets very lucky here

Jake keeps hitting those DDTs and he will win it all

Cena will be tough as the tournament advances

The new NJPW champion wont be a pushover here

Looks like Andre hasnt forgotten about Brody and Luger seizes the opportunity. I wanna see Brody and Andre in a cage.....lets find out who the baddest MFer is
