The show opens with a brief highlight video package highlighting all the stars appearing on tonight's card!
We then go to the ring where everyone's standing for a moving rendition of the Star Spangled Banner performed by retired USAF Veteran Msgt John Hockenberry!
The pyro goes off and we shoot to LANCE RUSSELL, the host for tonight's event!
LANCE RUSSELL:" Fans, what a stirring rendition of our National Anthem to kick things off and what a night of great NWA action do we have in store for our fans here in the historic Louisville Gardens and all our great NWA fans watching on ppv!
The Road To STARRCADE was a huge success and if tonight is anything like RTS then who knows what will happen tonight!
We have a new territory in the NWA known as North American Championship Wrestling and what better way to introduce the entire NWA fanbase to them than havong them kick off our show tonight!"
NACW Junior Heavyweight Title Gauntlet Match : We open with El Santo and Steve Regal . Santo has Regal reeling early with several Lucha style arm drags and then a flying head scissors take over . Regal bales out . He and Johnny V are talking when Santo flies over the top rope . Regal shoves his manager in the way to take the brunt of the impact . Regal with a Powerbomb against the railing . He rolls Santo back in . Regal with a double Underhook Suplex . He now uses a body vice on Santo . Santo can’t recover and taps out .
Steve Regal vs Jerry Brisico : The two lock up collar and elbow . Jerry puts on a headlock . Regal tries to shove him off , but Jerry has it locked tight . Regal tries to counter with a belly to back , but Jerry rolls through and takes him over . Regal gets to his feet again and this time , gets in the ropes . Off the break , he knees Brisco on the gut and tosses him to the floor . While the ref is admonishing Regal , Johnny V hits Brisco on the back with a chair . Regal goes out after his man . He slams his head on the ring apron and rolls him in . Regal with a Boston Crab in the middle of the ring . Brisco had nowhere to go and wisely taps out .
Steve Regal only has Art Barr left to beat .Barr comes in . He goes for a clothesline and , Regal ducks under . Dropkick by Regal and then nails an inverted atomic drop . From there he goes for a spinning neck breaker , Barr grabs the top rope and pulls himself free and now hits a back elbow and then a bodyslam . Barr goes to the second rope and drives a knee into the side of the head . He pulls Regal up for a pedigree , but Regal drives him back into the corner . Regal backs up calling for a running clothesline , Johnny V from the outside shoves Barr out of the way and Regal hits hard in the corner . Barr with a Powerslam and then hits the Frog Splash!!!! 1…….2……3 !!
Art Barr is your NACW Junior Heavyweight Champion .
Regal sits up in the middle of the ring and glares at Johnny V who walks off with the Love Machine Art Barr and hands him the belt .
RUSSELL:" WOW! Well if NACW wanted to make a big splash in the NWA then the very well just did so! Nothing but action from start to finish and i guess we have to congratulate ART BARR for being crowned the first champ in NACW'S history!
As I stated at the beginning of the broadcast ,Road To Starrcade had some unforgettable moments and the final, winner take all battle between the UWF and PROGRESS was maybe the biggest thing to take place in the NWA all year ! Well, when all the smoke cleared , it was PROGRESS who came out victorious and the UWF is no more !
So tonight PROGRESS has one helluva match scheduled for tonight so let's go to the ring!"
2nd Match: AJ STLES -PROGRESS Heavyweight Champion vs MATT RIDDLE
Riddle quickly takes Styles down, but Styles soon backs him to the corner. Styles elbows Riddle in the jaw, but he misses a corner clothesline. Riddle kicks away at him, but Styles blocks a kick, puts the leg over the rope, and kicks him in the hamstring. Styles takes him down, but Riddle cuts him off. Riddle forearms him back. Styles reverses a whip, but Riddle slingshots over him, kicks him down, and hits a Broton. Riddle connects with a gutwrench suplex before rolling into a second and then a third! Riddle viciously knees Styles in the face and hits a running forearm. Riddle backs up, but Styles intercepts him with an avalanche. Styles then hits a front suplex onto the top rope, but Riddle slides off and crashes to the floor. Styles gets on the apron and hits a running knee to the face. Styles puts Riddle in the ring and gets him to his feet. Riddle fights him off and charges, but Styles hits him with a backbreaker. Styles dumps Riddle out of the ring.
Riddle connect flush with a kick to the face. Riddle kips up and hits an exploder suplex. Riddle goes for a Broton, but Styles gets the knees up. Styles connects with an ushigoroshi for a near fall. Riddle fights back and spikes Styles on his neck with a German Suplex for a near fall. Riddle gets Styles to his feet, but Styles takes him down with a Pele Kick. Riddle avoids a strike and hits a Ripcord Knee. Riddle doesn’t let go of Styles’ wrist and pulls him back up to his feet. Styles avoids a short-arm kick and hits a pumphandle gutbuster!
Styles goes for a Phenomenal Forearm, but Riddle kicks the feet out! Styles crashes and burns at ringside. Riddle knocks Styles back and hits a springboard twisting moonsault! Riddle goes to the top rope for a Floating Bro, but Styles counters into a Calf Crusher! Styles cinches it in, and Riddle screams in pain! Riddle scratches and claws to the bottom rope to break it.
Riddle kicks Styles away and viciously knees him down. Riddle starts to stalk Styles. Styles counters a stunner into a SICK burning hammer! Styles hits the Styles Clash for the victory to retain the Progress Heavyweight title.
RUSSELL:" Well Matt Riddle put up one heck of a fight but AJ Styles showed just why he is on top of the mountain in PROGRESS !
Now up next we have our first world title match as TV Champion- CHRIS ADAMS w/ Gary HART finally has to face his toughest challenger yet and the man that has been chasing him for quite some time- the WWF TV champion- TAZ!"
3rd Match- NWA TV TITLE MATCH- CHRIS ADAMS(c) w/ Gary Hart vs TAZ!
NWA World Television Title Gentleman Chris Adams ( w/ Gary Hart ) vs Taz : The two waste no time . They lock up collar and elbow . Taz slips to one side , side Tazplex !!! Adams staggers up . Taz gets off a Captured Suplex . Adams staggers up again , angry man clothesline from Taz !!! Taz covers 1……2……Hart puts Adams foot on the ropes . Taz turns to yell at Hart and Adams knees him in the back , knocking him to the floor . Adams goes out after hjm . Adams dropkicks Taz and knocks him backward into the ring post ! Adams now puts his foot right on Taz’s neck while he’s leaning up against the ring post . The ref orders Adams to quit . Adams tells him to go ahead and DQ him , he’s gonna punish this bloody little bastard . The ref says , “ no way .” Adams slams Taz’s head on the ring apron . Adams pulls Taz up on the ring apron ……. GORDBUSTER ON THE RING APRON BY ADAMS !!! He goes out after Taz again . He rolls him in . Taz staggers to his feet and Adams clotheslines him !!!! He makes a cocky cover ….1……..2…….Noooooo !!! Taz kicks out !!!
Adams now yells at Taz , telling him , “do you think you’re only one that can do a bloody Suplex ??!” Adams with a snap Suplex !!!! Adams pulls him up , spins him around , release German by Adams !!! Adams now goes for the Tazmission ! Taz puts his hand in between his face and Adams’s arm to shield himself . Taz then rolls through and has Adams in an Ankle Lock !!!’ Adams gets to the ropes for the break . Off the break Adams hits a low blow right in front of the ref . The ref shakes his head . Adams hits Taz with a Ridge Hand Chop and then goes for the Superkick ….. Taz moves and Adams nails Hart who made his way up on the ring apron !! Adams is stunned !!! Taz German Suplex with a Bridge !!! Adams shoulders are down , 1………2…….3!
Taz is the new NWA World Television Champion!
RUSSELL:" Boy howdy , that was one heck of a match and Taz just proved to Hart, the fans and more importantly to Chris Adams that he could back up everything he has said leading up o this match ! Taz is your new world tv champ and after that performance , i don;t know if anyone can stop him!
Now up next is going to be a match that will truly test the resole of these two men! They became allies, some would even say friends, when they had a common enemy but one man showed his true colors by turning his back on his so called friend and these two have been going at each other ever since!
Will tonight finally end this issue between the two or will it escalate it? It;s time to find out!"
4th Match- WWF Country Whipping Match- TULLY BLANCHARD vs TOMMY RICH
WWF Country Whippin Match Tommy Rich vs Tully Blanchard ; Tully comes out without Bobby Heenan or so we think . Tully ties himself in . Heenan comes out and turns and motions toward the back . Andre comes out with Rich draped over his shoulder . He slams him in the ring . Tully takes the house mic .
Tully : Tommy , we don’t have to do this . Just tell the ref , you quit right now and leave WWF . I mean hell , NACW is opening the could use a second rate guy .
Rich slowly gets to his feet , holding his ribs . He takes the strap out of referee Larry Hazard’s hands and ties himself .
Tully : Oh Tommy , you asked for it .
Andre chokeslams him . Larry points to Heenan and Andre and sends them to the back . Tully is yelling at Larry and then shoves him ! Hazard shoved back and Tully falls on his ass . Tully gets back up laughing . He signals to the crowd it’s already over . He struts around the ring . He hits one turnbuckle . he hits two turnbuckles . He hits 3 . He goes for a fourth , but Tommy stands up , pulls him to the center of the ring and decks him . Tommy rolls the strap up his hands and rains down punches on the forehead of Tully . Tully is bleeding badly from the forehead . Tommy touches one turnbuckle . He touches the second . He goes for 3 , Tully with a low blow . Tully now beats Rich unmercifully with the strap . His back is bloody !
Tully chokes Rich with the strap and then pounds on his forehead . Rich is busted open . Tully now goes around he touches one turnbuckle . He touches two . He touches 3 . Rich is behind him the whole time touching turnbuckles as well . They get to the fourth turnbuckle and they Duke it out . Tully goes for a clothesline and Rich back body drops him . Tully hits the fourth turnbuckle !! Rich is in shock of the cheap victory .
RUSSELL:" whoah boy...that dang Bobby Heenan always has a plan and with Andre the Giant involved, poor Tommy Rich never stood a chance! Was this Rich's last stand? It sure looked like it but if i know anything about Tommy Rich ,it is that he will not let this go!
Unfortunately we were informed not too long ago that due to travel issues, the BRITISH BULLDOGS, DEVIL'S DUO match has been postponed until a later date!
Now up next is going to be one heck of a battle as the NWA National Heavyweight Champion- WALTER defends against the self proclaimed bad guy- RAZOR RAMON!
5th Match_ National Heavyweight Title- wALTER(C) vs RAZOR RAMON
Both men meet in the center of the ring and have a tense stare down until RAZOR does his typical flicking of his tooth pic in the champs face!
Walter no sells it for a few seconds until he starts clubbing RAZOR with some stiff forearm uppercuts which rattle the bad guy!
RAMON spends the next several minutes getting a lesson on disrespecting a man like Walter! WALTER goes for a few pin fall attempts during this match but RAZOR kicks out of each one...barely!
A backdrop attempt by Walter is thwarted as RAMON leapfrogs him and as Walter rises up and turns, RAMON clotheslines him over the top rope!
These two then spend time on the arena floor battling and barely breaking the 10 count each time!
A reverse whip into the guard rail by the champ gives Walter the advantage as he tosses RAZOR back in and follows! But RAXZOR was ready and catches the champ with some vicious kicks as he enters the ring!
A stunned champ is then picked up and hit with a fall away slam!
RAZORV then picks Walter up and hits the Razors Edge! The ref makes the three count and we have a NEEEEEW NATIONAL HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION- RAZOR RAMON!
LANCE:" That was as hard a hitting match as ive ever seen and in the end RAZOR RAMON showed that Walter is indeed more man than machine and is the new National champion!
Now up next is our only tag team match of the evening and it promises to be a doozy!"
6TH Match: NWA World Tag Team Title -THE FABULOUS FREEDORDS (C) vs CRUSHER BLACKWELL/KEN PATERA
NWA World Tag Team Champion The Fabulous Freebirds vs Ken Patera & Jerry Blackwell : All four men meet in the center of the ring . There is a lot talking and head shaking and then it’s like someone pulled the trigger on a start gun . All four exchange punches . Nobody is worse for the wear . The action quickly spills outside and Hayes introduces Blackwell to the ring post . Blackwell is down and busted open . Terry kicks Patera in the face and rolls him in the ring . Terry hits a Piledriver on Patera and stands over him yelling at him . Telling him he’s nothing . Terry finally covers 1……….2……..Thr……… Noooooo ! Patera kicks out . Gordy is in shock !! He pulls Patera up for a second Piledriver, but Patera backdrops out of it !!! Hayes comes in and eats a big clothesline from Patera . Gordy big boots Patera back into the corner and now tags off to Hayes . Hayes chops Patera in the corner . He puts hits a Bulldog and tags off to Gordy . Gordy with a big shoulder tackle ! He gets the tag to Hayes .
Hayes comes in , vertical Suplex . He stomps away on the forehead Patera . Now Patera is busted open . Hayes clamps down on a chinlock . Patera somehow powers his way off the mat . He turns and gets off a side walk slam . He stumbles to the corner , where a bloody Blackwell . Hayes attacks Blackwell , pounding on the cut and then whips him into the corner . Hayes tags in Gordy . Gordy comes in and Blackwell surprises him with a headbutt and then a side belly to belly !!!! Blackwell kicks Gordy in the ribs and then picks him up and and hits a running squash in the corner . He now hits a Powerslam !! He covers 1.,……2…….Gordy kicks out . Gordy is now coughing up blood . Blackwell tags in Patera . Patera locks in the Full Nelson !!! Gordy frantically flails around the ring trying to break the vice grip style hold . He gets close enough to his corner . Hayes thumbs Patera in the eye !!! Hayes with a clothesline and then pulls Patera up . He goes to whip Patera into the corner . Patera reverses and whips Hayes into their corner . Patera now plays it smart . He argues with the ref . While the ref is arguing . Blackwell in the corner putting the boots to Hayes . Gordy tries to come in and the ref holds him back . Blackwell and Patera start just potatoing Hayes on the forehead followed by a Blackwell headbutt . Now Hayes is busted open . Gordy pushes past the referee . All four men are mixing it up . Gordy goes for a Piledriver on Patera , but grabs his ribs !!! Patera tosses him out of the ring . Blackwell has Hayes in a Bearhug and Patera runs across the ring with a running clothesline . Their version of a Hart Attack ! Blackwell goes up top while Patera kicks Gordy off the ring apron !!! Big Splash by Blackwell !!! 1……2….3 !!!
WINNERS AND NEW NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS- KENPATERA and CRUSHER BLACKWELL
LANCEl: FANS that was everything we expected it to be an more ! Now we see how the new champs being the hunted instead of the hunters!
Up next we get to see if CHRIS JERICHO can prove the so called experts wrong again and vanquish yet another challenger!"
Jericho had the upper hand early, but White cut him off and slammed both of his legs into the ring apron several times. White continued to work over Jerichos legs for a long period of time. Jericho finally fired back and cut White off with a dragon screw. Jericho caught White with a dropkick to the leg. He went to go up top, but White tripped him and slammed his knee into the ringpost.
White got up on the apron, but Jericho caught him with a dragon screw. Jericho went up top and hit a missle dropkick to the floor! The fans fired up with both men down on the outside. Jericho got up and rolled White into the ring. White avoided multiple Judas Effect attempts. He eventually sent Jericho down to the mat and followed up with a deadlift German. White set up for the Kiwi Crusher, but Jericho turned it into a Walls of Jericho. White gets the bottom.rope to force a break. Jericho slid around White and hit an inverted dragon screw. He then hit White with a Lionsault. Jericho bounced off the ropes for a Slingblade, but White caught him and hit a big uranagi and both men were down.
White lifted Jericho up and dumped him with a sleeper suplex. White set up for a Blade Runner, but instead hit an inverted dragon screw. White got the Cloverleaf Hold and the fans tried to rally behind Jericho. White hit a chop block a short time later. Jericho blocked a sleeper suplex and nailed White with a big slap to the face. Jericho hit a German a short time later for a nearfall and the fans fired up with claps. Jericho finally hit a Judas Effect for the first time in the match. Juice Robinson got up on the apron and Jericho knocked him to the floor.
Jericho went up top for the missle dropkick, but White caught him and eventually got the TTO. Jericho struggled for a long period of time before rolling into the ropes to break the hold. Jericho hit a dragon screw to surprise White. White fired back and hit a dragon screw of his own. Jericho and White went back and forth. White went for a TTO, but Jericho blocked it and hit an inverted dragon screw. Both men crawled around and grabbed at each other’s legs. Both men got tangled up and agreed to back off. White backed off and then crawled back to Jericho. They began trading blows from their knees.
White got the upper hand and went after Jerichos knee once again. He hit a big dragon screw and Jericho moaned in pain on the mat. The fans tried to clap in support of Jericho The 20 minute mark came and White wiped out Jericho with a big running forearm in the corner and he went down to the mat. White mocked Jericho as he staggered to get to his feet and Jericho surprised him with a big lariat and both men were down. Jericho hit a dragon screw in the corner a short time later as the 25 minute mark came and went. White tried to surprise Jericho with a Blade Runner, but he countered it into a Slingblade. Jericho hit another Slingblade for a two count. Jericho went up top and hit a crossbody for 2!
Jericho went up top again and the fans fired up big time. Jericho hit a missle dropkick to White’s legs. Jericho smiled as the fans fired up. Jericho applied the WallsofJericho. He dragged White away from the ropes and fully applied it. Juice got up on the apron and White began tapping out furiously unseen by the ref. Jericho let go of the hold and hit a Judas Effect on Juice. He went for the Walls of Jericho again, but White rolled him up for a two count.
White got a backslide and put his feet on the ropes, 1......2...... but Jericho managed to kick out. They went back and forth near the ropes and White pulled Jericho into the Blade Runner for the win. AND NEWWWWW NWA SUPER JUNIORS WORLD CHAMPION........ JAY WHITE!!!!
RUSSELL:" DEAR GOD!That had to be match of the night ! JERICHO'S luck ran out and exactly where he goes from here is anybodys guess! This has not been a great night for our world champions but if anyone can change that it has to be our world heavyweight champion so lets go to our main event!"
MAIN EVENT- NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE
MACHO MAN RANDY SAVAGE(c) vs SETH ROLLINS
Rollins was aggressive early on. He attacked Savage outside the ring and tossed him into the ring post. The bell didn’t even ring yet as Seth continues his onslaught as Savage tries to get free of his robe attire.
The bell rang as they entered the ring and Rollins hitting a Falcon Arrow. Rollins had Savage grounded in the ring with a chinlock. Rollins tossed Savage to the floor where Savage tried to fight back with a back body drop over the barricade that sent Rollins crashing to the floor. Savage ran across the announce table for an attack, but Rollins moved and Savage went ribs first across the barricade. Back in the ring, Rollins with a springboard knee and kick to the head gets two. The crowd buzzes as we see Santa Claus coming to ringside handing out candy to the kids at ringside.
Rollins was still in control with two forearm smashes in the corner. Savage came back with a huge clothesline. Savage got a rollup for two and then a neckbreaker gets two as well. Rollins with a Buckle Bomb and then he missed a Frog Splash. Savage with a cradle gets two. Rollins avoided the piledriver.
Rollins was pounding Savage in the corner and then got in an eye poke when the ref was unable to see him. Savage hit a suicide dive to take out Rollins on the floor. With Rollins on the floor, Savage went up top and hit a flying axe handle attack to take him out. Back in the ring, Savage bidyslams Rollins then scales up the turnbuckles...... FLYING ELBOW DROP TO ROLLINS!!!! 1.......2...... Santa Claus puts Rollins foot on the bottom rope!
Savage hops up staring at Santa. Savage reaches over the ropes and pulls Santa up to the ring apron where we see Santa's beard fall off, revealing Bobby Heenan! The crowd wants Savage to nail Heenan but before he has the chance, out comes Andre The Giant to save Heenan. Andre begins walking up the ring steps to get in the ring but before he can enter Hulk Hogan comes out and nails Andre! Hogan and Andre fight to the backstage area.
Savage slides in the ring headfirst right into a curb stomp from Rollins! Seth pulls Savage up...... PEDIGREE! 1......2.......3!!! SETH ROLLINS IS THE NEWWWWW NWA WORLD CHAMPION!!!! Rollins is handed the NWA title and he celebrates to a mixed chorus of cheers and boos as show fades to black.
LANCE RUSSELL:" Now once again Bobby Heenan causes more chaos and after all is said and done, Randy Savage is the one that payed he price as Seth Rollins wins the top prize in all of wrestling! Unbelievable night of action as every single wrld champion lost their titles tonight ! Heading into 2024 the NWA is reeling from what happened here tonight!
