AWA TV # 4 Main Event Friday Night .
We see a giant AWA Logo flash across the screen and see a very dapper Freddy Miller dressed in a tux standing in the middle of the ring .
Freddy Miller : Hello and welcome to the Maple Leafs Gardens . I’m Freddy Miller and we are on the eve of the Royal Rumble at the Skydome tomorrow night here is Toronto . Tonight though we have a special treat for you . Main Event Friday Night . Four men will compete for the WGN Television Championship and hear to tell you more , your host Gordon Solie and his partner for the evening from the WWF and the first NWA National Heavyweight Champion Randy Savage .
Gordon : Thank you Freddy Miller , we are sold out 13, 998 here at the Maple Leafs Garden in Toronto and with me is as Freddy said the NWA National Heavyweight Champion Randy Savage . First off sir , congratulations and thank you for joining us tonight .
Savage : Gordon Solie , yeah ! The pleasure is all mine . Macho Madness is sweeping the nation right now, yeah ! Tonight though is all about the WGN Television Championship .
Gordon : Yessir . 4 men compete tonight and before the end we will have a WGN Television Champion in the opening round we have a good one . A man you’re very familiar with Bob Backlund taking on the Olympic Gold Medalist, Kurt Angle .
Savage : Gordon Solie , Kurt Angle is one of the best pure wrestlers alive . If not the best , but Bob Backlund , brother as I found out last week is no push over , tough as nails , stronger than a country ox and a great amateur background that can match Kurt .
Gordon : Our next match will feature Tully Blanchard taking on Bret Hart .
Savage : Bret Hart knows 180, 000 ways to beat a man up , but Tully Blanchard is a crafty wrestler with more than a few tricks up his sleeve and very well rounded . Like myself was born into this . So is Bret . This is a toss up Gordon Solie , yeah .
Also tonight two exciting tag team match ups . The High Flyers taking on Billy Robinson’s Moondogs and the AWA Tag Team Title are in the line as the Rock N Roll Express defend their tag team titles against Baron Von Rashke and Ivan Koloff .
Savage : Gordon Solie when we come back though we got a contract signing Tommy “ Wildfire “ Rich one of my favorites and The Game HHH will sign a contract for tomorrow night . They are gonna get it on for the AWA Heavyweight Title at the Rumble . Dig it !!!

Freddy Miller is in the ring . There is a table two chairs . Miller has a podium at the end of the table . On one side sits Tommy Rich and the other HHH .
Freddy Miller : Fans tomorrow night live here on WGN we will be hosting the Royal Rumble . The winner of the Royal Rumble will be the new NWA World Television Champion . Also tomorrow night is a ladder match which the winner of that will be named the World Super Junior Heavyweight Champion . The UWF will crown their Heavyweight Champion and we hear at the AWA will crown ours .
The participants in that match are joining me now for a contract signing . First The Game HHH !
Hunter takes the mic .
HHH : Tommy , you’ve got to be the luckiest son of a bitch alive . You basically got here by DQ’s and surviving. Tomorrow night though there is no surviving . You are looking at one of the most lethal men in this business . I will end you tomorrow night and become the AWA Heavyweight Champion because I am the Game and I am that damn good !!!
Signs the contract .
Freddy Miller and now Tommy “ Wildfire “ Rich !!
Rich : Ya know you got it right HHH . Yeah I survived . Just like Hank Jr says country boy can survive and I’ve done it all my life . You sit there with you big muscles and your tough talkin bad attitude. Well , brother I fought bigger and badder than you . I’ve stared down the likes of men like Stan Hansen and crazy son of a bitches like Kamala my whole career . I had a grizzly bear looking right at me one day hunting in Tennessee . I wasn’t afraid then and I’m damn sure ain’t afraid now . Maybe you should be worried why the call me wile fire !
Tommy signs and hands the contract back to Freddy .
HHH leaps over the table , but finds Rich is more than game for a fight . The two fight all the way up the ramp way to edge of the stage . Security comes out and pulls them apart several times .
Savage : Oh Yeah ! That’s what I like to see hard hitting action !!!
Gordon : We have to get order restored . We’ll be back .

WGN Television Title Tourney Kurt Angle vs Bob Backlund : Lots of chain wrestling here . Both men counter each others moves . Kurt has Bob in a cross arm breaker , but Backlund shows off that incredible strength and deadlifts Kurt sits him on top of the turnbuckles and gets off a Superplex for 2 . Backlund goes for the Crossface Chicken Wing , but Kurt now counters out , goes behind and gets off a release German for 2 . The end comes at the 21 minute mark , when Kurt has the ankle lock and Backlund rolls over his back , reaches up and is able to secure Kurt in a Small Package for 3 .
Savage : Gordon , what did I tell ya .
Gordon : Indeed you did sir . We’ll be back with our second match .

WGN Television Title Tourney Bret Hart vs Tully Blanchard: Tully comes out with Babydoll . Bret doesn’t seem to even concern himself with her . He punishes Tully until when in the corner , Tully grabs the trunks and hurls him out to the floor . Now Babydoll gets in Bret’s face , yelling and screaming and even shoving him . It’s enough of a distraction that Tully is able to attack Bret from behind and bang his head off the ring post . From there Tully rolls Bret back on and hits his Sling Shot Suplex . He covers and gets the very unpopular 3 .
Savage : Tully Blanchard and Bob Backlund in the finals !!! Yeah !
Gordon : Yessir , but when we come back the first of two exciting tag team matches .

The Moondogs ( w/ Billy Robinson) vs The Highflyers : This doesn’t even get started . The Moondogs attack Gagne and Brunzell from behind and beat them down with chairs under the guidance of Billy Robinson. They are laying there a bloody mess , Verne comes out and goes after Billy , but gets nowhere as Spot waffles him in the face with a chair . Now Billy grabs a chair from Rex puts around Verne’s ankle and then does kind of a Figure Four while the Moondogs stomp on the chair . Bruiser , Crusher and Rick Martel rush out of the back and give chase .
Savage : Gordon , I heard a pop from up here .
Gordon : Yessir , I did to Randy . Let’s let the EMT’s do their job . We’ll be back .

AWA Tag Team Titles: The Rock N Roll Express vs Ivan Koloff & Baron Von Rashke : The team of Koloff and BVR are working over Ricky in the corner . BVR just about has him submitted with the Claw , but Ricky gets to the ropes . Koloff chokes him from behind , whips him off the ropes for the Russian Sickle , but Ricky slides under and gets the hot tag to Robert . Robert with a body slam on Koloff . He backdrops a charging BVR out of the ring and then he and Ricky with a Double Dropkick on Ivan for the 3 !!!
Savage : All the Rock N Roll Express do is win .
Gordon : For sure , when we come back we will crown a new WGN Television Champion

WGN Television Championship Tully Blanchard ( w/ Babydoll) vs Bob Backlund : Backlund in the early going puts on side headlock that Tully can’t seem to solve . Tully backs Bob into the ropes and knees him in the gut off the break and then gets off a Belly to Back Suplex . Tully works a spinning toe hold , which Bob pushes out of and slams Tully into the turnbuckles! Bob out if that move gets a school boy roll up for two . Tully with a desperation clothesline . From there he goes for his Slingshot Suplex , but Bob counters with a Crossbody for two as Babydoll puts Tully’s foot on the ropes . Backlund pulls Tully up , and gets off an Atomic Drop . Tully staggers up into the Crossface Chicken Wing . Babydoll again gets Tully to the ropes , Bob is furious . He yells at the ref , Tully knees Bob in the back from behind and then the Slingshot Suplex for 3 .
Savage : You may not like it , but Tully gets the job done .
Gordon : We have a new WGN Television Champion . Join us right back here tomorrow night for the Royal Rumble. Will you be there Mr . Savage ?
Randy : Damn right Gordon Oooooo Yeaaaahhhhhh !!!
