WCW Monday Nitro #12

   











The show opens up and we see The Lucha Brothers, Pentagon and Fenix, come out of their dressing room and walk through the backstage area towards the ring when out of nowhere they are attacked from behind. In the midst of the attack, the camera man gets knocked to the floor and all we can see is the feet of the men, stomping away at Fenix and Pentagon. Then we see the feet walking away and getting into a limo that drives away!







Jim Ross: "Wrestling fans we arent even seconds into this broadcast and these random attacks on the WCW talent happens again. I couldnt make out who that was, but I could tell there was at least three to four of them! But who the Hell are they?"


Before Ross can continue, out comes the WCW General Manager, Eric Bischoff......





Eric Bischoff: "For the past several weeks these cowardly attacks on WCW have taken place. And quite honestly...... I'm tired of it! We dont know who we are dealing with here.... or even how many of them there is! Is it the boys from Windy City? Or do we have someone attacking from within? I dont know! What I do know is this..... its went on for far too long! So to whoever you are..... I personally challenge you to show up here next week and show your faces! Because if it's a war your looking for..... then that's exactly what your going to get! And I can promise......"


Zelina Vega once again approaches Bischoff......





Zelina Vega: "Mr. Bischoff, if I may....."


Eric Bischoff: "ZELINA..... PLEASE!!! I've told you many times, I'm aware you won the Ms. WCW contest. Good for you. But I honestly just do not have the time right now!"


Bischoff walks away, leaving Zelina watching on once again.


Zelina Vega: "You know Jim Ross..... for three straight weeks I have been pushed aside and ignored by that man. I will not be ignored any longer! It's time for me to bring wrestling's best secret to WCW!"


Jim Ross: "Fans, we are off to a chaotic start here on Nitro! And there's already so many unanswered questions. Who are these people attacking WCW? And now, what does Zelina mean about wrestlings best kept secret coming to WCW? Fans, I do know one thing..... its time to get you up to the ring for our opening contest."





As the cameras pan to the ring we hear......




And out comes Stone Cold!!


Steve Austin: "Hold the damn phone there Jim Ross..... we ain't going to any match.....not until I get something off my chest! Ya see, I dont give a rat's ass who's in the back jumping who. What I do care about is this little sumbitch running around saying he wants a title shot at this WCW title. Then the little bastard jumps me from behind and damn near stomps my heart out. So Cameron Grimes..... if ya want a piece of Stone Cold....bring your ass out here!"



This brings out The Freebirds.... Michael Hayes, Terry Gordy, & Cameron Grimes!




Cameron Grimes: "Well looky who it is..... its Stone Cold Steve Austin! I'm surprised to see you out here so soon. I mean I did damn near stomp you through that mat last week! Maybe I didnt get you as good as I wanted to. So yea, theres gonna be a match tonight. But it's not gonna be me and you for that title. Tonight, me, Bam Bam, and Purely Sexy are just gonna come to that ring and kick your redneck ass! Then I'm moving on to the 1 year anniversary show where I will win the Bunkhouse match. Then to put the icing on the cake, right here next week I'm gonna take that WCW Heavyweight title!"





Austin has heard enough and flips the Birds off! The Freebirds separate and circle the ring, stalking Austin. They take their time as Austin keeps turning around waiting for them to strike. The Birds all come up on the ring apron and look to use the numbers game until.......



OUT COMES THE APA!!!!





Simmons and Bradshaw storm the ring and have Stone Colds back, as the Birds drop down off the apron, not liking their odds. As we have a standoff! Then once again, out comes Eric Bischoff......


Eric Bischoff: "ENOUGH!!! We havent been on the air 15 minutes and already have lost control of this program. So heres the deal..... you guys want to kill each other? Fine!! You will do it tonight in the Main Event! As it's going to be The Freebirds against Steve Austin.....and The APA in a six man tag match!!"


The Freebirds throw a fit around ringside, not liking Bischoffs announcement as we go to commercial.



***COMMERCIAL BREAK***




Match One: The Riot Squad (Ruby Riott & Liv Morgan) vs Tay Conti & Anna Jay

Good back and forth action in this one as The Riott Squad are super over with everyone in the venue except Conti & Jay, who have went on record saying they are the future of the Womens division. This match goes around 15 minutes when Conti hits Ruby with the Tayogoshi (Utsuri goshi to swinging side slam) to get the victory. As Conto and Jay celebrate, the live crowd is in shock with that out come.





Gene Okerlund: "ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Fans, if you placed your bets in Vegas for Tay Conti and Anna Jay to win that match, welcome to the Millionaires club! Speaking of Vegas and big bets, joining me now is the challenger to Askuas IWA Womens world title at the one year Anniversary show..... Britt Baker!"





Britt Baker: "Gene Okerlund, that will be the last time you will be able to refer to Askua as the world champion! Because next weekend it all comes to an end for her! The past year, I have proven why I am the face of the IWA Womens division. And much like Tay Conti and Anna Jay, I'm tired of people like Asuka getting all the headlines, when it's obvious that it's me who is by far.... the best wrestler in the world today! Asuka.... listen closely.... there is no way in hell that I will ever say I Quit next week! You say I'm not ready for Asuka? I say that your not ready for the world of pain I'm about to open up on you to become the IWA Womens world champion! It's time for the new era. It's time for D.... M.....D!"

Match Two: The Blue Meanie vs Big Van Vader

Nothing to see here.... other than Vader just kicking Meanies ass all over the ring before putting him away with a powerbomb! As the replay is shown, Gene Okerlund joins Vader and Teddy Long at ringside......




Gene Okerlund: "Teddy Long, if I may! It certainly looks like you have this man in the best shape of his career. He is undefeated in WCW and now just days away..... will go onto the one year Anniversary show and compete in the Bunkhouse match!"




. Teddy Long: "Lemme Hollar at ya player! What your looking at is most destructive force in all of the IWA. And I have big plans for this man..... you better believe that! And winning that Bunkhouse match is just the beginning! Nobody can defeat this man! Not Bruiser Brody, not Abdullah the Butcher! And most importantly, definitely not Hulk Hogan! And very soon..... the entire world will know what time it is..... its Vader Time!!"

Match Three: Hiroshi Hase vs Owen Hart for the WCW TV Title

The Horsemen, Ric Flair, Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson accompany Owen to the match. Once the bell rings, Owen underestimates Hase and kicks him in the midsection and tries the Sharpshooter early but Hase sets out of it and iut wrestles Owen on the mat which serves to piss off Owen as he fights back with the Belly to Belly Suplex for two. He delivers a backbreaker and grabs a camel clutch. Hase fights up to his feet and falls back on top of Owen to break up the hold. Boston crab, but Owen escapes and catches Hase with the ENZIGURI KICK! Stalling suplex gets two. Next, Hase explodes on Owen with a nasty back suplex. Cover, 1.....2.....NO! He tries a third, but Owen flips out and delivers a tombstone for 1.....2.....NO! Owen drills Hase with a second tombstone and comes off the top with a flying moonsault, but Hase brings up the knees! Hase applies the Octopus Hold. Owen falls into the ropes to get the break. Rolling Tumbleweed by Owen! That gets two. As Hase stands up all dizzy, Owen catches him with a enzuigiri kick for the 1-2-3!





Gene Okerlund: "Yet another impressive victory for the newest Horsemen, Owen Hart! Ric Flair, you have to like seeing that. But what the wrestling World is talking about..... the big one..... coming up this weekend at the IWA Anniversary show where you will face Stan Hansen and Hulk Hogan for the IWA World title! A match that you snuck into through the backdoor. And Stan Hansen isnt too happy about it."





Ric Flair: "Ohhhh Stan Hansen is upset! Is that suppose to worry me? If you want to discuss being upset, why dont we talk about the way Hansen tried to steal my spotlight after I made Hogan submit in War Games! So Hansen..... my advice to you is keep your big redneck ass out of my business! And as far as you Hogan.....now what have we here?"


Davey Boy Smith comes into the interview area!




Davey Boy Smith: "Owen....what are you doing? Ive tried texting you. Your not returning my phone calls..... what are you doing running with these guys? This isnt like you. Your a Hart! Not a Horsemen! These guys could care less about you.....they just need you to run interference for them!"


Before Owen can respond, Arn Anderson steps up to Davey.....




Arn Anderson: "Let's make one thing perfectly clear here Bulldog. Your barking up the wrong tree here. We know all about you. Your a great wrestler in your own right. And we know the history between you and Owen. And that's the only reason we arent dropping you on your head right now. So we are going to let this one slide..... but let it be known..... you only get one free pass when it comes to the Horsemen!"


Ric Flair: "Kind of convenient isnt it? Just a few minutes ago we seen Pentagon and Fenix attacked backstage..... and now you show your face out here? Bischoff.....you wanna know who's responsible for the attacks..... heres your man!"


Owen looks on confused at Flairs accusation then looks at Bulldog as the Horsemen take their leave. Okerlund asks Bulldog if he was backstage earlier then Davey walks away without saying a word.

Match Four: Mickie James vs Lacey Evan's w/Raquel Gonzalez for the WCW Womens title

Mickie won this title shot after defeating Gonzalez by DQ last week and she doesnt waste the opportunity by quickly attacking Lacey and doing her best to stay out of Gonzalez reach. The champ is reeling!! Mickie hits the DDT!!! 1.....2......Raquel pulls Mickie out of the ring and clotheslines her down. The ref calls for the bell, disqualifying Evan's.

Main Event: Steve Austin and The APA vs The Freebirds

The Birds make their way to the ring and to say they are not well liked here is an understatement. Then the APA stirm the ring and the fight is on! But the Birds have the numbers advantage. Until...... GLASS BREAKS..... and out comes Stone Cold!

The ref never has a chance here in maintaining order. This is a fight dammitt! After several minutes The APA fight with Hayes and Gordy up through the crowd. This leaving Cameron Grimes in the ring with Steve Austin..... who rocks Grimes with a huge STUNNER!! 1.....2....3!!! Austin celebrates the match with a few Steveweisers as Jim Ross wonders how this will effect Grimes leading into next weeks title shot on Nitro as show fades to black
