WCW Monday Nitro #22

     



The show opens up and the cameras pan the live crowd and we instantly hear......





And the WCW Heavyweight champion makes his way to the ring and grabs the housemic......





   Steve Austin: "I'm gonna make this real short and sweet cause I'm pissed off and not much in a talking mood! Ya see last week I came out here to talk about who would be next to challenge me for this WCW Heavyweight title. Then I found out the hard way as that big Bastard, Vader, damn near crushed my ribs in! Well lemme tell you something you big sumbitch.... if you wanted my attention, you damned sure got it. And as far as I'm concerned,  it's open season on big fat bastards who wear goofy looking masks around the WCW! And you can bet your ass I'm gonna stomp a mudhole in your sorry ass and walk it dry. And that's the Bottom Line.... CAUSE STONE COLD SAID SO!"

  Jim Ross: "Welcome back wrestling fans! And do we have a show for you here tonight! We already have a pissed off Rattlesnake hunting the building looking for Big Van Vader. But how about this for a Main Event.....the IWA Womens World title will be on the line in a triple threat match as Asuka defends against Becky Lynch and Britt Baker! Michael..... it doesn't get much bigger than that!"      




  Michael Hayes: "The only thing that would make it better would be if me and my big brother,  Bam Bam was on the show. But as usual, there ain't a team in the IWA that can take that walk down Badstreet, Jack!"      

  Jim Ross: "Fans, while Michael continues to boast, it's time for our opening contest of the night!"             




  Match One: Hangman Page vs Cameron Grimes          

Page sent Grimes into the turnbuckle repeatedly followed by a fallaway slam and a suplex. Grimes got in some forearms, but Page came back with a boot to the face. Page with a senton splash for a two count. Page left the ring and Grimes hit a sliding kick to take control. Page sent Grimes over the top. Grimes to the apron and Page jumped off the turnbuckle with a punch on Grimes. Page hit a cross body block over the top on the floor. Grimes sent Page into the ring post, the referee checked on Grimes.  Back in the ring, Grimes with an armbar takedown leading to Grimes working on the left arm with a knee drop. Grimes with a chinlock, Page came back with punches and a spinebuster. Page with an Exploder Suplex for a two count. They exchanged strikes on the ring apron with Grimes running right into a suplex on the apron. Page went up top, Grimes slipped jumping to the turnbuckle, went back up and hit a superplex. Grimes with an armbar on the left arm since Page was selling the arm with Page getting to the ropes. Grimes went for a springboard attack with Page hitting a clothesline. Grimes got the ringbell, the referee took it away and then Grimes hit Page with the double stomp, 1......2.......NO! Grimes missed a top rope elbow when Page moved. Page hit the Buckshot Lariat for the pinfall win! As the replay is beingbshown, Hangman grabs the housemic......





  Hangman Page: "Not too long ago Eric Bischoff went out of his way to sign me to a WCW contract. And since that time, I guess I have pissed in the Inner Circles cheerios a time or two! Chris Jericho.....you have jumped me twice! And the last time cost me the WCW TV Title.  So with that being said..... Eric Bischoff, I know your listening...... there's a draft coming up this weekend. I'm begging you..... please draft Chris Jericho here to WCW so I can personally kick his ass!"       


Hangman takes his leave as a groggy, Cameron Grimes makes his way to his feet.


Michael Hayes: "I'll be right back Jim Ross.....the Freebirds have some business to attend to!"         


Hayes leaves the broadcast booth and heads to the ring as Terry Gordy joins them in the ring.


Michael Hayes: "Man what is it with you Grimes? Everytime we turn around, your getting your shoulders to the mat. First Steve Austin kicks your ass all over WCW. Then your losing to those Mexican jumping beans, The Lucha Bros! Then to make it worse..... you lose to Hangman Page! This ain't how The Freebirds work man! There's only one thing left to do......Bam Bam!"          


And on that cue Gordy clothesline Grimes down then Gordy and Hayes put the boots to Grimes. Hayes gets a steel chair. Gordy beats the piss out of Grimes. Hayes climbs the turnbuckles as Gordy sets Grimes up......SPIKED PILEDRIVER TO THE CHAIR!  Several security members rush to Grimes aid as the Freebirds leave the ring area.

  Match Two: Tenille Dashwood vs Lacey Evans for the WCW Womens title        


Evans has her "Nasty 101 Starter Kit" with her again as she mocks the fans with soap and toothpaste. Tenille cuts her off though and is fast on the offense until she hits a leapfrog and turns into the Womens Right  by Evans to end the match.

  Match Three: Dean Malenko vs "Hotstuff " Eddie Gilbert w/Missy Hyatt        

Malenko gives Gilbert all he can candle in this match as Jerry Lawler joins Jim Ross on commentary,  where its announced that next week, Lawler will face Cactus Jack, and if Lawler wins that match, he WILL face Eddie Gilbert at "Violence of the Lambs!" Gilbert chokes Malenko on the ropes then argues with the referee as Missy Hyatt sprays perfume in Malenkos eyes. Malenko stumbles off the ropes right into the Hotshot by Gilbert to get the win.

Main Event: Britt Baker vs Becky Lynch vs Asuka for the IWA Womens World title         


All 3 women stand in neutral corners as the introductions are made. Asuka hands the world title to the ref and the bell rings..... Baker sprints across the ring and dropkicks Asuka out of the ring. Baker gets up and stares at Becky Lynch......and the fight is on between them!  A modified camel clutch with a bridge on Baker by Becky. Baker  though off the ropes out of it lands a nice Lou Thesz Press on Asuka, 1......2......NO!

Lynch eliminated Baker with a running knee to her back. The action remains constant and everywhere with all three women going at it at the same time. Some floor action goes down. Lynch drops a leg over the top rope onto Baker in the ring. Asuka then followed up. Lynch takes Asuka off of here and now the two try co-exist to take apart Baker. Lynch hit a shoulderbreaker and then went to work on Asuka in the corner spearing her.
Meanwhile Baker had time to buy herself a break and she rolled up Lynch, 1......2......NO!!!  Lynch slapped Baker at the ropes and then off the ropes Baker lands a high kick on Lynch followed by shots. Asuka grabbed her by the hair and then scoop slammed Baker sitting down, hard powerful slam by Asuka scoring her a two.

Asuka and Lynch scream at one another. Lynch holds Britt for Asuka and she goes for a kick and instead lands it on Lynch. Baker with a roll-up on Asuka,  1.......2.......NO!!!
A drop kick to Asuka and a nearfall. Britt sent Lynch to the corner and she runs into a knee. Lynch up high is taken off by Baker with a headscissors takedown. Baker delivering shots to Lynch now at the side ropes. Lynch rolls out to the floor. Asuka then had Baked in a bad way, with a half boston crab. Baked sells the hold very good and screams in pain but won't tap out!! Out of desperation,, Baker fights up with a roll-up on Lynch and she got a two.

Asuka back in then lifts Baker up in front full nelson dropping her face first. A big kick from Lynch to Asuka! Lynch misses a moonsault.  Lynch takes  Asuka to the floor with a back bodydrop. From behind Baker was waiting.  She grabs Lynch and hits a back German suplex that sends Lynch crashing into the ref! Baker grabs Lynch and crotches her on the top turnbuckle! Britt climbs up.....she wants a superplex!! As she battles to position Lynch up for the move, Asuka charges in and climbs up the turnbuckles as well......Asuka and Baker DOUBLE SUPERPLEX LYNCH TO THE MAT!! ALL THREE WOMEN ARE DOWN!! As the fans watch the carnage in the ring, two women jump over the ringside barricade!!





It's The IIconics!!!



They enter the ring and begin to help Becky Lynch to her feet!! Lynch looks confused at first, then begins smiling. Lynch goes for Asuka.....but the IIconics grab Lynch......and nails her with A DOUBLE GOOZLE! The IIconics throw Lynch out if the ring. Britt Baker crawls over to Asuka......and Aries the lockjaw to the world champion! The IIconics revive the ref then leave the ring. The ref crawls over and checks Asuka.....Asukas arm drops once.......DROPS TWICE.......DROPS THREE TIMES!!! BRITT BAKER IS YOUR NEW IWA WOMENS WORLD CHAMPION!!!!



BAKER TAKES THE TITLE FROM THE REF AS THE RING ANNOUNCER MAKES THE OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT AS SHOW FADES TO BLACK!
