**** LAST TIME ON PROGRESS **** We get a full rundown of the 2 day Ring of Victory event ....
* Rhea Ripley won the 2020 Queen of the Ring match, becoming the Interim women’s champion
* Ronda Rousey made her in-ring debut, beating Bayley via ref stoppage
* Roderick Strong defeated Kyle O’Reilley in a brutal Hybrid Fighting Rules match
* ‘The Villain’ Marty Scurll defeated Atlas Champion Finn Balor in the semi-finals, and then ‘Heartbreak Kid’ Shawn Michaels in the finals to win the 2020 World Cup
* Controversy struck the shows main event, as Shawn Michaels was attacked in the locker room minutes before the final match .... A weakened HBK was then defeated by Scurll, leading many to believe Scurll was the man behind the attack ....
*****EC3 starts off the show .... Ring of Victory is the biggest event of the year and gives Progress a chance to reset things headed into the Bash .... EC3 says win-loss records are going to matter going forward, and so are Progress’ rankings .... top 5 rankings will be tabulated every week .... Shawn Michaels interrupts to a huge pop .... What happened to being a man and facing someone like a man instead of jumping them from behind? He knows Marty Scurll is behind what happened to him at the World Cup, and he challenges him to come out and look him in the eyes like a man .... Out comes Marty Scurll, who still claims he had nothing to do with it .... There are no asterisks in wrestling .... He’s a villain, so he took the win and the World Cup trophy .... HBK would have done the same thing .... But he’s not the guy that took him out .... So Michaels wants to fight him? Well that’s not going change the fact that he is the man that will face John Cena at the Great American Bash .... INTERVIEW: Atlas Champion Finn Balor talks with Alicia Atout .... Balor talks about the fans reaction to him at the World Cup, and he’s mad because Scurll beat him using heel tactics and yet the people cheer him .... Balor shows good fire here, borderline bitterness at the shifting whims of the fans .... He says Drew McIntyre became the people’s savior but he beat Drew McIntyre 1-2-3 in the middle of the ring .... Then people want to cheer a man like Marty Scurll? Well, maybe Scurll needs to be introduced to the Prince ....
Instead, Balor is interrupted by Keith Lee .... Lee says he patiently waited until Balor was finished with the World Cup, but surely he didn’t forget the unfinished business they have ....
Now Kyle O’Reilley walks in .... O’Reilley says they want to talk about unfinished business, well he got robbed of his title opportunity by Roderick Strong, but Lee just couldn’t get the job done on his own ....
Roderick Strong comes in now and things are crowded on the set .... He beat O’Reilley at his own game at Ring of Victory .... he is the only man out here that hasn’t faced Balor and failed .... EC3 interrupts now, and says everyone makes good points .... tonight we will have a triple threat match with the winner getting a shot at Balor at the Great American Bash .... Balor says fine, and that he will be watching closely .... that match is NEXT!

O’Reilley walks right in to Ground Zero from Lee, but Strong breaks it up but then LEE HITS A SPIRIT BOMB ON STRONG ON TOP OF O’REILLEY!!!! Holy shit!!!! Lee pins O’Reilley to win the match .... Drew talks about coming up short at the World Cup and fighting through being injured .... He says he’s not going to make excuses but there one man is to blame and that’s Jacob Fatu and MVP .... For whatever reason they started this with him, but he will be the one that ends it ....
MVP interrupts .... MVP asks how McIntyres ribs feel .... McIntyre goes after him but he backs away .... MVP says McIntyre climbed the mountain, but now realizes the higher you get, the harder it is to breathe .... McIntyre isn’t good enough to breathe the air of a beast like Jacob Fatu, and they are going to squeeze him until there is no air left .... MVP says if Drew is the man he says he is, then he will put the title on the line against Fatu .... Drew puts Fatu over as a monster, but says he only shows up when his back is turned .... If Fatu is such a beast, then bring him with him the next time he comes to talk to him and he can ask him for the match himself ....

Nox was originally the #1 entrant but Baszler attacked her and took her spot, determined to prove she was the baddest woman on the roster .... Baszler would then eliminate Nox during the final four of the match .... Baszler bullies Nox and intimidates her, but Nox shows good fire and fights back .... the fans are solidly behind her .... Nox escapes the Kirafuda Clutch and hits a Canadian Destroyer out of nowhere! **** IN-RING SEGMENT: Progress tag team champions The Grizzled Young Vets ** highlights of Johnny Gargano’s growing feud with the Vets are shown, including the Vets hitting the Ticket yo Mayhem on Johnny’s wife Candice LeRae ... **Gibson and Drake are out and Gibson cuts a promo .... He says they warned Johnny Gargano to stay out of their business but he wouldn’t listen, and now he knows the price of bringing his wife into the situation .... What happened to her last week is on HIS head .... This brings out Imperium (Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner) .... Barthel says if Gibson and Drake are done beating women then they can stop running from Imperium .... They have yet to get a fair one on one opportunity for the belts and they want it .... Gibson asks Barthel when the last time was that they won a match? If they want a shot then earn it, but so far they haven’t earned anything .... Johnny Gargano interrupts now .... Johnny wants payback, but Gibson says Gargano deserves to be in the ring with them even less than Imperium does .... And on top of that, he doesn’t even have a partner .... Johnny says that’s where he’s wrong, he has a partner and his partner wants payback more than he does! Out comes Candice LeRae! EC3 talks about what just happened .... He makes the match for the next Youtube show: Candice LeRae vs. Zack Gibson vs. Marcel Barthel! EC3 says if Candice wins, as crazy as it sounds, her and Johnny will be added to the tag title match .... If Barthel wins, it will just be the Vets defending against Imperium one on one .... but if Gibson wins, they don’t have to defend the titles against either team!

‘The Villain’ Marty Scurll (GREAT BRITAIN)Shawn comes out dressed in jeans and cowboy boots .... He attacks early and whips Scurll with his belt .... Scurll clotheslines HBK to the floor and hits the superkick from the apron .... They brawl into the crowd, where Shawn hits a suplex into a row of chairs! HBK busts out the weapons, hitting Scurll with a garbage can .... HBK grabs a chair, but Scurll gets his hands on his umbrella .... They both swing at the same time, but Scurll connects and busts Shawn open! Shawn is bleeding all over the place .... HBK fires off the ropes with the flying forearm and kips up, but Scurll is up also and hits Black Plague! Shawn kicks out!!!! Scurll goes under the ring and retrieves a ladder, but HBK dropkicks it back in his face! This gets a 2 count .... HBK up top, but Scurll counters by tossing the ladder at him and knocking him to the floor .... Shawn is still staggering, so Scurll sets the ladder up in the corner and then jumps over it to splash HBK! Shawn takes out Marty’s legs and catapults him into the ladder .... HBK gets the chair again and blasts Marty with a sick chair shot .... HBK up top and connects with the flying elbow! HBK tunes up the band, but Scurll counters with a low blow .... Marty goes for the Chickenwing, but Shawn counters with a mule kick to the nuts! Both guys are staggered, but Scurll walks right into the Sweet Chin Music out of nowhere! HBK falls on top for the 1 ... 2 ... 3! POST MATCH: As a bloody HBK is being attended to after the match, Karrion Kross’ music hits! FALL AND PRAY! Scarlett leads Kross to the ring, but what is he doing here??? Kross comes to the ring and stands between the fallen Marty and Shawn Michaels .... he takes a step toward Scurll, but then attacks an already bloody HBK! Doomsday Clock (saito)! Scarlett is laughing, as Kross picks Michaels up and hits a 2nd one! Kross stands over HBK as the show closes, and Mauro says it is obvious that Kross was behind the attack on Michaels at Ring of Victory! | |
