Announcer Gus Johnson welcomes everyone to the show. He talks about the start of the NextGen Women's Championship Tournament then tells us today's Main Event will be The Future vs Dragon Lee and Dragon Azteca Jr.
Match 1: Mandy Rose vs Liv Morgan
This is the first match of the tournament. Both women shake hands and the match is on. they wrestle a clean but fairly stiff match. Liv really laying in some hard elbows to the head of Mandy. She whips hir into the corner and hits a cross body Splash into the corner. She goes for a Superplex but Mandy shoves her off to the mat She nails a Flying Dropkick. Then hits the Golden Bomb (Sitout lifting double underhook facebuster). 1.. 2.. 3!
Chase, a newcomer here in Next Generation uses this opportunity to show the crowd some of his gifts. He dominates D Ray with both mat wrestling as well as some impressive throws. He ends it with CO2 (Slingshot Codebreaker). Gus says D Ray may need an X Ray on that jaw.
General Manager Jack Tunney comes out but before he can speak out walks Rush. He says he knows that Tunney is holding him back because he can't control him. He is El' Ingobernable and he answers to no one. Tunney responds that he isn't holding anyone back which is why next week he can take on special guest, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka next show. The crowd laughs as Rush sneers at Jack.
Afterwards Jack says also on the next Show in the Main Event will be a Number 1 contenders match between Baron Corbin and Daisuke Sekimoto.
Gus is excited as his favorite wrestler is in the ring. Deonna however is having a strong outing and Hits a Bridging German for a near fall. Deonna goes for a Splash but Rebel gets her knees up. Hits a Reverse STO then ends it with Southern Charm (Split-legged leg drop)
1.. 2.. 3!
Winner: Rebel
(After the match Amanda Rodriguez attacks Rebel. She again lays her out with the Spinning Brainbuster. Gus almost curses on air as he is so angry with Rodriguez.)
Devin Taylor is in the back with Taya Valkyrie. Taya says this tournament is a farce as everyone knows she is the Cream of the Crop here in Next Generation. She doesn't care who this "Mystery" opponent is. Next show she will run through her and everyone else and win the title.
BMX have been wanting to get called to XWA for a while now. They know a victory tonight would make that a strong possibility. So they throw caution to the wind. Attacking before the bell and really taking the fight to the Bucks. Bucks do come back with a dose of the Superkick Party in which Blake and Murphy are eating kicks to the face in and out of the ring. Gus says he's happy he was invited to that gala, Ha Ha.
BMX does catch Nick with a Double Flapjack. They get a two count but that's all. Matt is able to Backdrop Blake to the floor then they hit Murphy with the Indy Taker. They get the 3 count.
We get a video package for Mandy Rose. She says all anyone sees from her is a pretty face but she is a lot more and is going to prove that here in NextGen.
Main Event: The Future (Trevor Lee & Donovan Dijak) w/Baron Corbin vs Dragon Lee & Dragon Azteca Jr.
The Dragons are out the gate quickly and really are owning the Future early on. Azteca goes for his Green Destiny on Dijak but is tossed off and he lands face first. Trevor comes in and hits a Spear. He covers 1.. 2.. No. They now double team Azteca a while. But he winds up hitting a Headscissors and Arm Drag on both men at the same time he gets the hot tag into Dragon Lee who dropkicks both men to the floor. Baron comes over to them and The Dragons hit a pair of dives on all members of the Future.
They send Trevor back in as Dijak grabs Dragon Lee and hurls him into the steps. As Azteca looks for a Springboard move he is tripped up by Baron as the ref was looking over at Dijak and Dragon Lee. Trevor seizes the opportunity and nails Collision Course. Then ends it with the Orange Crush. Gus says he doesn't like their tactics but he can't argue with the results.
Winners: The Future
Gus Johnson puts over next show and signs off. And then gives a special sign off to Rebel. He'd love to ring that Southern Belle. Ha Ha!
