Live from Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio . . . this is . . .

Shooting Stars Wrestling #24 - 'The Great American Bash' SSWlogo

SHOOTING . . .STARS . . . WRESTLING!!!!

presents . . .

THE GREAT AMERICAN BASH!!!!

A tremendous fireworks display lights up the sky as the show kicks off, and QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE are on hand to give a live version of the SSW theme song, ‘Millionaire’.

‘HERE COMES THE MONEY’ hits and out comes SSW General Manager Shane McMahon.

Shane – ‘On behalf of Shooting Stars Wrestling, I would like to welcome each and every one of you to the ‘Biggest Party of the Summer’, the Great American Bash!!!!  Happy 4th of July everyone, and tonight SSW is going to turn up the heat!  But first, I would like all of us to take a moment and reflect on what this day really means.  We need to remember the people that paid the ultimate price for our freedom, and the people that are paying the price right now all over the world to make sure we still have that freedom.  You look up the people who step into this ring to entertain you, but our men and women of the armed forces . . . they are the real heroes . . .’

Everyone observes a moment of silence for the men and women in uniform . . . past and present.  The camera highlights a group of military that are dressed in full uniform sitting in the front row.  Afterwards, Shane thanks the crowd again and we go to the announce desk with Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan.

Mike – ‘Hello fans and welcome to the Great American Bash!  I’m Mike Goldberg along with Joe Rogan, and we would like to wish all of you out there a happy 4th of July!  Thanks for being with us for the next 3 hours of what will be a night like no other in the world or professional wrestling!

Joe – ‘This is big for us here in SSW Mike!  Last year during the Great American Bash, SSW was not even a concept yet.  But in the short time we’ve been here we have gotten the attention of the rest of the NWA because SSW truly is the ‘Next Chapter’ in the NWA!’

Mike – ‘And tonight fans, if you are tuning in for the very first time, you will see why.  We will see 6 big matches, 3 title matches, but none bigger than ‘American Dragon’ Bryan Danielson challenging Shawn Michaels for the NWA World Heavyweight title!’

Joe – ‘Yeah, the pressure is on HBK for sure.  No World champion in NWA history has made it through the Bash unscathed, and we have already seen that he has a big bullseye painted on his back since getting the belt.  Tonight we will also see the score finally settled between John Cena and CM Punk as they do battle in a 2 out of 3 falls match, with each fall having a different stipulation.’

Mike – ‘And inside the confines of a steel cage, Owen Hart will put the SSW Genesis title on the line against Taz!  In addition, the rest of the Hart Foundation will do battle with Team Domination in a 6 man elimination tag match!’

Joe – ‘Get ready fans, the Next Chapter is coming right into your living room, and we will be right back to kick off all the great wrestling action!!!!’

IN THE BACK: We see Taz sitting in a chair in the locker room, his signature ripped up towel hung low covering his face.

Taz – ‘Taught how to wrestle by Stu Hart . . . taught how to defend himself by Bret Hart . . . taunt how to fly by the Dynamite Kid . . . AND NOW TAUGHT HOW TO DEAL WITH SUFFERING BY TAZ!  Tonight’s the night Owen.  And I’m getting goosebumps just thinking about it brotha.  In a short while, I’m gonna finally get my hands on you inside an unforgiving steel cage.  And with these hands Owen Hart, I’m gonna make you tap!  But I’m not gonna make you tap right away.  No, I’m gonna take my time this time.  No Hart Foundation, just you and me brotha!  And after I make you bleed, then I’m gonna make you tap!  Because I’M TAZ!  And I will be the SSW Genesis Champion!  BEAT ME . . . IF YOU CAN . . . AND, IN THAT CAGE OWEN . . . SURVIVE . . . IF I LET YOU!’

Commercial Break

As we come back from the break, reigning North American Women’s champion Victoria is already in the ring.  She cuts a promo and puts over that a women’s division will start up after the Bash tour is over, and she claims to be the ‘measuring stick’ for women’s wrestling in the NWA.  There is no need to crown a new champion because she is the undisputed women’s champion and anyone who is brave enough is welcome to try to prove her wrong!  This brings out Beth Phoenix, who reminds Victoria that she beat her in Japan, and then had her beat a couple of weeks ago.  Then out comes Mickie James!  Mickie says that they are looking at a former women’s champion as well.  Victoria says that she could beat either one of them, or even both of them at the same time.  Mickie tells her to put the title on the line and she has a deal, and we have ourselves a match!

For the Women’s North American Title:

(Champion) ‘Queen’ Victoria
Weight: 155 lbs
Hometown: Louisville, Kentucky
Music: ‘Control’ by Puddle of Mudd
Finisher: Widow’s Peak

vs.

‘The Glamazon’ Beth Phoenix
Weight: 150 lbs
Hometown: Buffalo, New York
Music: ‘Brickhouse’ by Rob Zombie
Finisher: Beth Valley Driver/ Fisherman Buster

Vs.

Mickie James
Weight: 124lbs
Hometown: Richmond, Virginia
Music: Shut up and Drive by Rhianna
Finisher: Stratus-faction, Mick-kick

Victoria gets double-teamed and sent outside at the start.  Beth and Mickie fight it out, but lay each other out with a double clothesline.  The opportunistic Victoria slides in and tries to get a quick pin on each other them, but they kick out.  Victoria hits the ‘Spiders Web’ on Mickie for another 2 count, but Beth is back up and hits a T-Bone suplex.  Beth scoops her for the ‘Beth Valley Driver’, but Mickie breaks it up with the ‘Mick Kick’.  Beth goes up top but Victoria stops her and hits a super-plex!  Mickie is back up and catches Victoria from behind and goes for the springboard bulldog, but Beth catches her and power bombs her to the mat at the same time.  All 3 women are down, when out of the back comes a huge imposing figure!

Mike – ‘Wait a minute!  That is Kong!  THAT’S AWESOME KONG!  What is she doing here????’

Kong hits the ring and lays out Mickie and Victoria!  Awesome Bomb to Mickie!  Awesome Bomb to Victoria!   Beth is up and gets in Kong’s face, not backing down.  They both start throwing punches, going toe to toe but Beth doesn’t last very long.  Kong hammers her with a spinning back-fist, then picks her up and plants her with the Awesome Bomb!  She grabs the women’s title and looks at it, then tosses it down on top of Victoria and walks off.

‘Ladies & Gentlemen, the referee has called a stop to this contest due to outside interference . . . therefore still the North American Women’s champion, Victoria!’

Joe – ‘My God!  Kong just took out all 3 of them!  I don’t know if anyone in the women’s division will be able to stop her!  Fans, coming up next is the 6 man elimination tag match, and it promises to be off the charts!’

Mike – ‘This one has become so personal in a short amount of time.  These guys have almost made this a patriotic issue, the Harts representing Canada and Team Domination representing the United States!’

Joe – ‘Well, it’s July 4th Mike, and Team Domination will definitely have the home field advantage, moreso than anyone usually has against the Hart Foundation.  Fans, get ready!  We’ll be right back!’

We see a shot from the skyboxes above the Stadium, which Shane McMahon has reserved for the other promoters in the NWA to attend the show.  We see Shane sitting with RWA commissioner Nicholas De Vannes.

Shane- ‘What do you think so far?’

De Vannes- ‘Good stuff. I was pretty skeptical when you mentioned it to me a while back. I like what I am seeing though. Bringing in those MMA anouncers was brilliant. They have a real chemistry.'

Shane- ‘Well I do appreciate the chance to really show off our tag team division.’

De Vannes- ‘Jesse and Billy are looking forward to it. Plus, seeing them in a damn ladder match....that alone is worth the price of admission.’

Shane- ‘You won't be let down man. Thanks again for coming.’

De Vannes- ‘My pleasure Shane-o.  Thanks for having me’

Commercial Break

A video package airs showing the events leading up to the next match, and the problems that have developed between the Hart Foundation and Team Domination as of late.

Team Domination gets an enormous pop as they come out, each man draped in the American Flag.  The Foundation come out to a smattering of boos, waving the Canadian Flag.  Storm demands that the Canadian national anthem be played, but Team Domination attacks them before it can play!

Elimination 6 man tag match:

Team Domination (Kurt Angle, Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas)
Weight: 710 lbs
Hometown: Pittsburgh, PA . . . Orangeburg, South Carolina . . . Tulsa, Oklahoma
Music: ‘Gold Metal’ by Dale Oliver (Angle’s TNA theme music)
Finisher: Olympic Slam, Ankle Lock, The Dominant Force (Fireman carry flapjack by Haas into Flatliner by Benjamin)

vs.

The Hart Foundation (Owen Hart, Lance Storm & Teddy Hart)
Weight: 645 lbs
Hometown: Calgary, Alberta Canada
Music: Hart Foundation theme music
Finisher: Sharpshooter, Canadian Maple Leaf, Hart Attack 2.0

All 6 men start brawling at the onset, and the ref loses control.  Team Domination is controlling the action until Teddy gets a cheap shot on Benjamin, allowing the Harts to take over.  The Harts make frequent tages, but Benjamin manages to get free and make the hot tag in to Haas, who starts laying people out with suplexes.  Angle and Shelton join the fight and we have all 6 men going at it again.  As the ref tries to restore order, Storm catches Haas out of nowhere with a springboard missile drop kick.  Teddy goes up top and hits the ‘Heart Stopper’ (shooting star elbow) and gets the pin!  CHARLIE HAAS HAS BEEN ELIMINATED!  Team Domination is down 3 to 2, but Angle and Shelton continue the fight.  Angle plants Harry with an Olympic slam, then traps Teddy in the ankle lock.  Storm breaks it up, but Shelton is in and hits the ‘Shell-Shocka’.  He pins Storm, but Harry cracks him across the back with the flag pole!  The ref doesn’t see it, and Storm rolls over on top and gets the pin!

Mike – ‘Shelton Benjamin has been eliminated!  Man, Joe, I don’t like these odds.’

Joe – ‘Things don’t look too good for Kurt Angle.  The Hart Foundation has a 3 to 1 advantage.  This is going to be hard for Kurt to overcome.’

Angle looks a little worried as he is surrounded by the Hart Foundation and we have to take a break.

Commercial Break

Back from break, Angle is getting worked over by Storm in the ring.  The Harts toy with him for a few moments, then Storm orders Teddy to finish him off.  Teddy goes to the top but Angle is playing possum and he jumps up, running up the ropes and hitting a top rope Olympic Slam!!!!  He hooks the leg, and gets the 3 count!  TEDDY HART HAS BEEN ELIMINATED!  Harry immediately is all over Angle, and he goes for the running power slam but Angle slips off the back.  Harry gets the Olympic Slam, then Angle pulls the straps down!  Angle cinches in the ankle lock, staring at Storm and daring him to come in.  Storm tries, but Angle lets go and takes out Storm with a belly to belly, then goes right back to the ankle lock!  Harry taps!  HARRY SMITH HAS BEEN ELIMINATED!  It is now down to Storm and Angle!  These two put on a clinic for a good 5 minutes.  Storm reverses the Olympic Slam into a tornado DDT, then gets a close 2 after a springboard missile dropkick.  ‘USA!’ chants break out in the crowd as Angle fights back, hitting a series of rolling German Suplexes, then locking on the ankle lock!  Storm manages to roll out of the move and trap Angle in the Canadian Maple Leaf, but he refuses to tap.  Angle fights out of a power bomb and traps Storm in a Gogoplata, but Nattie Neidhart gets on the apron.  Angle lets go and grabs her, but Storm nails him from behind.  Storm goes for the Cradle Piledriver, but Angle trips the leg and locks on the ankle lock!  He pulls Storm to the center and scissors the leg, and Storm has no choice but to finally tap out!!!!

Ladies & Gentlemen, here are your winners . . . Team Domination!!!!

Mike – ‘IT’S OVER!  ANGLE DID IT!  HE DID IT!’

Joe – ‘That is Amazing Mike!  Angle overcame all the odds in that one!’

Fireworks explode as Angle and the rest of Team Domination celebrate in the ring, holding up the American flag.

Joe – ‘Well fans, we’re just getting started here at the Bash.  Because coming up next we are going to see the NWA world tag champions in action!’

Mike – ‘That’s right, SSW will get its first shot at some NWA gold coming up next.  Let’s hope that the Machine Guns or the Gods of Gravity can get the job done, but the task is daunting.  The Lords of Chaos are 2 time NWA World tag team champions.’

Joe – ‘Yeah, but the Guns and the GOG don’t have to beat the champs tonight, they just have to be the first ones to make it to the top of that ladder!’

Mike – ‘Well, folks, that match is coming up next but, speaking of the champs, let’s go to the back and Joel Gertner, who is standing by with the Lords of Chaos and their manager, the lovely Kimona.’

Gertner- ‘Guys, as far as I know, you have never defended the world tag titles in a ladder match. Not only that, but you are defending against two of SSW's top teams, The Motor City Machine Guns and a team you faced at last year's Bash, The Gods of Gravity. Do you have a game plan in mind?’

Jesse- ‘Joel Gerber, ya know we've been in the ring with some of the wildest teams under the craziest rules. This will be no exception. Chris Sabin, every damn time you come to the ring, you point at your hand. What the fuck are you doing???? It don't matter. We are facing two teams who like to jump around. Well, lookit here boys. *Billy and Jesse both flex* You know what these guns are for? Swattin' flies outta the damn air. And that includes flies like the four of you. Reverend Superstar, preach the gospel.’

Graham- ‘Oh hell yeah, daddy-o! What the Motor City Pissants and Gods of Goofy don't get is that you can do all the flying and running and jumping and fancy moves. You can do a triple gainer from the top followed by corckscrew plancha. Then, when you collide with the devastation that is 569 pounds of TWISTED STEEL AND SEX APPEAL, you will realize that you just should have stayed your narrow gymnist wanna be asses at home.’

Commercial Break

IN THE BACK: CM Punk is shown warming up for his match against John Cena tonight.  Joel Gertner comes in and tries to get a word with Punk, but Punk just slams the door in his face.

Mike – ‘Wow.  CM Punk is intense tonight.  That match is going to be what SSW is all about!’

Joe – ‘Yeah, the time for talking is just about done.  I am really looking forward to that one, but this NWA World tag title match could steal the show!’

Mike – ‘You’re right.  We’ve got the NWA world tag champions and 4 of the most gifted high-flyers in the NWA.  What a great move by Shane McMahon in taking advantage of the open contract sent out by the tag champs and naming the special stipulation.  Now SSW has the opportunity to bring home 2 world titles tonight.

Ladder match for the NWA World tag team titles

Champions: The Lords of Chaos (Jesse Ventura & Superstar Billy Graham) w/ Kimona
Weight: 569 lbs of ‘Twisted Steel and Sex Appeal’
Hometown: Paradise Valley, Arizona
Music: ‘Bad to the Bone’ by George Thorogood

Weight: 385 lbs
Hometown: Olympia, Washington and Austin, Texas
Music: Danger: High Voltage by Electric 6
Finisher: London Calling (shooting star press) & Sliced Bread # 2

As the bell rings, the Guns and the GOG both bail out and go for the ladders.  Jesse and Billy just watch, and Billy lays out Sabin as he slides in with a ladder.  He picks up the ladder and throws it outside, right on top of London and Kendrick!  Shelley is in, but he gets pressed above Ventura’s head and tosses outside, then Graham presses Sabin and tosses him right out onto his own partner!

Mike – ‘Man, it is not looking good for SSW in the early goings!’

Joe – ‘It is no secret the LOC have the decided power advantage, but I never thought they would dominate this way!’

The LOC look at each other and shrug, then go outside and get the ladders.  They set them up in the ring and start to climb each one, but Sabin and Shelley are back up and mount the turnbuckles, knocking the LOC odd the ladders with stereo missile dropkicks!!!!  The Guns set up the ladders, but the GOG are back in and stop them from climbing.  London and Kendrick hit a double super kick on Shelley, and lay Sabin out with the ‘Get Well Soon’ (Flatliner by Kendrick and enziguri by London).  The GOG try to climb, but the LOC are back up and stop them.  Graham pulls Kendrick off the ladder in a power bomb, but he reverses it into a huricanrana that takes both men over the top rope to the floor.  Kendrick holds on to the top rope and slides back in.  Ventura and London are fighting on the ladder, but London gets knocked off.  Kendrick stops Ventura from grabbing the belt and then hits the ‘Sliced Brea # 2’ off the top of the ladder!!!!  The Guns are back up, and they hit the ‘Murder City’ kicking combo on Graham as he slides back in.  Everyone is down but the Guns and they start climbing the ladder!!!!  Ventura is up, and he jumps off the 2nd rope and spears Shelley off of the ladder!!!!  Sabin takes one of the ladders down and blasts Ventura with it.  Sabin climbs, but Mickie James slides in the ring and grabs his leg.  Sabin scoops her up and lays her out with the Cradle Shock, but London stops him from climbing the ladder.   London and Sabin both climb to the top and are reaching for the belts, but Graham climbs up as well.  He grabs London and tosses him off the ladder all the way to the floor, then he picks Sabin up in a gorilla press at the top of the ladder!!!!  He tosses him off, RIGHT INTO THE WAITING ARMS OF VENTURA WHO HITS THE ‘CHAOS THEORY’!!!!  HOLY SHIT CHANT BY THE CROWD!!!!  All alone at the top, Graham reaches up and pulls down the title belts to win the match!

Here are your winners . . . and STILL NWA World tag team champions . . . The Lords of Chaos!!!!

Mike – ‘What an amazing match!  The LOC survive!’

Joe – ‘Man, now we see why they are the champs Mike.  They took the best shot of SSW’S elite teams and came out on top, and in a match that I would say heavily favored the smaller, quicker teams.’

Mike – ‘The LOC continue their dominance of the tag team division.’

The camera zooms in on the ominous steel cage, which is suspended in the air by a large crane and ready to be lowered down onto the ring.

Mike – ‘Well, there you see it folks.  It is just about time.  Coming up next, we are going to see the SSW Genesis title defended as the longest reigning singles champion in the NWA, Owen Hart, puts the title on the line against the ‘Human Suplex Machine’ Taz!’

Joe – ‘The cage pretty much takes the Hart Foundation out of the equation, but the question is can Owen Hart survive the ‘One Man Crime Spree’ on his own, when it’s one on one????  We’re gonna find out!’

Commercial Break

IN THE BACK: ‘American Dragon’ Bryan Danielson cuts a promo about his huge opportunity at the NWA World title tonight.  He knows HBK can’t be 100%, and that is regrettable but opportunities like this don’t come along every day.  He is going to make the most of his opportunity tonight.  Because he has beaten Michaels before, back when he was 100%, so tonight he is going to beat him again.  Tonight he is going to prove that he is the ‘Best in the World’

The crane lowers the steel cage over the ring.  The cage is larger than the ring itself, allowing the wrestlers to go outside the ring similar to a hell in the cell.

Steel Cage match for the SSW Genesis title:

(Champion) Owen Hart w/ Nattie Neidhart & Jimmy Hart
Weight: 227 lbs
Hometown: Calgary, Alberta Canada
Music: Hart Foundation Theme from WWE
Finisher: The Sharpshooter

vs.

‘The Human Suplex Machine’ Taz
Weight: 240 lbs
Hometown: Red Hook Section, Brooklyn, NY
Music: "War Machine" by KISS
Finisher: katahajime (Taz-mission)

Owen immediately makes a break to climb out of the cage, but Taz pulls him down and starts punishing him.  Taz hits some rights, then explodes out of the corner with the ‘Angry Man’s clothesline’ that floors Owen.  Taz follows up with a vicious ‘Brooklyn Boot’, and Owen is in trouble.  Taz rains down some hard cross-face shots that bust open Owen’s nose badly.  Taz holds up both arms and screams out ‘Fuck the World!’  Taz calls for the door to be opened, but Owen cuts him off and nails a spinning heel kick.  Now Owen takes over, hammering Taz with punches of his own.  Owen tries to climb, but Taz meets him at the top and hits a belly to belly Taz-plex off the top rope!  Taz slowly starts to crawl toward the door, but Owen grabs his leg.  Taz goes for a German suplex, but Owen uses the old trick knee to hit him with a low blow.  Owen nails a gutwrench suplex on Taz, then goes up top and hits a guillotine leg drop.  Owen locks Taz in the sharpshooter!!!!  Taz is trapped for several minutes, but Owen finally lets go and sets his sights on escaping.  He takes a little too long and Taz grabs his foot but Owen hits an enziguri!  Owen tries to escape, but Taz grabs him again, pulling him back to the middle and locking on the Taz-mission!!!!  Owen is choked out, and he is tapping but the match cannot end that way.  Taz tosses Owen down and goes for the door, but Jimmy Hart and Nattie Neidhart get in his way.  Taz grabs Jimmy and plants him with a head & arm taz-plex!!!!  Nattie distracts Taz while Owen gets up and tries to climb out behind his back, but Taz catches him.  Taz catches Owen on top of the cage and they fight.  Both men start to climb down on the other side of the cage, fighting the whole way.  They let go, falling all the way to the floor at the same time!!!!

There are 2 referees on the scene, and neither one of them is sure who won.  One ref awards the match and the title to Taz, and the other awards it to Owen.  The refs actually go over to the announce table and view the finish on instant replay, but Owen just comes over and grabs the SSW title and leaves to a chorus of boos, screaming that there is no instant replay in wrestling!

Mike – ‘What is going on here?  Who won?’

Joe – ‘Who knows?  It looked like both men hit the floor at the same time, and we have conflicting decisions from the referees!  They are even consulting our replays here at the desk.’

Mike – ‘Well, I hate to say it, but Owen is right.  There is no instant replay in wrestling.  But this match is over,a nd we have no clue who the SSW Genesis champion is!’

Commercial Break

IN THE BACK: Joel Gertner tries to get a word with John Cena as he is leaving his locker room, but Cena just stares a hole in him and walks off.

Cena – ‘The time for words is over with!’

Mike – ‘Well Joe, it is time for the big one.  This is where we see just how SSW stacks up to the rest of the NWA.’

Joe – ‘Well, I can’t think of anyone else that I would rather have representing us than the Pure Wrestling Champion, who actually owns a victory over the World Champ in the record books.’

Mike – ‘Fans, coming up next it is Shawn Michaels vs. Bryan Danielson for the NWA World title!’

For the NWA World Heavyweight title:

(Champion)  ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ Shawn Michaels
Weight: 225 lbs
Hometown: San Antonio, Texas
Music: ‘Sexy Boy’ by Shawn Michaels
Finisher: Sweet Chin Music

Vs.

(SSW Pure Champion) ‘American Dragon’ Bryan Danielson
Weight: 185 lbs
Hometown: Aberdeen, Washington
Music: ‘The Final Countdown’ by Europe
Finisher: Cattle Mutilation

HBK and Dragon shake hands before the match starts, and then put on a clinic.  HBK is the quicker of the two, and he manages to ‘out-quick’ Danielsons mat-based strategy in the early-goings.  Danielson rebounds, hitting a standing drop kick and tying HBK up in holds that he can only escape by getting to the ropes.  A frustrated HBK bails out of the ring.  HBK unleashes a series of chops in the corner after a lock up, then both men exchange shots toe to toe.  Danielson catches HBK in a Tiger Bomb for a close two, and then doesn’t let up, locking in the Mexican Surfboard and working on the back.  Danielson scoops up HBK and hits the ‘AIRPLANE SPIN OF DOOM’ for another close fall, and HBK is in trouble.  Danielson goes for the Tiger Suplex, but HBK reverses and hits the ‘Teardrop’ back suplex on Danielson.  HBK clotheslines Danielson over the top, but he holds on and skins the cat back in, then hits the Asai Moonsault to the outside on Dragon!!!!  HBK takes the ring steps apart and then piledrives Danielson on the steps!  He tosses him back in, then slams him to the mat and goes up top.  He goes for the elbow, but Danielson gets the knees up right into his back!  Danielson hits a Tiger Suplex, then floats right over into the ‘Cattle Mutilation’!!!!  HBK is in trouble, but finally makes it to the ropes!  Danielson and HBK exchange more shots, and Danielson misses a diving European Uppercut off the 2nd rope.  HBK clips the knee and locks on the modified figure four, and Danielson has to get to the ropes to break it.  Danielson reverses a whip, but HBK takes him out with the flying forearm.  Both men are down, but HBK kips up and climbs to the top, hitting the picture perfect elbow drop!  HBK tunes up the band, but Danielson dodges and rolls HBK up in a backslide for a close 2!  HBK is back up, and Danielson rocks him with a European uppercut.  Danielson sits HBK up top and goes for the super back suplex, but at the last second HBK twists in mid air and comes crashing down on Danielsons chest!  HBK covers for the 1 . . . 2 . . . NOOOOOO!  Danielson kicks out!  HBK looks determined as he tunes up the band while Danielson struggles to get to his feet.  He gets up, and HBK nails him right in the jaw with the Sweet Chin Music!  HBK falls on top and the ref counts 1 . . . 2 . . . 3!!!!

‘Here is your winner . . . and STILL NWA World Heavyweight Champion . . . ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ Shawn Michaels!!!!

Mike – ‘What a great win by the champion!  Boy, he took all Danielson had to offer and held onto the title.’

Joe – ‘HBK is off to a great start to begin the Bash!  Danielson took him to the limit but he showed us why he is the show stoppa for sure!’

Both men shake hands after the match, and Danielson raises HBK’S hand much to the delight of the crowd.

A promo airs for the Great American Bash, giving a rundown of the cities that the Bash is yet to appear in throughout the month of July.

Commercial Break

We’re back to live action and it is time for the main event.  A video package is shown highlighting the feud between Cena and Punk, showing how their rivalry over who would challenge for the SSW title turned into full blown personal issues between the two.

Mike – ‘Well fans, it’s time!’

Joe – ‘What a show it has been so far tonight, Mike.  It has been a real pleasure calling the action tonight, and I am looking forward as a fan to calling this next match.’

Mike – ‘This rivalry between John Cena and CM Punk has become one of the hottest feuds in the NWA, and this next match should show the world what the ‘Next Chapter’ is all about.  One way or another, this score between them will be settled tonight.’

Joe – ‘You’re right.  So far, it has been Punk getting the better of Cena in the mind games department, but both men own a victory over the other, although neither win was clean.  Each one still feels like they have something to prove to the other.’

2 out of 3 Falls match to settle the score:

John Cena
weight: 260 lbs
hometown: West Newberry, MA
music: Basic Thug-O-Nomics-John Cena
finisher: F-U Slam; STFU

vs.

CM Punk
Weight: 220 lbs
Hometown: Chicago, Illinois
Music: ‘Miseria Cantere: The Beginning’ by AFI
Finisher: Go to Sleep, Anaconda Vice

There is a ton of tension as this one begins, and both men actually start the match out with some chain wrestling.  Surprisingly, Cena holds his own.  Cena quickly relies on his power, taking Punk down with a shoulder block, then hitting a quick power slam for a two count.  Punk reverses a whip and nails Cena with a heel kick, then locks in a side headlock.  Cena reverses, but Punk goes right back to the side headlock time after time.  Punk’s offense centers around wearing Cena down with the headlock.  Cena catches Punk in a falling hip toss, followed by a fisherman suplex for another 2.  Cena goes for the F-U early, but Punk gets out and scoops Cena up for the GTS.  Cena slips off and hits the ‘Proto-plex’ and holds up his hand.  U CAN’T SEE ME!!!!  Cena comes off, but misses the 5 knuckle shuffle.  Punk nails Cena with some open ahnd slaps, followed by a spinning back-fist and a head kick.  Punk hits the Pepsi Twist, but Cena kicks out.  Punk tosses Cena into the corner and goes for the ‘Kitchen Sink’ knee, but Cena blocks it and dumps Punk over the top rope to the floor!  Cena goes up top, then flies off with a bodypress on Punk on the outside!!!!!  Cena tosses Punk back in, but gets caught with the ‘Devil Lock’ DDT.  Punk cannot capitalize and both men are down.  Punk rolls to the apron and hits the springboard clothesline, then goes up top.  Cena is up and crotches him, and he climbs up for a super-plex.  Both men fight on the top rope, and Punk manages to turn it into the ‘Pepsi Plunge’ from the top!!!!  Punk hooks the leg and gets the 1 . . . 2 . . . 3!!!!

Joe – ‘Punk takes the first fall!  This is not a position that John Cena wanted to find himself in for sure.’

Mike – ‘Fans, we have to take a break as the wrestlers get their 90 second rest period.  When we come back, we’ll find out if John Cena can even the score or if it will be CM Punk in 2 straight falls.’

Commercial Break

Back from break, the bell rings to start the 2nd fall.  Punk taunts Cena by holding up 1 finger and saying ‘One more to go.’

Mike – ‘Punk is supremely confident now that he took that first fall.  Cena is still trying to shake off the effects of that Pepsi Plunge.’

Joe – ‘Well, Punk told John Cena and the world last week that it wasn’t going to go to the 3rd fall.  He is already up 1 to nothing, and I would give him the advantage in this fall due to the stipulations.  He is a much better submission wrestler than Cena.’

Both men change their gameplans as the 2nd fall begins, and they target specific body parts.  Punk dominates the early goings, working on the arm of Cena, who is still feeling the effects of the ‘Pepsi Plunge’.  Cena starts to fight back, and hits some big power moves that work on the back of Punk.  He sets him up top, and this time gets the super-plex!  Cena wears Punk down with a bearhug, but Punk fights out and hits a tornado DDT.  Punk goes for the GTS, but Cena slips off and locks in a sleeper!  Punk fades, but when the ref raises his hand Punk keeps it up on the 3rd time.  Cena let’s go and gives Punk the ‘U CAN’T SEE ME!’ sign and comes off with the 5 knuckle shuffle.  Punk dodges a clothesline and drop kicks Cena in the knee, following it up with the ‘Shining Wizard’.  Punk catches Cena in a Urinage as he gets up, then goes right into the Anaconda Vice!!!!

Joe – ‘That’s it!  That is Punk’s finisher and Cena is trapped in the middle of the ring!!!!’

Mike – ‘Cena is fading!!!!’

Cena looks like he is going out, but gets a rush of adrenaline and fights his way back to his feet.  Cena hammers Punk with heavy elbows, finally breaking the hold.  Punk charges, but Cena scoops him up and plants him with the F-U!!!!  Both men are down!  They get up at the same time, and Punk scoops Cena up and hits the GTS but on the way down Cena blocks the knee from Punk and rolls him up, locking on the STFU!!!!  Punk fights to make it to the ropes, but Cena pulls him back to the center and locks the move on again, and this time Punk wastes no time in tapping out!!!!

Mike – ‘Fans, we are even at 1 fall apiece!’

Joe – ‘Wow Mike!  I honestly thought Punk would have a better chance of making Cena tap out, but Cena will not say die.’

Mike – ‘I think Punk knew he couldn’t get to the ropes and tapped out to prevent further damage.’

Joe – ‘You might be right Mike, Punk is a thinking man’s wrestler, and he was saving himself because he knew there was a 3rd fall coming.’

Mike – ‘These two men have a burning desire to prove that they are better than the other, and what better way than going to a 3rd and deciding fall.’

Joe – ‘Fans, as the cage is lowered into place, we will take our final break of the evening.  Stay with us!’

The cage starts to lower into place . . .

Commercial Break

The match is rejoined with both men beating the hell out of each other inside the cage.  Cena blocks Punk trying to ram him into the cage, then takes his legs out and slingshots him into the cage instead!  Cena rakes Punk’s face across the fence, busting him open.  Cena charges in the corner, but Punk dodges and locks Cena in the Tarantula in the ropes!  Punk lets go, then tosses Cena into the corner and hits the ‘Kitchen Sink’ knee followed by a bulldog.  Instead of going for the cover, Punk goes outside and pulls a chair from under the ring.  He swings but Cena ducks and hits a drop toehold, locking on the STFU again!!!!  This time Punk does not tap, and he makes it to the ropes to break the hold.  Cena charges, but this time Punk hits a drop toehold that sends Cena face-first into the chair.  Cena is bleeding now, and Punk hits the ‘Welcome to Chicago’ for a 2 count!  Punk goes for another head kick, but Cena ducks and hits the ‘throwback’ (front flip bulldog).  This time it is Cena that goes under the ring and he pulls out a table!  He props it up in the corner and rams Punk head-first into it over and over, leaving his blood all over the table!  Cena props Punk up against the table and charges, but Punk scoops him up and hits the GO TO SLEEP!!!!  Punk is down, but finally manages to get an arm across for the 1 . . . 2 . . . NOOOOOO!  CENA KICKS OUT!!!!  Punk sets up the table in the ring but also goes outside and gets another table!!!!  Punk stacks both tables up, but Cena decks him and then hits a 2nd rope fame-asser.  Cena sets Punk on the top and is going to super-plex him through the tables, but Punk fights out of it and goes for another Pepsi Plunge!  Cena blocks it and hits a low blow on Punk, then starts to climb out of the cage!  Punk catches him and they fight on top of the cage.  Punk actually locks on a standing Anaconda Vice on Cena on top of the cage, but Cena fights it off and scoops him up on his shoulders!!!!  F-U!!!!  CENA F-U’S PUNK OFF THE TOP OF THE CAGE, SENDING HIM CRASHING THROUGH THE DOUBLE STACKED TABLES!!!!!

Joe – ‘HOLY SHIT!!!!!’

Mike – ‘Punk just went through both of those tables!!!!!  There is no way he can get up from that!!!!’

Cena stares in disbelief for a moment, then he climbs out of the cage and to the floor, winning the match!!!!

‘Ladies and Gentlemen . . . here is your winner . . . JOHN CENA!!!!’

Mike – Cena wins it!!!!  What an unbelievable match!’

Joe – ‘ I have never seen 2 men lay it all on the line like those two did in this match.  This is what SSW is all about!’

Mike – ‘What a night we have had here in Cleveland folks, and the Bash is just getting started.  Wherever you are in America, look for the Bash coming to a city near you.’

Joe – ‘I hope that everyone has enjoyed this show as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you.  Now you know why they call SSW ‘The Next Chapter’!  What a night!’

Mike – ‘We will leave you tonight with John Cena as we sign off fans.  For my partner Joe Rogan, Shane McMahon, and everyone in SSW who made this show possible, thanks for joining us and have a great night!’

The show ends with Cena posing on the stage and celebrating as more fireworks explode against the Cleveland skyline.
