The crowd proudly stands as the Russian National anthem is played and they remain standing as the pomp and circumstance is displayed as we get the Russian Army brigade make their way out followed by Russian President Putin who makes his way out to abig ovation as he settles into his presidential sky box!
LANCE RUSSELL from USWA handles commentary!
RUSSELL:" Fans, I gotta tell ya that this ol' boy has been super impressed by not only the hospitality that we have been shown here since we have arrived but by just how amped up and intense this sold out crowd seems to be! And what a card they will witness tonight ! Not only will we have a super main event as NWA World Champion-Lex Luger defend against the hometown hero of current USWA Heavyweight champion- the Russian Nightmare NIKITA KOLOFF, but we will also have 3 more world title matches along with 2 national title defenses as we get the rubber match between National Champion Kevin Owens and the man he beat for that title Razor Ramon, We ALSO get to see the first title defense of the newly crowned National tag team champions- TERRY FUNK and STAN HANSEN! We have that and a whole lot more so without further ado, lets go up to the ring!"
1st Match: ALEXIS SMIRNOFF vs DAVID "FIT" FINLEY
As expected,SMIRNOFF is cheered throughout this battle here as he and FINLEY go toe to toe and take turns beating the hell outta each other before FINLY tries a back body drop but SMIRNOFF grabs him in a front face lock and hits a swinging neck breaker to get the win
2nd Match: Up next is the match for the World Super Junior Heavyweight Championship
JAY WHITE (c) vs EDDIE GUERRORO
Eddie has been on a damn hot streak as of late and seems to be more than up to the task to take on the equally imptessive champ in Jay White!
These two are almost mirror images of each other here as they match hold for hold, counter for counter and when each man gets an advantage,it does not last long!
The high flying moves by both men are showcased next and have the crowd on their feet!
However the ending comes as Eddie hits Jay with a suplex and goes to the top rope...he goes for the frog splash...but Jay getsb the knees up and knocks the wind outta Ediie! Jay hits the switchblade and makes the cover and gets the pin ! Jay is handed his title and raises it to the crowd as a dejected Eddie looks on as he tries to recover!
LANCE:" Well if that match is a sign of what the rest of the evening is gonna be then the fans better hold on to their seats ! Now up next we are going to see a rubber match between the last two men to have held the National title and this one should be a doozy!"
3rd Match: National Heavyweight Title
KEVIN OWENS (c) vs RAZOR RAMON
NWA National Heavyweight Title Kevin Owens vs Razor Ramon . This is third meeting between these two . They meet in the center of the ring . They both start jawing . Razor throws a toothpick in the face of Owens and then clotheslines him . He stomps away on Owens and then whips him into the corner . He hits a running elbow and the chokeslams his man . He pulls him up and goes for the Razor’s Edge early , Owens gets out the back , spins his man around and decks him with a hard right hand . Owens hits a senton and then goes up and goes for a springboard Moonsault , but Razor gets his knees up . Now he hits a belly to back Suplex . He can be heard saying , “ it’s over for you Chico . “.
He pulls Owens up , Fall Away Slam !!! Chokeslam !!! He covers 1 ……. 2…….Owens gets a foot on the ropes . He pulls Owens up …….. RAZORS EDGE !!!!! He makes a crafty cover. Using the ropes for leverage as well . 1………2………The ref catches him . He yells at the ref . School boy from Owens …..1……..2.,…….Noooo ! Razor gets out . Owens with a pop up Powerbomb !! 1………2………Razor kicks out !!! Owens with an elbow drop across the chest . He covers 1……..2………Noooo !! Owens hits a Piledriver !!! He covers 1.,…….2…….. Razor gets a foot on the ropes ! Owens pounds the mat in frustration. He goes to pull Razor up , Razor headbutts him and then gets off a roaring Larait !!!! Razor now works an Abdominal Stretch !!!! He’s slapping Owens at the same time . Owens hiptosses out of it . He blatantly chokes Razor on the mat , breaking just before 5 .
He pulls Razor up , Razor rakes the eyes and clotheslines Owens over the top rope , down to the floor . Razor slams Owens head into the ring post . He bites Owen’s head . Owens is bleeding . Razor rolls his man back in the ring . He now works a Sleeper !!!! Owens blood is pumping out at a fast rate . The ref checks the arm . It falls once . He checks again and it falls . Final check !!! Owens somehow holds up a fist . Elbow to gut on Razor , followed by another and another . Sidewalk Slam !! Owens covers with one arm . Razor is out at 1 !!! Razor kicks Owens in the gut ! He goes for Razors Edge …. Owens gets out the back !!! STUNNER !!! 1…….2……..Noooooo!! Razor kicks out !! Owens pulls his man up . Razor slaps him in the face . Roaring clothesline !! He covers 1………..2………Nooooo ! Owens kicks out just before 3 . Razor goes for another Fall Away , Owens reverses ……..SECOND STUNNER !! He covers 1……….2……….3 !!!
Both men are tired and worn . This is their third epic battle . Not really enemies, but rivals . They stand . Both are hurting . They stagger to the middle of the ring and shake hands !!! This brings an ovation from the crowd .
4th Match: VLADIMI PETROV vs OTTO WANZ
These two big boys battle it out from the very start and never let up ! A mid ring collision stuns both men but Petrov recovers quicker and clamps on a full nelson and after some struggling, Wanz finally submits!
5th Match: National Tag Team title
STAN HANSEN/TERRY FUNK vs The DYNAMIC DUO-GINO HERNANDEZ/CHRIS ADAMS
The texans are in their first title defense here and there couldnt have been a tougher team for these two men to defend against!
The texans come out really aggressive to start but the Duo hold their own at first! HANSEN clobbers Gino for several minutes hoping to wear him down but Gino doesnt give up that easy and fights back to make the hot tag to Adams as HANSEN tags off to FUNK!
FUNK and Adams battle to the floor before their partners join them ! FUNK and Adams beat the count as HANSEN and Gino continue their battle! The ref ,for some reason, tries to get the two on the floor to get back to their corners and as he gets on Gino as he forces him to his corner, behind the refs back ,he doesnt see Adams getting ready to super kick FUNK but he is hit by a lariat in the back of his head, leaving him easy pickings for FUNK to cradle him for the oin as HANSEN rolls out of the ring as the ref turns around just in time to make the three count!
6th Match: ALEX WRIGHT w/ his father STEVEN WRIGHT vs SOLDAT USINOV
Alex keeps things interesting as he utilizes his speed to avoid Soldat's strength but with the fans urging him on, the Russian soon catches him and after a few minutes of a beat down, Ustinov hits a gorilla press slam and covers for the pin! Soldat puts the boots to ALex post match and Alex's dad enters the ring and fights the Russian off as the crowd boos!
7th Match: NWA WORD TAG TEAM TITLES
The BRITISH BULLDOGS (c) vs Mid South tag team champions-OLE and ARN ANDERSON
This match starts out as DAVEY uses his power to keep OLE and ARN from utilizing their usual tactic of keeping one of their opponents in their corner and wearing them down!
DAVEY keeps the pressure on OLE before actually press slamming him and tagging off to DYNAMITE ! DYNAMITE takes over and gets Ole in an armbar o all things but a quick knee to the mid section allows Ole to drag DYNAMITE to their corner and he tags in Arn! Now the Andersons do what they do best and isolate DYNAMITE from DAVEY! DAVEY attempts to intervene a few times but is stopped by the ref!
Eventually DYNAMITE and ARN battle it out and DK crawls thru Arn's legs and scurries over to make the hot tag to DAVEY!
DAVEY cleans house as Ole is met with punches as he enters the fray! The ref is trying to restore order when somehow Arn reverses a throw into the ropes and hits DAVEY with a spinebuster!
But as this happens ,the ref is bus getting an angy Ole out of the ring and as Arn covers, DYNAMITE climbs to the top turnbuckle and hits Arn with a flying headbutt! Arn is out and as the ref turns ,he sees DAVEY covering ARn and makes the three count as DYNAMITE cuts off Ole!
LANCE:" Well the world tag team champs showed that sometimes you have to do what presents you with an opening and thats just what they did! A heck of a match but i'm sure that we havent heard the last from the Andersons! Now up next promises to be a great one as NWA World Tv champion ROWDY RODDY PIPER faces a man hell bent on getting that belt in Magnum TA!"
8th Match: NWA WORLD TV TITLE
RODDY PIPER (c) vs MAGNUM TA
Magnum gets cheers as he enters the ring but RODDY gets boos no matter where in the world he wrestles and hid distain for the crowd shows on his face! PIPER and TA meet center ring and exchange blows as TA figures the best way to fight PIPER is by fighting fire with fire and for the most part it works! PIPER takes to the outside but rather than following him out there, TA stays put as he knows PIPER is at his best when battling on the outside ! This tactic works as PIPER gets infuriated and gets back into the ring and TA takes over ! But the ol; famous PIPER eye poke gives him the chance to regroup and take over on TA ! This eventually leads PIPER into catching TA in the sleeper hold! TA struggles for several minutes and after a few failed attempts to break free, TA pushes back into PIPER and both men are slammed back into the turnbuckle which breaks the sleeper!TA slumps to the mat while PIPER is in the corner trying to catch his breath! TA grabs PIPER and whips him into the opposite corner and then as PIPER comes stumbling out, TA hits PIPER with the belly to belly! TA covers but RODDY is close enough to get his foot on the ropes! As TA argues a bit withn the ref, RODDY reaches into his trunks where he wraps a chain around his fist ! He swings at TA who ducks and as he swings thri, TA picks him up for a back suplex but as he lifts PIPER up, PIPER hits TA in the head with the wrapped chain and TA drops and PIPER falls on top and gets a pin with his feet on the rope as good measure! An exhausted PIPER is habded his world tv title as he rolls outta the ring as the crowd cascades him with boos!
LANCE:" Well, i'll tell you one thing, like him or not ,that darned PIPER retains that title by any means necessarry! Now up next is our main event!"
MAIN EVET
NWA WORLD HGEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
LEX LUGER (c) vs The Russian Nightmare- NIKITA KOLOFF
As if, Luger needed another reason to be disliked, him and Madusa come to the ring wearing all USA attire, which almost drives the Russian audience to Riot.
Inside the ring, Luger stares down Nikita, the referee Tommy Young explains the rules while Nikita never breaks his gaze. Intimidating as hell, Nikita shoves Luger with the power advantage. Luger takes a breather, comes in and tees off with no effect on Nikita. Nikita stands tall with Luger talking massive amounts of trash. Luger chokes Nikita before Nikita tosses Luger across the ring. Luger is re-evaluating with Madusa.. Nikita tosses him again, scoop slam from the challenger and the crowd explodes with "NIKITA! NIKITA!" Chants.
Nikita applies a bearhug and spears Luger with shoulder thrusts before Nikita misses a running splash. Luger lands a vertical suplex and celebrates before Nikita pops right back up! Luger powders again. Side headlock from Nikita and Luger drives Nikita to the corner and lands chops and big punches to the head. Shove-off, Luger runs into a brick wall before Nikita takes down Luger with The Russian Hammer. Nikita misses the sickle though as Luger dodges. Nikita may have hurt his hip or his leg, either way Luger goes to work. Nikita’s leg is sent into the ring-post, chop-lock from The Total Package. Chops and a Figure Four Leg-Lock from Luger with the ropes used for extra leverage. Nikita being an absolute monster decides to turn the tide, Luger is in pain as the hold is reversed so Luger must relinquish the hold.
Nikita hobbles to his feet, Luger goes right after the leg. Nikita’s face is raked across the ropes, chops and punches in the corner but they are shaken off as Nikita starts limping forward. Chop after chop, Nikita shakes off! Side headlock from Nikita but Luger side-steps Nikita who crashes to the floor. Nikita is bleeding after being sent to the ring-post. Knee-drop from Luger for two, belly to back suplex from Luger for a close two. Closed fists from Luger, Nikita is shaken but keeps coming back for more. Shoulder thrusts from Nikita, massive scoop slam with Luger begging for mercy. Hip-toss from Nikita. Luger continues begging but Nikita hits the Russian Sickle, sending Luger to the floor. Nikita sends Luger into the corner post and now Luger is bleeding too. Luger and Nikita trade shots in the ring.
Nikita has momentum though, side headlock with the referee being wiped out by a flying shoulder tackle. Eye-poke by Luger. Nikita is whipped to the buckle but explodes out with The Russian Sickle!!! Nikita has the pin, there is no referee though. Nikita wants a referee up. Another ref storms to the ring. Luger knees Nikita in the back and covers for two. Nikita goes for the sickle but Luger ducks and Koloff hits the other referee!!!
The fans buzz as we see Ivan Koloff make his way to ringside watching on. Jimmy Hart climbs the ringapron and takes Koloffs chain off the turnbuckles. Madusa climbs up and grabs Hart by the neck! Hart tosses the chain to Nikita...... but Luger intercepts it! Luger nails Nikita with the chain and the Russian Nightmare goes down! Madusa knocks Hart off the ringapron. Luger covers Nikita, 1.......2........ somebody pulls Luger off Nikita and out of the ring. Its........ The Bolshevics....... Boris Zuchuv and Nicolai Volkoff! This brings out, The G-Club, Rick Rude and Jesse Ventura, who attack the Bolshevics! Those 4 men brawl around ringside and to the backstage area as the ref calls for the bell, ruling this bout a no contest! That doesn't sit well with Nikita who clotheslines Luger over the top rope and to the floor, where Madusa is waiting. She hands Luger the NWA World title as they make their way backstage through a very hostile audience.
LANCE RUSSELL:" OH MY NGOODNESS! That was one wild and wooly bout and the way this entire night went, then i was not a surprise and what a great night for not only the great people of Russia but for the NWA ! Although i doubt President Putin was very happy about that main event outcome !
