Progress Wrestling #28 Gm1c0YQ

The show opens up inside the Progress Arena and then we see.......

Progress Wrestling #28 Ct9Wil9

Pat McAfee: "Good evening wrestling fans! And welcome to Progress Wrestling! Pat McAfee here in the Progress Wrestling control center for some quick announcements.  We all know that Valentines Day is right around the corner. And everyone knows that wrestling is for lovers! So in three weeks, Progress Wrestling will present....... Broken Hearts!"

Progress Wrestling #28 NM1jT93

Pat McAfee: "And as tonight's show progresses, we will be announcing some huge matches for that show. But because I'm all for giving the people what the want, I'm going to announce one match right now. A rematch from two weeks ago..... as "The American Nightmare " Cody Rhodes looks for revenge against the Olympic Gold Medalist...... Kurt Angle!"

Progress Wrestling #28 OI9bBLM

Pat McAfee: "I have lots more announcements coming for that big show, but it's time to focus on tonight's show. And we are going to kick things off with this banger of a match......."

Match One: Will Ospreay vs Zack Sabre Jr

Match opened with a prolonged feeling-out sequence, with neither guy getting a clear upper hand for some time. As the match progressed, Ospreay would gain small leads with a strike, but ZSJ would answer with a hold. In order to break through ZSJ's defense, Ospreay approached with springboards and handsprings. ZSJ still caught Ospreay time after time, not letting him get through with more than a move or two.

After a struggle, Ospreay was able to prop ZSJ onto the top rope, where he delivered three shot kicks. Ospreay was able to capitalize, and landed a falcon arrow and twisting press from the top rope for a nearfall.

Ospreay attempted a second falcon arrow, but ZSJ reversed and turned his attention to Ospreay's arm. ZSJ's lead was cut short by a sudden Spanish fly, which reset the match.

A few seconds of rolling on the mat allowed ZSJ to retake his lead. ZSJ landed a tiger driver for a nearfall. Ospreay tried to answer with an OsCutter, but ZSJ caught him in an armbar. Ospreay powered through, turning the submission into a powerbomb.

Ospreay hit an OsCutter, a hidden blade, and a Stormbreaker, but ZSJ kicked out. Both men then fought to the top rope, where ZSJ used headbutts to rock Ospreay. From the top, ZSJ pulled Ospreay into an armbar, hitting a Zack driver once Ospreay wiggled free. To follow up, ZSJ kicked Ospreay in the head. Ospreay managed to catch a kick, leading to a quick back-and-forth that ended with a hidden blade. Ospreay then hit an OsCutter from the top rope.

Ospreay ran at ZSJ, getting caught in another armbar. Again, Ospreay powered through, hitting a powerbomb to break the hold. Ospreay hit another hidden blade and a Stormbreaker to win the match. As the replay is shown, Ospreay grabs the housemic......

Progress Wrestling #28 RNnlyPz

Will Ospreay: "When I arrived here not too long ago..... I made my intentions perfectly clear.... I want to be known as the best wrestler in the sport today. And to be able to do that, you have to be a world champion. And that's a goal I bloody well achieving. And it starts with wins like the one I just got over Sabre here and finishes with Jay White! As soon as i........"

PAC: "Good for you Ospreay.... you have goals. Everyone should have them. I will tell you what else you have though. You have a problem! And that problem  is me! Because I just left McAfee office.... and come February 14th...... he thinks it will be a great idea for me and you to hook it up! So lace up those boots real tight and bring your goals too..... because The Bastard Pac plans on breaking your heart!"

Progress Wrestling #28 DbBiYt0

***COMMERCIAL BREAK ***

Doug Williams  vs Samoa Joe w/Don Callis

Joe is the aggressor early on as Williams does a nice job of fending off the attack. They trade control on the mat and neither man is able to generate an advantage. Joe hits a delayed vertical suplex. Williams lays in repeated knees to the face and takes Joe down to the mat with a judo throw. He starts working over Joe’s left arm. Williams tries for some pretty grotesque submissions until Joe eventually comes back with his STO out of the corner. Joe follows with a german suplex and a powerbomb. He transitions into an STF. Williams reaches the ropes and goes right back to work on the left arm. He comes off the top rope with a knee strike. Joe creates some space with an enzuigiri and adds a lariat. Joe blocks Chaos Theory and applies the coquina clutch to get the submission win.

Progress Wrestling #28 HYM8LeU

Renee Young: "Wrestling fans, joining me at this time...... Sting and "The Total Package " Lex Luger! Guys alot going on around the NWA. Sting, you have found yourself right in the middle of things and have mow been ranked the #1 Contender to the NWA National title held by Razor Ramon! And While we are talking #1 Contenders,  Lex, you have been placed as the #1 Contender to the NWA World title!

Progress Wrestling #28 GDZcoe2

Lex Luger: "Its an honor to be the number one Contender to that NWA World title! And that only means one thing..... Seth Rollins...... you better believe "The Total Package" is coming for you sooner, than later!"

Renee Young: "Lex, your also entered into the America's Cup tournament! Now being the #1 ranked Contender surely puts a bullseye on your back as anyone you may face in the tournament will be looking to defeat you and possibly take that #1 Contender spot from you, starting with your first round opponent in the tournament..... Bruiser Brody!"

Lex Luger: "WHAT???? BRODY?? I drew Brody in the first round! Jesus, who made these matchups?"

Renee Young: "That, I have no answer for! But Sting it doesn't get any easier for you either. You have to be heartbroken after making to the Semi-Finals of the NJPW Heavyweight title tournament, and losing to Minoru Suzuki? Which I'm no means trying to stir the pot here, but some people are saying you lost that match because of your best friend...... Lex Luger!"

Lex Luger: "Now hold on right there! I didn't do anything wrong in that match. Sting clearly made a mistake in that match and overshot his Stinger Splash and busted his head open on the steel post. What was I supposed to do? I was concerned for his well being! You reporters need to stop making trouble where there is none!"

Renee Young: "Well we still haven't got to hear from Sting yet. Sting, as I was saying , from the unfortunate loss at Road to Wrestle Kingdom to the loss last week against AJ Styles where yet again, foul play raised its head when Lex and Styles seemed to be having a tug of war over the Progress Heavyweight title and you being hit in the head with it?"

Sting: "I guess you can say my head has taken a pounding lately..... I've been hit with a Heavyweight title belt..... had my bell rung by a steel post ..... and all the while wondering just what's going on with me and Luger! So yea..... I have one big freaking headache from it all!"

Lex Luger: "Stinger...... I can explain! Styles had the belt..... it was clear he was going to blast you with it. I did my best to stop him! You gotta believe me!"

This brings in the Progress Heavyweight champion..... AJ Styles!

Progress Wrestling #28 Ps92hY1

AJ Styles: "Well, well, well..... yet another week goes by in this strange plot you two have going on. Mow Sting, you can sit here and listen to all Lugers excuses that you want to! Personally I'm tired of hearing them! I tried telling you......"

Sting: "ENOUGH ALREADY! BOTH OF YOU! I want both of you to listen very closely..... I have a flight to catch to Tokyo! I'm facing Razor Ramon this weekend for the NWA National title! I don't want to see either one of you until I get back!"

Sting leaves the interview area. Luger and Styles have a small staredown without saying a word, then Luger leaves as well. Then we see......

Progress Wrestling #28 G8It0Ih

Don Callis: "AJ.... How many times do I have to tell you..... stop worrying about Sting and Luger? You have way bigger problems coming your way!"

AJ Styles: "You know something Callis, you have gotten in my face one too many times talking about the trouble I have coming! Why don't you tell whoever it is that I'm ready anytime they are!"

Don Callis: "I will do you one better! Why don't you tell him yourself?"

In walks Samoa Joe!

Progress Wrestling #28 CGDjlhm

Don Callis: "Meet your challenger for Broken Hearts, champ!"

Joe stares a hole right through AJ as we go to break!

***COMMERCIAL BREAK ***

Match Three: Hangman Page  vs Brian Cage

Cage goes after Page early on with a display of power, laying into Hangman in the corner before Hangman fights back…only to be dropped by Cage with a shoulder tackle. Cage back on the attack until he’s sent to the apron, where Page drops him with a lariat…but Cage catches a cross body attempt, only to take a hurricanrana into the ring post!

Page back in the ring, hitting a springboard cross body onto Cage on the floor. Page heads back into the ring but is met by a returning Cage…only to be sent into the ropes by Hangman, who hits a tiger feint kick on the Machine! Before he can follow up on this however, Page is interrupted by the arrival of Dr. D David Schultz which allows Cage to go back on the attack with a massive German suplex off the apron back into the ring as security escort Shultz from the ringside area.

Cage is firmly in control here as he wears down Hangman some more, finally bringing Page back into the ring. Page sent to the corner as Cage lays in some hard strikes followed by a pump kick, pulling Page in for a nearfall before cinching in a chinlock. Page fights back to his feet and escapes the hold, but Cage is right back on him.

Cage with a half nelson slam but only gets a nearfall for his efforts, before Cage taunts the crowd. Page is back on his feet as the two men trade blows, with Cage getting the upper hand…until Page avoids a clothesline! Only he falls into a powerslam by Cage, who goes up for a moonsault…only for Page to roll out of harm’s way! Cage is back on his feet but so is Page, and we’re back to something of a standstill between both men. Page dodges another clothesline attempt before sending him over the top rope, both men leaving to the floor outside!

Hangman up on the ropes for a springboard, but is caught in mid-air…only for Page to catch him with a crucifix pin! Cage kicks out and rolls to the outside as Page gets back to his feet…and hits a baseball slide dropkick on Cage! Page up on the top turnbuckle as Cage stands back up…and Hangman with some hangtime on a moonsault! Cage gets back in the ring and Page hits a cross body but only gets a nearfall.

Cage sends Page on a ride with a German suplex, and Hangman heads to the apron where Cage tries to get a suplex…only to get dropped by Page! Hangman setting up for a Buckshot Lariat…but gets caught with an F5! NO! Page with a small package…BUT CAGE KICKS OUT! Page adjusts, pulling Cage in for the Dead Eye…and gets the pin and the win!

Progress Wrestling #28 MTx62Zb

Hangman Page: "Seems like tonight is a good time to make a statement.... I'm going to make this real short and sweet! February 6th..... America's Cup..... Jerry Lawler, it's going to be an honor getting to share that ring with you. May the best man win! I'm by no way, looking past you, but onto you David Schultz! Seems you aren't real happy with me pinning your shoulders to the mat recently! That's fine by me! I know what you want! Your looking for a fight! So how about this? At Broken Hearts, on Valentines Day..... you and me in a Texas Death match!!! It's time to do some Cowboy Shit!"

***COMMERCIAL BREAK ***

We come back from break and see Renee Young with Gary Hart!

Renee Young: "Gary, last week we seen Vader defeat the former NWA World tv champion,  Chris Adams. But after the match your team, The Hart Foundation double teamed Adams until the arrival and surprise to everyone..... Gino Hernandez made the save!"

Progress Wrestling #28 GyDArr7

Gary Hart: "Simply put, Gino Hernandez has put his nose in business that doesn't concern him. And soon enough, we will deal with that. But right now we have bigger fish to fry. Imagine it Renee,  The #1 ranked British Bulldogs..... the NJPW tag team champions, facing the #2 ranked Progress Wrestling tag team champions, this weekend at the Tokyo Dome! The last time they met, they went 30 minutes! This weekend my Hart Foundation will emerge victorious. And what should happen after the top two ranked tag teams face each other? Quite simple.... after we defeat the Bulldogs, we are making it official..... we want Patera and Blackwell on February 17th, in Toronto Canada! A Homecoming if you will for my team! And they can't think of a better place than Canada to take those NWA World titles!"

Match Four: Darby Allin  vs Randy Orton

Joey Styles hypes this being Darbys debut here in Progress. The two locked horns and Orton quickly backed Darby into the corner. Orton missed a punch and Darby arm dragged him to the mat and slapped on an arm bar. Orton tossed him off with a whip but Darby countered back with two more arm drags and then right back to the arm bar.

Orton pushed Darby back into the ropes and hit some punches and his inverted back breaker to gain the advantage. Orton whipped through the Garvin stomp and went for a cover but only got a two count. Orton rolled Darby over into a Boston Crab and sat down to put on some pressure. Darby reached the ropes and Orton milked the five count.

Darby fought back with some punches before Orton hit a kick to the gut and came looking for a clothesline but Darby sidestepped and hit a clothesline. Darby followed up with two more clotheslines and a cork screw  before going for a cover. Darby came off the ropes with the Coffin Drop but Orton catches him and hits an RKO OUTTA NOWHERE!!

Shawn Michaels came running down to ringside and distracted the proceedings. He threw a chair into the ring that Orton used quickly to get himself disqualified. DARBY ALLIN DEFEATS ORON VIA DQ IN HIS DEBUT MATCH! Orton bails the ring as HBK takes the housemic......

Progress Wrestling #28 EYhskKX

HBK: Alot of stuff going on around the NWA right now. Ya got Wrestle Kingdom this weekend. The NWA World tour kicking off. The America's Cup tournament and oh yea..... Broken Hearts coming up on Valentines Day! But let's focus in on the America's Cup  shall we? A tournament yours truly would of liked to be in. But instead I lost the Qualifier to Randy Orton! And I gotta tell ya..... that doesn't set well inside me! Might even say it hurt my ego a little. Now I know that Randy Orton has to face Nick Bockwinkle in the first round if the America's Cup! And the funny thing to do would be to show up during that match and hit Randy with Sweet Chin Music, and screwing him outta the tourny. I could do that! Orrrrr..... I could just live rent free in Randy's head, making him wonder when I'm gonna get him. I could also do that! But instead...... I'm just gonna challenge you to a match at Broken Hearts on Valentines Day! Because who knows anything more about Broken Hearts than "The Heartbreak Kid" himself?"

***COMMERCIAL BREAK ***

Main Event: The Steiner Brothers vs The Lucha Brothers

They shake hands to start things off and both Fenix and Scott begin the match. Scott scores an amateur take-down and controls Fenix on the mat for a bit. Fenix escapes and then scores a take-down of his own but Scott gets a ropebreak. They lock-up again and Scott lands an easy overhead suplex but Fenix wrestles out and then lands a fireman’s carry. The two continue chain wrestling on the mat until Fenix escapes once more and tags Pentagon but then so too does Rick.

Rick lives up to his nickname “the dog faced gremlin” for a moment and bites Penta’s hip. Then he gets serious and starts grappling and then tags Scott, who hits an overhead belly-to-belly suplex that causes Penta to bail and then tag Fenix. There’s some more technical wrestling and countering on the mat with various holds and exchanges until Fenix gets a ropebreak to escape a sort of grounded camel clutch/leglock combo.

Fenix shoots Scott into the ropes but Scott knocks him down and then lands a butterfly suplex slam. Penta tries interfering but Rick cuts him off and both Steiners hit stereo overhead military presses. The Lucha Bros  get a breather as the Steiners pose in the ring and then Fenix chops Scott into his corner and tags Penta who dumps Scott onto the entrance ramp and hits a snap suplex onto it. Penta dashes up the ramp, gets a huge running start, and lands a big running clothesline much to the crowd’s delight. Then he suplexes an interfering Rick and Fenix does the same running clothesline to him.

Back in the ring Penta locks in a figure-4 leglock and rolls over to tag Fenix while the hold is still on. The two wrestlers hit double knee smashers and then Fenix hits several Indian deathlock drops followed by a Muta lock. Penta tags back in and he and Fenix hit double leg stretches. Penta follows with a heel hook/toe hold-type move but Scott counters, only for Fenix to tag in again. Fenix hits some chops but Scott no-sells and counters into a dragon suplex.

Rick tags in but the ref makes him back off for a moment to check on Fenix. When he gives Rick the OK, Rick hits a Dominator press into a corner but then Fenix fights back. Fenix chops Rick into his corner and tags Pentagon, who hits his snapmare/flashing elbow combo followed by a short arm scissor. Rick counters that hold with an impressive deadlift overhead suplex but Fenix tags in and lands an uranage. Fenix goes for a top-rope dive but Scott holds him in place long enough for Rick to land an avalanche belly-to-belly suplex.

Scott tags in, hits Fenix with a lariat, knocks Pentagon off the apron, and then lands a tilt-a-whirl side slam on Fenix for a two-count. Then Scott yells “he ain’t getting up from this one” and puts Fenix in position for a vertical suplex and spikes Fenix with a Steiner Screwdriver!

Rick knocks Pentagon off the top rope and the crowd roars as Scott tries picking up whatever’s left of Fenix. Scott kicks Pentagon away and charges for a running lariat. Fenix ducks once and then somehow remains standing as Scott hits two running lariats. Scott charges again. Fenix counters with two more uranages. 1....... 2.......Scott kicks out.

Penta tags in and runs wild on both Steiners. He lands a back body drop and a dropkick on Scott, then tags Fenix, and the two of them hit a double dropkick. Pentagon knocks Rick to the floor and hits a plancha as Fenix nails Scott with a bridging German suplex for another two-count. Bridging northern lights suplex. 1......2...... Rick saves his brother. Pentagon tags in and hits his corner handspring/bulldog combo. Rick stops a dragon suplex but Fenix takes care of him. Pentagon lands a rib breaker followed by a snap moonsault. 1...... 2...... Scott survives. Penta charges to the ropes…and runs into a standing Frankensteiner from Scott. The crowd goes nuts as both Fenix and Rick tag in. Rick knocks Fenix down and then hits a walking overhead press slam for a two-count. He follows with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker and then drops Pentagon. Then the Steiners hit a Doomsday DDT on Fenix  and double shoulder tackles on Fenix. That’s followed by a Doomsday Bulldog. Penta jumps from the top rope to try and break up the cover. But he’s one second too late as Scott gets the three-count.

Progress Wrestling #28 R8rnpmi

Joey Styles: "The Steiners come away victorious in one hell of a tag team encounter! What a way to top off an incredible night here in Progress Wrestling! Fans, it may be freezing balls outside, but the action is hotter than ever here in Progress! Can you imagine if these two teams have a rematch? OHHHHH...... MY GAWD!"

Man , I could watch Pac vs Osprey all day . That is gonna be a great match . Would love to see them have one of those classic battle feuds .

Keep that push on Joe .

Luger worried about Brody . Lol

Is Sting finally seeing the light ?!?

I like all the mystery surrounding with Callis ,

A good promo by Page . Honestly you write for him better than what he is in real life . That’s saying something .

Tell the Hart Foundation the World Tag Team Champs aren’t hard to find .

HBK seems like he’s gonna be a pain in Orton’s ass .

Hell of a tag match .

Great show
