WCW Nitro #53

The show opens up and we instantly see WCW General Manager,  Eric Bischoff making his way towards the ring.....




  Eric Bischoff: "Last week was supposed to have been the biggest show in WCW history! The Year 1 Anniversary show. We saw Keith Lee defeat Barry Windham for the WCW TV Title! We seen a new IWA World champion crowned in Dusty Rhodes! Britt Baker defeating the Baddest Woman on the Planet..... Ronda Rousey! And on any other night, that show would of been one of my proudest achievements. But instead, it was the most embarrassing night of my life! And I owe Adam Cole and Tony Khan for it! You guys think your just gonna come in here and throw the WCW Heavyweight title down and walk out? Think again! You guys are gonna pay soon enough. But before I can get there, I have business to get to. And we are gonna start with this WCW Heavyweight title. Which is currently vacant! And it will remain that way until June 6th at WCW's Summer Sizzler show! On that night 6 men will compete inside Elimination Chamber..... and the winner of that match will be the new WCW Heavyweight champion! We will have qualifying matchups right here next week!

Now one more thing before I go! Tony Khan.....you aren't the only one who has some pull with Gorilla Monsoon! I went to his office and he has granted me a match on June 12th at Razorback Stadium. And I challenge anybody in the AEW to a match! That's right...... AEW vs WCW!!! One on one! That is......if anyone there has the balls to accept! I will be waiting for your answer!"

   Match One: Chris Adams & Terry Taylor vs Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard for the WCW Tag Team Titles         

Blanchard starts out with Taylor and Taylor hits the ropes. Anderson gets a knee to the back from the outside, but Taylor fires out of the corner. All four men end up inside and Adams and Taylor sends the Horsemen to the floor with a double dropkick. Anderson is back in with Taylor and gets driven into the mat for a one count. Taylor gets caught in a leg scissor from Anderson, but turns it over into a Boston Crab. Blanchard gets a thumb to the eyes to break that up and tags in. Adams comes in with a tag as well and locks in a figure four on Blanchard. Anderson comes in to break it up, but Taylor is there to meet him and he locks in a figure four as well. Eventually the holds are broken and Adams gets a backslide on Tully which Anderson breaks up. Adams gets a small package on Tully for two. Taylor comes in with a tag as Adams hits the ropes, and Blanchard moves out of the way of a flying forearm sending Taylor to the floor. Anderson tags in and the Horsemen begin to punish Adams, who gets sent into the ropes, and hits a sunset flip, but Anderson tags out. Blanchard comes in and whips Adams into the corner, but Adams comes off the second rope with a crossbody for two. Anderson tags in and slaps on a reverse chinlock. Adams comes up and whips Anderson to the corner, but a charge meets Anderson’s knee. Arn goes to the top, but gets slammed off by Adams. Adams crawls for the tag, but Taylor  is still down on the floor so hes not there for the tag. Blanchard comes in and gives Adams a stun gun. Anderson continues the assault on Adams in the ring with a spinebuster. Tag to Tully who gets Adams stuck in the corner. Adams fights back temporarily, but Blanchard blocks a monkey flip to regain control. Anderson tags in and Tully goes up for the spike piledriver but Taylor rushes in and hits a 5-Arm to Blanchard,  knocking him off the turnbuckles and to the floor as Adams hooks Arns leg into a schoolboy rollup for the pinfall. Adams asks Taylor where he was earlier in the match as the Horsemen are super frustrated with yet another Horsemen loss.

Match Two: Kerry Von Erich vs Iron Mike Sharpe             

Kerry gets a nice ovation as he makes his WCW debut. They trade armdrags to start. Slam by Kerry and stops to pose. Dropkick by Kerry, and then he hits Sharpe with the discus punch followed by the iron claw to get the win.





  Gene Okerlund: "OHHHHH MY!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW?? Quite the impressive debut for one Kerry Von Erich!"  




Kerry Von Erich: "Thank you Gene! It's good to be back in the squared circle! I recently took some time off to refind myself! I did some things lately that I can't say I'm proud of. Because that's not who I really am! So I went home back to the ranch and had a heart to heart with my Father and we got back to basics. Started working even harder in the gym. And I'm proud to be back in the greatest state of all......the great state of Texas! The Modern Day Warrior is coming for gold baby!"

   Match Three: Keith Lee vs Timothy Thatcher for the WCW TV Title    

Thatcher ensuring that Lee doesn’t get in much of his high flying spots, attacks Lee before the bell. Thatcher dominated by just beating the hell out of Lee with one brutal strike after another. Lee, being a big boy, manages to endure it all to force Thatcher to keep thinking up ways to inflict pain. Lee would eventually get in some offense before the pair got involved in a strike off. Thatcher would come out of it a woozy mess following a headbutt. A Fireman’s Carry into a back elbow would score Lee the victory to retain his title. As the replay is being shown, Lee grabs the housemic......





   Keith Lee: "Last week, I got the biggest win of my career, over one of the greatest wrestlers to ever lace up a pair of boots in Barry Windham, to capture this WCW TV Title! And what this title means to me is that I'm the very best wrestler on WCW television! And I heard an old saying once.....and I believe it to be true.....that a champion is only as good as his challengers! And I plan on being a fighting champion, defending this title every chance I get. Against anyone.....at any time! But believe me.....if you come for this title......you will.....Bask.....in my......Glory!"

We come back from break and see Eric Bischoff in the back looking for someone. Bischoff looks to have found who he is looking for as he takes a deep breathe and we see......




   Eric Bischoff: "We need to talk! You had some fun at my expense at the Year 1 show, hitting me with the stunner! And ya know what? I'm not even mad about it! Let's let bygones be bygones! Start fresh! Shall we? But there is something you can help me with! See I'm sure you heard that on June 12th it's gonna be WCW against AEW! And I can't think of anyone better to represent WCW than The Texas Rattlesnake!"       


  Steve Austin: "Lemme get this straight! You want me? Stone Cold to represent WCW in a match against AEW? Is that what I'm hearing?"          

  Eric Bischoff: "Well, yes. Thats....."        

  Steve Austin: "SHUTUP!! You think after the cold shoulder you have gave me that I give two shots what you want? I should of had that world title match against Flair at Year 1.....not Dusty! But instead he rode in and took my spot and won the damned title! And now you have me placed in some #1 contender tournament where I drew Kurt Angle in the first round! I'm the damned #1 contender to the belt,  but I gotta jump through hoops in some damned tournament but you need my help against AEW? I really don't give a rats ass what you need! From here on, Steve Austin does things for Steve Austin! So you can kiss my ass! And unless you want me to stun your sorry ass once again.....you can get the hell out of my dressing room! And that's the bottom line.....CAUSE STONE COLD SAID SO!"    




Match Four: Hardcore Country (Mickie James & Rebel) vs The IIspiration (Peyton Royce & Bille Kay)                 

Billie Kay starts against Rebel. Peyton Royce tags in, but Rebel quickly takes them out. Rebel slams Royce down and hits double knees to the midsection. Mickie tags in and attacks, but Kay breaks up the pin. While the action stays hot and heavy, we see a woman watching on close to ringside. Its.........




Mandy Rose!

Back in the ring Mickie reverses a whip and avoids a kick. Kay blind tags in, but Mickie sees it and attacks. Kay quickly attacks Mickie and hits a suplex for a two count. Rebel tags in and slaps away at Kay before dropkicking her. Rebel puts Billie Kay in the Rebel Yell (Modified figure-four headscissors)  but Royce breaks it up. Mickie gets Royce out of the ring. Kay big boots her down. Rebel punches Kay in the face and sets her up. Rebel hits FBG..... Flying Booty Guillotine (Split-legged diving leg drop) to get the win! As Hardcore Country celebrate, we see Mandy Rose take her leave. 


   Gene Okerlund: "How about that impressive win for a team we are being told named Hardcore Country! Ladies, just last week you made it to the finals of the GFW Womens tag team title tournament,  before losing to Tall and Sexy! A pretty impressive feat for a team that hasn't been together very long!"      





Mickie James: "That's right Gene, and it's just the beginning for us! We came up a little short, but we learned something about Kamille and Raquel Gonzalez at the same time! And with Summer Sizzler right around the corner, we would love a rematch! It's time to make this Summer, a little Hardcore!"

As we return from break we see the IWA World tag team champions, Black Wallstreet in the ring.....




Bad News Brown: "Ever since Survivor Series all we been hearing about is people talking about these two chumps Big Van Vader and Bam Bam Bigelow! Once again just another attempt of the man trying to keep the spotlight off of us!"   

  Butch Reed: "I even heard those suckas saying they want a shot at our world titles! But I ain't impressed! You boys wanna impress me? Come on out here and let's see what you can do against our boys.....the Zambui Express!"         






As the Zambui get in the ring, the anticipation begins to rise from the live audience as the Zambui keep yelling for Vader and Bigelow to come out. And after a few seconds, they get their wish as Vader and Bigelow Storm the ring and the fight is on! Bigelow rocks Elijah with a huge flying shoulder tackle, srnding him flying out of the ring! Vader hits a powerslam on Kareem! Vader climbs the ropes and hits a Vader splash on Muhammad. Bigelow goes out on the ring apron as Vader grabs Muhammad AND POWERBOMBS HIM!! BIGELOW SPRINGS OVER THE TOP ROPE ONTO MUHAMMAD FOR THE PINFALL!!! Vader and Bigelow stand strong in the ring as Estrada takes the housemic......





Armando Estrada: "Excuse....please! My name is ARMANDO.......ALEJANDRO........ESSSSSTRADDDDDA! And I represent the most destructive force in all of pro wrestling...... Big Van Vader and Bam Bam Bigelow! And I have here in my possession a signed contract for this coming Friday Night at Global Force Wrestling's In Too Deep show where my Bulldozers will face ju.... Black Wallstreet...... for the IWA World tag titles!"  


The fans pop as Reed and Bad News watch on with a look of fear and concern on their faces as the grasp their titles a little harder as we head to break!

We come back from break and see the 4 Horsemen making their way to the ring.......







  Ric Flair: "There's been a lot of talk lately about the 4 Horsemen and the so called slump we are in! We hear the talk.....people saying we don't have it anymore! We aren't the force we once was! But just look back in history of any great dynasty.....whether it be The Lakers......the 49ers........or even the Yankees......they all at one time was known as the greatest going! Did the win them all? Not even close! But did the bounce back and rekindle the greatness? Ha-ha.....you better believe it Brother! And much like all those great dynasties, the Horsemen are one of a kind. And while you may look at us now and not see any gold around our waists..... don't get use to it, because we are........"         







Flair looks to be annoyed by the appearance and interruption from MJF as he makes his way into the ring.......








  MJF: "Cut my music.....cut my music! Look at what we have here......the 4 Horsemen! The most legendary unit of all time!  I stand here and look at you four guys and tons of childhood memories come to mind! I can remember being 16 years old and wanting to be just like Ric Flair! The Nature Boy! The legend! The Man!"          

 Ric Flair: "I appreciate your respect! But right now this is about us. And as flattering as you are.....as you can see.....there's already four of us! There's no room for another guy! Now if you will excuse us."          

  MJF: "Join you? You must of misunderstood.... why would I want to join a bunch of has-been men who can't cut the mustard anymore? See before you interrupted me, I was going to say that as great as you used to be....I'm embarrassed to be standing in the same ring with you right now! I mean let's start with Windham. You have been Keith Lee's Bitch for the past month!

And I see you staring at me old man Arn! Look at you and Tully?  When's the last time you won a match? And your supposed to be the Enforcer of the group? You couldn't whip cream...... let alone win a match! 

And that leaves you Flair! Your a joke! A shell of your old self. I mean who loses to a guy like that tub of lard, Dusty Rhodes? You guys know what happens to horses once they hit your age don't ya? They take em out and shoot em!"        

  Arn Anderson: "Enough! If you think I'm just gonna stand here and let you insult me and these fine Gentlemen, your crazy as all get out! I've heard all about ya kid..... the next big thing in this business. But as you stand there across from me all I see is a young punk who is still green as shit! And Ray Charles could see that there's 4 of us out here......and only one of you!"        


MJF: "Now hold up.....hold up! Let's calm down here. Let cooler heads prevail, shall we? But do me a solid......when you talk to MJF..... who just happens to be the longest reigning champion in the entire IWA.....You put some respect in my name!"             

  Arn Anderson: "If you want my respect, you will have to beat it out of me!"            

Ric Flair: "Hold up Arn! He's not worth it! He's just another kid out here trying to ride our coattails. Let's go guys. We have business to get to!"  

  MJF: "RIGHT THERE! THATS MY ENTIRE POINT! The Ric Flair and 4 Horsemen I grew up watching wouldn't let a guy like me come out here and say what I have. The old Flair would of slapped my face while the rest of the Horsemen jumped on me! Pathetic! So yea.....go on and leave.....I would be ashamed to show my face too! Bunch of old hasbeens!"           



Flair goes to leave the ring then stops, turns around and punches MJF in the mouth! Flair stings MJF with jabs as MJF retreats to the corner! Flair then lights him up with his signature chops! The other Horsemen go to help Flair, but Flar stops them and says no, he has this! Flair whips MJF into the ropes and back body drops him! Flair kneels over MJF and rains down punches until Wardlow rushes into the ring knocking Flair off MJF. Barry Windham fires into Wardlow! As that's going on, two men jump the barricade and attack Arn and Tully! Its........It's.........








Steve Williams & Terry Gordy!!!



Williams takes Tully down with an amateur move take down and puts the boots to him before hitting a nasty belly to back German suplex. Gordy has attacked Arn and has put the Oriental Spike on him. Wardlow drives a knee into Windhams midsection before hitting his Powerbomb Symphony on him. Now the numbers game catches up with Flair as MJF instructs Doc to suplex Flair. Then Wardlow hits the Powerbomb Symphony on Flair! Gordy still has Arn in the Spike and we can see blood coming out of Arns mouth! Wardlow pounds away at Windham some more as Doc and Gordy hold Flairs arms as MJF begins slapping Flairs face!  Then they drop Flairs limp body and MJF puts Flair in Salt of the Earth! Flair screams out in pain before officials come to his aid and MJF releases the hold and takes the housemic......


  MJF: "Look at those piles of shit! Take a good look people! That's wrestlings past! Old and decrepit! The Horsemen are dead! And there's a new group in town! The Pinnacle!! And we run things here in WCW now! And there's not a damned thing you can do about it. Because We Are Better Than You...... And You Know It!"
