WCW Nitro #77

       



As the show opens up, out comes the IWA X Division champion to a loud chorus of boos. One particular fan sitting ringside catches MJF's eyes with a "MJF SUCKS" sign.....





MJF: Oh i suck huh? Go ask your Mom how many human beings she has swallowed then ask me who really sucks! For the past two weeks now, I have been asked the same question numerous times by you marks! Who will I be facing at Wrestle Kingdom for the most glorious title in professional wrestling? And the answer is...... absolutely no one! You see, not only is our IWA President incompetent in doing his job by putting Jungle Boy in a match he wasn't supposed to be in, now the big goof hasn't even found a replacement for him. And actually that comes as no surprise because I wouldn't want to face me either!"  







The fans pop as Edge makes his way to the ring!




 Edge: "Whats the matter Max? You don't seem thrilled to see me? Look, I know your a real busy guy and all so I won't keep you long! I just wanted to say since your free for Wrestle Kingdom, why don't ya put that title on the line...... against me?"          

 MJF: "Ya know Edge, your just like this Jaoanese guy..... what's his name? Jade Dragon or something like that? Who just shows up out of nowhere and wants title shots! And much like him, neither of you have done nothing to deserve it! But your right about one thing..... I am a busy man! And I value my time. So when someone like you wastes my time. Well..... you must pay for it. So ya wanna match? Here's your guy....... Wardlow, you know what to do!"                



Wardlow makes his way to the ring and we have an impromptu match!



  Match One: Edge vs Wardlow              

Edge attacked Wardlow with punches followed by a knee lift. Wardlow countered with an eye gouge and knocked down Edge. Wardlow  with a forearm followed by a stomp on the ribs. Wardlow drove his knee to the face of Edge. Wardlow rocked Edge with a forearm followed by some choking on the middle rope. Edge came back with a boot to the ribs followed by the Edgecution DDT for a two count. Edge charged with Wardlow countering the charge into a powerslam. Wardlow  tossed Edge shoulder first into the ring post with Edge bumping to the floor. Wardlow whipped Edge shoulder first into the steel steps.

Wardlow remaining in control as he stomped on Edge. Wardlow connected with some punches leading to Edge hitting one punch to knock Wardlow down. Edge hit the running clothesline on Wardlow. Edge went up top, Wardlow met him with punches and tried a superplex, but Edge knocked him down with a headbutt. Edge hit a clothesline off the top for a two count. Wardlow tried to hit a cutter  but Edge hit the sitout neckbreaker for a two count. Wardlow was on the apron and Edge hit a running shoulder tackle to the back of him to send Wardlow into the barricade. Edge brought him back into the ring, but Wardlow left out of the other side of the ring. But what Wardlow didn't see was "The Macho Man" Randy Savage! Savage grabbed Wardlow and threw him back into the ring. Wardlow gets up and looks out to Savage. Macho tells Wardlow to turn around....... and he is met with a spear from Edge! 1...... 2.......3! Savage leaves the ringside area as Edge celebrates his win.

 Match Two: Taryn Terrell vs Awesome Kong              

Taryn goes right at Kong, only to bounce off the monster and hit the mat. Kong keeps pounding away and slams her down, only to miss a charge in the corner. Some right hands stun Kong for a few moments but the Taryn Cutter is shrugged off. Kong powerbombs Terrell to the mat but doesnt cover her. Instead, she lifys Terrell up and hits an Implant Buster! Still, Kong wont cover her. The ref fears for Terrells safety and checks on hef but Kong grabs the referee and slings him away for the DQ! Kong stands over Terrell laughing!






  Jim Ross: "Fans, this Awesome Kong is just as nasty and dominant as they come. And I'm not taking a damned thing away from Rhea Ripley. But if you ask me, young Rhea could be in for the biggest fight of her career next week against Kong!"

We come back from break and see a vignette of a blonde headed lady working out..... then the same person riding a dirt bike, jumping over creek beds. Then the bike runs up close to the camera man, and the lady takes off her helmet to reveal........




 Lacey Evans: "We can accept the life we was brought up in, keep doing what we see around us and let it bring us down..... or we can break the cycle! See ya soon WCW!"            





 Match Three: Damian Priest vs John Morrison              

Priest and Morrison go back and forth for a few moments. Morrison sets up for Moonlight Drive, but Priest rolls him up but Morrison turns it into an inside cradle. Priest kicks out at one. Priest hits Hit the Lights for the win.








 Gene Okerlund: "OHHHHH MY!!! How about that victory? Damian Priest dies not get paid by the hour folks! And now next week during "The Hustle " Paul Heyman has selected you to face off once again against a man you know very well in Sammy Guevara!"      




 Damian Priest: "Ya know Gene, I don't know much about how next week works when Heyman Hustle takes over Nitro for the week! But if Heyman chooses me to be in a match, so be it! Ice said all along that......"          


Sammy Guevara enters the ring.


 Sammy Guevara: "Are you still trying to deny being in Heyman Hustle? It's just too obvious to me! First FTR helps you defeat me at Black Friday. Which you claim you know nothing about. And now Heyman just happens to want to see a rematch? Is this how your going to build your name up? By having those guys keep helping you to win?"            

 Damian Priest: "Honestly, I'm getting tired of repeating myself to you! I've told you..... I'm not in Heyman Hustle! And as far as how I will build my name up here in WCW goes..... I will show you first hand right here next week!"

  Match Four: Dakota Kai & Tegan Nox vs Madison Eagles &  Ivory              




Nox and Kai are making their WCW debuts here. Madison is 6’1 and dwarfs both opponents, so Dakota  hops on Nox shoulders to attempt a knucklelock. ROPE RUN lucha armdrag by Eagles! Ivory also shows some impressive early skill, It’s only when Dakota rakes her eyes that the NINJAs finally get the advantage. They isolate Ivory fir a whole before Dakota hits a superkick on Ivory that sends Ivory into a  brindging German suplex from Nox to get the win.

  Main Event: Sting vs Dean Malenko for the WCW Heavyweight title            

Malenko grabs a waistlock. Sting powers out, but Malenko backs away before he could make something of the counter. Malenko with a headlock, but a shoulder tackle doesn't move him. Criss-cross ends with Sting tossing Malenko across the ring with a press slam. Whip to the ropes, Malenko with a basement dropkick, followed by a flurry of kicks to the left knee. Malenko applying a leg scissors. Sting teases a comeback, but Malenko goes to the knee with another low dropkick. Malenko keeps working the knee. Malenko with a German Suplex for two. Sting hangs back to avoid a dropkick, sends Malenko to the corner, but misses a Stinger Splash. Malenko from the top with a missile dropkick. He crosses the legs for the Texas Cloverleaf, but Sting cradles him for the three count.






The Stinger celebrates his win as Jim Ross talks on commentary about Stings upcoming match in 3 days as he teams with the Undertaker to face the Islanders. And wonders if the IWA Heavyweight champion,  Ted DiBiase will be there as show fades to black!
