WE ARE GOING BACK TO CALI as AEW is back in its home state this week …. We get a HUGE pyro explosion from the stage as the camera pans 10,000 strong in the HONDA CENTER as ‘DANNY CALIFORNIA’ by the Red Hot Chili Peppers plays on the loudspeakers …. Anaheim, California … IS … ALL ELITE!!




‘TERMINUS’ is just one week away, and we join JOEY STYLES and PAT MCAFEE at the announce desk for a recap of AEW #48 …. Things are heating up heading into SURVIVOR SERIES, where last week we saw WALTER and STING battle it out …. THE ROCK made his return to AEW, distracting his cousin ROMAN REIGNS and costing him the AEW title match against SHAWN MICHAELS …. FTR continued to take out their competition, this time attacking the BRISCOE’s in the parking lot and slamming MARK BRISCOE’s hand in a car door …. In the main event, ADAM PAGE exorcised his demons by pinning MALAKAI BLACK in a steel cage match …. PAGE is now solely focused on facing SHAWN MICHAELS for the AEW title at Terminus ….


MATCH 1: (Champion) KENNY OMEGA vs. EDDIE GEURRERO ———— GFW NExtGen Title Match:These two battle it out in a classic that goes the entire 20 minute time limit ….

POST MATCH: The fans ask for 5 more minutes and it looks like EDDIE is willing to oblige but OMEGA takes his title and goes to the back ….


BACKSTAGE –

OMEGA cuts a promo when he comes through the curtain …. He didn’t agree to the additional time because these people got 20 minutes of KENNY OMEGA and that is all they get for free this week …. OMEGA makes a comment about how he has defended the GFW title on TV more times than AJ STYLES has defended the UNITED STATES title …. When you are as good as he is, people wonder what gets you out of bed in the morning … what motivates you? Well, it’s real simple. OMEGA says he is motivated by competition and putting on the best match possible …. He calls himself the Picasso of professional wrestling because all he produces is masterpieces …. He could have signed with any company in the world, but he chose to come to AEW because of names like AJ STYLES, CM PUNK, SHAWN MICHAELS, BRYAN DANIELSON … the very best …

In walks CM PUNK! PUNK sizes OMEGA up and down and then ‘Best Bout Machine huh?’ PUNK smirks and walks off ….


MATCH 2: CARMELLA w/ Awesome Kong vs. SARAH LOGAN ———— Singles Match:With KONG looking outside, CARMELLA dominates and wins with the Princess Kick ….

POST MATCH: CARMELLA celebrates but SASHA BANKS comes out of the crowd and hits a backstabber from behind on CARMELLA! KONG goes after BANKS but she slips free and escapes before she can get her ….


IN THE BACK –

QUINN MCKAY is outside the dressing room of THE ROCK …. THE ROCK comes out and the fans pop HUGE …. ROCK says that he told his mother that he would never fight a member of the family, but sometimes you got to stand up as a man …. ROMAN REIGNS wants to be the tribal chief, but he’s got to go through the ROCK to do it …. He can bring that black sheep with him, but the ROCK is bringing all the honor of their ancestors and he is going to set REIGNS straight ….



MATCH 3: HOUSE OF BLACK (Malakai Black & Brody King) vs. NEW DAY (Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston) ———— Tag Team Match:HOUSE OF BLACK attack before the bell, turning this match into pretty much a squash …. They hit KOFI with Dante’s Inferno to score the pin in under 3 minutes ….


IN THE BACK –

SCOTT STEINER & JAY BRISCOE talk about how they really don’t like each other, but FTR fucked up and hurt their brothers so now the enemy of my enemy is my friend …. JAY says they aren’t coming to sit around the campfire and sing cum-baya, they are coming to whoop ass ….



MATCH 4: (Champion) TESSA BLANCHARD vs. LIV MORGAN ———— AEW Women’s title Match:LIV turns in an impressive showing here, including getting several hope spots where it looks like she is about to win the title …. There is a ref bump, and LIV hits the ObLIVion and has the pin but there is no ref! CHARLOTTE is out and she hits LIV with the Natural Selection! TESSA doesn’t understand what just happened as she eyes CHARLOTTE warily, but she covers LIV and gets the 3 count ….

POST MATCH: CHARLOTTE gets in the ring and gets nose to nose with TESSA, but then turns and attacks LIV …. TESSA joins in until RHEA RIPLEY runs out of the back and makes the save with a steel chair ….



MATCH 5: FTR (Dax Hardwood & Cash Wheeler) w/ Dan Lambert vs. JAY BRISCOE & SCOTT STEINER ———— Non- Title Street Fight:The fighting starts as FTR makes their way to the ring and they are jumped by JAY & SCOTT …. Lots of wild brawling and fighting to start, and JAY goes under the ring and breaks out the weapons …. JAY gets WHEELER on his shoulders for the STEINER top rope bulldog and that gets a 2 count …. HARDWOOD produces a stop sign and cracks JAY with it, busting him open …. FTR with a spike piledriver to JAY but SCOTT is in to break up the pin …. SCOTT sets a table up in the corner and HARDWOOD gets driven through it with an Exploder suplex! LAMBERT tries to help FTR, but gets put in the Steiner Recliner only to have WHEELER break it up with a superkick! BIG RIG TO SCOTT STEINER! JAY breaks it up! JAY takes out WHEELER with a chair, and here is MARK BRISCOE with his arm in a cast! JAY smashes HARDWOOD with a chair shot and lays him out on a table, while MARK goes to the top …. FROGGY BOW DRIVES HARDWOOD THROUGH THE TABLE!!!! JAY covers … 1 … 2 … 3!!!! ….


IN THE BACK –

BRYAN DANIELSON cuts a final promo before Survivor Series, claiming that his team is superior to STING’s and they will win …. He’s the best wrestler in the world and he is also the best team captain in the world …. He warns his teammates that as long as they follow his lead they will win the match ….


The show closes with the contract signing for the HBK/ ADAM PAGE AEW title match next week …. PAGE cuts a passionate promo about taking HBK’s advice after he lost to him 4 months ago …. He changed everything about himself because of that moment and now he is so close to the AEW title that he can taste it …. HBK gives the kid respect, but says this is as close as he is going to get to the AEW title …. HBK may have taught PAGE a few things, but HBK has forgotten more things about this business than PAGE will ever know and at the end of the day PAGE will continue to come up short ….

They are interrupted as out comes ROMAN REIGNS and JACOB FATU!!!! REIGNS says he has heard enough …. this is HIS show …. And when it’s your show and youre the Tribal Chief, you make the rules …. He heard ROCK earlier talking about how he has to stand up like a man, but what he wants THE ROCK to do is be a man and come out here and thank his Tribal Chief because he is the one responsible for taking care of this family while THE ROCK has been off in Hollywood …. Things changed while he was gone …. ROCK doesn’t call the shots anymore, REIGNS does …. ROCK wants to fight him at Terminus? Well tough shit because REIGNS isn’t going to fight THE ROCK …. You don’t earn that opportunity just by saying it because REIGNS is so far above ROCK right now that he is in God Mode …. Instead, ROCK can fight JACOB FATU at TERMINUS!!!! ….

REIGNS turns his attention back to the men in the ring …. He tells either PAGE or HBK it doesn’t matter who wins between them because they are both on borrowed time …. REIGNS reaches out and picks up the AEW title, which prompts ADAM PAGE to stand up and get right in REIGNS’ face …. PAGE doesn’t back down, but FATU comes in and takes him out! HBK turns the table over onto REIGNS and FATU, then tries to hit Sweet Chin Music on FATU but he catches his foot!!!! SUPERMAN PUNCH FROM REIGNS TAKES OUT HBK!!!! REIGNS yells ‘Did you think I was finished with you????’ They lay HBK out on the table, but PAGE tries to fight back …. He fires off right hands on both REIGNS and FATU but gets hit with the Samoan Spike! REIGNS then picks up PAGE and powerbomb him onto HBK sending both of them through the table!!!!

REIGNS once again ends the show holding the AEW title up high ….

‘IF YA SMMMMMEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOWWWW . . . .’

HERE COMES THE ROCK! ROCK HEADS TO THE RING BUT WE ARE OUT OF TIME!!!! TERMINUS IS NEXT WEEK!!!!
