Freddy Miller and Gordon Solie are up in the announcers booth at the Target Center.
Freddy Miller : Midwest and Great Lakes fans , wrestling is back . Hello , I’m Freddy Miller and this is the Dean of Wrestling Gordon Solie . Gordon Bob Luce has brought wrestling back to the Midwest in the form of the American Wrestling Association.
Gordon : Indeed , we have a mix of established superstars and some guys trying to make it in the business . For the next four weeks we will be crowning champions . It begins here tonight at the Target Center. Six tag teams will bide for the AWA Tag Team titles . HBO and HBOMax will carry the show .
Then next week in Milwaukee at the Mecca we will crown a Junior Heavyweight Champion in a 8 man tourney again HBOMAX and HBO will carry the show.
The week after the WGN Television Title . This title will be defended weekly only on WGN and only on our regular studio at WGN broadcasting museum in Chicago.
The AWA Heavyweight Title will be decided at Clash of Champions as IWA comes to you live from the historic Madison Square Garden .
Freddy Miller: Gordon, last weekend our fans were treated to a 64 team tourney at the United Center in Chicago . Two teams went all the way through and won . The American Rednecks James Storm and Trevor Murdoch and Ray Stevens and Wahoo McDaniels .
Both teams have byes into the next round where they will face the winners of tonight’s wildcard match up .
First up , Bob and Brad Armstrong taking on The Sheik and Baron Von Rashke .
Gordon and with that let’s go the ring .
Bob and Brad Armstrong vs The Sheik and Baron Von Rashke: Bob and Brad in the early going make quick tags keeping the Sheik in their corner working over the arm , but Brad makes the mistake of worry about the Baron on the outside . Sheik rakes the eyes and tosses Brad into the corner .
Baron and Sheik work over Brad . Baron has Brad in the claw , but he falls into the ropes with a dropkick , Brad gets the hot tag his father . Bob Superkick’s Baron , while Brad holds off the Sheik as Bob covers for the 3 . The Target Center explodes !!!
Gordon : And that is all she wrote . Right now Freddy Miller we have a special guest up here .
Freddy : Gordon , Jungle Boy is joining us . Young man , it’s good to see you .
Jungle Boy: Freddy , Gordon , thanks for having me .
Gordon : The last time we saw you , was in your epic battle against Brian Danielson at Wrestle Kingdom. What is your state of mind .
Jungle Boy: Well Gordon , my state of mind is pretty good . Brian Danielson, is one of the top four wrestlers in the world today and I have no regrets losing to him . One day , I hope to face him again .
Freddy : Why not sooner than later .
Jungle Boy: Freddy , I lost . When you lose a world title , you have to earn your way back to the top . You gotta start at the bottom rung . I’ve always worked hard and will continue to do so . Tonight , I’m in a match to see if I make it into the AWA Junior Heavyweight Title tourney next week . One spot open and I’m going to Square off with Jay Uso , if he wins he gets a contract and a spot in the tourney . If win I get the spot . This is where it starts .
Gordon : Jungle Boy thank you very much . Let’s go to the ring .
Dick The Bruiser and Crusher vs Leather and Lace W/ Babydoll : Bruiser and Crusher in the early going have Wagner and Street on the run . They dominate the whole match . Crusher sets for a Polish Hammer on Street . Babydoll though distracts the ref and Wagner gets off a Spartan Front Kick ! Bruiser grabs up Baby Doll and is kissing her ( ugh) Street hits a back stabber on Crusher for the 3. The crowd boos Leather and Lace out of the building .
Gordon : Leather and Lace will move on to face the American Rednecks , while Bob and Brad Armstrong will take on Ray Stevens and Wahoo McDaniels. Right now Wildfire Tommy Rich is in action against Tyrus . Let’s go to the ring .
Tommy Rich vs Tyrus (w/ Babydoll ) : Tyrus’ power is on full display , but Tommy is all heart . He makes a great come back . When Tommy hits a flying crossbody on Tyrus , the two go soaring out of the ring and down to the floor . They duke it out on the outside and brawl all the way to the back . The cameras follow . Wagner and Street now get involved . It’s a 3 on one beat down . Wagner and Street hold Rich’s arms while Tyrus puts him down with a heart punch . After Rich is down , Tyrus hits him again and again with Heart Punches . Finally the Armstrongs and Dusty come to the rescue . EMTs rush to Tommy . He’s non responsive and is quickly taken away .
Gordon : Freddy , a hush has fallen over this crowd .
Freddy : Gordon our hearts and thoughts are with Wildfire right now .
Gordon : We must move on however . The Armstrongs are up . Taking on Ray Stevens and Wahoo McDaniels.
Bob and Brad Armstrong vs Stevens and McDaniels: Something goes horribly wrong here . Stevens and Wahoo open real well , but midway through , Wahoo gets caught in the Armstrong corner . When he tries to tag Stevens , the Blonde Bomber slaps him and then Brad gets off a side Russian Leg Sweep for the 3 as Stevens walks away .
Gordon : The Armstrongs are in the finals .
Freddy : Will it be The American Rednecks or Leather and Lace ? We’ll find out , but right now we are being joined by the promoter of AWA , Mr . Bob Luce .
Bob : Freddy , Gordon tomorrow night , right back here in the Target Center, we will have a 16 man one night tourney. The last two men standing Will square off at Clash of Champions for the AWA Heavyweight Title. Most of the tickets are sold , we have about 250 left . There will be no home television for this event .
Gordon : Mr . Luce , thank you very much. Let’s go to the ring .
Leather and Lace w/ Babydoll vs The American Rednecks: The early going Storm and Murdoch are working like a well oiled machine . The middle of the match , Storm gets caught in the corner and Wagner and Street give all kinds of heat . In the end after Murdoch cleans house after the hot tag . A clothesline puts down Wagner . However Tyrus , off a distraction of Babydoll , pulls Murdoch out of the ring and decks him with the Heart Punch. Dusty comes out and gives chase . But the damage is done . Street brawls with Storm on the floor after rolling Murdoch back in . Wagner puts on the Spartan Shoulder Lock to an unconscious Murdoch the ref calls for the bell for the submission victory .
Gordon : A rather controversial match , but rather the Armstrongs and Leather and Lace in the finals .
Freddy Miller: Gordon, right now , it’s Jungle Boy vs Jay Uso .
Good back and forth match . Lots of counters and high flying action . Uso however misses the Superfly Splash and Jungle Boy after a roaring clothesline, puts him away at the 22 minute mark with the Snare Trap.
Gordon : Jungle Boy had something to prove tonight and prove he did .
Freddy : Gordon , right now we have another match lined up. Dusty Rhodes taking on Big John Studd. Let’s go to the ring .
Studd dominates early . He has Dusty in a Bearhug late . Dusty gets out with the help of the Bionic Elbow. A dropkick sends Studd into the corner . Dusty gets off a Suplex and then Studd stumbles up into a belly to belly . 1…..2…3 !
Gordon : And that is all she wrote . It’s now time for our main event. The AWA Tag Team Titles are on the line . Let’s go to the ring .
AWA Tag Team Titles final Leather and Lace w/ Babydoll vs The Armstrongs : The Armstrongs don’t come alone . Dusty joins them at ringside . He and Tyrus lock eyes . Then all hell breaks loose . Both men brawl to the back . Wagner starts off by raking Brads eyes and then introduces him to the turnbuckles in their corner .
Street comes in and puts the boots to Brad’s gut , before hitting him with a side Suplex . Now Wagner gets the tag and works a reverse Bearhug on Brad . Brad elbows his way out and then hits a bodyslam . He leaps to the corner and tags his father . Bob comes in and chops both men and then a side kick puts Wagner down . Bob locks Street in a nerve hold . Babydoll gets up on the ring apron . Brad and the ref approach her . What they don’t realize is she left her Purse
by Wagner . He hits Bob in the back of the head and knocks him out . Street is laying on Bob for the pinfall . 1…2…3 !

Gordon : And that is all she wrote. We were hoping to get word with the new champions , but we will next week . For Freddy Miller, I’m Gordon Solie saying so long for now .
