WCW Monday Nitro #33

 





    Jim Ross: "Hello once again wrestling fans and welcome to another exciting edition of WCW Nitro.... Viewers Choice edition! On a night where you the fans have voted and determined the matches on the show tonight."          


Jesse Ventura: "And I don't like it one bit Jim Ross! How is this fair to our world champions like Britt Baker and MJF? You don't see the NFL not telling the Chicago Bears who their playing in a game do ya?"           

Jim Ross: "Like it would matter.... the Bears couldn't win regardless! But nonetheless, the votes are in and we are ready to go. Fans we gave you eight options and asked who you wanted to see open tonight's show. Let's go down to the ring and see who you voted for!"           



The live fans are electric as we see participant number one making his way out.......





It's Keith Lee!!


Jim Ross tells the fans on commentary that Keith Lee was the biggest vote getter in the entire competition as his opponent makes his way to the ring.......




It's Donovan Dijak!



Dijak gets in the ring and him and Lee have a slight stare down before Dijak offers a handshake...... which Lee graciously accepts much to the delight of the crowd as they are ready to see the WCW  debuts of both these men!


  Viewers Choice Match One: Keith Lee vs Donovan Dijak            

Dijak kips up out of a Keith Lee shoulderblock and cartwheels away from him, but ends up on his ass as Keith pounces him away. Lee catches a leapfrog in Spirit Bomb position, but Dijak monkeyflips him… only for Keith to LAND ON HIS FEET. Keith clotheslines him to the apron and he tries a powerbomb there. Dijak gets out and CHOKESLAMS HIM on the apron! Dijak nearly falls victim to a Spirit Bomb outside, but he powers out and gives him a rolling Mafia Kick. He rolls inside and tries a Spaceman, BUT KEITH LEE CATCHES HIM AND POSTS HIM! TOPE CON HILO FROM LEE! He measures for the Spirit Bomb in the ring, but Dijak flips out of it… only for  Lee to nail him with a DISCUS PUNCH that sends him flying. Keith hits a flapjack and POUNCES Dijak into the corner, before trying Ground Zero, only for Dijak to counter out. He tries a boot, but Lee FLIPS HIM INTO A 180 and pins him, 1.......2......NO!!!  Lee sits Dijak on the top rope, but Donovan is able to chuck Keith over onto the apron. Keith climbs back up, only for Dijak TO GIVE HIM A FIREMAN’S CARRY SPINEBUSTER TO THE MAT! 1......2......Keith manages to kick out. Keith rolls to the floor as Dijak jaws at him, and Dijak hits a SPRINGBOARD CORKSCREW SENTON TO THE FLOOR! Dijak rolls him into the ring and measures for a Chokebreaker, but Keith FLIPS OUT AND HITS A SPIRIT BOMB! DIJAK POPS UP AND SUPERKICKS HIM! MOONSAULT FROM DIJAK! KEITH LEE SITS UP AND ROLLS INTO GROUND ZERO! 1......2....... DIJAK KICKS OUT! Keith heads up top for a MOONSAULT OF HIS OWN! DIJAK POPS UP AT ONE! MONGOLIAN CHOPS! DIJAK LAUGHS AT HIM.... SUPERKICK… INTO FEAST YOUR EYES!!!  KEITH LEE PUSHES HIM OUT OF THE RING AT ONE! SENTON ONTO KEITH LEE… COUNTERED INTO A SPIRIT BOMB! 1......2......DIJAK KICKS OUT AGAIN!!!! Keith Lee drags Dijak into the center of the ring, but Dijak SUPERKICKS HIM! FEAST YOUR EYES! BUT KEITH LEE DOESN’T GO DOWN!!!!!! GROUND ZERO! ONE, TWO, THREE! Keith Lee finally puts Dijak away!! The fans give Lee a standing ovation. Lee helps Dijak to his feet and shakes his hand. Lee then leaves the ring as the fans give their appreciation for Dijaks efforts!



  Jim Ross: "WHAT A MATCH BYGAWD!! THOSE TWO STUDS WENT OUT THERE AND MADE A STATEMENT! AND I THINK I CAN SPEAK FIR EVERY SINGLE FAN HERE IN ATTENDANCE THAT I WANT TOBSEE FHESE TWI HOOK EM UP AGAIN DOWN THE ROAD! Fans..... as you can see, Jerry "The King" Lawler is making his way to the ring! Which member of HotStuff International will he face? We will find out after these commercial messages!"       






***COMMERCIAL BREAK ***




  "Mean" Gene Okerlund: "Alright wrestling fans......we are just seconds away from finding out who will face this man..... Jerry "The King" Lawler! King.....which Hotstuff International member do you want most?"    


  Jerry Lawler: "Gene..... I will take on any of them. But obviously if I had to face that freak Cactus Jack..... so be it. It's gonna be a fight. And any day I can get my hands on Eddie Gilbert is a good one. But Gene, I never thought I would say this...... but I hope all these people voted for Brian Christopher! That way I can get him in this ring and do something I should have years ago......and that's whip his ass!"          

  Gene Okerlund: "OHHHHH MY!! Let's not wait any longer.  Let's see who the people voted for! Would the man who received the most votes come on out here?"         


The cameras pan to the entrance way and out comes..........




Brian Christopher!






Brian Christopher: "Hold it just a minute..... DAD! So you wanna beat my ass huh? How convenient.  You spent your entire life on the road comitting adultery while I was home alone taking care of Mom. It's just fitting that you want to add child abuse to it too! Some damned role model you are. I disowned you long ago.... you just never knew it! So I'm gonna take great pleasure in getting in that ring and handing you your ass!"          


Christopher takes his ring jacket off and slowly makes his way onto the ringapron. Christopher slowly enters the ring and Lawler charges after him. Christopher jumps out of the ring before he can get his hands on him. As Lawler dares him to get back in the ring, Lawler is jumped from behind by Eddie Gilbert and Cactus Jack. They put a beat down on Lawler as Christopher laughs hysterically on the outside. Gilbert hits a Hotshot on Lawler. Cactus throws Lawler on the outside of the ring near Christopher.  Cactus gets on the ringapron and runs off with a flying elbowdrop to Lawler.


  Brian Christopher: "Look at you..... your pathetic!  GET UP!!! And fight like a man. Referee..... ring that bell!"    


The ref looks on confused as the bell has never officially started for this matchup. Christopher picks Lawler up and throws him into the ring. The ref reluctantly calls for the bell. Christopher grabs Lawler....... PILEDRIVER!!! Christopher covers, 1......2.......3!!! Christopher jumps up celebrating like he just won the world title! Hotstuff International all have a good time, laughing at Lawler beaten down before they take their leave.


The cameras then pan backstage where we see Mean Gene with Sting and "The Total Package " Lex Luger!



Gene Okerlund: "Alright Gentlemen..... we asked the fans to vote on who they wanted to see face Killer Kross between the two of you. And the man who won is ......you Lex Luger! Stinger.... I know you wanted that match, but this one is personal for your best friend!"       





Sting: "I wanted it real bad Gene! But I know that Lex is gonna go out there and put that big goof in his place one and for all. Package..... the kid is mean. He's ruthless. And most importantly  the kid is......"         

  Lex Luger: "Listen Stinger..... I appreciate you being here for me. But you heard Gene, the fans voted me in. This is something I gotta do.....on my own! I know just how big and Killer Kross is..... but Stinger..... you gotta promise me something..... NO matter what happens.....you stay outta this match..... NO matter what!"         


Luger walks out of the interview area.


Sting: "Ya know something Mean Gene..... Lugers ready!! He's got this! HE'S READY.....IM READY.....THE PEOPLE ARE READY......KILLER KROSS....YOU BETTER BE READY! CAUSE THE PACKAGE IS COMING FOR YA! OWWWWWWWWW!"

 Jim Ross: "Welcome back fans. At this time we would be doing a great injustice if we didn't provide you with an update in "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. As you know we went off the air last week with what apparently was a gang mentality beatdiwn to Austin. We can tell you that there was no serious injuries to Austin and there is an investigation by Eric Bischoff to get to the bottom of this and see whom is responsible for the attack. We can tell you that the Texas Rattlesnake will be back here next week. And whoever it is..... I sure wouldn't want to be in their shoes!"    


The cameras then pan backstage where we see Adam Cole watching intently at a monitor to what Jim Ross had to say.





Then there's a knock on Coles dressing room door.  Cole opens it up and we see Cole with a huge surprise on his face.....


 Adam Cole: "No way!! What are you doing here?"          


The door opens up and we see......




The Young Bucks!!



Matt Jackson: "Surprised to see us champ? We just got back from Japan my man. And we have seen what your doing here..... and figured why not join ya? It's time to get the band back together!"          

 Nick Jackson: "What gives man? This is how you react to seeing us? What's going on with you?"          

  Adam Cole: "No, no.....of course I'm glad to see you guys. It's just then thing with Austin. And the upcoming investigation. I know their gonna be pointing fingers at me about it."      

Matt Jackson: "Austin?? What are you talking about? What happened to Austin?"          

 Nick Jackson: "Ohhhh wait!! You mean Steve Austin? Yea I heard something about that? What he do.... get drunk and pass out somewhere?"        

  Adam Cole: "You guys seriously don't know? You haven't heard what happened? Wait! Wait just a minute. You guys..... please.....tell me that you didn't have anything to do with what happened?"          

  Matt Jackson: "Adam..... what are you talking about? Why are you so uptight? And what's up with all this Austin jazz? Ya know what? Enough of all that..... the Superkliq is back together tonight! Let's go paint this town!"

As we come back from break we see the IWA X Division champion, MJF with his manager Bobby "The Brain" Heenan already in the ring.




  MJF: "So the higher ups here in WCW think their pulling one over on me tonight as my opponent has been voted by your morons to be a Mystery Opponent! And I look out there at each and every single one of you marks..... with those ignorant looking smiles on your faces. You think you really did something don't you? You believe that whoever walks through that curtain in a few seconds actually has  chance of beating me and taking MY IWA X Division title don't you? Come to think of it..... that doesn't surprise me really. I mean alot if you fools actually believe that the person sleeping with your Mother is actually your Father! So go figure! Bring this loser out so we can get this over with!"       



Hernan gives MJF some last second advice before leaving the ring and then the lights go down and we see........






  Jim Ross: :"Business.....is about to Bygawd pickup fans! Samoa Joe is in the house and I think we are just seconds away from seeing a Slobberknocker up close and personal!"          



  Viewers Choice Match for the IWA X Division title: Samoa Joe vs MJF    


The live audience begins a chant of "JOE'S GONNA KILL YOU!" as Joe gets a monster ovation entering the ring and to say MJF looks worried is an understatement. The bell rings and Joe misses with a kick, but slaps MJF down with a palm to the back of the head. Cheapshot from MJF…and he goes straight for Salt if the Earth. Joe to the floor…SOMERSAULT PLANCHA BY MJF but he tries to trade chops, and unsurprisingly gets mowed down by the Samoan. Chop/kick/knee drop combo gets Joe a 2, and wisely MJF retreats again. He evades Joe’s elbow suicida, then goes for one of his own and gets kicked in the head. ELBOW SUICIDAAAAAAAAAAA! MJF gets thrown into the crowd, and  OLE OLE KICK! He lines up a second but this time Heenan positions himself in Joe’s path. It’s enough of a distraction for MJF to gather himself and toss Joe into the railings. Realising he can’t beat Joe in a strike duel, he thumbs the eyes and negates the size disadvantage by keeping Samoa Joe on the mat. Joe lands a MASSIVE bItch slap…but MJF shuts it down by going to the eyes again. This time Joe has a comeback though, booting MJF in the face, and soon going to the powerbomb into a submission combo. It’s an STF, into a crossface, into a Rings Of Saturn. MJF evades the Muslebuster and goes to a headscissors, then a neckbreaker. Suplexfor 2. 15 minutes in and MJF  has taken a lot of punishment, but he’s taken Joe down using his known problematic neck. Joe catches him though…ISLAND DRIVER! ONE COUNT OF DISRESPECT!!!! MJF just keeps fighting back, doing everything he can to save his title, much to the disbelief of Joe. ROARING ELBOW! LOW SUPERKICK! HEAT SEEKER (Rope Assisted Piledriver) 1......2......NO! MJF is too worn down and hits a low SUPERKICK! Both men fight on the top, MJF finally knocking Joe goofy with an overhead enziguri. ST-JOE from nothing. MUSCLEBUSTAAAAAH! CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOKE! JOE HAS IT LOCKED IN!! HEENAN IS GOING NUTS OUTSIDE THE RING! THE REF CHECKS THE ARM OF MJF...... THE BELL RINGS! Joe jumps up with his arms in the air as the crowd goes nuts. The ref gets with the ring announcer who declares the 20 minute time limit has expired..... therefor, still the IWA X Division champion....... MJF! 

A groggy and dazed MJF tries to get air flowing back in his body. Joe has the X Division title and walks over to MJF and hands it to him. Joe offers a handshake. MJF looks at Joe....... then flips him off before rolling out of the ring! 


   Gene Okerlund: "OHHHHH MY!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The ultimate slap in the face there from MJF, who just narrowly escapes tonight with his IWA X Division title.  Speaking of titles, joining me now is the 4 Horsemen, along with the IWA World champion....."The Nature Boy" Ric Flair! Champ I'm sure you have heard the rumors regarding the #1 contender to your title..... "Stone Cold" Steve Austin! And we heard earlier tonight that Adam Cole has denied being responsible for the attack. Which leads many people to point their fingers at the 4 Horsemen!"        


   Ric Flair: "Mean Gene..... take a good look at the men surrounding you right now! And your gonna see four of the classiest, stylish, honorable men going today. The Horsemen doesnt do gang mentality. If we wanted Austin gone..... he would already be gone! Rest assure..... whatever the rumors are about who attacked Austin..... The Horsemen have better things to do!"         

   Gene Okerlund: "Which brings us to tonight. The fans have voted.  And it's going to be the team of Barry Windham and Davey Boy Smith against Owen Hart...... and you Arn Anderson!"      


   Arn Anderson: "And to think..... we thought the fans was stupid all along then they prove us wrong by doing something like this. Tonight..... the Hirsemen get back on track! I'm personally making sure of that. And once the bell rings and the smoke clears..... The Horsemen will stand stronger than ever!"

  Viewers Choice Match Four: Barry Windham & Davey Boy Smith vs Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard  

Good matwork early on, and then a great run of Barry disrupting Horsemen tactics and just not letting them do any of the usual stuff they do to get into a groove, as Arn and Owen just don't look on the same page together. They double team to take over, but it’s more even than usual. Davey Boy gets in and briefly cleans house, but he goes to the powerslam on Owen too early and Arn clips his leg. They beat the crap out of Davey and he eats two DDTs in a rarity. Barry gets the tag and cleans house, but as he does, Arn posts Davey Boy on the outside. Barry has great back and forth with Arn, while Owen actually gets down off the apron and checks on Davey Boy! Arn yells at Barry and asks where his partner is. Barry rolls out of the ring and runs Owen away from Davey Boy. Barry helps Davey up and rolls him into the ring. Owen comes flying with a dropkick on the floor to Windham. And is stomping Davey in the ring. Arn hits Davey with a DDT. And puts the boots to him again. Owen pulls Arn off Davey!!! Arn asks Owen what the Hell he's doing?? While they argue, on the outside, Windham grabs a chair. He slides in the ring and holds Arn and Owen off Davey Boy. Then Barry nods at Arn...... then he turns and hits Owen in the back of the head with the chair. Arn DDTS OWEN!!!

BARRY FORCES A TAG ON DAVEY IN ANGER AND HE SLAMS HIM IN. WINDHAM HITS A LARIAT OFF THE ROPES, AND ARN COVERS DAVEY TO WIN THE MATCH!

Tully Blanchard and Ric Flair come to the ring. Windham looks down at Davey then holds 4 fingers up in the air...... BARRY WINDHAM IS A HORSEMEN!!!





  Jim Ross: "Good Lord..... what just happened here? Am I seeing this right? Barry Windham is a Horsemen??

  Viewers Choice Match for the IWA Womens World title: Britt Baker vs ???      


We return from break and see the IWA Womens World champion making her way to the ring. 






As Baker rounds the ring she sees Thunder Rosa sitting ringside.






Britt and Rosa share some words then Britt enters the ring and wait to see who the fans voted for her to defend her title against. And out comes the challenger.........




Becky Lynch! 





Britt goes for a quick roll up, but only gets a one count. Britt has Lynch in an arm lock, and bring down Lynch for a quick roll up, but only gets a two count. The crowd stars chanting DMD. Lynch is back on the offense. Britt takes down Lynch and tries to go for a lock jaw, but Lynch breaks out. Things turn into a bit of a shoving match. Lynch is on the rope, but is brought back into the ring as Britt hits her with a butterfly suplex. Britt hits Lynch with knee shots to the face. Britt tries to go for a lock jaw but Lynch breaks out of it and hits Britt in the corner with several kicks to the face. Lynch goes for the pin, but only gets a two count. As Becky climbs the top rope, Britt does a neck breaker on Lynch from the first rope. Britt stomps Lynch in the back of the head. Out of nowhere Becky gives Baker a stunner, goes for a pin, 1.....2......but only gets a two count. Britt picks up Lynch for a crazy drop on Beckys head on the ring apron. Britt goes for a pin, but only gets a two. Britt puts Lynch in a backslide for a pin, but only gets a two count. Britt comes up, as Lynch hits a ddt, goes for the pin, but only gets a two count. Lynch hits Britt with a pile driver, 1.....2......but only gets a two count. Britt stomps Lynch several times, goes for a pin, but Lynch kicks out. Baker slides out if the ring with more words for Thunder Rosa.. Lynch climbs the rope as Britt is on the outside. Lynch moonsaults onyo Baker!! Both women are back in the ring. Becky gives Britt a DDT and goes for the pin, but only gets a two count. Becky kicks Britt several times. Lynch wants the Dis-Arm-Her...... Britt counters with the lock jaw and pins Lynch!!!  Thunder watches on as Baker climbs the turnbuckles, taunting her with the IWA Womens World title!





  Jim Ross: "These two ladies are set for collision at Wrestle Kingdom but the road will be damned for them between now and then as I'm not sure either woman is willing to wait that long!"

We come back from break and see "The Total Package " making his way into the ring for our Main Event. As Luger paces around the ring, out comes his opponent.......







Main Event: Lex Luger vs Killer Kross w/Scarlett          


As soon as Kross enters the ring, Luger attacks with a hard Lariat! Luger hits the ropes for another one. Kross does not go down! Luger can't believe it!! He hits the ropes again with another lariat. Luger sends Kross into the ropes and hits his patented powerslam...... AND KROSS JUST NO SELLS IT AND STANDS UP!!!

Luger has a look of disbelief or is it concern on his face now! He charges at Kross and clotheslines Kross over the ropes and to the floor. Luger follows him out of the ring, but Kross attacks him and goes for a punch. Kross hits the barricade when Luger moves. Luger kicks him down and puts him in the ring. Luger charges him in the corner, but Kross boots him back and kicks him in the head. Kross hits a vicious DDT.


Kross immediately floors him with a Doomsday Saito! Kross goes for a submission, but Luger whips him off.  Luger fights back and forearms him in the face a few times. Luger kicks and elbows him before hitting a release suplex. Luger charges and Kross backbone drops Luger over the top to the floor. Kross quickly sends him head-first into the steel steps. Kross quickly pushes Lugets head down behind the steel steps before kicking them into Lugers head! Luger is absolutely unconscious.

The referee makes Kross get in the ring and goes for a count-out, but Kross gets out of the ring and powers the unconscious Luger into the ring. Kross lays him down on the canvas. Out comes the Stinger to ringside! Sting pounds on the mat trying to cheer Luger on.

Kross stares at Sting as he continually forearms Luger in the face. Luger is bleeding profusely. Sting grabs a towel off the announce table and is gonna throw it in......LUGER YELLS NO TO STING!

Kross viciously forearms Luger in the face. Sting wants to throw the towel, but he made Luger the promise to not get involved! Kross saunters around the ring before telling Sting to watch this. Kross  Saito suplexes Luger to the mat! Kross looks at Sting and does the cut throat motion......then applies the Kross Jacket and takes Luger down. Kross tells Sting to throw the towel. Sting is beside himself.....but won't do it The! Finally, The referee, fearing for Lugers condition, stops the match! Kross releases the bloody Luger and stands mid ring as Sting hurries in to Lugets aid. Sting holds Lugers bloody body in his arms as Kross and Scarlett watch on in amusement as dhow fades to black.
