WCW Monday Nitro #7

   



Jim Ross: "Hello once again wrestling fans, and welcome to this weeks edition of WCW Nitro! We are fresh off the heels of SuperClash, and what an event that was. Not only was Steve Austin crowned the first ever WCW Champion. But MJF defeated Rey Mysterio to become the new IWA X-Division champion. We have alot to cover....."


Ross is interrupted by the appearance of Michael P.S. Hayes!

Jim Ross: "Good grief! What are you doing out here? Didnt we see enough of you at SuperClash?"


Michael Hayes: "Well apparantly Eric Buschoff is smarter than we gave him credit for. And as of now, I'm the new host of this show!"

Jim Ross: "The Hell you say! Bischoff may have put you out here on commentary, but if I was you, I would be watching your back for one Jerry Lawler!"




Michael Hayes: "HA! Did you not see what Eddie Gilbert and his new monster, Fatu, did to Lawler? We wont be seeing him around here for some time. And hes lucky too, because if he ever puts his hands on my Beautiful body, you can bet that The Freebirds will bury his ass at the end of Badstreet! And this is just the first big surprise we have tonight. Just wait until later and see what "Bam Bam" has up his sleeve."

Jim Ross: "You havent been here five minutes and I'm already for you to leave. Fans, let's get up to the ring for our opening contest."



The cameras pan to the ring where we see Savio Vega waiting already. Then we see.......





Teddy Long: "Now hold on one minute player.....let me Holla at ya! Now I know your probably asking yourself what I'm doing here. When the question you should be asking is..... What time is it? Its Vader Time!"




Jim Ross reminds the TV audience of the debut that Vader made during the Rumble and the epic collision between him and Lance Archer as Vader makes his way to the ring.



Match One: Savio Vega vs Big Van Vader

Vader taunts Vega before they lock up and Vader tosses Vega towards the corner. Vader backs Vega into a corner and delivers several shots to the midsection and head of Vega. Vader with several more strikes to the face as Vega gets back to his feet in the corner. Vader misses a splash in the corner and Vega chops Vader before super kicking Vader over the top to the floor. Vader lands on his feet and drops Vega throat first across the guard railing. Vader with more punches in the corner and splashes Vega in the corner this time. Vader sets Vega up and connects with the Vader Bomb! Vader goes for the cover and picks up the win.


After the match, Vader connects with another Vader Bomb on Vega. The ref, fearing for Savios safety tries to stop Vader but Vader grabs the ref.....headbutting him down!!! Another ref makes his way to the ring. Teddy Long is pleading with Vader. Vader grabs the second ref.....POWERBOMB!!! Teddy cant control his client. This brings out WCW GM, Eric Bischoff. Bischoff has some words with Teddy Long, until Vader steps in and now Vader and Bischoff are jaw jacking each other. Bischoff calls for the ring announcer who informs the crowd that he Bischoff has suspended Vader!! Bischoff goes to the corner and checks on the fallen ref. Vader pushes Ling away. Vadet and Bischoff argue some more. Vader charges in..... splashes Bischoff in the corner! Vader puts Bischoff on the mat and VaderBombs Bischoff!! Vader goes up again.....but before he can hit another bomb, out comes Lance Archer storming the ring. Vader and Long take their leave. EMTs come to Bishoffs aid and after a couple of minutes they cart Bishoff away on a stretcher.



***COMMERCIAL BREAK***




We come back from break and see Vader and Teddy Long in the dressing room area....


Vader: "BISCHOFF!!! WCW!! YOU WANT TO SUSPEND ME??? I DECLARE WAR ON ALL OF WCW! BISCHOFF.....ARCHER.... REFEREE'S.....NOBODYS SAFE FROM THE HANDS OF VADER!"



Match Two: Mickie James vs Tenille Dashwood

James with an arm drag and Dashwood hit a shoulder tackle. James tripped her up leading to two arm drags and a dropkick for two. Dashwood with a corner whip, James tried a headscissors, but Dashwood sent her to the apron and Dashwood kicked James off the apron to the floor. Dashwood sent James face first into the top of the barricade. Back in the ring, Dashwood with a kick to the head followed by some choking against the ropes. Dashwood did a hair pull toss across the ring for two then missed a moonsault off the middle ropes when James moved. James came back with punches, a clothesline, a back elbow, a chop, more punches and a right-handed punch to the jaw for two. James with a back elbow followed by a headscissors out of the corner. Dashwood was on the apron, so James punched her to knock her down. Lacey Evan's went down to the ring.




James punched her and James sent Dashwood back in the ring. James with a clothesline on Dashwood. Lacey grabbed Mickie’s feet, and Dashwood hit "The Spotlight" on Mickie to get the win.



As Lacey heads towards the dressing room, happy over what just took place, Mickie grabs the housemic.....




Mickie James: "Lacey Evans..... I have so had it with you! You have been nothing been a pain in my side since I got here. And if it's not you, then it's your over jacked behemoth, Raquel Gonzalez doing your dirty work. You claim to be such a classy lady. I can think of alot of things to describe you..... and classy isnt one of them! I say let's settle this! On May 8th.... WCW's Bash at the Beach! Let's finish it!!!"

We come back from break and hear.....





And the WCW Heavyweight champion makes his way to a huge ovation.





Steve Austin: "Its been a long damned time since "Stone Cold" Steve Austin heard the glass break and got to walk to this ring and beat somebodies ass! Ever since that damn pandemic started, I've just been sitting at home drinking some Steveweisers and itching for a good fight. Then I was flipping through the channels one day and seen that the WCW was gonna have a Rumble right in my back yard in Texas! I said Hell..... count me in Son! So I showed up, and opened a can of whupass on 29 other men and won me this here WCW title! And I hot here tonight and I figured the suits in the back would want to hear the normal post title win speech about being a fighting champion who will face anyone, any time, any where! Well Hell.....anybody that knows Stone Cold Steve Austin already knows if your looking for a fight, then I'm your man! So I guess what I'm saying is this. The next big show for WCW is on May 8th, called Bash at the Beach. And if any of you sumbitches in the back wanna title shot, now's the time to ask for it."

And Austin doesnt have to wait too long as Michael Hayes leaves the announce booth and is joined by fellow Freebird teammates, Terry Gordy and Cameron Grimes!


Michael Hayes: "You know something Steve Austin.... we been waiting all week for this! We figured you would come out here and say something like that. Well consider your challenge accepted by my big brother "Bam Bam" Terry Gordy! And there ain't nothing we like more than kicking a Texans ass!"

Steve Austin: "I dont think I heard you right. Your gonna kick my ass? At Bash at the Beach? In front of thousands of Hell Raisin partiers? Right here in Texas? Well Hell son.....that sounds like a good time to me! You tell Bam Bam, Fred Flinstone, Wilma and the rest of your rebel flag waving sumbitches to bring it on because at The Bash at the Beach, Stone Cold Steve Austin is gonna stomp a puddle and walk ot dry! And that's the bottom line.....cause Stone Cold said so!"

We come back from break and see "Hollywood" John Tatum already in the ring.




John Tatum: "I have never been more embarrassed in my life then I was last week here on Nitro! When I was fired by my own girlfriend, Missy Hyatt! Now Missy, I know your back there. And we both know that things get tough in the rasslin business. And yea, maybe I've lost a match or two since coming here to WCW. But your still my girl. And somehow I have a feeling Eddie Gilbert is behind this whole mess. I know he fancies you Missy! And I know hes going behind my back like a coward that he is. But Missy, we both know that....."


Before Tatum can finish, "Hotstuff" Eddie Gilbert makes his way out.




Eddie Gilbert: "Ya know Tatum, it's a good thing a man if my integrity wouldnt be insulted by the lies coming out of your mouth. I've been a busy man running Jerry Lawler out of WCW. All the while, you have been running me down. And ontop of that embarrassing Missy Hyatt every time you step into that ring. Yes Sir!! Its a good thing I dont get offended easily. But.... it's too bad this man does!"


Gilbert points to the entrance way and iut comes.....




JACOB FATU!!!


Match Three: John Tatum vs Jacob Fatu w/ Eddie Gilbert

The look on Tatums face says it all as Fau makes his way to the ring. And this one is just pure suicide on Tatums part as Fatu just destroys Tatum. Fatu beats the piss out of Tatum before hitting his popup Samoan drop for an easy win.....in less than 30 seconds!!

Main Event: Eddie Guerrero vs Ric Flair

Eddie controls to start with a headlock. Flair and Eddie get into a exchange of chops before Flair backs off in the corner. More chop trading as Guerrero dropkicks Flair to the floor. Guerrero’s up top, so Flair gets out of there and throws a tantrum in the aisleway. He even grabs a chair, but ref puts a stop to that. “Eddie” chants go up. Back in the ring, Guerrero makes Flair give chase as he drops to the floor and mocks Flair with his own strut. Eddie has this crowd in the palm of his hand right now. Eddie chops Flair to set up his signature Flair Flop. Flair begs off and suckers Eddie into the corner as he goes to the eyes. Guerrero hits some clotheslines and pulls the tights down to complete the Flying Sunset Flip for 1....2.....NO! Then Flair stops a ten-count corner punch with an inverted atomic drop as Jom Ross talks about the Horsemen breaking Perry Saturns leg during the Rumble. Rolling Knee Drop connects as Flair begins to toil with Guerrero. Eddie gets a few quick nearfalls that don’t pay off. Flair hits a back suplex and takes a while getting to his feet to apply the FIGURE-FOUR, allowing Eddie to counter with an inside cradle for two. Flair goes for a running field goal kick, but Eddie sweeps him up and grabs a FIGURE-FOUR of his own! Flair makes the ropes and heads to the floor, only to make Eddie fly down and miss as he crumbles into the guardrail! Eddie sells an injured knee as Flair gives him a suplex on the floor. Back in the ring, Flair clips Eddie from behind. Stalling suplex gets two. Eddie flips out of a back suplex and catches Flair with an O’Connor roll for 1.....2.....NO! Eddie hits a crossbody block, but he lands on his knee doing so and can’t cover Flair. Flair Flip in the corner leads to a dropkick off the apron to the floor. Back inside, Flair blocks a sunset flip with a fist and then struts around Eddie. In the corner, Guerrero goes to the eyes and hits a Tornado DDT on Flair! His knee is hurting him, but he still covers Flair for 1.....2.....NO! Eddie walks the ropes and ranas Flair. Eddie hits the FROG SPLASH, but that does his knee in. Naturally, Flair seizes the moment by applying the FIGURE-FOUR. With a little leverage help from the ropes, Eddie gets his shoulders pinned to give Flair the win. Flair wint release the hold though. He wants to break Guerreros leg too! HERE COMES THE RADICALZ...... BENOIT AND MALENKO!! Flair let's go just in time and bails out of the ring as Benoit stares him down as show fades to black.
