WCW Monday Nitro #28

       
The show opens up with the closing moments of the cage match between Jerry "The King" Lawler and Eddie Gilbert at Violence of the Lambs.......


Lawler spikes Gilbert with a piledriver!
There still isn’t a referee for the cover attempt and Lawlers Son, Brian Christopher  comes running to ringside to cheer his Father on. Christopher searches around ringside for the key to unlock the cage door but is informed the ref has it inside. Christopher starts climbing the cage. Christopher gets in the cage and checks on his Father, who is a bloody mess. Christopher tries to revive the ref..... he's out still. Jerry stumbles up to his feet as Christopher turns around AND KICKS LAWLER IN THE NUTS!!! Gilbert and Christopher start laughing and high firing each other. Christopher has Lawler and along with Gilbert they hit a spike piledriver. Gilbert and Christopher have Lawler and they drive Lawler groin first into the ring post! Gilbert has the cover on Lawler and gets a three count! The fans sit in shock around ringside as Christopher and Gilbert leave the cage together, leaving a bloody and dejected Lawler behind.







Jim Ross: "Hello once again wrestling fans, and welcome to WCW Nitro! You seen at the top of the hour the shocking turn of events that took place at Violence of the Lambs, where Brian Christopher turned his back on his own Father to help "Hotstuff" Eddie Gilbert get the victory. Jesse "The Body" there's alot of things going inhere in WCW. We have a new WCW Womens champion in Bianca Belair...... Hangman Page had to leave WCW after losing to Chris Jericho...... Killer Kross with a sadistic attack on Lex Luger...... and how about the shocking debut of Adam Cole at Halloween Havoc?"   




   Jesse Ventura: "It certainly is a great time to be a wrestling fan isn't it Jim Ross? And it's only going to get better!"         

Jim Ross: "There's something we can finally agree on. Fans, it's time to get you up to the ring for our opening contest of the night!"          




   Match One: Barry Windham vs  Killer Tim Brooks          

Windham takes Brooks down and continues to keep Brioks on the mat and applies an armbar. Brooks gets Windham in the corner and throws some forearms at Windham. As the match progresses on, The 4 Horsemen make their way to the interview area. Brooks gets Windham with an elbow off the ropes but then misses an elbowdrop. Windham goes with a series of uppercuts to Brooks then drives in a knee. Windham whips Brooks into the ropes and hits him with a Lariat to get the win.






 Gene Okerlund: "Alright fans, help me welcome at this time.... four men who need no introduction..... The Four Horsemen! Arn Anderson, you Sir have been busy of late, not only with the NWO over in AEW, but you have the Bunkhouse Finales in just a few weeks."        





 Arn Anderson: "Gene Okerlund I've been in this great business a long time and have seen alot of things in that time. But the One thing that remains the same through it all.....is when it comes to the Horsemen, I will always have the backs of Ric Flair and Tully Blanchard.  The Horsrmen are the measuring stick of professional wrestling and nobody does it better. Which brings me to you Owen. Last weekend on a National stage, you lost to a kid by the name of Jungle Boy. A match that you should have won easily.... and quite frankly a loss that can't be tolerated."          

 Owen Hart: "Now wait just a minute! It was one loss. Everybody has off nights. I mean.... didn't you just get pinned by Shawn Michaels?"        


Arn takes exception to Owens comment and gets chest to chest with Owen as Ric and Tully keep them seperated.


Gene Okerlund: "OHHHHH MY!!! WHAT IS THIS?? Do I see dissention in the ranks of the Horsemen?"          


Before anyone can answer the question, Barry Windham walks into the interview area.





  Barry Windham: "Far be it from me to interrupt a good lovers spat but I've been out here a few weeks in a row now and I've made it clear what I'm after. And that's you Owen Hart! I think it's high time that you put that WCW TV Title on the line against me!"      

Owen Hart: "You think I really give a damned what you want? It's going to take a little bit more than getting a win over someone like Tim Brooks to get a shot at my title!"         


And this brings in Davey Boy Smith to the party!




Davey Boy Smith: "A title shot?? You want a title shot after the cheap victory you got over me at Halloween Havoc? I've heard plenty about you Windham. Your supposed to be some highly respected wrestler. But yet you take a cheap pinfall over me then have the nerve to ask for a title shot?"       

Ric Flair: "Gentlemen.....it's clear to see that our business is done here tonight. Windham..... Davey..... you two have a problem with each other? So be it! Don't make the mistake of bringing your problems into Horsemen business again!"        


Flair leads the Horsemen away as Davey and Barry watch on.


  Gene Okerlund: "ARE YOU KIDDING ME? We have a developing story unfolding before our very eyes wrestling fans. One that yours truly will be keeping an eye in going forward."      




***COMMERCIAL BREAK ***




We come back from break and see Chris Jericho walking backstage and we see him approach the office of WCW GM, Eric Bischoff. Jericho doesn't bother knocking and just enters the room......





  Chris Jericho: "There you are Bischoff! I've been looking for you all week Daddy-O! And I know your still upset with me for beating your golden boy Hangman Page and sending him straight out of WCW. And I know you and I got off to a bad start and don't see eye to eye. But Eric..... think about it..... you have the hottest free agent in all of pro wrestling standing in front of you man! It's time to drink it up man!! And do I have a main event for you tonight? Check it out..... it's time to put some Championship gold around this beautiful waist as I challenge MJF tonight for the IWA X Division title!"      

  Eric Bischoff: "You want me to put you you.... in a X Division Title match..... tonight? You smug sonofabitch!  I don't even want you here..... period! And I will tell you...... wait! Now that I think about it.... the numbers from that match could be through the roof as the people will tune in by the millions to watch you two assholes try to beat each other. Tell ya what.... you want the match..... you got it! But..... know this....if you lose... you will never get a title shot again in WCW! Now, shut the door behind you!"      



  Match Two: Bianca Belair vs Lacey Evans for the WCW Womens title        

Evans pushes Bianca then Bianca pushes Lacey down as Jim Ross and Jesse talk about how Lacey didn't won't long to revoke her rematch clause in her attempt to win the title back from Belair.. A slap by Evans as Bianca grabs her and takes her down. A slap by Bianca and a shoulder tackler takes Lacey down. Bianca with a moon sault. She goes for the cover but Evans kicks out. Lacey rolls to the outside. Bianca grabs her but Evans with a jaw breaker.

Evans grabs Bianca by the braid but Bianca grabs Evans and slams her into he ring post. Bianca with a vertical suplex on the outside of the ring. Back inside, Lacey with a clothesline. She goes for the cover but Bianca kicks out. Evans with a modified Disarm-Her that she turns into a cover but Bianca kicks out. Both women up and Bianca goes for a suplex but Evans everses it into a cover but Bianca kicks out. Evans with a drop kick.

Evans goes for a leg drop but Bianca moves out of the way. A right hand by Bianca and a drop kick. Bianca with a suplex. She lifts Evans up and a vertical suplex. Bianca goes for the cover but Evans kicks out. An elbow by Bianca followed by a gut buster. Bianca lifts Evans up but Evans reverses it into a cover but Bianca kicks out. Evans goes for the "Womens Right" but Bianca lifts her up on her shoulder and hits an electric chair!

Bianca lifts Evans up and slams her. She goes for the cover but Evans kicks out. Bianca slams Lacey in the corner but Evans with a kick to the face. Evans climbs the top rope but Bianca catches her as she flies off and Bianca lifts Evans up and nails the Kiss if Death to put Evans away! As the replay is show, Gene Okerlund joins Bianca in the ring.....



  Gene Okerlund: "Bianca Belair.... come on in here young lady! In just the couple of months that you have been in WCW, you have turned the Womens division on its ear!"      





Bianca Belair: "Gene....I'm just so happy to be here and even prouder to have this WCW Womens title around my waist! And to any woman in the back listening right now.... believe you me.... I will be a fighting champion! And I will show each and of one of you why I am the EST of WCW!"

  Match Three:The Young Stallions (Paul Roma & Jim Powers) vs Eddie Gilbert & Brian Christopher w/Missy Hyatt          

Christopher and Gilbert just do nothing bit break the rules in this one as they finally separate Powers away from Roma and keep him on their side of the ring. Gilbert hits a Hotshot but instead of taking the pinfall, Christopher begs him to tag him. Christopher tags in and hits an unnecessary piledriver to get the win. The fans can't stand these two and let them know it as Gene Okerlund joins them at ringside.



  Gene Okerlund: "Alright you two.... you guys have the entire wrestling world buzzing after what you did at Violence of the Lambs! There's no need to show the footage again. We have all seen it. And quite personally, it makes me sick!"       




Eddie Gilbert: "We didn't do anything that I didn't tell all you people for months that I was gonna do.... and that's run Jerry Lawler right out of wrestling! Nobody gave me a chance in beating Lawler in that cage. But I did it. And I'm telling you right now.....that your looking at the next WCW tag team champions...... Hotstuff International!"        

  Gene Okerlund: "Which brings me to you Brian Christopher..... how can you look yourself in the mirror after what you did?"    


  Brian Christopher: "You watch your mouth chrome dome or I will slap you into next week! I don't get what's so hard for all you morons to understand. I exposed to you what kind of man Jerry Lawler really is! A man who used my Mother and impregnated her with me. Then we spent years of him never being around. Countless Birthdays he missed. Ball games he never showed up for. Not to mention the holidays. And all you people wanna ask me why I use the name Brian Christopher? I will tell you why..... BECAUSE IM ASHAMED OF THE LAWLER NAME! I lived in that shadow for way too long! And now I will walk out of that shadow of darkness and be part of Hotstuff International and be part of the greatness I was destined for! All you people need to get in your thick heads..... THE NAME LAWLER IS DEAD TO ME! And after what we did to him at Violence of the Lambs.... he's now dead in professional wrestling once and for all!"

  Gene Okerlund: "Come on in here Stone Cold! The wrestling world is talking about what went down at Halloween Havoc between you and Vader. And to top it off.... where does Adam Cole fit into the scenario?"     





Steve Austin: "I can tell you one thing..... that big, goody, bastard, Vader tried to damn near kill us when he suplexed us off that top turnbuckle and into that announce table. I knew damned well I was going into that match and stepping into a fight. I wouldn't have it any other way. But the fact of the matter is that I didn't get the victory. So Vader.....Teddy Long..... you can bet your sorry asses that I'm not done with ya by a long shot!  Now ya come here and ask me about Adam Cole. And I honestly can't tell ya what his deal is..... talking about he's the Glory champion this, and Glory champion that. Well as far as I'm concerned he can sing "GLORY, GLORY, HALLEJUAH! All he wants..... but if he gets in my business, you know that I'm gonna stomp a mudhole and walk it dry! And THATS THE BOTTOM LINE CAUSE STONE COLD SAID SO!!"

   Main Event: Chris Jericho vs MJF w/Bobby Heenan for the IWA X Division title          

Heenan gives MJF some last minute instructions then MJF and Jericho trade punches and holds early on and then Jericho goes for the Walls of Jericho but MJF counters into a cradle for two. Jericho rolls to the floor and they brawl at ringside. MJF climbs on the apron and Jericho hits a Springboard Dropkick knocking MJF to the floor. Jericho goes for a Baseball Slide but MJF traps Jericho with the apron and lays into him with knees and elbows. Back in the ring, MJF hits an Armbreaker for two. MJF goes to work on the elbow of Jericho and then bites Jericho’s hand. MJF hits a Ghetto Stomp on Jericho’s arm and then Judo throws him into the turnbuckles. MJF gets a nearfall and taunts Jericho while continuing to work on his arm. MJF hangs Jericho’s arm up in the ropes and hits the Heat Seeker on the apron!

Jericho is almost counted out but manages to slide back in the ring to break the count. MJF then goes for an Asai Moonsault but Jericho moves out of the way and MJF lands on his feet only to get Poewrbombed onto the apron! Back in the ring, Jericho dives off the top into a Codebreaker from MJF, 1.....2......NO!!!  MJF sells a back injury as he landed and Jericho trips him and goes for the Walls of Jericho. MJF kicks him off but Jericho knocks him down and hits the Lionsault! 1…2…NO MJF kicks out!

Jericho hits a series of clotheslines in the corner and then lifts MJF to the top and goes for a Frankensteiner but MJF counters into a Superbomb but MJF again sells the back when he hits the mat. MJF finally crawls over and covers for two. MJF bites Jericho and lifts him back to the top. MJF goes for a Superplex but Jericho knocks him off and hits a Diving Codebreaker! 1…2…NO MJF kicks out! Jericho questions the refs count.. MJF hits the Judas Effect on Jericho! 1…2… but Jericho’s foot was on the bottom rope!  Now MJF argues with the ref and Jericho rolls him up for a close two. MJF puts him in the Salt of the Earth but Jericho rolls him over into another nearfall. Jericho puts MJF in the Walls of Jericho! MJF fights and almost taps but bites his hand to keep from tapping. Then out of nowhere Jericho looks down and sees.......






Jericho realistic the Walls and walks to the ropes asking Scarlett why the Hell she is out here! MJF comes behind Jericho and rolls him up.....MJF puts his feet on the ropes for added leverage as the ref counts three! MJF RETAINS THE IWA X DIVISION TITLE! 

Jericho again looks down at Scarlett, who smiles at Jericho and says TIC - TOK!!! Then on the other side of the ring enters.....





KILLER KROSS!!!



Kross walks up on Jericho and grabs him and explodes into a Saito Suplex! Jericho tries to stumble up and Kross hits a Lariat on him, knocking him back down. Kross puts the Straight Jacket on Jericho, who tries fighting out, but Kross is too powerful and after a few seconds, Jericho passes out from the hold!


   Jim Ross: "KILLER KROSS! KILLER KROSS! KILLER KROSS IS HERE AND THATS THE SAME DAMN MOVE THAT PUT LEX LUGER IN THE HOSPITAL! WE NEED SOME HELP OUT HERE!         


Scarlett enters the ring and whispers into Kross ear and then Kross finally breaks the hold, staring at Jericho maniacally as show fades to black!
