major League Wrestling #37 - 'Ring of Victory pre-show'

We are on the boardwalk in Atlantic City, New Jersey, the new home of MLW, and it’s standing room only inside the HARD ROCK HOTEL & CASINO …. The fans are RABID as Pyro erupts from the ringposts and above the entranceway …. We get camera pans over the capacity crowd as MAURO and PAT MCAFEE billboard tonight’s show, welcoming those at home and setting up what we are going to see tonight ….


The show starts out with an in-ring segment involving the UWF world tag team champions, James Storm & Cameron Grimes, Southern Fried Homicide!  They come out and cut a promo on their opponents at GLORY, Tomasso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano ….

This brings out Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa, who make separate entrances ….  They get face to face with the champs, but Storm says they aren’t here to get physical and they just want to introduce themselves …. Storm pops the top on a beer and hands it to Ciampa and then toasts him, but doesn’t offer anything to Gargano …. Johnny feels insulted and cuts a firery babyface promo about them finally getting their moment and winning the tag team titles …. Storm says maybe he misjudged Johnny, and he offers him a beer.  Johnny slaps the beer out of Storms hand!  GRIMES COMES IN OUT OF NOWHERE AND HITS THE CAVE IN ON JOHNNY!  Ciampa just kind of stands there and watches, and Storm gives him the ‘cheers’ signal as Southern Fried Homicide make their exit ….

IN THE LOCKER ROOM ….

Johnny Gargano is in the training room and Ciampa comes in and tries to check on him … Gargano gets angry and shoves Ciampa on his ass for leaving him hanging and then he walks out ….

Solo is no match for Steiners power and intensity despite putting up a good fight.  Steiner gets the pin following the press powerslam …. </p></center>

POST MATCH: Jungle Boy and Rex Steiner come out on stage and it is announced that they will face each other with a contract on the line at RING OF VICTORY …. Both guys get a good pop from the crowd, but Jungle Boy’s pop is considerably bigger ….


MATT RIDDLE interview ….

Riddle doesn’t know what Uhaa Nations problem is, but they will collide at RING OF VICTORY …. His ankle isn’t 100% …. Uhaa comes in and confronts Riddle, calling him a disgrace and says that he made Riddle bow to him …. now he can’t stand up and he will finish the job at RING OF VICTORY ….


IN RING SEGMENT:

Bobby Lashley comes out and talks about beating Taylor last week and says Taylor is a
one-hit wonder …. Lashley now wants to set his sights on the MLW title WITHOUT
MVP ….

This brings out MVP and he starts monologuing on Lashley and says that Lashley owes him everything for where he is at in this business because ‘they’ held him back …. Just like they held back Shane Taylor (subtlely playing the race card) …. MVP tries to get Lashley to join him and Taylor again, but it is just a setup as Taylor hits the ring and attacks Lashley!  Lashley fights back, but MVP with the chop block takes out Lashley’s knee!  Taylor holds Lashley in the corner as MVP hits the Driveby kick!  MVP then stretches Lashley’s leg out and Taylor splashes it from the 2nd rope!  Taylor and MVP leave Lashley laid out with an apparent injured knee ….

The former RUSEV makes his MLW debut under his real name after having bounced around the UWF since winning the UWF Television title several years ago …. MIRO now shows a more violent, aggressive side than he has in the past, and sports a leaner, more cut physique ….  Miro taps GACY out with the Accolade …. </p></center>


We get a QUEEN OF THE RING hype video ahead of the next women’s match ….

ADAM COLE interview ….

COLE cuts a promo on the big screen about how he is the best wrestler in the world …. He says he wasn’t afraid of Killer Kross when he signed his MLW contract, and he isn’t afraid now …. He wanted Kross in the ring all along, now he does it with HIM being the champion …. He says even though he is the champion, he is still the hunter ….

Brian Pillman Jr. def. Bobby Roode &amp; Roderick Strong in a triple threat match
This stems from last weeks 4 corners tag match …. After 12 minutes of back and forth action including Redragon, The North and Stampede Bulldogs being involved, Pillman Jr. scores the big upset by pinning Bobby Roode with a small package counter to the Glorious DDT …. </p></center>


HEALTH UPDATE on MLW Women’s champion Deonna Purazzo ….

We get highlights of Alexa Bliss confronting Deonna Purazzo last week …. Bliss faked the arm injury, but was secretly hiding a lead pipe in her arm sling and she hit Deonna in the face with it, busting her open …. It is reported that Deonna has a broken nose as well as a hairline fracture of her orbital bone ….

Xia Li w/ Mei Ying &amp; Boa vs. Gina Carano
Quick start by Carano using her Muay Thai experience .... Xia Li returns the strikes but Carano backdrops her over the top rope to the floor .... They brawl on the floor but Carano gets it back in the ring and works some submissions .... Li fights out and nails an exploder .... Carano comes back with a flapjack, but Li escapes another submission attempt .... Carano with a Powerbomb and a TKO but Li gets her foot on the ropes .... They fight out on the ramp where Mei Ying sits on her throne, and a distraction by Boa allows Xia to hit the Black Mass out of nowhere!  Carano is down and Xia Li rolls back in the ring and tells the ref to count .... Gina starts to stir, then she barely crawls back into the ring and beats the count at 9!  Carano is on dream street, and Xia grabs both arms and drills her with the Kamigoye for the 3 count in an upset! </p></center>



CLOSING SEGMENT:

From here we segue to Donald Trump making an announcement concerning the QUEEN OF THE RING match …. Trump talks about Deonna Purazzo’s injury, and announces that the QUEEN OF THE RING match will crown an ‘interim’ womens champion ….

This brings out BECKY LYNCH, who still has the Womens title belt she took from Purazzo after the brawl last week …. Lynch says she has the belt and she will still have it after QUEEN OF THE RING …. ‘Guuuuuuuuurl … UH UH!’  Here comes BelAir and we get a brawl between Becky and BelAir!  The other members of the MLW womens roster come out from the back and get involved, and a HUGE brawl erupts as the show goes off the air with Mauro and Pat telling everyone that this is a preview of the QUEEN OF THE RING that will take place at RING OF VICTORY!
