WCW Monday Nitro #25

     




The show opens up and we see a long stretch limousine pull into the venue. The door opens up and we see Eric Bischoff get out. He looks back inside the limo and talks to someone we can't see......





Eric Bischoff: "You relax in there until I call for you, then we will get that contract signed. Relax.... poor some champagne. I will call for you soon."        


Bischoff makes his way through the arena when the WCW TV champion approaches him....



Owen Hart: "Eric!! What's the deal making me defend my title tonight against Luger? How am I suppose to prepare for the world TV tournament and deal with this too? C'mon Bischoff!"        

  Eric Bischoff: "Aren't you a Horsemen? Don't you guys thrive for the spotlight? If you become the world TV champion, your gonna be defending that title all the time. C'mon Owen..... show me something tonight. Rise to the occasion! But whatever you do....get ready! Because your match is soon."          


Bischoff makes his way through the arena again and turns a corner and sees......


The IWA World tag team champions, Harley Race & Nick Bockwinkle!





 Eric Bischoff: "Gentlemen! What a pleasant surprise.  What can I do for you two?"        


 Harley Race: "Every where we go lately, all we hear about is the tag team Division here in WCW. You got The Freebirds..... Orton & Batista..... the Road Warriors..... the Lucha Brothers and so on. Well.....your looking at the greatest tag team on God's green earth! And we are here tonight to prove it! You pick any of them and we will defend these world titles tonight!"      

 Eric Bischoff: "Well.... how can I say no to an offer like that? Find you a dressing room and get ready. I will have you a match very soon."        


Bischoff again makes his way through the back when once again he is approached. This time it's Bobby "The Brain" Heenan and the IWA X Division champion..... MJF!




 MJF: "Bischoff..... you care to tell me what's going on around here? Ever since the draft took place, I've been over shadowed by all these new imbeciles arriving here.  Hell..... you don't even have me in the opening montage. Do I need to remind you who I am? I am the very first guy who brought world title gold here to WCW. Not Flair! And sure not that bimbo, Britt Baker! I deserve better! I deserve the spotlight. Now what are you going to do about it?"      



Bischoff looks down at the floor aggravated, then he looks back to where Race and Bockwinkle was standing. Bischoff pulls out a walkie talkie device from his jacket and speaks into it......


 Eric Bischoff: "Driver! Can you lead my guest in at this time please? You know MJF..... your right! You do deserve the spotlight. And that's exactly what your going to get tonight. Because you will be facing Harley Race and Nick Bockwinkle for the IWA Tag team titles tonight in our Main Event!"    

  MJF: "Well that's more like it! About time I get the respect I deserve. Wait.... wait a minute. Who's going to be my partner?"        

Eric Bischoff: "Relax champ.... I have that covered! It's someone you are going to get to know real well. As a matter of fact, he's your opponent at Violence of the Lambs! Let me introduce you to Brian Pillman!"  




Pillman walks into the shot and stares down MJF, who is stunned by the appearance of Pillman and the reality of having to team with him later tonight!





  Jim Ross: "Hello wrestling fans and welcome to this week's episode of Nitro! And Jesse, do we have a show lined up tonight as we aren't even five minutes into the show and Eric Bischoff has already announced two title matches for tonight as Owen Hart will defend the WCW TV Title against "The Total Package" Lex Luger. Then the IWA World tag team titles are on the line as Harley Race and Nick Bockwinkle will defend against the unlikely team of MJF and Brian Pillman!" 

  Jesse Ventura: "This is an outrage Jim Ross! Harley and Bockwinkle are two of the greatest to lace up a pair of boots. And we all know how great the IWA X Division Champion, MJF, is. But how can MJF trust a psychopath such as Brian Pillman?"     

  Jim Ross: "I'm not sure he can! But we are damned sure gonna find out in our Main Event.  Fans, right now it's time for our opening contest of the evening."      



  Match One: Mustafa Ali vs Buddy Murphy w/Zelina Vega             

Murphy struggled to find an answer to counter Ali's agility and high-speed offense. Forced to the outside, Murphy was finally able to stop Ali’s momentum with a running suplex on the arena floor. Murphy took control of the bout, utilizing his raw power and aggression to keep Ali grounded. But Ali battled back before both competitors took each other down with a double crossbody block.

Thinking quickly, Murphy showed off his own innovative ability by driving Ali into the turnbuckle to break a sleeper hold. Squaring off in the center of the ring, Ali and Murphy traded blows and counters that ended in a  tornado DDT by Ali on the ring apron into the ring that nearly secured him the win. Ali climbed the turnbuckles but was pushed away and sent crashing to the canvas. Murphy followed up with a sequence of knee strikes and a DDT of his own and a near-fall. After failing to secure the win, Murphy picked up his opponent and executed three powerbombs that nearly knocked Ali unconscious. Never one to quit, Ali remained in the fight and countered another powerbomb attempt into a facebuster. Once again going to the top rope, Murphy managed to push Ali to the floor, but an attempted high-flying maneuver was stopped in its tracks by a superkick from Ali. 1......2......NO!!!

Still unable to secure the win, Ali tried to execute the 054 on Murphy’s arm but Murphy moved and quickly attacked Ali’s arm with brute force. Focusing on Ali’s arm, Murphy drove him shoulder-first into the ring post multiple times and even countered a DDT from Ali that led to the execution of Murphy’s Law to get the pinfall and keep Murphys undefeated streak alive in WCW! As the replay is shown, Zelina takes the housemic.....






Zelina Vega: "Once again, my client Buddy Murphy proves why he is "Wrestlings Best Kept Secret!" But I guess it's no longer a secret about his ability is it? His undefeated streak proves what I say.... there isn't a man alive who can match him inside this ring. And very soon, I plan on......"  





  Jim Ross: "MY Gawd!! That's The Bastard....PAC!! And I have a feeling business is about to pick up!"       





  PAC: "I'm not sure who you are trying to convince more about the garbage coming out of your mouth.... these people.... or yourself! But I can bloody assure you that this man, Buddy Murphy, is nowhere in the league you try to put him in! As a matter of fact... I challenge you to a match at Halloween Havoc. And then, once I defeat you..... The Bastard, PAC, will show the entire world just who "Wrestlings Best Kept Secret" truly is!"

  Match Two: "The Total Package" Lex Luger vs Owen Hart for the WCW TV Title           

Owen is reluctant to tie up with Luger in the early going and stalls to stay away as long as he can..... until Luger goes right after him. Luger rocks Owen with a fierce clothesline followed up by a thunderous powerslam. It's obvious that Owens back is bothering him and Luger sees it too as he continues to work on the back of Owen. Luger uses a series of slams and suplexes to try and put Owen away. None if it works. So Luget goes to what he knows best..... The Torture Rack! He has Owen locked in. The fans are going nuts as the bell rings! Luger drops Owen and grabs the WCW TV title!! Luger holds it up high for the fans to see....... only for the ref to take it away from him. Luger questions the ref, who informs Luger that the match is a time limit draw! Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard come to the Horsemen partner and pull him out if the ring as Luger watches on. Then as Luger turns around he sees a woman on the outside of the ring........

  Match Three: Hangman Page vs Sammy Guevara                

After a lockup Page and Guevara stalemate and are split up by the referee, and then Page lights Guevara up with chops followed by a Big Boot after sending him into the ropes.  Page hits a Vertical Suplex into a float-over for a nearfall but then when he attempts a Backdrop Guevara lands on his feet. Guevara leapfrogs Page as he hits the ropes and then backflips over him and follows up with a gorgeous dropkick.

Page fakes Guevara out like he is going to charge him in the corner but stops and just slaps him. Guevara comes back with a Front Kick and then dives off the ropes with a Cross Body only for Page to catch him in midair and hit a Fall Away Slam. Page clotheslines Guevara over the top rope to the floor. Page follows Guevara out to the floor but as he tosses him back into the ring, Guevara quickly rolls back to the floor and trips Page off the apron and slams him into the guardrails. Back in the ring, Guevara hits a modified Samoan Drop for a nearfall and then climbs to the top.

Guevara calls for a high spot but just drops down and then smacks Page in the face and taunts the crowd as Page gets pissed off and starts laying into him with chops. Page attempts a Lariat but Guevara blocks it and then backflips to avoid another one. Guevara attempts a Superkick but Page blocks it and destroys him with a Lariat!

Page hits a Corner Clothesline followed by a Big Boot. Guevara rolls out to the apron and Page climbs out with him and attempts the Dead Eye, but Guevara blocks it and hits an Enziguri. Guevara then charges at him out of the corner only to eat a Sidewalk Slam onto the apron. In the ring, Page hits a nasty Powerbomb for a nearfall. Page tosses Guevara out to the floor again and then hits a Diving Moonsault off the top onto Guevara on the floor! Page rolls Guevara into the ring and he sets up for the Buckshot. Guevara turns around and Page nearly knocks Sammy put of his boots with it and gets the pinfall. Hangman grabs the housrmic.......





   Hangman Page: "Hey Jericho!!! I know your watching somewhere. Are you paying attention? Ortiz and Santana... they took off and left you. Jake Hager is nowhere to be seen. And I just beat the breaks off the last thing that was keeping The Inner Circle together. And now.... your all alone! And still yet, WCW isn't big enough for the both of us. At  Halloween Havoc, I'm gonna end it for good and run your ass right out of WCW!!"       



The cameras pan backstage where we see MJF and Brian Pillman......



   MJF: "Listen Pillman.... I know your not used to being in such high profile matches like the one we have coming up tonight against those old fossils Race and Bockwinkle. And I know you must have butterflies standing this close to greatness. But all you have to do is follow my lead tonight. Do exactly as I say and as incredible as it sounds, I can make you a world champion. "     


  Brian Pillman: "Follow your lead?? Are you forgetting who the veteran is here? You follow my lead and I will make you a double champion. Well until Violence of the Lambs when I take that X Division title from you that is!"  

  MJF: "I am the fastest rising superstar in all of wrestling. I've done things in two years that you haven't done your entire stinking career!  I'm the X Division world champion.... and as of now....I'm making myself the captain of this team. And I'm about to give you two lessons....the first one tonight when I show you how to properly dispose of ancient bodies.  And the second at Violence of the Lambs.... when I pull the trigger on your meaningless career. Because I'm MJF.... And I'm better than you..... and you know it!" 






***COMMERCIAL BREAK ***




  Gene Okerlund: "OHHHHH MY! What a night so far here on WCW Nitro! And joining me now, is the IWA World champion..... "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair! Champ we all know about the big match coming up at Violence of the Lambs where you will defend against Shawn Michaels. And I'm sure by now, you have heard the words and opinions from your challenger?"    




   Ric Flair: "MEAN..... BYGAWD......GENE!! They say that flattery is the most sincere compliment. And we all know that ever since the day that Shaen Michael's was big enough to use the restroom on his own, that he's wanted to be like Ric Flair! But once you get past his obsession of being me.... that's where the dreams end and the real comparison begins. I mean take a look..... I have the Horsemen..... and he has a Kliq! I'm three piece suits....and he's Levi jeans and tennis shoes. I'm the world champion...
And he's some regional top guy.  I'm the 60 minute man..... and from what I've heard from a few of the ladies..... he's a two pump chump!  And it's OK to have dreams, but sadly that's as close to being me as Shawn Michaels will ever get.  And at Violence of the Lambs I'm gonna walk that isle, as only I can do, and I'm gonna be the man who wakes him up out of this wanna be life he's dreaming about! WOOOOOOOO!!!!"  


The fans begin to cheer but unbeknownst to Flair..... Michaels has slid in the ring behind him.




Flair turns around,  RIGHT INTO SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!! HBK stands over Flair smirking then as Arn and Tully rush to the ring, HBK bails out before the can get their hands on him!



***COMMERCIAL BREAK ***




  Main Event: Brian Pillman and MJF vs Harley Race and Nick Bockwinkle for the IWA Tag Team titles     
MJF and Pillman instantly start arguing as soon as they get in the ring about who will start the match until Harley grabs MJF and nearly body slams him through the mat. Followed by a falling headbutt. MJF tags out as Pillman laughs at his efforts.  But he doesn't fare too much better as the world tag champs tag in and out working him over. MJF tags back in and rakes Bockwinkles eyes then uses every dirty tactic he knows. MJF tags Pillman and demands Pillman to cheat. Pillman defies MJF, which drives the X Division champion insane. After many times of MJF shouting instructions to Pillman and him not listening, MJF drops off the ring apron and grabs his X Division title as he and Heenan leave Pillman to fight for himself as they go to their dressing room. Inside the ring, Pillman tries to put up a fight for a few minutes but the world tag champs ate too much to handle as Race eventually puts him away with a piledriver to end the match. Race and Bockwinkle celebrate their win as show fades to black.
