Bobby Heenan: "He faced a Bum! Kingston is a nobody! Let's see Okada beat someone good, then maybe I will be impressed!"

Archer immediately hits DDP with the Blackout as soon as the bell rings  but DDP manages to roll out of the ring to avoid the pin. Archer drags DDP back in the ring and goes for his Claw Slam but DDP counters and locks him in an armbar. Archer kicks DDP in the face to break it and then just shrugs off a series of chops.

DDP goes for the Cutter but Archer kills him in midair with a Pounce…PERIOD! DDP again rolls out to the floor to get away from the MurderHawk Monster. DDP manages to come back and hit a Dropkick sending Archer into the barricade. DDP then climbs up on another nearby barricade but Archer grabs him and tosses him at least 10 yards.

Archer tosses DDP back in the ring and runs into a Pump Kick from DDP only for Archer to come right back with a Lariat. Archer rakes the eyes of DDP and then climbs to the top and walks the ropes New School style before capping it off with a Springboard Moonsault for a nearfall.

Archer goes for a Brainbuster but DDP catches him with a knee and connects with a Delayed Front Suplex. DDP goes for another Suplex but Archer counters with a Release Vertical Suplex. Archer rips the top turnbuckle off and then charges at DDP but he moves and Archer runs into the exposed buckle ribs first. DDP goes to work on the ribs and even wraps Archer’s body around the ring post and pulls.

DDP goes to the top but Archer cuts him off and Press Slams him over the ring post to the floor! Archer hits a Urange Suplex for a nearfall. Archer tries to rip DDPs ear off and then hits a modified Vader Bomb for another nearfall. DDP rolls out to the floor.

DDP fights back on Archer with a series of forearms but Archer blasts him with one of his own to lay him out. Archer rolls DDP up for a nearfall but DDP counters into a Crossface. DDP uses Archer’s own dreadlock to choke him with. Bobby Heenan climbs uo on the ringapron to get in the referee’s face.  Gorilla Monsoon: "What are you doing Brain? I'm guessing this guy is your big surprise?"

Bobby Heenan: "I didn't do anything! I was clearly pointing out to the ref that DDP was using an illegal choke hold! You know me Monsoon..... I'm a stickler for the rules!"

Gorilla Monsoon: "Give me a break! Fans it's time to get back to the......."

Opening Round Matchup: Mr. Perfect vs ??.

Heenan grabs the housemic.......

And as far as I'm concerned,  your done here in Gateway, pal! Because I'm about to introduce to you the man who is not only going to win this tournament, but he's going to end your pathetic career! Because he's better than perfect...... and you know it!"

The Arena nearly goes nuts as MJF makes his way to the ring. MJF and The Brain give each other a hug and a handshake as MJF gives Heenan his scarf and enters the ring.

Good mat wrestling to start the match with neither guy getting the advantage after a couple of minutes. MJF went for a move off the top, Perfect avoided it and Perfect got a clothesline for two. MJF showed his quickness while avoiding attack in the corner. MJF jumped off the top and Perfect hit two slick arm drags in a row leading to an armbar. Gorilla Monsoon: "ARE you kidding me? Come on ref..... a travesty of misjustice there! Perfect goes after the Brain and gets counted out. Hopefully Mr. Perfect chases him all the way down interstate 90!"

Opening Round Matchup: Dr. Death Steve Williams  vs Walter

These two was partners last night at Battlebowl, and Walter left Doc to fend for himself. Fans chant for Doc as Walter stands unphased in the center of the ring.. The bell rings and they lock up right away.. They jockey for control around the ring and Williams hits a judo hip throw to start things off. Walter headlocks Williams and gets whipped, and he tries to hit a shoulder tackle but Williams plays the immovable object and doesn’t budge. He tries again and Williams doesn’t move once more. A third running shoulder tackle attempt ends in a spinebuster from Williams. Williams hits a surfboard-like arm hold that stretches Walters back and arms, weakening them for later.

We get a power struggle as Walter tries to reverse the hold but Williams is firmly in control. Walter struggles and struggles and looks like he might finally reverse the hold on Williams, but Williams reverses that and regains control again. Walter gets a sudden reversal and hits a snap German suplex dropping Williams on his head. Williams gets up slowly but Walter hits a huge lariat that echoes through the building and sends Williams out the ring

Walter hits a DDT on the ringside mats and is firmly in control. He climbs the top turnbuckle and hits a diving lariat onto Williams. Walter hits a guillotine leg drop, sending Williams throat-first into the steel ring barricade. Back in the ring, Walter stomps away and then starts chopping Williams’ chest. He whips Williams into the opposite turnbuckle and hits another stiff clothesline followed by a single-knee backbreaker. Walter then applies the facelock in the middle of the ring. Williams tries to fight out but Walter continues with kicks and stomps. They’re both vertical as Walter hits a vertical suplex that gets the first two-count of the match. The facelock continues but Williams throws Walter over himself to break the hold.

Walter continues to stomp away and hits a guillotine version of an apron leg drop. Williams tries to fight some more, but Walter keeps hitting hard kicks to keep him down. Walter chops Williams hard and whips him into the opposite corner but Williams reverses it. Now Williams returns the favor and chops Walters chest, but Walter fires back with kicks. He whips Williams again and hits a jumping knee attack to Williams. Walter continues to chop Williams hard, but now Williams is no-selling Walters strikes. He gets a sudden second wind and starts hulking up Oklahoma-style.

Williams whips Walter...... who ducks a clothesline, but Williams shows ridiculous power by military pressing Walter over his head as the crowd gasps. He literally presses Walter a few times before dropping him straight down to the ringside mats below. The crowd chants "HOLY SHIT!"

We’re at the ten-minute mark as Williams hits a handspring elbow to Walter into the ring barricade. Williams picks him up and smashes him back-first into the ringpost twice and slams him hard into the ringside mats. Back in the ring, Williams tosses Walter into a nearby corner and Walter groans loudly.

Doc hits a vertical suplex of his own and starts kicking Walter as revenge for earlier. Williams applies a double-arm submission hold and then transitions into a nice release tiger suplex! 1.......2....... NO! Williams stomps again but Walter summons his BURNING SPIRIT and starts to gain momentum. He no-sells a few hard strikes and responds to a hard kick with an elbow smash to Williams. But Williams wants none of this and hits a hard shoulder tackle that sends Walter down for another two-count. They’re both supine as Williams hits a cradle but Walter literally kicks out.

Williams goes for the doctor bomb but Walter reaches the ropes. Then Williams starts to tease the Dangerous Backdrop. Walter holds onto the top rope for dear life, forcing Williams to let go, and hits a dropkick to Williams. Williams hits multiple chops and Walter responds with another shoulder tackle at the 15-minute mark.

They both start slapping each other hard and Walter wins that exchange with a spinning kick they start brawling ringside and Walter whips Williams into the barricade then does a clever move by hooking Williams’ head, jumping onto the barricade and sends Williams face-first into the ringside floor with a huge DDT. Walter charges Williams as he gets up, but Williams catches Walter and plants him on the ringside mats with a huge powerslam. Williams teases the Dangerous Backdrop again but Walter gets to the barricade as quick as he can to protect himself.

They both get back into the ring and Williams chops away. But Walter reverses an Irish whip into the corner and then hits a bulldog on Williams. Walter is in control as he hits machine gun chops on Williams’ chest followed by another jumping kick. He whips Williams again and charges but Williams answers with a running dropkick that sends them both down as Gorilla wonders on commentary what it's going to take for either man to win this!

The crowd chants for Doc as they both get up slowly. Williams attempts a three-point stance football tackle but Walter answers with a sleeper hold. Williams struggles hard and tries to break the hold by falling backwards with Walter still on his back, but Walter refuses to let go and locks in the bodyscissors to keep the pressure on. Walter shows his aggression by not breaking the hold right away when Williams reaches the ropes. Because he knows he has to do whatever he can to beat Williams.

Both of them are struggling as the 20-minute mark passes. Williams hits a huge stinger splash into the corner and climbs the turnbuckle with Walter still sitting there. But Walter suddenly gets another burst of strength and hits a second rope superplex for a 2.5-count. He hits another DDT and goes for another, but Williams tries to reverse that, but Walter reverses the reversal and succeeds with that DDT, planting Williams yet only gets a two-count. Williams looks completely out of it as Walter hits three leg drops. Wamter hits a perfect bridging German suplex but it only gets 2.5.

Walter scoop slams Williams and hits a perfect moonsault, but Williams kicks out at 2.8. This crowd suddenly became unglued. Walter continues with the leg drops and tries a splash but Williams gets his knees up at the last second. Williams is up first and hits the football tackle. He goes for the doctor bomb but doesn’t land it perfectly, which allows Walter to capitalize with a pin attempt but only gets a two-count. Walter hits a luge lariat but it too only gets 2.5 at the 25-minute mark.

Walter tries the jumping knee into the corner but Williams dodges, allowing him to hit the Oklahoma Stampede!!! 1........2...... Walter kicks out at 2.9. Williams is in full control as he hits a lariat of his own but again Walter kicks out. Walter tries to fight back with chops to Williams’s head and tries a roll-up, but Williams kicks out. They charge each other and Walter tries to lock in a sleeper hold, but Williams hits an enormous Dangerous Backdrop.  Walter got dropped straight on his head. He’s completely motionless in the middle of the ring! Doc covers, 1.......2........3!!! After 28 minutes, Dr. Death advances!!!

Gateway Television Title Tournament Bspuckq

Gorilla Monsoon: "Fans in all of my years in this great business, I don't believe I have ever witnessed a match like that one! Talk about irresistible force against the immovable object! I hope Mike Smith signs a match between these two behemoths again down the line! But after nearly 30 minutes of hard hitting action, one has to wonder how much gas Dr. Death will have the remainder of this tournament!"

Gorilla Monsoon: "How about that?? Mr. Perfect getting some revenge here tonight! You can bet that won't sit well with The Brain, who has still yet to make it back here! Who knows, we may never see him again. And I'm OK with that!!"

Semi-Final Match: Steve Williams  vs Lance Archer

This started as a hot brawl. They briefly fought on the floor, but they ended up back in the ring soon enough. Archer went after Williams’ left arm. Williams put a stop to Archer’s momentum by sending him into a ringpost. Williams was then in control for a few minutes. Archer was busted open, and Williams had all of the momentum. Archer fought back and hit a running knee. Williams cut him right off though. Archer caught Williams with a big boot and then hit a desperation shoulder tackle. Williams cut him right off again. Archer avoided a piledriver on the concrete floor to save his life and the match. Archer was a bloody mess at this point and still seemed punch-drunk. Doc superplexes Archer! Then connects with the Oklahoma Stampede to win! Dic advances to the finals!

Gorilla Monsoon: "Fans I have to say..... Dr. Death has been the mvp of this tournament in my book! First the classic match against Walter and now soundly defeating Lance Archer! Question is...... can he pull the hat trick in the finals against Okada?

Tournament Finals: Okada vs Steve Williams for the Gateway tv title

As Okada makes his way to the ring, he is jumped from behind by Batista! Batista sends Okada shoulder first into the steel post then kicks away at Okada on the floor until security rush out to stop it. They escort Batista away as Okada struggles to get inside the ring. Dr. Death tells the ref he doesn't want the match under these circumstances but Okada says he will compete!!

Doc overpowers Okada in a pair of opening lockups, but gives Okada space to recover each time. Okada shoots off the ropes but is unable to budge the big OU Sooner standout. Doc crosses over, grabbing Okada from the air and sending him rolling to the floor with a fallaway slam. Doc does some guardrail damage to Okada, allowing him to slowly crawl back into the ring, where Doc ppunds on Okada’s back. A running vertical suplex gets Doc a two count. After both men struggle for suplexes, Okada gets his first real offense in with a DDT and flapjack. Williams immediately makes it to the ropes after a Money Clip attempt. Okada hits the DDT on the floor and a neckbreaker back inside gets a two count around the ten minute mark.

Doc slows Okada’s roll with a dropkick and a leaping European uppercut, and pulls Okada out of the corner into a Spin Cycle. Williams lifts Okada from the floor while standing on the second rope for a suplex, but ultimately uses a leaping dropkick to set up a fallaway gutwrench suplex from the second rope!!! Now Doc is calling for the Oklahoma Stampede but Okada hits a shotgun dropkick. There’s an exchange of tombstones without either man releasing their hold! Another Money Clip attempt doesn’t last any longer, but Okada hits a top rope elbow, setting up the Rainmaker pose about eighteen minutes in. A quick counter sequence leads to Doc hitting his own Rainmaker.

Both men are knocked down after a standing forearm exchange. Okada uses the Money Clip to forestall the Oklahoma Stampede and hits a spinning Rainmaker, but Doc headbutts his way out of a follow-up attempt. Okada wriggles out of another Stampede attempt, hitting an enziguri and an Emerald Flowsion but Doc rebounds off the ropes with a devastating lariat. Congratulations are in order!"

Gateway Television Title Tournament FVgM2U1

Dr. Death: "Thank you Mean Gene! I want to start off by tipping my hat to Okada! It was unfortunate that Batista had to stick his nose where it didn't belong tonight. But Okada, I want you to go to Wrestlemania tomorrow and handle your business. Then when your ready..... I have a rematch for this title waiting anytime you want it! And that goes for anyone else back there as well. All you gotta do is put your name on the dotted line!"
