We are in New Jersey as MLW has come to the campus of Rutgers University at the JERSEY MIKE’s ARENA and the crowd is standing-room-only ….

Mauro and Pat talk about the

Charly Caruso is in the ring to start the show and she introduces  AJ Styles …. AJ puts over Hangman Page as being a tough cowboy, but says he’s not Phenomenal …. There is only one phenomenal and that is AJ Styles …. Charly asks him about the rumors circulating on social media about AJ’s future, and AJ says he would be lying if he said he was happy with his current position in the company …. He came to MLW because he wants to fight the best …. Guys like Kenny Omega, Roman Reigns and even Hangman Page ….

AJ is cut off by the arrival of UWF World Junior Champion and MLW Openweight Champion Will Ospreay!!!!  

OSPREAY: “Bruv!  I keep hearing this same shit from all you wankers.  ‘I  want to face the best!  I came to MLW to face the best!’  Then you spew out these names like Kenny Omega?  Like Roman Reigns?  You want to name off EVERY name but THE name.  You want your spot in this company to change?  Bruv, I’m standing right here!  You’re looking at the top spot!  You see AJ, I think there is a reason you didn’t mention my name.  It’s because you’re scared of me!  And do you want to know why you’re scared?  Because I destroy this notion that your phenomenal.  I destroy this aura that there are things in this ring that only you can do, because I can do it all!  When people talk about the real main event, the real Ace of MLW, they aren’t talking about Roman Reigns, they are talking about Will Ospreay.  You want to test yourself against the best?  Then say … my fucking … name!”

AJ isn’t rattled and he says he’s kept his eye on Ospreay for a long time …. He has heard Ospreay running his mouth ever since he came to MLW …. And for someone who claims to be the top guy, he sure is insecure to keep having to mention AJ’s name …. Now he thinks he can come out here and say whatever he wants.  He thinks he can put AJ Styles’ name in his mouth over and over again and nothing will happen?  Ospreay is gonna find that his words have consequences.  He talks about being on another level, but he keep having to mention AJ’s name to legitimize himself.  So now that Ospreay has AJ’s attention, he’s going to make an example out of him …. He wants AJ to challenge him?  AJ officials issues the challenge!  He points at the UWF Junior title …. Ospreay says that belt makes him the best in the world, but AJ has held it MORE THAN ONCE!  And he’s going to be the one that takes it from Ospreay!  So after he takes care of this issue with Hangman Page tonight, he’s coming for that and we can find out who the real Ace of this company is …

What a moment!  AJ and Ospreay stare each other down to end the segment, with the announcers saying that Trump needs to make this match happen ASAP!

Excellent back and forth match …. The crowd is split on who to cheer for, and these two keep it clean for the majority of the match …. But as the match approaches the time limit, we see Gargano pull out more heelish tactics to try to get the win …. Lethal goes for the Lethal Injection, but Gargano cuts him off with a superkick to the back of the head!!!!  Gargano sets for One Final Beat, but Lethal catches him in the Lethal Combination!  Right into the Coji Clutch!  Gargano is trapped!  He fights to the ropes, but can’t make it and he has to tap! …. </p></center>

The House of Black dominates the former 6 man tag team champions, as Murphy looks especially impressive with his combo of strikes and power moves …. Black takes out Taylor with the Black Mass, then the House hits Dante’s Inferno on Horner for the 3 count ….</p></center>


We get an in-ring promo from Deonna Purazzo and (VAL)Kyrie …. Deonna is still wearing the MLW Womens title even though Britt Baker is actually the champion …. Purazzo says she has never lost the MLW women’s title since it was created …. She claims to still be the rightful champion and that is why she has the belt …. Britt Baker has had the title almost one year, and she has done nothing to elevate it the way Deonna has elevated it ….

Bakers music hits and she comes out, but security comes out and gets in between them …. Deonna laughs at Baker and says at Shine 3 Baker is all alone because no one is going to be her partner …. While Baker is trying to get to Deonna, she doesn’t notice Serena Deeb come out behind her and she blindsides her!  Serena puts the boots to her before security pulls her off ….

POWERHOUSE HOBBS

REX STEINER

We see that this match came about due to an exchange between the two on Twitter, where Steiner criticized MLW for giving Hobbs a shot at the Openweight title instead of him …. Steiner even eludes to holding out of his current contract if Trump doesn’t give him the opportunities he deserves …. Hobbs responded to Steiner on Twitter, leading to this match getting booked ….

This is a big hoss fight with both of these powerhouses slapping meat in the ring …. Steiner hits the press powerslam only for Hobbs to kick out, and Hobbs hits the Making Towns but Steiner survives …. Hobbs fights out of the Steiner Recliner, then dodges a spear that sends Steiner crashing into the buckles …. Steiner gets his bell ring after hitting his head on the ringpost during the move, which allows Hobbs to plant him with the Book of Hobbs and get the 3 count in what some consider to be an upset …. </p></center>

Baker is selling her neck after the blindside attack earlier, but she starts fast …. Deeb concentrates her offense on the neck, but Baker battles back …. Baker with the air raid crash and goes for lockjaw, but Deonna hits the ring and breaks it up causing the DQ finish ….</p></center>

POST MATCH: Deonna gets in Britt’s face and tells her she’s all alone …. This fires Baker up and she fights off both women and gets her hands on the MLW Women’s title!  She is gonna KO Deonna with the belt, but before she can Deonna cuts her off …. This leads to Deonna getting the belt back and she KO’s Baker with it instead …. Once again (VAL)Kyrie stand tall ahead of Shine 3 ….

‘Hangman’ ADAM PAGE

While the last match was built on respect between these two, this one seems a lot more personal as both men come out a lot more aggressive …. Page seems to be out to prove something, indicating that AJ’s win at the Bash was a fluke …. AJ doesn’t appreciate that and comes out aggressive as well ….

Unlike the first match, AJ controls most of this match, even putting Page through the ringside table with a Phenomenal Forearm from the ring to the floor!



AJ tosses Page back in the ring …. 1 … 2 … NOOOOO!  AJ goes for the Styles Clash, but as he gets him up Page kicks away at AJ’s head to break it …. AJ goes for it again, but Page reverses into the Deadeye out of nowhere!  AJ’s head is driven right into the mat and his eyes are glassy! …. Both men are down, but Page slowly rolls to the apron …. He pulls himself up …



BUCKSHOT LARIAT!!!!  AJ does the flip bump to sell it and lands awkwardly on his head/ neck …. Page slowly crawls over and lays an arm across AJ … 1 … 2 … Nooooooo!  AJ kicks out!  Page picks him up for the Deadeye, but AJ fights out … INTO THE STYLES CLASH!  AJ can’t make the cover and both men lay on the mat exhausted …. The bell rings!!!!  The fans are confused, but Samantha Irvine gets on the mic and announces that the time limit has expired and the match is a draw! …. </p></center>

POST MATCH: Neither AJ or Page are satisfied with the decision and they want more time …. The match is restarted much to the delight of the fans!

AJ and Page meet in the middle and it’s a hockey fight!  Page rocks AJ with the rolling elbow, then both men spill to the floor with a cactus clothesline!  Page with the Urihara moonsault takes out AJ!  Page tosses him back in and sets for another Buckshot Lariat …. RIGHT INTO THE PELE KICK!  The ref is checking on Page as AJ goes to the apron for the Phenomenal Forearm, but Will Ospreay is here!  He grabs AJ’s leg, causing him to hit the back of his head on the ring apron!  Ospreay with the Hidden Blade behind the referees back!!!!  AJ is out on the floor, and the ref starts the count!  He reaches 10 and AJ is counted out!!!!  </p></center>


POST MATCH: Ospreay hits the ring and immediately jumps on AJ as soon as the bell rings …. Page just watches on and doesn’t get involved, but it doesn’t take long before Page has seen enough and pulls Ospreay off …. Page sends Ospreay to the floor, and he heads for the back …. Page and AJ are face to face in the ring …. Page pleads his case not knowing about Ospreay’s interference, and the two shake hands to end the segment ….


We go to the announcers, and they talk about MLW’s upcoming biggest show of the year …. This leads us into a hype video for the show ….



We come back to a shot of the ring as Roman Reigns’ music hits!!!!  Reigns comes out to the ring and he calls out the Tongans …. He’s out here alone, and he lays out the MLW title and the UWF world title in the ring and says he’s the High Chief and MLW is his Kingdom!  This is his crown!  He takes off the ceremonial Ula Fala and lays it on top of the titles, then says if Haku thinks he’s the king, and he wants MLW then come and take it from him ….

The music of the Guerrillas of Destiny hits!!!!  Out comes Haku along with the MLW tag team champions!  Reigns says it just needs to be about him and Haku, and Haku takes off his robe and starts to the ring …. BUT SOLO SIKOA COMES OUT OF NOWHERE AND ATTACKS HAKU FROM BEHIND!!!!  This is for his brothers!!!!  Solo attacks with a chair and brawls with the Tongans but is overwhelmed!  Reigns flies over the top rope with a dive that wipes out everyone!!!!  Reigns sizes up Haku and charges for the spear, but Haku catches him in the Tongan Death Grip!  Haku chokes Reigns to his knees, BUT HERE COMES SOLO WITH THE SAMOAN SPIKE!  Haku briefly let’s go, and that’s enough of an opportunity for Reigns to spear him through the barricade!!!!  But even this doesn’t keep Haku down for long as he is back to his feet as the locker room empties to break up the huge brawl ….
