Match Six: Bayley vs Toni Storm made her way to the ring first, to an explosive reaction from the crowd. “Toni! Toni!” chants broke out as the announcers hyped her wins, and how dangerous she is in the ring.
Bayley came out next to a huge ivation as well and it seems the live audience is torn between the two women.
The two met in the center of the ring for a handshake. The crowd cheered as the bell rang. They stared at one another from across the ring for a moment before locking up. They traded arm holds, before Bayley took Storm to the mat with a headlock into a pin, for a one count. Storm escaped and applied a headlock of her own, rolling into a cover which Bayley kicked out of at one and a half.
Bayley escaped, and immediately locked in a head scissors on Storm. Storm struggled out, and reapplied the side headlock. Bayley escaped again, into a headlock of her own. Storm escaped, and was met with a swift kick to the chest. The two circled each other in the ring once again and tied up. Storm continued working the neck and shot Bayley off the ropes. She went for a shoulder block, and Bayley barely flinched. Storm went for a second shoulder block, and literally bounced off Bayley who stood tall. Storm landed a big boot to knock Bayley off her base and to the mat. She covered, and Bayley kicked at one.
Storm delivered a series of kicks to a prone Bayley. She gets Bayley to her feet and head-butts her, sending her reeling as Paige yells instructions for Storm to stay on Bayley. Another head-butt into a cover for two. Storm hit a suplex for another two count. Bayley fought back with swift kicks to the hamstrings repeatedly before locking in a modified figure four leg lock. Storm was writhing in pain, trying to escape but Bayley reapplied the hold and kept Storm incapacitated until Storm barely reached the ropes. Bayley continued the assault on the legs and hamstrings, while Storm sold the offense by having trouble getting to her feet. Bayley whipped Storm into the corner and followed it up with a forearm to the face. She locked the waist of Storm, possibly looking for a German suplex, but Storm fired back and escaped. Bayley ran the ropes and hit a spinning heel kick to take Storm down again.
Bayley landed a series of uppercuts, when Storm blocked one and countered into a back-slide pin attempt for two. She then immediately went for a modified STF on Bayley who desperately tried to escape. Storm had the hold applied for quite some time, bringing Bayley back to the center of the ring each time she squirmed her way closer to the ropes as Paige nods in approval. Screaming in pain, Bayley finally was able to get to the ropes to break the hold.
Storm went back on the offensive, and landed a hip attack in the corner into a bridging fisherman’s suplex for a near fall. Bayley rolled out of the ring towards the ramp to catch her breath. Storm looked around at the crowd and then ran the ropes for a suicide dive, taking Bayley out. Storm appeared to hurt her elbow in the dive. Back in the ring, Storm hit a Shining Wizard! 1.....2.......NO!! Storm was selling the elbow, so she threw repeated kicks to Bayley’s face. Each kick enraged Bayley until she finally unleashed on Storm with a series of strikes and kicks, before landing a DDT. She then ran the ropes, did a handspring and landed a knee to the back of a prone Storm’s head. She picked Storm up looking for the Death Valley Driver and drove Storm to the mat. 1......2.......NOT TODAY! Storm kicked out at 2 and 7/8ths, garnering a major pop from the crowd.
Bayley briefly argued with the ref and waited in the corner for Storm to get up. Bayley went to attack, and Storm blocked it with a German Suplex into Storm Zero!! 1.......2...... NOT TODAY! Bayley barely kicked out! Paige can't believe it as the crowd broke out into “This is awesome!” chants.
Storm makes it to her feet and tried setting up another Storm Zero. Bayley wiggled out of it, hit a Pele kick and followed it up with a boot to the face. She rolled Storm up for a two count. Bayley up, ran the ropes and delivered this thunderous kick to the back of Storm’s head. She rolled Storm up again, and Storm found the strength to kick out before the third count. Bayley picks Storm up for an airplane spin and Storms feet takes out the ref! Bayley puts Storm on the top turnbuckle! She wants the Bayley- to- Belly off the top!!! The crowd is going nuts! Bayley lifts Storm up...... BAYLEY - TO- BELLY OFF THE TOP ROPE!! BOTH WOMEN ARE DOWN FROM THE IMPACT!
Outside the ring, Paige grabs a chair and slides it in the ring, yelling for Storm to finish Bayley off. A groggy Storm sees the chair and slides it away!! Paige enters the ring and grabs the chair......she's Stalking Bayley with it waiting for Bayley to rise up! Bayley begins to stumble up to her feet......AND PAIGE SWINGS THE CHAIR AND NAILS........ TONI STORM!!!!
Paige smirks as she stands over Storm. Then she sees Bayley up to her feet. Paige nails Bayley with the chair as well. Paige drops the chair and grabs Storm....... PAIGE TURNER TO STORM!
The crowd is booing as loud as they can as Paige rolls out of the ring and Mean Gene runs up to her........
Gene Okerlund: "PAIGE.....WHAT IS THE HELL IS THE MEANING OF ALL THIS?" Paige: "Was you not listening to me? Just minutes ago I promised everyone that when this match was over, that everyone would know exactly what kind of champion Toni Storm is! SHE"S WEAK! DOESNT HAVE THE KILLER INSTINCT! SHE WILL NEVER BE ANYTHING WITH NO BACKBONE! And I exposed her for the person she is! Pathetic and weak!" Jim Ross: "I gotta tell fans.....that was one heluva match between two of the best women's wrestlers going today......Toni Storm and Bayley......until Paige had to ruin it all and betray her student. What a cowardly act. And you better believe that some where.....some way.....Toni Storm will be looking for revenge!" Match Seven: Rob Van Dam vs MJF For the IWA X Division title RVD quickly applies a side headlock, but MJF takes him down with a drop-toe-hold. MJF goes for a front face lock, but RVD gets out of it. They stand up quickly in a stalemate. They circle around the ring again before locking up. MJF applies a side headlock, and RVD whips him off. MJF runs him over with a shoulder block before hitting the ropes. RVD leapfrogs and backflips over him before taking him down with a rolling wheel kick. RVD does his taunt to the delight of the crowd.
They circle the ring a third time before MJF kicks him and takes him down with a headlock takeover. MJF keeps the headlock applied, and RVD fights up to his feet. RVD elbows out, but MJF takes him down with a dropkick to the back of the head for a two count. The crowd is chanting for RVD, and MJF stares out at them. MJF turns around into a jumping heel kick. RVD charges, but MJF ducks. RVD flies over the top rope to the outside. MJF follows him outside and bounces his face off the barricade. MJF goes to drive his head into the steps, but RVD blocks it. RVD does the maneuver to MJF. RVD gives MJF a front suplex onto the barricade before getting on the apron. RVD does his taunt before hitting a diving spin kick to the back of MJF. Both men are down
MJF picks him up and puts him in the corner. MJF climbs to the second rope and unloads with the classic ten punches to the head. MJF whips him to the opposite turnbuckle and runs into a back elbow. RVD climbs to the top rope, and MJF quickly pushes him off to the outside. RVD hits the barricade on the way down. MJF goes outside and gives him a back suplex onto the barricade. MJF throws him into the ring and covers him for a near fall. MJF grabs him by the hair and applies a chin lock. MJF holds it in for a bit before RVD begins fighting up. RVD elbows out and hits some punches. RVD clotheslines him a pair of times before ducking one and hitting a superkick to the throat. RVD drops him with a falling slam before hitting the split-legged moonsault for a near fall. RVD goes to the top rope and takes him down with a summersault senton for another near fall. RVD goes for a monkey flip, but MJF sidesteps him. RVD lands on the second rope, and MJF clubs at him before hitting his backbreaker! MJF slowly covers for a near fall. MJF slowly clotheslines RVD down a pair of times before ducking one and hitting a powerslam for a near fall. MJF puts him on the apron for a hanging DDT, but RVD pushes him back to the center of the ring for a northern lights suplex for a near fall. RVD charges, but MJF back body drops him to the apron. RVD shoulders him and goes for a springboard maneuver, but MJF dropkicks him back to the apron. MJF then executes his hanging DDT. MJF goes for Salt if the Earth, but RVD kicks him in the face. RVD rolls him up with his legs for a near fall. RVD blocks a kick and hits a step-over spinning heel kick to the face. RVD immediately follows up with Rolling Thunder before pulling himself up to the top rope. MJF rolls out of the way of the Five Star Frog Splash before dropping RVD with a Double Cross for the win! MJF retains the IWA X Division title.
As MJF celebrates his victory the cameras pan backstage where we see The Freebirds, Michael Hayes and Terry Gordy sitting at a table, drinking whiskey.........
Michael Hayes: "Ya know Bam Bam, we have made some noise in this thing they call rasslin! Knocked a lot of heads. Been one helluva ride my Brother!" Terry Gordy: "Michael......the ride ain't over my man! This ain't goodbye brother.......just a see ya down the road! Here......lets have another shot......for old times sake! To Badstreet USA!" Michael Hayes: "To Badstreet USA ...... Indeed!" The cameras pan back to the ring where we see WCW General Manager, Eric Bischoff........
Eric Bischoff: "Unfortunately we have hot the point of the show where we can no longer wait on Adam Cole! I've tried repeatedly throughout this day to contact him......he's not responding. So I have no choice.....referee if you would ring the bell and start a countout please!" The ref obliges and calls for the bell. No Adam Cole in sight! 1......2.......3.......4........5...... 6....... 7.........
Then out comes.......
Tony Khan???
Tony Khan: "Pardon my interruption Eric! I hate to disrupt such a great show but I have announcement to make. But first I would like to ask all these great people if they can remember the first time they realized that they loved this great sport of professional wrestling? And what it would be like to own a company? To put on matches the fans are dying to see? Well..... as of today...... I can say that I now can do all that. As I have purchased AEW!" Eric Bischoff: "What's the meaning of this Khan? Big deal!! You bought a wrestling companies name! And nothing else! Who cares? Do you actually think that your coming out here and breaking your such big news on my time? On my show? Why are you even here?" Tony Khan: "Well your kinda right Eric! No I didn't get all the talent that was in AEW or the company now known as Terminus. Your right about that. But I did meet with Gorilla Monsoon and petitioned to have AEW be part of the IWA. And thankfully, that request was granted!" Eric Bischoff: "Again, trying to promote your company on my time! WCW time! Either cut to the chase of why you are here or get the hell out of my ring!" A man walks up to the ring and hands Khan a black bag.
Tony Khan: "But my news does indeed involve you and WCW, Eric! And before i go any further, i would like to say that you put on a solid show for these fans tonight. But...... you dropped the ball. The show is loaded. Bit where are the Young Bucks? Wheres Steve Austin at? You dont think these fans would want to see those guys? See, while I was meeting with Monsoon, he granted me a #1 draft pick! To bring in anybody I want to AEW with thar pick! And before I do that, I've been asked to return this to you!" Khan hands Bischoff the black bag. Bischoff opens it up and we see....... the WCW Heavyweight title! Bischoff looks confused.
Tony Khan: "That is your title! It belongs to WCW. And now that you have it back. I can officially say, that with that #1 draft pick...... AEW SELECTS..... ADAM COLE TO ITS ROSTER!!!" Khan leaves the ring as Bischoff looks on stunned and the fans roar in approval. Then outta nowhere, "Stone Cold" Stve Austin enters the ring! Austin taps Bischoff on the shoulder, and Bischoff turns right around into a STUNNER FROM AUSTIN!!! The fans pop even louder as Austin stands over Bischoff laughing. Austin climbs the turnbuckles having a few cold ones as the fans cheer on.
Jim Ross: "WHAT IN THE BLUE HELL JUST HAPPENED HERE? Tony Khan has apparently purchased AEW and has taken Adam Cole away from WCW! What that means for the WCW Title I have no idea! And if Eric Bischoff wasnt having a bad enough night after that, "Stone Cold" adds salt to the injury and Stunners Bischoff's ass all to hell!!" Match Eight: Ronda Rousey vs Britt Baker for the IWA Womens World title They lock up at the sound of the bell before tussling to the corner. Rousey kicks Baker back and goes for some right hands, but Baker puts herself between the ropes. Britt gets a cheap shot in and hits a waistlock takeover. Rousey takes her down with a body scissor and goes for an ankle lock, but Baker quickly escapes. Baker goes after her, but Rousey goes for a triangle. Britt fights it. Rousey sends her to the corner, but Baker rolls up the turnbuckle and lands on the apron. Rousey grabs the arm, but Baker knocks her back. Baker heads to the corner, but Rousey kicks her back. Rousey applies a head-scissor while hanging over the ropes. The ref begins to count because Rousey won't release the hold. Rousey releases before being disqualified. Baker fights back and hits a falling elbow on the apron.
Brit gets on the apron and goes to kick her, but Rousey blocks it. Baker manages to pull her out of the ring, and Rousey hits the floor hard. Baker gets Rousey back in the ring and covers for a two-count. Baker applies a chin lock, but Rousey fights out. Baker viciously elbows her in the head for a near fall. Brit applies a dragon sleeper, but Rousey gets out. Rousey then viciously knees her in the face for a two-count. Britt is busted open from the blow.
Rousey grabs her, but Baker bounces her into the corner. Rousey counters back and hits a modified tornado DDT for a near fall. Rousey gets her to her feet, but Britt elbows her away. Rousey takes her down and kicks her in the head before hitting some judo throws. Rousey gets fired up, but Baker comes out of nowhere with a spear for a near fall! 1.....2.....NO! Britt cannot believe Rousey kicked out. She lifts Rousey and hits a back suplex. Baker tries for a standing moonsault. Rousey kicks out at one. Baker quickly takes her down with chops and puts her in the tree of woe before kicking away at her. Baker quickly knocks her down with a forearm of her own. Rousey goes to the top rope and hits an arm drag off the top rope for a near fall. Rousey gets Baker up for Piper’s Pit and connects. Rousey grabs the arm for an armbar, but Baker gets out. Rousey hits a knee to the bloody face of Baker, but Britt instinctively responds with a big boot. Both women are down. Baker goes for the Lockjaw, but Rousey flips her down. Rousey hits a snap powerslam for a near fall. Rousey lifts her, but Baker counters into a roll-up. Rousey rolls through and applies an ankle lock. Baker claws toward the ropes and twists out. Baker then applies an ankle lock, but Rousey rolls through and sends her headfirst into the turnbuckle.
Rousey goes for an armbar, but Baker counters with a vicious slam for a near fall. Rousey soon takes her down and applies an ankle lock. Baker screams in pain and claws to the ropes, so Rousey grapevines the leg and cinches the ankle lock in! A bloody Britt screams in pain but kicks out. Baker goes for a Boston Crab, but Rousey gets out and goes for an armbar. Baker gets out and applies the Lockjaw! Baker cinches it in, but Rousey twists out and turns her over. Baker gets to the bottom rope and pulls them out of the ring. Rousey gets up and charges Britt and Baker grabs her and sends her into the barricade.
Britt talks trash to Rousey and shoves her a few times. Rousey blocks a boot and hits Piper’s Pit. Rousey covers, 1.......2.......but Baker gets a boot on the bottom rope. The ref argues with the ref, which leads to her downfall as Baker grabs Rousey by her tights and rolls her up to get the pinfall victory!
Jim Ross: "Alot of people heading into tonight gave Britt Baker zero chance of walking out of that match with the championship intact. Is she beat up? Yes! Is she a bloody mess? Hell yes! Is she still the IWA Womens World Champion? Yes she is! And to be honest, I'm not sure there's anyone in the radar who can beat this young lady right now! Fans.....it's time for our Main Event of the evening and it does get any bigger...... or personal than this!" Main Event: Dusty Rhodes vs Ric Flair for the IWA World title Intense stare-down to begin, cautious approach from both men. Lock-up, Flair has Rhodes in the corner. Flair goes to trade punches, bad ideas as Rhodes jabs his way and knocks down the champion. Elbow and big thrust sends champion to the floor. Flair hops over the guardrail for his breather, re-evaluation time for The Nature Boy. Knees from Flair, right hand to the face but Rhodes lands elbows to get back into the match. Shoulder block and elbow from Rhodes, Flair is begging off and powders once more. Flair steps in for round three, Rhodes is confident at this point. Lock-up and side headlock from Flair, Rhodes counters for a hammerlock. Flair runs around the ring before going to the mat, Flair makes it to the ropes before attacking the leg of Rhodes.
Flair goes low and starts chopping, Rhodes eats a mean right to the head. Snap-mare into that knee-drop which finds the mark, Rhodes is in trouble. Barely one for Flair, Rhodes takes one kick to the leg and jumps over the guardrail. Flair tries attacking Rhodes who re-entering the ring but Rhodes blocks and delivers massive elbows to the back of the head, Rhodes stomps the leg of Flair. The fans love that, Rhodes giving Flair a taste of his own medicine. Massive elbow to the knee from Flair, Rhodes asks the fans if they want to see and delivers a big elbow to the knee but Flair rakes the eyes. Flair sells the leg, Flair wants a suplex but the leg gives out on the champion. Rhodes suplexes Flair, Rhodes delivers another elbow to the leg. Flair slaps on a sleeper to take out Rhodes but Rhodes runs Flair to the corner. Rhodes slips out of the ring and grabs Flair’s foot, Flair begs for mercy as Rhodes wraps that leg around the ring-post. Elbow to the ankle from Rhodes, Rhodes chops Flair and with a snap-mare, misses a crucial elbow drop. Flair decides to climb to the top rope, bad idea for the champion. Figure four is blocked by Flair, Rhodes is kicked off and clutches his knee. Chop and Figure Four does not connect for Flair, Flair is persistent though and tries again. Flair decides to work the leg first, Rhodes clubs at Flair with a giant headbutt. Irish whip with Flair flip to the floor, Rhodes smacks Flair off the guardrail.
Flair is bleeding. Flair is dragged into the ring, chops from the challenger. Flair kicks low and sends Rhodes to the floor, Rhodes decides to climb to the top rope. Diving crossbody for two, fans are in uproar as the referee was put of position. Rhodes lands right hands to the head of Flair, Flair wriggles free. Bionic Elbow decks Flair, ten punches in the corner from Rhodes. Flair flop to the mat, Rhodes is feeling the energy in the building at this point. Jabs stagger Flair, Flair is backing away. Flair flip to the apron, Flair tries an axe handle but Rhodes catches Flair with a gut shot. Rhodes tries a kick to the gut, Flair dodges and Rhodes hurts his aggravated knee. Flair begins to work, Flair drops all his weight down on the leg.
Knee-drop on the ankle, Flair lands a right-hand to the face. Figure Four in the middle of the ring, Rhodes is in terrible pain. Rhodes fights and fights, reversing the pressure and forcing The Nature Boy to release the hold. Flair chops at Rhodes, Rhodes is firing up now. Right hands and elbows from Rhodes, flying clothesline from Rhodes. Flair kicks out at two, Rhodes pulls Flair into the corner but takes out the referee by mistake. Rhodes and Flair scramble, Bionic Elbow and a figure four from Rhodes. Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard are here! A giant knee flattens Rhodes. 1….2… Rhodes kicks out! Scoop slam attempt by Flair but Rhodes counters into a small package, 1..2….3!
DUSTY RHODES IS YOUR NEEEEEWWWW IWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!
Jim Ross: "THE DREAM HAS DONE IT! THE DREAM HAS DONE IT! THE AMERICAN DREAM DUSTY RHODES IS THE NEW IWA WORD CHAMPION! FANS, WE ARE ALMOST OUT OF TIME BUT IF TONIGHT WAS ANY IDICATOR OF WHAT YEAR TWO WILL BE LIKE FOR WCW..... YOU BETTER FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELTS!"
