This is an action packed opener with 2 Americans well versed in the Lucha style. Kidman nails a Shotgun Dropkick that sends Austin to the floor. He goes for a Plancha but Theory catches him with a knee strike. Later Theory goes for a rolling cutter but Billy counters into a Saito Suplex. He hits a running Shooting Star for a near fall.
Theory gets Billy in Double Chicken Wing submission hold but Kidman doesn't quit. Kidman ducks a discus Lariat and hits a jumping enzuguiri to the back of of his head. Kidman goes for a Michinoku Driver but Theory escapes and hits a Dragon Suplex. Kidman lands right on his head and Austin grabs him and nails Theory of Revolution. He gets the 3 count.

2. Funaki vs Lio Rush
Funaki has had quick stops around the UWF but never got an extended stay. Same for Lio Rush. They both know winning this tournament can change that. A clash of styles as Funaki is more of a mat wrestler but he can go to the air when he wants. Lio is speed personified. He executes a Tilt-A-Whirl headscissors that sends Funaki to the floor. He then hits a Baseball slide knocking Funaki to the floor then hits a No ropes Somersault Plancha which gets a bunch of "Oooohs" from the Temple. He pulls Funaki up but he then shoves him chest first into the guard railing. Funaki gives him a back suplex on the floor. He returns to the ring. Lio struggles up and rolls back in.
Lio is in the corner as Funaki goes for a Splash but Lio evades it. He school boys him and goes right into a low angle enzuguiri. He covers for two. Lio sets up for Rush Hour but Funaki lands some elbows to stop it. STO by Funaki. He goes up and nails a Missile Dropkick. Funaki goes for INDEED (Inverted Tornado DDT). But Lio Counters into an inverted Frankensteiner. He then hits What A Rush (Twisting inverted double underhook Facebuster)! 1.. 2.. 3!

3. Hector Garza vs Ted Dibiasie Jr
Different match up here as both men are more strikers than technicians or high flyers. The fans are split in his one. Garza is a well known heel in Mexico and Dibiasie is the cocky son of Ted Dibiasie who has great success in the industry. Ted catches Garza with a Lariat then delivers a hanging Suplex. He goes for a knee drop but misses. Garza nails him with a big right hand. He then executes a Flapjack and covers for a two count.
The match heads to the floor and they battle into the crowd. Both men are beaten and bruised. Ted gets Garza in a Cobra Clutch. He has him down but he has to beat him in the ring. He carries him and rolls him in. He re-enters and sets up for a Piledriver but Garza backdrops him. Then nails a running kick to the face. He nails a Neckbreaker and goes up... Moonsault connects! 1.. 2.. 3!

4. Invader 3 vs Al Perez
The fans here back the star from Puerto Rico, Invader 3. Al Perez has has some small runs in the UWF but never any sustained push. Despite that he carries himself like a World Champion. The Temple tends to frown upon those who have not proven it here. Al is more of a High Impact wrestler. He gives Invader 3 a Gutwrench Suplex. He drives a few knees into the ribs. He goes for an Airplane spin but Invader turns it into a Tilt-A-Whirl Arm Drag. He dropkicks him over the ropes. Then nails a Suicida through the ropes. The fight continues back in the ring. Al has Invader 3 in a Rear Chinlock. 3 is able to rise and deliver an Electric Chair Drop. He goes up and nauils a Flying Cocobutt. 1.. 2.. No! He sets up for a Uranage but Perez elbows free. Spinebuster gets Al a near fall. He is choking Invader 3 on the bottom Rope. The referee is warning him to let him go. Finally he does and Invader is in the corner gasping for air. Perez goes for a corner splash and misses. Invader 3 climbs to the 2nd rope and is raining rights to the head of Perez. Perez then lifts him up and 3 hits his head on the ring post. He lands hard in the ring. Perez grabs him and gives him the Al-icopter Suplex. And gets the win.

Special Main Event: Latino Nightmare w/Kevin Sullivan vs Los Maximos - #1 Contenders Match
Sullivan leads his minions down to the ring. They have always been hated but after the attack on Pentagon Dark it's even worse. Out come Temple favorites Los Maximos to a great ovation. THis match gets heated really quick. Drago hits a running Blockbuster on Jose. He covers for two. Joel catches Vibora with a Springboard corkscrew leg lariat. Sullivan slides in a chair and Drago slams it across the back of Joel. Jose Superkicks the chair into the face of Drago. Joel tries to Superkick vibora but he catches the foot then pulls him in to a goozle and delivers a Chokeslam. He covers but it's broken up by Jose.
Later Los Maximos hit Vibora with a pair of flipping Leg drops. They double team Drago and then set him up for the Spanish Fly. But Vibora is up and slams them from off the ropes with each hand. Drago gets on Vibora's shoulders and hits 450 onto Jose. 1.. 2.. No!!! Vibora looks to give Jose a Snake Bite but Joel slams the chair across his back. Vibora is down in the corner. Drago catches Joel with an enzuguiri as he drops the chair. Drago goes to spew the Black mist into the face of Joel but Jose picked up the chair and shielded his bother's face with it. He smacks Drago with it. Then he turns and Vibora hits a big boot driving the chair into the face of Jose knocking him to the floor. Sullivan meanwhile, out of view of the ref, hits Joel with the metal spike. Vibora grabs him... Snake Bite! (Tombstone) He covers as Drago is holding Jose by the leg. 1.. 2.. 3!
