Matt Striker and Christy Hemme are ringside …. They recap RISE #7, the first show coming back from the Pandemic. Mia Yim interrupts the show opening and calls out Ronda Rousey. She says Ronda is probably back on the ranch growing her soy for her soy latte, but she needs to jump in her limo and come to the Globe Theater and face her. She says she is a fighter, well she can come fight her! SOCAL VAL comes out and says Yim had a chance to join her and maybe what happened last time wouldn’t have happened …. But Yim cares too much about the fans …. Well, SoCal Val replaced her! Not only did she bring in Valifornia, but she claims that ROUSEY is NOW her newest client! She accepts the challenge for RISE #9 on Rousey’s behalf!
TAYA VALKYRIE vs. EMBER MOON …. Good opening match that has the fans invested fully …. Moon wins with the Eclipse ….
Up next, BECKY LYNCH comes out …. She says her eyes have burned for the last week because of the Green Mist from ASUKA …. So now you can add ASUKA to the list …. She doesn’t care who it is, she wants to fight the best and she wants to fight everyone at the best and more aggressive version of themselves .... at Rise #7 TONI STORM wanted to come out and be her white knight and come to her rescue but she doesn’t need her help …. She didn’t come out to help TONI, and she doesn’t need TONI coming out to help her! …. The only thing she needs from TONI is a shot at the Phoenix championship!
This brings out TONI STORM. Don’t get it twisted mate, she didn’t come out to help BECKY, she came out to get her hands on TESSA …. Tension here between TONI & BECKY as they argue about who is going to fight TESSA first …. As far as BECKY wanting a title shot, TONI has said that she would be a fighting champion, so all she had to do was ask ….
This brings out TESSA BLANCHARD and the rest of VALKYRIE …. TESSA says no one deserves a shot more than her, so the match between BECKY and TONI isn’t going to happen …. If they both want her so bad then let’s make the match a TRIPLE THREAT. TONI has no problem with that and neither does BECKY …. TESSA says that she is going to take the PHOENIX title and use it as a stepping stone to take out ASUKA and win the World title!
JORDYNNE GRACE vs. JINNY …. Fairly competitive match, but GRACE’S power is too much …. GRACE wins via submission to the Steiner Recliner
AT THE PODIUM: TEGAN NOX & DAKOTA KAI interview …. They talk about their debut on the last RISE show and their plans for the future …. They have their sights on being the first womens tag team champions of the IWA era …. This brings out VALKYRIE (SASHA BANKS & BAYLEY) …. They laugh at TEAM KICK and they want to make them aware of pecking order here …. BANKS & BAYLEY are at the top of the food chain, and NOX & KAI are somewhere near the bottom …. Come back and talk to them when they are a household name …. Better yet, grab a seat and watch the next match and they can see how stars get it done ….
SASHA BANKS & BAYLEY vs. SHOTZI BLACKHEART & CHRISTINA VON EERIE …. Very good tag team match with the team of BLACKHEART and VON EERIE having a good showing for themselves …. They actually have the advantage late in the match and BLACKHEART has BAYLEY set up for the top rope senton but BANKS grabs her leg from the floor and pulls her out of the way …. BLACKHEAT crashes and burns …. BANKS tosses VON EERIE into the steps, then VALKYRIE hit a backstabber into the Bayley-to-Belly for the finish on BLACKHEART …
POST MATCH: TEAM KICK and VALKYRIE start clapping at each other as BANKS & BAYLEY take their leave ....
The Main Event for tonight is officially a triple threat match with TONI STORM defending against TESSA BLANCHARD & BECKY LYNCHJESSICKA HAVOK vs. XIA LI …. LI attacks at the bell with strikes, but HAVOK swats them away …. Choke Slam to LI stops all that and HAVOK takes over …. She dominates for a few moments before finishing LI off with the Demon Drop (air raid crash) ….
POST MATCH: HAVOK hits another air raid crash and is going to go for a 3rd until JORDYNNE GRACE comes out and gets in HAVOK’s face! We get a staredown between these two powerhouses, but HAVOK backs away smiling and leaves the ring …. Meanwhile, we see a shady-looking Asian dressed in a suit and sunglasses watching the events unfold from the ramp ….
Phoenix title match: TONI STORM vs. BECKY LYNCH vs.TESSA BLANCHARD These women beat the hell out of each other and turn up the intensity …. BECKY gets the Disarm-HER on TESSA and she is about to tap but TONI is in to break it up at the last minute …. BECKY tosses TESSA and she and TONI battle it out, heading to the top rope where TONI hits a top rope Storm Zero on BECKY! 1 … 2 … TESSA is back in to break it up! Buzzsaw takes out TONI and TESSA has BECKY pinned but there is no ref …. The fight continues and TESSA grabs the Phoenix title and tries to hit BECKY with it, but BECKY dodges it and gets the title instead …. BECKY KO’s TESSA with the belt! TONI comes in and quickly school boys TESSA for the flash pin before BECKY can break it up! TONI retains!
TONI celebrates with the title as BECKY is clearly frustrated in the ring ….
