Night 2: 'The Final Battle' from the Verizon Center in Washington DC

Attendance: 9,857



Match 1: Jeff Jarrett -vs- Booker T

Much like their match the night before, this one starts out as a brawl.  Jarrett isolates the knee that he injured in their match in Fairfax, and he works it with the figure four.  At one point during the match, Jarrett removes the padding to the top turnbuckle . . . Once again, Booker fights back but he is hampered by the injury . . . He connects with the Heat Seeker Missile Dropkick but hurts himself in the process.  Jarrett rolls outside and is handed a drink by a fan at ringside, and he tosses it in Booker's face!  Booker is blinded, and Jarrett grabs him from behind and hits the Stroke!  Booker kicks out!!!!  Jarrett tries for it again, but this time Booker tskes out Jarrett's legs and slingshots him into the unprotected turnbuckle!!!!  Jarrett stumbled out . . . RIGHT INTO THE BOOK END!  1 . . . 2 . . . 3!

Match 2: The Uso's (Jimmy & Jey) -vs- LAX (Homicide & Hernandez) w/ Konnan

Each one of these teams have won 1 encounter against the others.  The fans are STRONGLY behind the Uso's, as they seem to be gaining a lot of momentum here in SSW.  Both teams have their share of offense, and Konnan of course tries to get involved.  The Uso's appear to be on the verge of victory after Jimmy nails Homicide with the Superfly Splash, but Konnan enters the ring and attacks Jimmy before he can score the pin, which results in the DQ finish . . .

Match 3: Richie Steamboat  -vs-  Delirious

This match goes back and forth, and is one on one for a change since Bray Wyatt is not at ringside with Delirious . . . The action is so fast-paced that the crowd finds themselves cheering for BOTH guys in this one, which takes Delirious by surprise.  Richie gains the momentum late in the match, and manages to catch Delirious with the Buckle Bomb followed by a super kick to get the pinfall victory . . .

Match 4: 4 Corner Survival: Jay Lethal -vs- Magnus -vs- Eddie Edwards -vs- Bray Wyatt

This match is balls to the wall action from start to finish, containing some of SSW's young and rising talent . . . Delirious is at ringside and tries to interfere on behalf of Bray Wyatt, but this backfires and leads to Wyatt getting pinned by Eddie Edwards after the 2nd rope codebreaker!  Edwards then gets laid out by Wyatt, which leads to him getting pinned by Magnus after the 'Tormentum'!  Now it is down to Magnus and Lethal, and these two put on a show for nearly 10 more minutes.  Lethal survives all Magnus dishes out, including a Michinoku Driver on the ring apron!  Lethal hits 'Hail to the King' (Macho Man Elbow), but Magnus survives that too!  Magnus goes for the Warriors Death, but Lethal escapes and hits the Lethal Injection on the rebound to get the 3 count!!!!

Match 5: Tyson Kidd & Petey Williams -vs- C&C Wrestling Factory (Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander)

Neither one of these teams are on the SSW roster right now, but they get their chance to shine in this match.  The action is fast-paced throughout, and both teams dazzle the crowd with numerous innovative moves . . . In the end the team of Kidd & Williams emerge victorious after Williams hits Caprice with the Canadian Destroyer and scores the pin while Kidd keeps Alexander at bay . . .

After this match, SSW Television champion Sheamus comes out and puts Michael Elgin over from their match last night.  Instead of Elgin coming out alone, he comes out with Corey Graves, who is obviously the more vocal of the 2 . . .  Graves talks trash to Sheamus and tells him how he is going to take the TV title from him . . . Sheamus challenges them to come in the ring and fight, but Graves says he doesn't have a partner . . . Sheamus says he is wrong, and he brings out his partner for the match . . . KURT ANGLE!

Match 5: Sheamus & Kurt Angle -vs- Corey Graves & Michael Elgin

Crowd is HEAVILY behind Sheamus and Angle in this one, but Graves and Elgin show they belong in the ring with them . . . Elgin continues to show his incredible feats of strength, this time picking up both Angle and Sheamus at the same time and hitting a simultaneous fall-away slam/ Samoan Drop!  Elgin tosses Angle into the corner, then hits a buckle bomb onto Sheamus . . . INTO ANGLE!!!!  Elgin gets winded, which allows Sheamus to take him out with a Brogue kick that knocks him outside!  However, Graves clips Sheamus' knee from behind and goes to lock on the 13th step, but Angle breaks it up.  Angle and Graves go at it for a few moments with both Elgin and Sheamus down, and Graves nearly has the match won with the MK Ultra, but Angle reverses it into the ankle lock and gets the tap out victory over Graves . . .

Match 7: Samoa Joe & Christian Cage -vs- (SSW Genesis Champion) Shawn Michaels & Edge

Ref has a hard time getting this match under control from the start as all 4 men are brawling .... Joe is a beast in this one, but ends up finding himself on the wrong side of town and he is double-teamed .... Joe fights out and makes the hot tag, and Cage comes in and cleans house .... Joe comes back in and joins the fight as Cage takes out Edge with a suicide dive .... HBK goes for the Sweet Chin Music, but Joe blocks it and drills him with a Samoan drop .... Joe gets HBK set up for the Muscle Buster, but before he can hit the move he gets cut off by a vicious spear from . . .  CHRISTIAN!!!!  Christian pops up and looks down on Joe, then looks at HBK and Edge and smiles!  Christian picks Joe up and drills him with the 'Killswitch', then Edge falls on Joe and gets the 3 count!!!!  

Match Time - 14:25

After the match, the trio of HBK, Edge and Christian celebrate.  Joe tries to get up and come after them, but gets laid out with Sweet Chin Music from HBK . . .  the heels leave the ring triumphant . . .



Match 7: Steel Cage Match: The Briscoes (Jay & Mark -vs- Chris Benoit & Dean Malenko

Just like last night, these four bleed buckets .... In the 2 big spots, Benoit hits a suicide diving headbut off the top of the cage onto Jay Briscoe .... Mark barely makes the save for his brother, and the fight continues .... Jay and Benoit end up fighting on top of the cage, and Benoit is knocked off the cage all the way to the floor outside! Malenko is left alone against BOTH Briscoes and Jay hits the Jay Driller on him .... 1 .... 2 .... Nooooo! Malenko somehow kicks out!!!! Benoit starts to climb back into the cage, and Mark climbs back up to meet him .... Benoit decides better of it and climbs down .... He walks to the back, leaving his partner alone to face both Briscoes! Mark looks down from the top of the cage .... FROGGY BOW FROM THE TOP OF THE CAGE ON MALENKO!!!! 1 ... 2 ... 3!!!!

The Briscoes celebrate with their family, who are sitting at ringside, to send the crowd home happy ....
