vs. Jay Lethal (WTF) vs. Douglas Williams (IFS)Just like that we are off with an exciting first round match pitting Douglas Williams and ay Lethal against one another. Williams tries to ground Lethal in the early goings, but Lethal manages to overcome and unleash some of his high flying arsenal. Lethal strikes the with Lethal combination but cannot but Williams away! Williams pulls the top turnbuckle pad off, but Lethal grabs him from behind and goes for the Dragon Suplex only to have Williams block it. He ducks down, causing Lethal to go face first into the exposed buckle, then he finishes him off with the Chaos Theory. Williams advances to round 2.

vs.Hyabusa (RWA) vs. Dean Malenko (XWA)Malenko goes after the leg of Hyabusa in the early goings, but he has no counter for the style that Hyabusa brings to the table. Hyabusa hits a wide array of moves on Malenko, including a springboard swantom bomb followed by a Lionsault, but Malenko kicks out. Malenko really goes after the knee and grounds Hyabusa, then manages to lock on the Texas Cloverleaf but Hyabusa does not quit. They continue to fight and Hyabusa manages to strike with the Falcon Arrow, but this time it is Malenko’s turn to kick out! Malenko goes up top, but Hyabusa meets him there and they fight it out. Malenko manages to block a huricanrana attempt and score with a gutbuster off the top, then he follows it up with a snap power bomb for the 3 count. Malenko moves on.

vs.Crash Holly (WTF) vs. X-Pac w/ Brianna Bella (HIP)Lots of comedy from Crash to start this one out, as he cuts a promo before the match trying to sound like the Rock. X-Pac attacks him and controls the early going, but Crash fights back! Crash hits the ‘Crash Bottom’, then he stops to play to the crowd and then gets hit with a spinning heel kick from X-Pac as he comes off the ropes. After taking a beating, Crash blocks an X-factor attempt and turns it into the Crash Landing to score the quick pin. Crash looks somewhat surprised at the flash pin, but nonetheless advances to the next round.

vs.Jerry Lynn (HIP) vs. Tajiri (WTF)Classic matchup between these two as Tajiri relies mostly on his striking ability while Lynn tries to turn it into a mat wrestling contest. Tajiri scores with the handspring back elbow early on, then controls Lynn with a nerve hold. Lynn fights back with a Tornado DDT and then a TKO, but Tajiri survives. Tajiri hits a brainbuster but misses a double foot stomp, allowing Lynn to kick him in the gut and nail the Cradle Piledriver to get the 3 count to move on to round 2.

vs.Shelton Benjamin (HLW) vs. Bryan Danielson (XWA)Perhaps the most athletic match of the night, these two tear the house down using a multitude of styles. They wrestle on the mat as well as trade high flying moves. Danielson shows to be the most experienced striker of the two, pummeling Shelton with European Uppercuts and shoot kicks. Shelton, meanwhile, shows his superior athleticism in leaping up to the top rope in one motion to catch an unsuspecting Danielson and hit him with a top rope belly to belly suplex. This one goes back and forth the whole way, but Danielson is able to get the win after blocking the Paydirt mid move and turning it in to the Omoplata Crossface. Shelton is caught in the middle of the ring and has no choice but to tap out.
+++++
vs.John Morrison (WLW) vs. Jack Evans (FA)This match is so full of high spots you can barely keep up. Both men dazzle the crowd with their array of high flying moves, and after it is over they are left chanting ‘THAT WAS AWESOME!’ Morrison is able to avoid Evans hitting the 630, then he scores with the Flying Chuck that legit knocks Evans out. Morrison gets the easy 3 count and Evans has to be helped to the back after the match is over.

vs. Michael Shane (WLW) vs. Jeff Hardy (RWA)Fans are solidly behind Hardy in this one. Lots of back and forth action in the early goings before Shane abandons high flying and tries to ground Hardy with a figure four. Hardy’s knee takes a beating, but he fights back and nails the Hardy-ac arrest in the corner. He tears his shirt off and goes up top, but Shane super kicks him off the top rope and he falls all the way to the floor! It takes Shane a little bit to pull Hardy back in the ring, but then he tries to go back to work on the leg. He goes for the Figure Four again, but this time Jeff Hardy rolls him up in a small package for the 3 count! Shane looks obviously disgusted after the match as Hardy moves on.

vs. Ultimo Dragon (XWA) vs. Austin Aries (IFS)Final tournament match of the night, and it does not disappoint. Aries and Dragon go at each other full speed, and wow the fans with their high risk moves. Aries gets the better of the early exchange and sends Dragon outside, where he scores with the heat seeking missile! They fight outside, but Aries gets sent into the steps and then Dragon is there to score with the Asai moonsault off the apron to the floor! Back in the ring Aries counters a Dragon-rana and gets a sitout power bomb from the 2nd rope! Aries locks in a front facelock and pummels Dragon with knees to the head . . . LAST CHANCERY!!!!
