Midsouth # 15 : The Prodigal Son
JR : Hello folks , welcome to the Sportitorium here in Dallas . I’m Jim Ross and this is Midsouth Wrestling on USA Network . What a show we have . Our first hour main event , The Fabulous Freebirds will be taking on Wildcat Wendall Cooley and Al Perez !!!
Our next hour the Texas Heavyweight Championship Tournament continues with two matches tonight . Billy Gunn vs Tommy Rich and Terry Gordy vs Michael Hayes. Kabuki vs Mike Von Erich and Sgt . Slaughter vs Nick Bockwinkle . Right now let’s debut a new team here . Disciples of Terror !!!
The Disciples of Terror ( Mike Awesome & Brian Cage ) vs The Colossal Kongs ( King & Crusher ) The Kongs come out with Shelly Martinez . Awesome and Cage manhandle them . Cage hits a Powerslam on Crusher and then Awesome ends it with a Splash .
JR : Folks when we come back . It’s the Armstrongs joining Midsouth .

Bob and Brad Armstrong vs Greg Valentine & Johnny Valentine : Good back and forth match . Brad gets his leg worked over in the corner , but , when Greg goes for the Figure Four , Brad kicks him off and rolls to the corner to tag his Dad . Greg Valentine ran into Johnny knocking him off the ring apron . Bob nails a Superkick for 3 . The Armstrongs join JR .
JR : Gentlemen welcome to Midsouth Wrestling.
Bob :Thanks JR , damn those boys are tough . How is the leg son ?
Brad : It hurts , but winning feels so good .
JR : You gentlemen have quite a month here in June . First you lose the WWF East Coast Tag Team Titles , then you show up here and at the end of the month you will face The Texas Outlaws in Glasgow Scotland .
Brad : Let’s talk about them for a minute . The National Tag Team Champions are a couple of bullies . Last week Dad and I went on a scouting trip and what we saw were two men destroying two guys that could no longer intelligently defend themselves . So we stepped in . I hate bullies .
Bob : Me too now ….
The Wild Samoans with Gary Hart come out .
Hart : Easy Armstrongs, we aren’t here to fight brother . We are asking that you relinquish your title shot to us . I mean we are the Midsouth Television Tag Team Champions.
Ole and Arn come out .
Ole : No , we almost beat those guys last time we faced them . That shot belongs to us . You two cant just waltz in here and take away our shot . And as far as the Samoans go , you’re in second place behind us .
Brad : You know what , Ole you’re right . Dad let’s talk some things over . I got a. Idea .
Bob : Son ???
JR : Folks , we will let these gentlemen have a discussion , but when we come back , Buddy Roberts and Jimmy Garvin are in action. .

JR : Before we get to our next match . President of Midsouth Wrestling Bill Watts has joined me for an announcement.
Bill : JR , during the break Bob and Brad Armstrong called me out here for a proposal. Next week right here in this program is a Round Robin Tag Team Match . The Wild Samoans vs The Andersons vs The Armstrongs . The Armstrongs have out up their National Tag Team Championship shot . If either the Andersons or Wild Samoans they will get the shot ahead . So next week we are gonna hook em up !!!! Jim , next hour we will have a special taped message from the NWA World Heavyweight Champion Lex Luger . I have personally viewed the tape and let’s just say I’m sick to my stomach . You know what makes me feel better though , some in ring action . Let’s go up there now !
The Fabulous Freebirds Buddy Roberts & Jimmy Garvin vs Wendall Cooley & Al Perez : Cooley gets caught in the corner and Garvin and Roberts are just relentlessly beating on him . They bloody both Cooley and Perez and keep on beating them down . Finally Kevin and Mike rush the ring and throw in the towel .
JR : And now dammit , Terry Gordy and Badstreet are in the ring and in typical Freebird fashion it’s 4 on two . Michael Hayes has come out here !!! But it’s still 4 on 3 . Hold on !!! It’s ….. it’s David Von Erich !!! David Von Erich is here !!! He’s cleaning house and the Freebirds are getting the hell out of dodge !!! We’ll be back folks .

JR : Welcome back folks . This is our second hour , but I want to bring in David Von Erich .
David : That’s right , JR , the Prodigal Son has come home . Michael called me and told me what was going on with my brothers . I went to Vince McMahon and we worked out a trade and now here I am . Freebirds you want to go to war , well war just came to your door step !!
Kevin : Welcome home little brother . ( hugs David ) It’s all coming together . Folks don’t worry about Kerry btw . He is just fine . He’ll be cleared next week . Freebirds , you wanna do this . Let’s do it .
Mike : That’s right , David is back . He’s brining that nasty side with him . I almost feel sorry for the Freebirds , no that’s a damn lie ! You see you say you are family . 1 percenters . Not everybody can be a Freebird , well We got some news for ya . Blood it thicker than water and you have to be born a Von Erich .
JR : When we come back , it’s Tommy Rich vs Billy Gunn in the second round of the Texas Heavyweight Championship Tournament Tourney.

Billy Gunn vs Tommy Rich : Rich starts quickly firing forearms and gets a flying head scissors . Gunn gets to the ropes and then off the break gets a cheap right hand on Rich . Gunn knees Rich in the corner and then gets off a Suplex . Rich surprises Gunn with a dropkick and then goes for the Thesz Press , but Gunn gets off a makeshift Hot Shot . Gunn hits a Famouser for an unpopular 3 .

JR : Hello folks and welcome back . Bill Watts earlier talked about a taped message from NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Lex Luger . Let’s take you to that message now .
VTR : Luger is seen sitting at table in a high end restaurant. To his left sits Medusa , to his right the G Club . Medusa talks first .
Medusa : We shouldn’t even be wasting our time with this video , but whatever the champion wants he gets . We warned you , we told you anybody with the last name of Von Erich , would be put out of action . We don’t have the time to mess with regional second rate talent .
Luger : That’s right . You see Kerry the Bash tour is coming up . I’ve got to face top tier talent through out . I have to face Nikita Koloff , Russia’s pride and joy . The best athlete in the entire USSR . Putin calls him their favorite son . I’ve got Samoa Joe breathing down my neck . One of the most dangerous wrestlers in the world today . Near the end of the Bash Tour , I got to face Andre The Giant in Paris , right around the same time the Olympics are going on . I got Sting who is obsessed with me for some reason and Richie Flair , with all his technical skills, is a problem .
Kerry , I don’t have time to face you . At least your brothers traveled all over the world . You have never ever stepped outside of Texas . You had an opportunity to take a bite out of the big apple and you ran home to Texas . You are a regional hero. There is nothing wrong with that , but Kerry you should have stayed in your lane . You had your shot . I obligated my contract , came to Texas took on the top regional guy , won and left .
Then you go on tv and call me out for having help . Kerry are you any better than me ? Every time I turn around your bothers are fighting battle you can’t finish . I’m sorry Kerry , but you don’t even belong in the top ten . For that matter , let’s take a look at Midsouth . On an average you have to go down to number 4 or lower to find a guy in any of the rankings . Midsouth is the toilet of the NWA . Every promotion in the NWA has held some kind of NWA title , but Midsouth . Gateway doesn’t count because they are a start up promotion .
The bottom line is Kerry , I paid Terry Gordy , a lot of money to take care of a problem . Terry Gordy accepted my terms and hurt you . Now for some reason , you survived that attack , which I’ll give you credit for , a average man would have been on the shelf for months or out if the business altogether, but they tell me , that you will be back next week . Kerry , I’m not coming to Dallas on July 6th . I’m not coming to Louisiana on July 20th . That little regional promotion with their second rate B Plus talent needs to stay in their lane . If a Von Erich wants to wrestle me , it won’t be there in the toilet . Kevin good luck in Glasgow you’re gonna need it . Because like your bother , your family and your stupid indie promotion you’re just an afterthought when it comes to the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, the Total Package , Lex Luger .

Texas Heavyweight Championship: Terry Gordy vs Michael Hayes : There is no love lost here . These two meet right in the middle of the ring and throw down . Gordy gets tired of fist and big boots Michael in the face . Then drops a knee across the head . Gordy works a headlock trying to wear Hayes down . Hayes gets to the ropes for the break , but Gordy punches him in the gut and goes for a Piledriver ! Hayes turns it into a Rana !!! Now Garvin , Roberts and Badstreet try to get in the ring . The Von Erichs are out and fight with them all the way to the back . Gordy staggers up ……. BULLDOG BY Hayes !!!! 1……..2……3 !!!

The Great Kabuki vs Mike Von Erich : Gary Hart pays big dividends for Kabuki . He even trips up Mike when he puts Kabuki in the claw . Kabuki hits Mike with. Spinning back fist and knocks him out cold for the 3 .

Sgt . Slaughter vs Nick Bockwinkle : Nick owns this match from the start . He works Sarge over good with some submission moves ! When he goes for the Sleeper , Sarge falls backward into the turnbuckles and then. Sarge hits the Slaughter Cannon and then the Cobra Clutch . Bockwinkle isn’t stupid . He submits to fight another day .

Magnum TA is in the in the talking shit about Piper . Piper comes out and the two brawl all over the building .
