Gordon Solie : Hello there and welcome to the National Wrestling Alliance NBC Special on this St . Patrick’s Day from Dublin , Ireland . While back in the states it’s 1pm in the afternoon , here in Ireland it’s 6pm . Tonight all 5 NWA Championships are on the line , plus you will see the opening match for the National Tag Team Tournament as Rick Steamboat and Junkyard Dog take on the Hart Foundation . Also in action tonight a nontitle match . Bob Backlund the Midsouth Heavyweight Champion taking on the former NWA World Heavyweight Champion , the man once known as the Undertaker , but is now Lord Humongus . Lots of excitement here tonight . My guest tonight one half of the of the WWF Television Tag Team Champions leader of the Freebirds Michael PS Hayes .
Hayes : That’s right baby , live and in living color Gordon Solie . Dublin it’s time to get down Fantasia Style . And what a way to kick things off a cage match between two of the craziest bastards in our sport . Taz and Roddy Piper . These two hate each other Gordon , so they put ‘em in a cage to settle it , Last Man Standing . Oh and the NWA Television Title is on the line .
Gordon : Let’s go to the ring for that match .
NWA World Television Title Last Man Standing Cage Match Taz vs Roddy Piper : Before the match Gordon explains the only 2 ways to win is to win by a ten count when your opponent can’t get to their feet or walk out of the cage door under your own power . Not crawl , not go over the top , not fall out . You have to incapacitate your opponent to where you can confidently walk out the door . The ref os there for only to count or to rule a legal walk out .
Piper and Taz charge at one another and early on this resembles more of a bar room brawl than a match . They rolls around in the mat hitting each other punches . They get to their feet and Piper goes for a big right hand . Taz duck under and comes up with a capture Suplex and hurls Piper back first into the cage . Now Taz with four German Suplexes and then releasing his man on the last one . He tells the ref to count . Piper doesn’t try to play Superman , he gets up at the count of 8 . Hayes explains the strategy of staying on the mat until 8 , Taz can’t touch him . The two lock up . Taz with a go behind and then back leg sweep , showing off those judo skills and Taz slips in to an STF . He had it locked in tight . Piper’s body goes limp . Taz gets up and starts for the door . Piper thought was apparently playing opossum . He jumps up and knees Taz in the back , knocking him out of the cage door down to the floor . The ref waves it off as not a legal walk out . The match continues on the floor .
Piper grabs a chair and slams it into Taz’s back and then puts Taz over one shoulder and lawn darts him face first into the cage . Taz is a bloody mess . Piper drags Taz back in and hits a fist drop from the second rope . Piper pulls his man up …. PILEDRIVER BY PIPER !!! Piper tells the ref , “ count you idiot . “ Taz staggers to his feet at nine and half ! Piper goes for a clothesline , but Taz side steps and gets off a side belly to belly . Both men are down . Neither moving . We are at the 20 minute mark and the brutality of this match has taken its toll on both men . They get to their feet at the same time . Piper scores with a right hand . Taz answers back with a short forearm . Piper with another right hand . Taz with another forearm . This last for about 15 seconds until Piper kicks Taz in the nuts and spikes him with a DDT . Both men are down again . They worn out . Taz gets to his feet first . He charges at Piper , Piper with a back Body Drop . Now Taz is caught in between the cage and the ropes . Piper slams Taz’s head repeatedly into the cage . There is nowhere for Taz to go . He goes limp and falls . Piper walks to the cage door . Kicks it open and walks out . The ref calls for the bell .
Jimmy Lennon Jr : Fans , Referee Larry Hazzard has called a legal walk out to this contest at 33 minutes and 38 seconds. Your winner and Neeeeeeeeeewwwwwwww NWA World Television Champion . Rowdy Roddy Piper !!!!
Hayes : Gordon , Piper is just a bit more crazy than all of us and I dig that about him .
Gordon : And as a result , that craziness has rewarded him with a NWA World Television Title .
Hayes : Hey when ya gotta get nasty , you gotta get nasty .
Gordon : When we come back Bob Backlund takes on Lord Humongus . We’ll be back .

Gordon : Welcome back and right now we have a rather interesting match .
Hayes : Gordon , it’s gonna be a train wreck. Bob Backlund thinks he’s gonna fix Lord Humongus , but brother , this ain’t the same guy . Backiund signed his death warrant.
Gordon : We need to remind this fans as this match is not in the states , the MIdsouth Heavyweight Title cannot be defended . This is a nontitle match .
Bob Backlund vs Lord Humongous : The Exalted one comes out to the ring . He takes the house mic .
Brodie Lee: There was once a man who had died many deaths . Who had never found himself . Even at his greatest moment , he was not at peace with his soul . From out of the ashes he found what he was looking for . He walked through the wastelands . Stripped himself of his pride and dignity and rose again this time as King of the Wastelands!! Now all hail Lord Humongous !!! The Mighty Lord Humungous ! Bob Backlund meet your nightmare . Your greatest fear . Ladies and and gentlemen, dying time is here !!!!
Humongous hits Backlund with a Polish Hammer that flips Backlund out of the ring and down to the floor ! Humongous goes out after him . Backlund fires a right hand into the gut and then a left to the ribs . Humongous might be hurt , but you can’t tell . He slams a big clubbing forearm into Backlund’s back and then chokeslams him through the time keepers table . Brodie Lee points to the ring . Humongous rolls in just beating the count of 10 . Humongous wins by count out .
Post match , Humongous picks up Backlund and hits the Last Ride on the ring apron !!! EMTs rush to Backlund’s aid .
Hayes : I told ya Gordon , there ain’t no fixing this guy . He ain’t the same man and Brodie Lee has his hands on the destruct button .
Gordon : It does indeed appear to be the case . We’ll be back .

Gordon : Welcome back and right now it’s time for a special opening round match up as part of the National Tag Team Tournament which will take place at the Louisiana Superdome March 23 & 24th .
Hayes : You know me and Kevin are in this thing too . This is a great opportunity for me to do some scouting , Gordon .
Gordon: Let’s go to the ring .
Opening Match National Tag Team Tournament The Hart Foundation vs Rick Steamboat & Junkyard Dog : JYD and Anvil start things off with a brawl in the middle of the ring . Neither man gaining anything . Anvil rakes the eyes and then clotheslines him . He picks JYD up and Bodyslams him . From there he smashes JYD’s head into the turnbuckles . JYD just looks at him and headbutts Anvil . JYD picks up his man and gets off a bodyslam and tags in Steamboat. Steamer comes in and gets off a standing dropkick . Steamer with an arm drag takedown . Owen reaches in out if the ref’s sight and puts Anvil’s foot on the ropes . Steamer breaks and Anvil rakes the eyes and spears him . Anvil tags off to Bret .
Bret hits a leg drop on Steamer and then a diving forearm from the second rope . Bret with a side Russian Leg Sweep. Bret hits an inverted atomic drop . Hayes talks about this is what Bret does he simply punishes the body . Bret tags off to Anvil . He hits a press slam and then works a Bearhug . Steamer claps both ears and gets out . Bret clotheslines Steamer in the back of the head . JYD tries to get in , but the ref cuts him off . Bret and Anvil double team Steamer . Anvil works a seated chinlock .
Steamer works his way to his feet and then falls backward . Steamer with a series of chops and kicks . Gets the hot tag to JYD . JYD clotheslines Anvil . Flying shoulder tackle to Bret . Big Thump to Anvil !!! Cover 1……..2………Nooooooo !!! Owen puts a foot on the ropes ! Steamer hits a a crossbody on Owen on the floor . JYD headbutts Bret who comes charging in . Bret falls out if the ring . Anvil gets hit by a Missile Dropkick by Steamer ! JYD hits a second Big Thump !!! 1……2…..3 !!!!
Gordon : And there you have it . Steamboat and JYD have advanced ! They will take on the Gentlemen’s Club who won a bye .
Hayes : Gordon , I ain’t sure what’s going on with the Hart Foundation, but it seems like firing Gary Hart was a bad idea .
Gordon : It very well might be . We’ll be back .

Gordon : Welcome back . Our next two matches are out if the exciting Super Junior Heavyweight division .
Hayes : Gordon , I got a feeling Will Osprey is about to have a very bad night .
Gordon : We’re about to find out .
Will.Ospreay vs Juice Robinson (If Ospreay wins, he gets a future NWA Super Juniors title shot against Jay White):
As Juice makes his way to the ring, its a Jump start from Ospreay in the aisle, chopping Juice into the aisle before he got tossed into the guard rails.
Juice throws Ospreay onto the rails before he ripped up some of the padding on the floor, teasing a piledriver. It’s blocked by Ospreay, as they hit the ring and things start officially.. With Juice getting low bridged to the outside for a Sasuke special. Chops keep Juice by the rails, before Ospreay got taken back into the railings. Returning to the ring, Juice takes off some tape from Ospreay’s neck and shoulders, before he threw him into an exposed corner for a two-count.
Ospreay’s trapped in a neck crank, but he elbows free then hit the ropes for a springboard forearm. We head outside again with a plancha into Juice, before the pair found themselves on the apron… but an OsCutter’s stopped as Juice teased a Pulp Friction, before Ospreay vaulted across the turnbuckles, going apron-to-apron for an eventual apron powerbomb!!
Juice gets the knees up to block a 450 splash before he threw in a Juice Box for a near-fall… a shotgun dropkick from Ospreay sent Juice into the referee, before a mule kick from Juice blocked a Chelsea Grin attempt. Cue shenanigans as Juice went outside and pulled a chair from under the ring.
Ospreay ducks the chair shot, returning with a hook kick, before a chair shot from Juice stopped a Hidden Blade. Juice shakes referee Jeremy Marcus to make the cover, 1..........2...... but the super slow count allowed Ospreay to kick out at two. From there, Juice drags Ospreay outside for a piledriver on the floor, while a Pulp Friction only got a near-fall… Ospreay sunset flips out of a Rockslide, then hit some hook kicks… only for his OsCutter to get countered… but he avoids Rockslide and nails a Hidden Blade for the win. Will Ospreay just win the right to face Jay White for the NWA Super Juniors title. White can be seen standing in the isle, clutching his title as Ospreay looks on.
Gordon : Oh some bad blood there .
Hayes : How will this affect White going in his match .
Gordon : We’ll be back .

Gordon : Welcome back . One of the most dominant champions we have here in the NWA is the World Super Junior Heavyweight Champion Switchblade Jay White .
Hayes : That’s because the Bullet Club took a page out of the Freebird play book. As long as you got bothers , you got it made . He ain’t gonna get off easy . That’s for sure . Tonight he’s taking on Chris Benoit . The NJPW Super J Champion . Interesting note . These two might be throwing down again at Wrestlemania if White is still the champion .
Gordon : Let’s go to the ring .
NWA World Super Junior Heavyweight Champion Switchblade Jay White vs Chris Benoit : The two men lock up collar and elbow . White backs Benoit into the ropes and goes for a ridge hand strike off the break , but Benoit blocks it and lands a Cho to the chest and then a second chop . Benoit with a half Nelson back breaker . Benoit quickly covers for a 2 count . He goes to pull White up , but White catches him with a low blow . He looks at the ref who shakes his head as if to tell White you’re not getting a cheap DQ . White hits a spinning version of the Rock Bottom and then goes into a Cobra Stretch !! Benoit gets to the ropes and White stomps away on his man . White chokes Benoit in the bottom rope , refusing to break in five . Again the ref doesn’t count .
Gordon : A somewhat blatant disregard for the rules here , by the champion .
Hayes : Hey if the ref ain’t throwing up the DQ, get nasty . If Benoit wants to play Mr . Nice guy , well we know what happens to nice guys .
White hurls Benoit from the ring and then hits a baseball slide that drives Benoit into the guardrails ! White Uranagi Slam in the ground !!! When he goes to pull Benoit up , Benoit hits a low blow himself and then slams Jay White’s head into the ring post . White is busted open . Benoit with a Crossface on the outside of the ring . The ref has had enough and waves off the match .
Jimmy Lennon Jr : Fans , referee Pee Wee Anderson has disqualified both men in this contest . This again a double disqualification.
Hayes : Well , looks like Wrestlemania might be the answer for both of em Gordon .
Gordon : Yessir and when we come back the NWA World Tag Team Champions Ken Patera and Jerry Blackwell put their tag team titles on the line against the NJPW Tag Team Champions The British Bulldogs .
Hayes : I hope those two back stabbing low life’s get what’s coming to them .

NWA World Tag Team Titles Ken Patera & Jerry Blackwell vs The British Bulldogs : Patera and Davey start it off . They lock up in a test of strength. First Patera gets the upper hand and then Smith starts coming on . Patera kicks him in the gut and then picks him off the mat and slams him in the corner and tags off to Blackwell . Blackwell with a running splash and then picks up Smith and power slams him . He gets 1……..2……..Nooooooo !!! Smith kicks out . Smith gets to his feet and surprises Blackwell by lifting the 472 pounder and slamming him !!!! Smith tags off to Dynamite. Dynamite comes in and works an STF on Blackwell ! Patera kicks Dynamite in the back of the head . Now he and Blackwell double team him in their corner . Patera with a back breaker and then a gut wrench Suplex. Blackwell comes in and works a Bearhug !! Dynamite battles his way out and gets off a Front Dropkick and then a flying Kneelift to Blackwell ! Dynamite with the tag to Daveyboy ! Smith comes in and cuts Blackwell down with a Spear ! From there he hits a Stampede !! He tags off to Dynamite…… FLYING HEADBUTT !!! Dynamite covers 1…….2……..3 !!!
Hayes : Hell Yeah !! Take that you traitors !!! Oh and Bulldogs don’t get to comfortable with those World Tag Titles . They are still Freebird property. They are on loan for now .
Gordon : We do indeed have new NWA World Tag Team Champions . We’ll be back .

Gordon : Welcome back . It’s now time for the NWA National Heavyweight Title match . To say these two men have been super competitive with one another is an understatement.
Hayes : You know these two started a dance in Canada and all hell broke loose in Puerto Rico. Now here they are in Dublin . Let’s dance one more time , baby !!!
NWA National Heavyweight Title Razor Ramon vs Kevin Owens : They come out of the back fighting . They fight down the ramp way and Razor whips Owens shoulder first into the steps . He kicks and stomps at Owens left arm and then puts the arm on the ring apron and pounds on it . He rolls Owens in the ring and works a Hammerlock . Owens gets to the ropes . Razor drives a knee into the arm before breaking and then just kicks Owens out of the ring again . He goes out after him . Owens with a right hand and then another and another . He slams Razor’s head into the ring post , busting him open . Owens goes to pick Razor up , but the arm is weakened . Razor slams Owen’s head into the post returning the crimson mask favor . He rolls Owens back in the ring and hits a Fall Away Slam . From there he goes for an elbow drop from the second rope , but Owens moves and gets off a roaring clothesline !!! Owens covers 1…….2…….Noooo !!!! Razor kicks out !!!
Owens pulls Razor to his feet and just headbutts him . Owens hits a Bulldog and then a tumbling senton . He covers again . 1……….2………Razor kicks out again . Owens goes to pull Razor up , but Razor knees him in the gut and then brings down a big clubbing forearm across the bad shoulder of Owens . Razor now with an Anderson Slam and then puts Owens on the top rope . He gets off a Superplex !!!! He covers …….1………..2………Noooooo !!! Owens kicks out !!! Razor stomps on the bad arm again and now goes for the Razor’s Edge !!!! Owens thought gets out the back . Spins Razor around ….. STUNNER BY OWENS !!!! The move hurts his arm and he can’t cover . Razor goes over and grabs him . He goes for another Razor’s Edge Owens gets out the back and goes into a Backslide. Razor’s shoulders are down . 1……….2………3 !!!
Gordon : Wait a minute . Do we have a new champion here , Michael Hayes ?
Hayes : Well , the ref counted 3 that should be it .
Jimmy Lennon Jr : Fans here is the time 22 minutes and 17 seconds . Your winner and Neeeeeeeewwwwwww National Heavyweight Champion Kevin Owens !!!
Gordon : The third NWA Title we’ve seen tonight .
Hayes : WWF brings home some gold , Gordon , I think that belt would look good wrapped around my beautiful waist and then me and Kevin can wear the tag belts over our shoulder .
Gordon : When we come back , it’s time for the NWA World Heavyweight Title match . Can an Unranked free agent win the biggest prize in our sport . We’ll be back .

NWA World Heavyweight Title Seth Rollins vs Sheamus : Rollins doesn’t take the Unranked Sheamus seriously and that a big mistake . Sheamus hits a body slam and then an elbow . He clubs Rollins across the back and then pulls him up for a Powerbomb. Rollins turns it into a Rana and then hits a step up enzuguri. Sheamus staggers up and Rollins hits a Slingblade. Rollins goes for the Curb Stomp , but Sheamus moves and gets off a roaring clothesline . He follows it up with the Celtic Soward . From there he hits the Irish Curse . He covers 1……2….. Rollins kicks out . Sheamus picks him for the Brough Kick , Rollins catches the leg and then a Dragon Screw Leg Whip !! Rollins with a step over toe hold . Sheamus counters into a Clover Leaf !! Rollins fights like hell and gets to the ropes . Rollins off the break , hits a flying knee and the the Curb Stomp . He covers 1……….2………3 !!!
Hayes : Sheamus raised all kinds of hell and almost won .
Gordon : Wait a minute Medusa is out here and she’s not alone . Lex Luger is with her .
Hayes : And he brought the Cup Trophy
. Damn are we gonna get it on right now ?
Medusa : Don’t worry Seth , we said Spring Stampede and we meant it .
Luger : I just wanna show you this . I went through 16 men to get it .
Rollins: And I beat the unbeatable Randy Savage to get this . Tell me who is more impressive Package . See you at Spring Stampede .
Hayes : Come in boys , let’s mix it up !!!
Gordon : I’m afraid the fight is another day , Mr . Hayes . Thank you for joining us this afternoon. I’m Gordon Solie for Michael Hayes . We will see you next time . The NWA invades Moscow .
