AWA # 11 : The Tully Blanchard Experience
Freddy : AWA All Star Wrestling Saturday Morning . Bringing you the greatest stars from , Britain , Germany , Mexico , Canada and the United States . This is Freddy Miller and here is your host Gordon Solie .
Gordon : Thank you Freddy Miller and thank you to those of you at home for joining us here at the WGN Museum of Broadcasting studios and we have a rather lively crowd on hand . Let’s get the action started .
Freddy Miller : Good morning this is our opening contest one fall with a ten minute time limit . First from Philadelphia, The Unpredictable Johnny Rodz . His opponent from Mound , Minnesota Greg Gagne !
Gagne has a lot of trouble with the skilled crafty veteran, but Greg ends it with a cross body off the top for 3 .
Post match the Monndogs and Billy Robinson come out and attack . Verne and Jim Brunzell join Greg all six men battle to the back .
Gordon : A crazy start to your morning here . We’ll be back with the man who is on the final four for the NWA World Heavyweight Title , the Undertaker .

Gordon : Welcome back and joining me right a man that goes by many times , The Deadman, Big Evil , The American Bad Ass , but sir , you might be adding NWA World Heavyweight Champion to that list . You are looking to move one step closer tonight .
Taker : It doesn’t get any easier . Doctor Death Steve Williams is a dangerous man . Power , speed and wrestling ability . He can throw a man 9 ways to Sunday and his Stampede is no joke. Doc , look into my eyes and you will see I’m no joke . Ask Bruiser Brody from last week . Once again , the big dog in the yard , is gonna have to defend what’s his . This time I plan to pick the meat off the bone and bury it . Get ready Doctor Death because you are about to face the Big Evil . At the final four I’ll make you famous .

Babydoll : Soon to be AWA Tag Team Champions Randy Orton and Eddie Guerrero. If those cowards called the Midnight Express bother showing their faces here .
Gordon : Well they are scheduled two weeks from today . Therefore we will see them soon .
Babydoll : Good the sooner they show up the faster we get those titles . Now …..
Ricky and Robert come out to the podium .
Ricky : Who said anything about you getting a title shot . Those belts were ours we deserve a rematch .
Babydoll : Last time we saw you two punks Bruiser and Crusher left you laying . Plus you lost the belts . Your time is over , it’s our turn .
Bruiser and Crusher come out .
Bruiser : The dumb broad is right . You two hit greedy and lost the belts . Now me and Crusher we deserve a shot you two don’t now Bob’s kid and the Mexican kid , yeah , but ya gotta wait in line .
Babydoll : We don’t wait in line .
Crusher : Ya know a real man doesn’t let some fat broad do the thinking for him . You guys are the four biggest sissies I ever saw . Now ..,..
The Sheik leads out Patera and Blackwell .
Ricky : Oh hell no , you guys don’t deserve a damn thing . Back of the line boys .
Wally Karbo comes out .
Karbo : Gordon , seems like we have a situation here . Well , I’ll tell you what . Next we will have a tag team gauntlet . The winner gets the AWA Tag Team Title shot at the Midnight Express the following Friday night on Friday Night Championship Week . Now all of you clear out .
Except you Tully .
Tully : I know , I know, I gotta defend my belt . I’m pretty sure this week was Denny Brown for the Tully Blanchard Experience. We have upped the ante to $55,000 this week too . So ok Wally , bring him out here and we’ll make this fast .
Karbo : Denny Brown isn’t going to make it . However , we are moving your match today to the main event .
Tully : Need the ratings I understand . Ok , well , whatever kid you decided needs the Tully Blanchard Experience, is fine with me .
Babydoll : As a matter of fact , since we are celebrating the Tully Blanchard Experience, why don’t we up things a bit more . Gordon , there is another briefcase behind you . Would you please ?
Gordon opens the briefcase .
Gordon : Well there seems to be an exorbitant amount of money here .
Babydoll : That’s $45, 000 . So whoever we wrestle today , you last the 10 minutes you get $100, 000 . You pin the champion within 10 minutes, you get the title and the money .
Karbo : This is always my favorite part of the show . What do you say Tully since we are in the main event , let’s make it a one hour time limit .
Tully : Well , Wally , it’s not going to last that long but ok , However , anything after 10 minutes , let’s say the belt is off the table as well as the money . If they can go past ten minutes , I’ll give them another title at Championship week with the money and title on the line with another one hour .
Wally : Ok , you want to sign that now .
Tully : Sure .
Wally : Ok , I’ll have the contract written up and you can sign it after the break and the next match .
Tully : Of course . It’s about time I got recognized around here .
Karbo : Oh I know Tully . You are a ratings grabber .
Gordon : Um …. We’ll be back .
Iron Mike Sharpe vs Ricky Starr : Sharpe is all business . He hits those big clubbing forearms to Starr’s back . Than a nasty clothesline . He Spears Starr and then puts him away with a Bearhug !
Sharpe walks by the podium where Babydoll , Tully and Karbo are standing .
Sharpe : Last week at Elite 8 , I Speared Hunter right out of the ring . I think I earned a title shot at Championship Week .
Babydoll : You’re a prelim bum . No .
Karbo : Well Babydoll , you don’t make the matches around here, I do . Mike’s team did win the Survivor Series match up . Mike you got it .
Babydoll : DAMN !!!! This is not fair .
Karbo : Well it is . The man took out the HHH . Now I believe we have some paperwork to sign .
Tully : Hold it ! What’s to say I sign this contract and you toss Tommy Rich at me , because I do owe him a title match because of him pinning at the Elite 8 last week . I’m not signing . That hillbilly gets one Shot and one only .
Karbo : Ok Tully , I’ll assure you it’s not Tommy Rich .
Tully ; And it’s not part of any of those four idiots , that wrestled us at the Elite 8 .
Karbo : No none of those gentlemen.
Tully :?Nobody hiding under a El Santo or Mil Mascaras match that could be Tommy Rich .
Karbo: And nobody that’s not here today .
Tully : Well that leaves Mike Jackson who I saw in back . Bryan Danielson , who just win a title and everyone else has wrestled . Ok deal .
Karbo : Sign .
Tully : Done .
Karbo : Ok , well thank goodness that’s over . This should be a great match today .
Tully : Tell Jackson I’m looking forward to it .
Karbo : No , Jackson is wrestling Danielson next . We had a ring issue this morning . Had some trouble with the wood underneath. Luckily I was able to call Stu Hart and borrow his . Bret was nice enough to go get it .
Tully : What ??? What ???? No no no !!!
Karbo : It’s signed.
Gordon : WOW ok , we’ll be back with the AWA Junior Heavyweight Champion in action .

Bryan Danielson vs Mike Jackson : Jackson gives Danielson a hell of a match, but off a rope break , Danielson knees him in the gut , hits a vertical Suplex and then rolls into a trapping crucifix which he elbows the side of Jackson ‘s head until he’s unconscious.
Gordon : An impressive win for that young man this week . I would like to congratulate you on winning the AWA Junior Heavyweight Title …….
Danielson : I bet you would . Funny how this company kept me down , booking me in stupid ridiculous matches . You never had time for me either and now you do all of a sudden . Where the hell were you and these idiotic fans when I was losing , nowhere , that’s where . You treated me like some prelim bum . Well I’m not a prelim bum , I know my abilities and soon you and these stupid people out here will find out I’m the best in the world .
Danielson walks off
Gordon is stunned and speechless as we go to break .

WGN Television Title Tully Blanchard vs Bret Hart : There is a lot of the line here . Babydoll as usual is out with Tully . Bret starts off with a side headlock takedown . Tully works up to his feet , backs Bret in the corner and knees him in the gut . Tully hits a vertical and then knee lifts Bret as he’s getting to his feet . Tully measures his man and drops a knee across the forehead . He now works a front facelock. Bret battles up and gets off an inverted atomic drop !! Bret with a side Suplex and then goes to the second rope and comes down with a flying forearm smash . Leg drop by Bret and then a back breaker . He goes into the Sharpshooter at the 6:30 mark . The ref is asking Tully to give up , Babydoll is now trying to get on the ring . Face Crusher on Hart by HHH !!! Hunter bales out , Tully sets up for the Slingshot as Babydoll gets down . Tommy Rich jumps the railing . Tully is distracted for just a second , he goes for the Slingshot , the distraction is enough for Bret to get his bearings , Small Package out of the Slingshot ……. 1……..2……..3 !!!!
Freddy Miller : Fans the time of the fall 7:55 your winner and new WGN Television Champion Bret The Hitman Hart !!!
Gordon : Wait a minute . Yessir we do have a new WGN Television Champion . Bret Hart! Yes indeed !!!
Sharpe , Rich , The Gagnes , The Rock N Roll Express and Jim Brunzell are out there . Karbo grabs both the belt and both briefcases . Tully is throwing a fit , but ultimately knew the agreement .
Gordon : WOW !! We are out of time . For Freddy Miller , I’m Gordon Solie saying so long from the Windy City of Chicago !
