LANCE RUSSELL reviews what happened at SURVIVOR SERIES ...specifically talking about RICK RUDE'S fantastic showing and the USWA Tag Team champions-THE SHEEPHERDERS winning the SURVIVOR SERIES Tag Match!
This of course brings out the USWA Tag Team Champions- THE SHEEPHERDERS who are accompanied by their flag bearer-
JOHNNY ACE!
The Champs take turn rambling on about how they single handedly defeated each team on their way to destroying VADER and BAM BAM BIGELOW and how they did it all on their own!
They end their promo by calling out those cowards-the IWA World Tag Team champions-BLACK WALLSTREET!
1st Match: "KING"EDDIE GILBERT vs KEN LUCAS
It takes a few moments to figuire out how to offset the strength advantage of LUCAS ,but once he does,EDDIE tales control and eventually hits a "hot shot : slingshot and get the pin!
Afterwards EDDIE cuts a promo on how heos the true King of Memphis and laughs about how easy it was to run LAWLER outta Memphis before he even got started!!
2nd Match- MAD DOG BUZZ SAWYER vs CARL FERGIE
BUZZ just annihilates this man with his roughhouse tactics and various suplexes!
BUZZ finally hits a running powerslam before pinning the overmatched FERGIE!
After the match,for some unknown reason,BUZZ calls out 'PRETTU BOY" RICLY STEAMBOAT!
USWA Heavyweight Champion-RICK RUDE w/JIMMY HART come out and cut a promo on SURVIVOR SERIES and how RUDE was the real winner and MVP on his team!
He then calls out FLAIR and challenges him for not living up to his part of the deal!
USWA TV Champ: MASKED SUPERSTAR cuts a quick promo complaining about not being involved in SURVIVOR SERIES and then challenges the new IWA WORLD TV Champ to come to Memphis to defend that title!
3rd Match: TV TITLE MATCH
MASKED SUPERSTAR (c) VS billy joe travis
TRAVIS has his moments early on and is giving the champ trouble but the champ catches him with a big shoulder breaker,clamps on the dragon sleeper and gets the successful title defense!
4th Match: OLE ANDERSON vs TONY ZANE
There's no working over one body part mentality from OLE this time!
He seems to be in a pissy mood so he just beats the shit outta ZANE before finally securing a school boy roll up for the pin and win!
5th Match: JYD ns MASKED INTERN
JYD makes his debut a successful one as he dominates the MASKED INTERN!
The INTERN tries every dirty trick but JYD is having none of it and after ab few headbutss he scoops up the masked man and delivers the Big Thump to get his first USWA victory!!
6 th Match- SUPERFLY JIMMY SNuKA w/JIMMY HART vs BOBBY BLAZE
The youngster does and tries his best but has no shot against the SUPERFLY!
SNUKA slams him...goes to the top turnbuckle and hits a vicious knee drop across the chest!
He then climbs back up and hits a big Superfly Splash on the prone BLAZE and gets an easy pin!
Unfortunately BLAZE is injured and has to be stretchered out !
As BLAZE is being stretchered out,the maniacal SNUKA goes to the studio floor and overturns the stretcher and stomps away on the prone BLAZE until JIMMY HART gets him off of BLAZE and back to the dressing room!
MAIN EVENT
GREG VALENTINE vs JIMMY VALIANT
The stoic VALENTINE is really having trouble with the unique style of VALIANT !
VALIANT has GREG so frustrated that several times he has to leave the ring to gather himself!
VALENTINE attempts to put he figure 4 on but VALIANT gets to the ropes!
While VALENTINE is arguing with ref RANDY HALES,VALIANT comes up from behind and puts the sleeper hold on !
VALENTINE starts to fade fast when TERRY FUNK runs in and causes the dq!
VALIANT is outnumbered and getting a beat down when JYD runs in to even things up and send the heels retreating to the dressing room as the show ends!!
